A Week Later:

Kari had a severe asthma attack because of the smoke left in her lungs. It was so bad that she couldn't breathe, and she wasn't allowed to leave the hospital. She went into a coma for a day and a half and was forced to wear an oxygen mask until a few hours ago—unless she was eating. Kari hated it.

It sure as hell freaked Trunks out: getting back to the hospital to hear sirens and seeing nurses and a doctor rushing into Kari's room. His parents, Kagome, and the kids were in the hallway.

Flashback:

Trunks and Sesshomaru walked into the hospital in silence. Neither of them wanted to talk about any of that unless they had to.

"May I help you, Sirs?" A new receptionist calmly asked.

"I'm here to see my daughter: Kari Briefs; she was brought in for smoke inhalation earlier. And as far as we know, his family is still here with my daughter as well." Trunks answered before he and Sesshomaru headed back.

The receptionist was going to say something, but just looking into Sesshomaru's eyes freaked her out. She sat there, frozen in fear, unable to move.

"CODE BLUE! CODE BLUE! The child is unable to breathe!" Trunks and Sesshomaru heard doctors and nurses yelling down the hall.

"What is going on?" Sesshomaru asked, looking around.

"Oh, God. Please don't be Kari." Trunks begged before quickly heading to Kari's room. He knew he wasn't that lucky when he saw his parents, Kagome, Akio, Towa, Setsuna, and Moroha, standing in the hallway.

"What happened?" Trunks demanded, walking over with Sesshomaru.

"I don't know. One minute, Kari is sleeping just fine. The next, her body's arching off the bed, struggling to breathe. We don't know what happened. I pressed the emergency call button multiple times, and a nurse came in. She called for help, and we were kicked out of the room.

"Fuck this." Trunks declared before going into the room.

"Sir, you can't be in here." A nurse stopped Trunks the moment he stepped into the room and the door shut behind him.

"The hell I can't. I know rules and regulations: she's my daughter and is only three-years-old. I'm not leaving my daughter's side." Trunks argued, pushing his way past and to Kari.

The moment she saw Trunks, Kari weakly reached for him.

"It's ok, Baby; I'm here." Trunks gently told Kari, taking her little hand in his.

After a few grueling minutes, Kari went still and was breathing evenly thanks to an oxygen mask. However, she also passed out.

"What happened?" Trunks demanded, watching the doctor and nurses.

"You're the little girl's father?" The doctor asked, watching Trunks.

"Her name is Kari Briefs. And yes, I'm her father: my name is Trunks Briefs. I am a teen father because I was stupid, and my teacher seduced me. Kari is my entire world. And I understand protocol: I understand in situations like this, non-family members can't be in here. However, two of those people you kicked out were my parents—Kari's grandparents. At least one of them should've been in here with her. She is here because there was a fire at the daycare she was at and the principal of said daycare took her inhaler away from because someone suspected her of drug use. She's three: Kari doesn't even know what drugs are. Also, her caretaker at the daycare inappropriately touched her. It's already not a good day. Now, this happens. I demand to know what happened." Trunks went off on the doctor; he was beyond agitated.

Trunks will forever be grateful to Kagome for saving Kari, using CPR when she collapsed earlier. But this is not the regular hospital he takes her to. And now he remembers why; they don't let anyone know what's going on unless you drill them.

"We would like to get an Xray of her chest to figure that out, Sir." The doctor replied, gulping a little.

"Fine, but I want answers as soon as you have them. And I'm warning you right now: if I don't get those answers as soon as you have them; I'll be suing you specifically." Trunks firmly told the doctor.

"Y-yes, Sir." The doctor replied before quickly leaving.

"Wow. Good for you. I don't think I've ever seen anyone stand up to Dr. Gage and have him back down like that before. Where were you years ago?" Dr. Hana asked, walking in.

"Why do you let this go on if you don't like it?" Trunks asked, sitting next to Kari.

