Chapter 2

Welcome to Haven

A knock on the door and voice saying Agents Parker, Tork where are you. Jazz got up put her brown hair in a ponytail and got changed went to the main room and saw Audrey talking to Agent Howard. Agent Howard said "oh yeah I'm talking about Miami. We been through this."

Then Jazz responded "being open to possibilities is how we close cases like that one."

Then Agent Howard said "It sends you down blind alleys too."

Then Audrey responded "Now where we grew up a blind Alley was even better than reality."

Then Jazz asked "where are you sending us this time."

Then Agent Howard said "Haven Main. Home town of one Jonas Lester. He escaped federal lock up 19 hours ago. He killed a guard doing it. Find Lester bring him back. Nothing Else that's your reality. You two are good agents Audrey, Jasmine and some day you might be a great agent just focus on the job."

Then Jazz thought "this is like the beginning of the show in my dream I had just without me in it."

Then Audrey said "put the book on table when your done with it."

Audrey driving and Jazz in the passenger seat listening to radio and suddenly the ground cracks and Audrey swerved to miss the opening and then they end up crashed half on and off a cliff. Then Jazz said "We're going to die."

Then Audrey said "There's no way we're dying to this" and turns the radio off. Then a man appears and makes Jazz and Audrey jump a little.

The Man said "need some help."

Then Audrey replied "no we're all right thank you."

Then guy respond "Okay" and left the window.

Then Jazz said "serious Auds why would you say no to someone that's trying to save our lives." He goes to Audrey's side and tells Audrey to unlock the door.

Audrey gets out of the car and it starts to fall and another guy little younger than the first grabs the back of the car and said "get her out." Then the first guy goes to the passenger side to get Jazz out. After Jazz was out the second guy let go of the car and the car falls.

The first guy then said "shame about the car."

Then Audrey said "it's a rental."

Then Jazz turns to the second guy who looked like a clone of a person in her dream and she asked "David?"

Then second guy said "who's David"

Then Jazz said "sorry thought you were someone else."

Then the two guys notice Audrey and Jazz have guns. Then the four of them pull their guns on each other. Then Audrey said "FBI who are you."

Then the older guy said "Haven PD who are you."

Then Jazz said "FBI are you death."

Then the younger guy asked "how do we know that."

Then Audrey said "Kay for starters we're wearing the guns on our belts. Government issued 9mm and they gave me one of these Audrey reaches inside her coat.

Then the Older guy says "Hey leave your hands where we can see them."

Then Jazz said "what do think she's going to pull out, another gun."

Then the two guys nod and Jazz and Audrey show them their IDs.

Audrey said "come on we showed you ours. Then the two guys showed Audrey and Jazz their IDs.

Then Audrey asked "so are all your roads this bad."

The older guy said "sand stone likes to sift."

Then the second guy said "can we give you a ride some where."

Then Jazz said "I guess it's friendlier then we commonder your vehicles."

Then the older guy said "probably less paper work too."

Then the younger guy opened his passenger door and Jazz climbed in an the younger guy went to the driver seat.

Then Jazz asked "you haven't seen a Jonas Lester recently have you."

Then the younger guy said "seriously we just left him."

Then two cars went to the crime scene. Audrey and Jazz are looking over the body. Then the two guys show of with a older guy who said "keep looking all you want he seems pretty dead tends not to change much."

The older guy said "Chief Warnos, this is."

Then Audrey said "Special Agent Audrey Parker."

Then Jazz said "Special Agent Jasmine Tork."

Chief then said "oh it's the FBI. Is this one of those situations where your claiming to help but your her to step on my toes."

Then Audrey responded "not in these shoes. We came here looking for him."

Chief Warnos said "yeah we got the alert when Jonas here escaped."

Then Jazz said "the Bureau thought he might return to his home town. I guess he did."

Then as Jazz and Audrey were searching the body Audrey said "ah somebody missed something, there's writing on it I can't read what ever it is but it is worth checking it out." Then the piece of paper was put in an evidence bag.