"He had ten year. And he's my superior. But anyway: let me tell you what I know about Kari. Until we know what's going on, Kari will have to wear the oxygen mask to help her breathe. Because she was asleep when the attack happened; I would have to guess that it was caused by smoke that may still be trapped in her lungs. But keep in mind that's just speculation. Also, because of how much she was struggling, Kari may be in a coma. So, we'll be keeping an eye on that as well. With that information, what we ask is that you and those close to her, speak to Kari in hopes she'll wake up sooner. Do you understand all that I've explained?" Dr. Hana asked after giving Trunks what information she could, watching him.

"Yeah, I understand. Thanks for telling me." Trunks replied, sighing and running his hand through his hair while holding Kari's hand.

"If Dr. Gage doesn't keep you updated; I will. I get all her information as well. Try to have a good rest of your night." Dr. Hana sincerely told Trunks before heading out.

"You may all go back in if you wish." Trunks heard Dr. Hana telling the others.

"What happened?!" Bulma and Vegeta demanded the moment they set foot in Kari's room.

"All I know is that the doctor is going to send Kari for a chest Xray and that until further notice, she has to wear an oxygen mask. Oh, and she may or may not have slipped into a coma. At least Dr. Hana was nice enough to tell me what she knew. I had to threaten the other doctor." Trunks answered, annoyed.

"Will she be ok?" Akio, Moroha, and Towa asked, concerned.

"One way or another." Trunks answered, holding Kari's hand.

"She's a fighter; she'll make it through." Setsuna insisted, watching Kari.

"The kid's right. She's part of our bloodline." Vegeta proudly stated, agreeing with Setsuna.

"My poor baby!" Bulma cried.

"Mom. Stop. One way or another, Kari will be fine. As Setsuna and Dad said: Kari is a fighter; she'll make it through this. If you cry over her like that, she won't come back as quickly. Just calmly talk to her." Trunks scolded Bulma before calmly telling her.

"For the kids' sakes, will you keep us updated?" Kagome asked, watching Trunks.

"Yeah, I can do that. And you can always visit whenever you want. I'm sure that'll help her as well." Trunks thoughtfully replied.

"Thank you. Well, we're going to head out; I have to feed my little monsters. We'll visit sometime tomorrow—unless you get out. Come on, you two." Kagome told Trunks before sternly telling Akio and Moroha.

"You two as well; come on." Sesshomaru simply told Towa and Setsuna, following Kagome.

"See you later. Thanks again." Trunks replied, thanking Kagome, Sesshomaru, and the kids.

"So—are you going to tell us what's going on?" Bulma and Vegeta asked, watching Trunks.

"Not here. And I'm not leaving Kari's side." Trunks replied.

"Trunks, what is going on? Why is Kari here?!" Bulma demanded, agitated.

"Mom, if you want to start demanding answers about MY daughter; you can go home. I'm sorry, but right now isn't a good time. Right now, I need to be concentrating on Kari. Not giving you information. Kari comes first. And if I tell either of you what happened to her, aside from the fire at that daycare, you'll flip your lids. And we don't need that in the hospital—or in public at all. I promise I will tell you what's going on as soon as we get to either your house or my house. Not here." Trunks firmly told his parents.

"Fine. But we had better get some answers." Vegeta responded.

"You could always tell him at work tomorrow and then he could tell me when he got home. That way, he could take his aggression out of stuff there." Bulma suggested.

"I'm not leaving Kari's side for anything or anyone—including work. Cut my pay or whatever: I don't care; Kari is all that matters to me." Trunks frustratedly replied.

Knock. Knock.

"We're here to take Kari Briefs for a chest Xray." A lab technician spoke, walking in with a gurney before Bulma or Vegeta could say anything else.

With Kagome, Sesshomaru, & Kagome's Mom:

"There you are. Where have you been?" Aya asked, watching Kagome, Sesshomaru, and the children walk up to the house.

"We were at the hospital." Kagome answered, unlocking her door.

"What? What happened? Are you three ok?" Aya asked, panicked.

"Kids, go to your rooms for now. Take Towa and Setsuna with you." Kagome told the kids.

"Yes," "Mom." "Aunt Kagome." Akio, Moroha, Towa, and Setsuna replied and went to Akio's room.

"Akio, Moroha, Towa, Setsuna, and I are all fine. There was a fire at the daycare and Kari Briefs was greatly affected. Trunks and Sesshomaru had to work late, so they asked if I would pick up Kari, Towa, and Setsuna along with Akio and Moroha. I agreed; I had no problem with that whatsoever. The first thing I noticed was Kari was coughing a lot. I thought she was starting a cold or something, so I gave her some water and sent her with Akio and the girls to Akio's room for a nap or something. Moroha came running out a few minutes later, saying Kari collapsed. I went running. I had to do CPR and called for an ambulance. She came back after coughing up some smoke. From what we understand, the principal of the daycare took Kari's inhaler away, claiming she was on drugs. She's three and has no clue what drugs are. She recently just has a massive attack and couldn't breathe. She now has to wear an oxygen mask and may possibly be in a coma. So, Trunks, her father is a wreck. Akio and Setsuna are just fine. Towa and Moroha are also fine, but did have some smoke in their lungs, so they were given temporary inhalers. Oh, and on top of all that, the new daycare teacher they were given, was touching Kari." Kagome explained, frustrated, walking to her kitchen.

"Oh, my. I hope the little girl will be ok. Not having her inhaler is probably why she's in this situation in the first place. She's their first friend outside of the family, right? I think you were saying that before you took them to daycare." Aya replied, watching Kagome.

"Yes. Kari's such a sweet little girl. And despite being so young, Akio seems to have a crush on her. Moroha loves having a best friend her age—not part of the family. And Towa and Setsuna even seem to really like her. Like they're father, they don't really trust anyone." Kagome answered, getting out some steak burgers and rice.

"Stop. You go sit down and relax a little; I'll make the food. Talk with your mother." Sesshomaru sternly insisted, kicking Kagome out of the kitchen.

"Fine." Kagome agreed before walking to the living room.

"What brings Sesshomaru and his girls over anyway?" Aya asked, curious.

"I offered to feed them because it was so late. Probably a good thing too. I'm so frustrated, I can't see straight." Kagome replied.

"What are you going to do about childcare during the day?" Aya asked, concerned.

"Well, I have no job; I'm just going to stay home with Akio and Moroha. I will also be watching Towa, Setsuna, and Kari for Sesshomaru and Trunks." Kagome answered.

"Are you going to be able to handle five kids by yourself?" Aya asked, concerned.

"I'll be fine. Since Inuyasha's been gone, Akio and Moroha behave for me just fine. Sure, they still have their moments, but they're not as bad as they were before. I think it has something to do with Kari as well, though. Towa and Setsuna are always well behaved—and pretty independent. And Kari; she's so sweet, quiet, and shy, but she genuinely likes spending time with Akio and the girls. Aside from some personal trust issues, Trunks says she's usually well-behaved." Kagome answered with a smile.

"Good for you, Kagome. I'm so glad you're happy." Aya sincerely told Kagome, patting her shoulder.

"What will you be charging the parents for watching these children?" Kagome's grandfather, Gin, asked, walking in.

"Grandpa? Don't you knock?" Kagome asked, shocked.

"I was just walking by when I saw your mother's car and your lights on. I figured I'd come say "hi." But on a serious note: what are you charging these parents for watching their kids?" Gin explained before once again asking.

"I don't think I'm going to ask for anything; it doesn't feel right to." Kagome replied, shocking Gin and Aya.

"I don't know what you and Trunks are planning, but I will be paying you for Towa and Setsuna. Two-hundred-fifty per week. That's my offer. Take it or take it." Sesshomaru firmly told Kagome, not taking "no" for an answer.

"I guess I have no choice. However, two-hundred-fifty is too much. How about two-hundred even instead?" Kagome tried negotiating with Sesshomaru.

"Fine." 'Damn, woman. But I do love her. And even though they are also part of him, I even love Akio and Moroha.' Sesshomaru grumbled before thinking to himself.

With Akio, Moroha, Towa, and Setsuna:

"Akio, are you ok?" Towa asked, concerned as Akio plopped, face down, on his bed.