Then the younger guy said "we'll send it to the lab in Bangor.

Then the chief said "why don't you enlighten us. What do the FBI special agents have in the way of insight."

Then Jazz replied "well , his injuries don't suggest a struggle."

Then Audrey said "We don't think he was dragged here."

The chief then said "you don't."

Then Jazz responded "He died last night but your guys are going to have to give us the exact time."

Then Audrey replied "at first glance it looks like he fell from up there" they look at the high cliff and Jazz continued "but his body is way to far from the edge. Unless there's a cannon or something up there."

Then Audrey said "we're not sold on it being an accident."

Chief Warnos then replied "you're over thinking this the best thing Jonas Lester ever did for this town was die as far as I'm concerned, we're done."

Then Jazz said "He killed One of our people, and we're not done investigating until we find why he came back and what happened to him."

Then Chief Warnos said "Nathan, Brandon, get yourselves a real crime to investigate."

Then Nathan asked "Chief how about we show Agent Parker and Tork around as we the up loose ends?"

Chief Warnos then replied "Go waste their time with it they got nothing else to do with it."

Audrey gets on the phone and started talking "It's Parker Lester's dead. Their calling it an accident but Tork and I both think something's not right. Chief Warnos doesn't think so. We're working with the local detectives ah.."

Nathan replied "Warnos."

Then Brandon replied "Darden."

Then after hanging up. The four of us went up to the cliff and Audrey said to Nathan "you call your dad Chief."

Then Nathan replied "I call my boss Chief."

Jazz then asked what's his deal testing us."

Then Brandon replied "not you, it's us my parents passed away and Chief sort of took me in and he's been a little tough on Nathan and I."

Jazz then said "sorry."

Brandon then replied "okay."

Then Audrey said "no offense one of the reasons I want to solve this case is to piss him off."

Then Nathan said "good one "

Then Jazz said "I guess that's one good reason being raised by the state not much parental contact."

Then Brandon then replied "so you guys are orphans."

Then Audrey said "we're free agents."

Then they walk passed a sign and Jazz asked "Tuwiuwok, is that Native American."

Then Nathan said "Mig ma yeah. It means Haven."

Then Audrey responded "it's easier to spell I guess."

They stop when they see Lester's foot prints. Then Jazz said "looks like he was chasing another set."

Then Audrey said "and Lester's end abruptly right here."

Then Brandon said "could be."

Then Jazz said "uprooted trees that's weird."

Then Audrey asked "do you get tornadoes up here this time of year."

Then Nathan said "maybe once a year."

Then Jazz replied "something did a number to those trees."

Then Brandon said "no wind last night I checked."

Then Audrey said "you did."

Then Nathan said "couldn't find a cannon either."

Nathan and Audrey found a hat and gun."

Then Nathan said "nice gun but Lester wasn't shot. I did find this."

Then Jazz said "a hat."

Then Nathan said "I know I guy who wears a hat like this."

Then Audrey said "so do I but that doesn't make it evidence."

Then Nathan responded "well Lester stoll all of my guy's money."

Then Jazz then replied "so now that makes it evidence."

Then Audrey said "let's go talk to your guy. The four of them head back into town and went to talk to Conrad.

The Four of them drive back into town they got out of the cars and Jazz asked "who's this guy"

Brandon then said "Conrad Bower."

Nathan replied "gulf war vet, local handy man went into the service with Lester. Conrad came out as an unemployed hero while Lester came out as a looser with computer skills."

Brandon then said "did time stealing va benefits from guys he went in with."

Audrey then said "including Conrad"

Nathan then said "Hey Conrad"

Conrad "Nathan, Brandon"

Brandon then asked "Helping Marion again?

Conrad replied "That's what I do."

Brandon then said "we found you hat on Tuwiuwok Bluff."