"Of course, he's not ok; he's all wigged out!" Moroha exclaimed, climbing to sit next to her brother.

"Shut up." Akio grumbled, upset.

"It's time to stop denying and just admit you like Kari!" Moroha yelled at Akio.

"Shut up." Akio repeated, sitting up, going from upset to annoyed.

"Admit it! You love Kari!" Moroha exclaimed, jumping on the bed.

"Shut up!" Akio yelled, going from annoyed to agitated.

"What is going on in here?" Kagome demanded, walking in.

"Nothing." Akio defensively replied.

"Uh-huh. Sesshomaru's cooking dinner. You two: come say goodbye to Grandma and Great Grandpa. You two can come out as well if you'd like." Kagome ordered, watching Akio and Moroha before calmly telling Towa and Setsuna.

"Hi and bye, Great Grandpa. Bye Grandma." Akio and Moroha greeted Gin before bidding him and Aya farewell, giving them hugs.

"Bye, Akio, Moroha, Towa, and Setsuna." Aya told Akio and Moroha—and even Towa and Setsuna when she saw them standing at the end of the hall.

"Bye you four." Gin bid the kids farewell before leaving, followed by Aya.

"Ok. Go back to your room—or rooms. We'll call you in ten minutes or so, when dinner's ready. Moroha, leave your brother alone: stop picking on him. And for the love all that is holy: stop jumping on the bed. And Akio: relax a little; I'm sure Kari will be just fine. And no more yelling." Kagome told the kids before scolding Moroha and Akio. She also tried reassuring Akio that Kari would be fine.

Akio, Moroha, Towa, and Setsuna went back to Akio's room without another word.

"Admit it." Moroha kept pushing Akio.

"Moroha, leave him alone before he starts yelling again and brings your mother back—or worse: our dad." Towa firmly told Moroha.

"But she does have a point. You don't have to tell Kari or her dad, but it's clear you love her. It was clear the first day you saw her, and she started talking to you. You get so excited to see her every day. You even got excited to go to Daycare because she was there too. You hate it when she's upset and want to do all you can to help her feel better. And now: she's in a hospital, struggling to breathe, and you're all bent out of shape. Face it: you love her and there's nothing you can do or say to convince us otherwise. That being said: Moroha, you can't push him like you do; it's only going to get you in trouble—with Akio and your mother." Setsuna wisely informed Akio, Moroha, and Towa.

"Fine." Moroha grumbled, defeated—for now.

Akio just stood there, face flushing before the ever so rare tears started falling.

"Kids! Dinner's ready!" Kagome called down the hall.

Nothing.

"That's weird. Normally, at least Moroha would be charging out for food." Kagome spoke to herself as Sesshomaru placed the food on the table. But he was not going to set it; he already did enough of that at his house for him and the girls.

"Kids? Oh? Akio, what's wrong?" Kagome asked, curious at first before becoming concerned.

All Akio could do was cry.

"Girls, go wait in the kitchen. No eavesdropping: I will know if you do—Moroha." Kagome told the girls, realizing what was going on.

"Ok. As for you…" "Why her?" Kagome started when she was sure the girls weren't listening in, only to be interrupted by Akio.

"What do you mean?" Kagome gently asked, kneeling in front of Akio.

"You know what I mean." Akio replied.

"I know that. But you need to say what you mean. You have to let it all out. I can't help you unless you tell me what's bugging you—even if I do know already." Kagome calmly told Akio.

"Why Kari? Why did that have to happen to her? Why is she struggling so much? Why do I love her?" Akio asked, breaking down.

"I don't know the "why;" sometimes that just can't be answered. But I do know that she's the one you chose." Kagome thoughtfully told Akio.

"But she's so weak—and something tells me she always will be. What do I do? Dad would be furious that I like someone weak like Kari. You at least know how to use a bow and arrow. I don't think Kari will ever be able to do any of that." Akio confided in his mother.

"Who cares what your father thinks? All that matters is how you feel. And what is that? How do you feel?" Kagome sternly asked Akio.

"I want to be with and protect Kari at all costs—even if she never feels the same about me. But what if I turn out like Dad and hurt her?" Akio answered with tears in his eyes.

"Well, there you go. For now, you and Kari are too young for love. It's clear you understand it, but I highly doubt Kari does. Give it all time, and let time run its course. For now, all you can do is be her friend and protect her. As you get older and she starts understanding love a little more, you can maybe tell her how you feel, and see where it goes from there. But no matter what happens: never stop being her friend. And I promise you this: stick with me, and you'll never end up like your father—in that way. You already have his temper and stubbornness. Akio: if you truly love this little girl, you'll figure things out—as you both get older—a lot older." Kagome thoughtfully told Akio.

"Ok." Akio replied, wiping away tears and snot.

"All better?" Kagome asked with a small smile.

"I guess." Akio replied.

"Good. Now, let's go eat." Kagome insisted, standing up.

"Ok." Akio agreed, heading to the kitchen.

'Though, I know better; he will never love another like he loves Kari. I can see it in his eyes. I can hear it in his voice. That little girl, even though she's only been in our lives for a week now, is his entire world. She's become a big part of all of our lives.' Kagome thought to herself, watching Akio walk to the kitchen.

The Next Afternoon:

"Can we go visit Kari now?" Moroha asked for the umpteenth time while Akio moped on the couch. At the same time, Towa and Setsuna were watching TV.

"She's not even awake yet, Baby." Kagome replied, making something for lunch.

"How do you know? We haven't visited yet." Moroha asked before stating.

"Kari's dad isn't at work; he's staying at the hospital with her until she's better. Mr. Trunks works at his father's training facility with Uncle Sesshomaru. And he promised to keep his parents updated. His father, Mr. Vegeta, promised to keep Uncle Sesshomaru updated. And then both Mr. Trunks and Uncle Sesshomaru promised to keep me updated. I hate to say it, but Kari's most likely in a coma. Nobody knows when she'll wake up. But there is some good news: Mr. Trunks did call me earlier and told me that Kari's breathing settled down." Kagome calmly told Moroha before making sure everyone heard that Kari was breathing better.

"Did they find out why she couldn't breathe to begin with?" Akio asked, looking over the couch.

"Smoke from that fire and not having her inhaler. Despite what happened to her, Kari's one very lucky little girl. With how small she is, and how much smoke they said was in her lungs; without her inhaler, Kari should be in worse condition. But she got lucky enough to catch it in time." Kagome calmly explained.

"So, in other words, you're saying she should be dead?" Akio asked, panicked.

"Don't go there. She's alive and is going to make it. She just needs to wake up from her coma—or whatever it is." Kagome sternly replied.

"But wait. How could Kari have that much smoke in her lungs? We weren't near any smoke for long—maybe just a minute." Towa asked, watching Kagome.

"For some—like Kari—that's all it takes. How far away from the building were you all taken?" Kagome replied before asking, thinking of something.

"Just across the street." Setsuna answered.

"Why?" Moroha and Towa asked, confused.

"Just across the street? That's not that far. Could you see the smoke at all?" Kagome asked, watching the kids.

"Uh-huh. It was dark gray, almost black, and there was a lot of it. But it only lasted not long." Moroha quickly answered.

"It lasted an hour and a half. We had to sit in the grass and watch it." Setsuna added, shaking her head.

"Trunks is going to love that." Kagome sarcastically mumbled, rolling her eyes.

"Why is he going to love that?" Akio asked, confused.

"He's not; I was being sarcastic. You were only taken across the street and could see the smoke clearly from where you were. Plus, you add that there was a small breeze. The breeze most likely carried the smoke toward you while you were waiting. That's another way the smoke could've gotten to Kari like it did." Kagome calmly explained.

"What about with that lady came to get Kari?" Moroha asked, watching everyone.

"What?" Kagome asked, voice rising a little.

"Kari had to use the bathroom, so Mr. Gage called for someone to take Kari and bring her back." Akio answered.

"And when she came back, she was coughing a lot more than before. Mr. Gage gave her some water, and it helped a little. But she still coughed a lot." Moroha added.

"That's right. She was coughing more after that." Towa noted, remembering.

"Unfortunately, the only one who could tell us what happened isn't awake." Setsuna angrily mumbled, clenching her fists.

'Just who is this little girl? Setsuna never gets this worked up and protective of anybody except Towa, Moroha, and Akio.' Kagome thought to herself, watching the kids; they were all noticeably angry.

"What's going on here?" Sesshomaru asked, walking through the front door.

"Don't you knock?" Kagome asked, shocked.

"I did knock—several times: nobody was answering, so I came in. Now, what's going on?" Sesshomaru answered before once again asking.

"Nothing good. Akio, Moroha: get your shoes on; we're going to visit Kari." Kagome firmly told Akio and Moroha.

After hearing the tone in her voice, Akio and Moroha did what they were told and got ready.

"I'll see you later. You can see yourself out. Love all three of you. Come on." Kagome quickly told Sesshomaru, Towa, and Setsuna before ushering Akio and Moroha out of the house and into the van.

"What the hell is going on?" Sesshomaru asked, shocked and annoyed.

Towa and Setsuna took turns telling Sesshomaru what they told Kagome—on the way to the hospital; he was following Kagome.

Once at the hospital and in Kari's room, Kagome let Akio, Moroha, Towa, and Setsuna tell Trunks what they told her. He was beyond pissed off but remained calm for Kari and the others.

Kagome, Sesshomaru, and their kids stayed for another half an hour and talked to Kari, asking her to come back before Bulma, Vegeta, and Bulla came to visit.

Kari didn't wake up until around four in the morning the next day. She hasn't said much—about anything; she hasn't had the energy. She'll say "hi," "bye-bye," ask for something to eat or drink, watch TV, and let Trunks know when she has to use the bathroom. She just kind of dozes off and falls asleep when she becomes tired.

Now:

"Are you ready to go home, Sweetie?" A kind nurse asked.

"Go home wit Daddy?" Kari asked, looking from the nurse to Trunks.

"Of course, you're coming home with me. Where else would you go?" Trunks asked, placing his hand on her head.

"Wit da bad man." Kari softly answered, looking down.

"The bad man? Who's the bad man?" Trunks asked, taking Kari's hand in his.

"I no wan go wit da bad man. I wan go home wit Daddy!" Kari replied before she started crying.

"Ok. Calm down. You're coming home with me. I think we have to stop at Grandma and Grandpa's first. But then we'll go get some ice cream or something and head home. I promise you; I will not let any bad man take you ever again. Ok? I pinky promise you." Trunks calmly told Kari, holding out his pinky.

"Otay." Kari replied, wrapping her little pink around his giant-sized pinky (compared to hers).

"Good girl. Now, let's let this nice nurse remove everything, so we can leave." Trunks instructed, rubbing Kari's back.

Five Minutes Later:

The nurse got all of Kari's IVs out and then went to get her discharge papers while Trunks changed Kari into the new outfit Bulma got her.

They left as soon as the nurse left after giving him Kari's discharge papers and explaining everything.

"I should probably call Kagome and Sesshomaru to let them know you're out now." Trunks told Kari as they entered the waiting room area.

"Bye. Have a nice day." The receptionist politely told Trunks and Kari.

"Thank you. You as well." Trunks replied.

"Hey! Mr. Trunks!" Moroha yelled, getting his attention, along with everyone else.

"What's going on?" Kagome asked, not seeing Kari.

"Is Kari ok?" Akio asked, panicked.

"She's fine. I was going to call you once I got out to my car. I didn't think you'd come around until around three like normal: Kari just got released; we're heading out. She's—a little tired right now, but she's fine." Trunks replied before talking to Kagome and Sesshomaru.

"Your father closed early; he said he had to be home for something." Sesshomaru spoke first.

"Damnit… I told him not to do that this morning." Trunks cursed, rubbing his head.

"Daddy…" Kari mumbled into Trunks's shoulder.

"What is it, Baby?" Trunks asked, walking out of the hospital with the others following.

"You say bad word." Kari muttered.

"Shoot. Sorry. As long as you're able to stay awake, you're getting ice cream; I'll let you get an extra scoop for swearing today. How about that?" Trunks asked, rubbing her back.

"Otay." Kari mumbled.

"Are you sure she's ok to be leaving?" Kagome asked, concerned.

"Oh, yeah. That one I'm sure about. Give me a minute or two." Trunks replied, unlocking his car.

"Oh, and sorry for showing up early. Sesshomaru came to get Towa and Setsuna, and Akio and Moroha started begging to visit Kari. Towa and Setsuna also wanted to visit." Kagome told Trunks why they were there.

"That's fine. We'll leave in just a few minutes, Baby." Trunks replied before putting Kari in her car seat.

"What's going on?" Sesshomaru firmly asked.

"Did you find out anything about the lady who took her to the bathroom?" Kagome asked, concerned.

"No. I'll ask her about that tomorrow sometime. I don't want her to freak out and end up back in a hospital. I have to get going: Mom and Dad are waiting for me to bring Kari over. Honestly, aside from wanting to see Kari; they just want answers. But before I go, I need to ask Akio, Moroha, Towa, and Setsuna something." Trunks replied.

"Ok?" Akio, Moroha, Towa, and Setsuna asked, watching Trunks.

"Did you ever notice—or did Kari ever mention a bad man wanting to take her home with him?" Trunks asked, confusing everyone.

"No." The four answered, confused.

"Why do you ask?" Kagome asked, confused.

"The nurse asked if she was ready to go home and Kari asked if she was going home with me. I, of course, told her she was coming home with me. Then I asked her where else she would be going; she replied with the bad man. I asked her who the bad man was, and she just started crying; she wanted to go home with me and not the bad man. So, I promised her that after we visited Grandma and Grandpa, and then got ice cream, she would be coming home with me. I was just wondering if she told you anything—or if any of you noticed anything." Trunks explained, running his hand through his hair, frustrated.

"No, sorry." Akio, Moroha, Towa, and Setsuna apologized.

"No, it's fine. Thank you." Trunks replied with a small smile.

"What's on your mind?" Kagome and Sesshomaru asked, seeing something in Trunks's eyes.

"Umm… If you're not busy tomorrow afternoon, could one of you come over with your kids? I think it may be best if Akio and Moroha or Towa and Setsuna be with Kari when I ask about what happened when the lady took her to the bathroom. She may feel more comfortable with someone around her own age in the same room. And I know how much she trust them." Trunks answered and explained why he was asking.

"Are you not going into work?" Kagome asked, watching Trunks.

"No; I don't go back until Wednesday. Dad told me to take tomorrow off and just spend it with Kari at home or something—an easy day." Trunks explained.

"Oh. That's great. Sure, I can bring Akio and Moroha over when Sesshomaru comes to get Towa and Setsuna." Kagome replied with a smile.

"Just take Towa and Setsuna with and fill me in later. I'll leave you their car seats in the morning when I drop them off." Sesshomaru firmly told Kagome.

"Are you sure?" Kagome asked, shocked.

"Yeah. It would probably be best for Kari to have them all there with her." Sesshomaru insisted.

"Ok. Do you mind?" Kagome asked Trunks.

"No, that works even better. But we really have to get going now. We'll see you tomorrow. If you all want to tell her that you'll see her tomorrow; you can say "hi" to Kari real quick." Trunks replied before telling Kagome, Sesshomaru, and the kids.

"Yeah!" Akio, Moroha, Towa, and even Setsuna excitedly accepted Trunks's offer.

"Daddy?" Kari asked, confused when he and Kagome opened the back doors.

"You have some people who want to say "hi" and wish you well." Trunks calmly told Kari before stepping out of the way.

"Hi, Kari." Towa and Setsuna greeted from the door further away from Kari. At the same time, Akio and Moroha greeted her from the door she was next to.

"Hi, Akio an Moha an Towa an Sesuna." Kari softly greeted with a smile. They could tell she was tired.

"We know you have to go to see your grandma and grandpa now." Towa and Setsuna started.

"But we wanted to tell you that we'll see you tomorrow." Akio and Moroha finished.