Audrey then hands the hat other and Conrad replies "Thank you, I appreciate it" as he takes the hat. Jazz steps closer asking "were you up there yesterday."

Conrad then said "maintain the perimeter. Please"

Audrey then asked "what"

Nathan responded "Conrad has personal space issues."

Then Jazz stepped back and said "Pardon me Mr. Bower, and particular time you are going to answer our question" showing her badge, with Audrey showing her own badge.

Conrad replied "I was up there this morning I like to watch the boats head out. I left the hat I guess"

Audrey then asked "you never saw Jonas Lester?"

Conrad responded "not moving."

Jazz then said "But you did know him."

Conrad then said "In the service."

Audrey then said "right and when he got out he stole all your money."

Conrad then replied "Not just mine I know where you're going."

Brandon then said "Conrad yesterday late afternoon evening where were you."

Conrad responded "Digging clams Out to Edgewater Bay. Till sunset.

Audrey then turned to Nathan and Brandon and said " All right, you two speak monosyllable. You want to try to break through his perimeter while Jazz and I go inside and talk to the shop owner?"

Nathan then said "sure."

Brandon then said "we can."

Audrey and Jazz tried to go in to the and Conrad said "where are you going"

Audrey then replied "Mr. Bower if there's something you want to tell us just go right on ahead. Fog comes in and covered everywhere Jazz then said "that's weird."

Audrey then said started screaming "Conrad."

Nathan then said "he's gone. They hear a car horn and someone on a bike said "look out." Audrey and Jazz see Brandon and Nathan in the Road and Audrey said "Nathan watch out." Audrey pushed Nathan away and it was heading for Brandon and Jazz said "Brandon watch out." Then Brandon did a flip over the car and pulled on it's trunk keeping it from moving.

Audrey is with Nathan while Jazz is with Brandon. Jazz then said "you a regular Superman. How about your friend so he can't feel pain."

Brandon then said "It's called idiopathic neuropathy. It's more like he can't feel anything. Almost like loosing the sense of touch."

Jazz then said that was strange "I've never seen fog like that before."

Brandon then said "Maine gets lots of kind of fogs."

They met up with Audrey and Audrey said "I just checked in with Howard."

Brandon went to the ambulance.

Jazz and Audrey get stopped by two men one short with no hair and glasses and the other tall with curly hair. curly hair one said "you must be Agent Parker, and you must be Agent Tork. I understand your investigating Jonas Lester's death."

Audrey then said " you are…" Dave then said "Dave Teagues my brother Vince Publishers, editors, and every damn thing else in the Haven Herald.

Vince then said "We thought Lester'd be our lead, but now it'll be the fog.

Jazz then said "Yeah. That fog was strange, right?"

Dave then said "Well, welcome to Haven."

Vince then said "keep feeling like I've seen you two before."

Dave then said "didn't sound creepy at all. "

Vince then said "Oh, Lord. It does."

Dave replied "Doesn't it? Only because you said it, Vince. How about we drop by later and you can answer a few questions about the case?"

Then Audrey said "How about we just call you?."

Then Vince said "Oh! Fierce, isn't she?."

Then Dave said "Well, change your mind, drop by."

Then Vince said "We serve Mai Tais at 3:00."

Brandon came up to them and said "So you just met Dave and Vince"

Brandon then held out his hand and counted "in one, two, three." They heard Nathan saying "Agent Parker. MRIs are overrated."

Jazz then said "you got him down to a science"

Brandon then said "working years with him dose that."

Nathan said "Let's go talk to Marion."

Brandon then said "They will be. This is Audrey Parker and Jazz Tork with the FBI. Marion Caldwell."

Marion then said "This is my friend Ted Ford."

Brandon then said "why don't you and Agent Parker stay here and Agent Tork and I will check about the gun."

Brandon and Jazz are back at the office and It got a call Brandon answered it and after talking hung up and said "Gun trace came in. Brandon called Nathan and said "Gun trace came in it's Duke's." Then Brandon hung up and said "they'll meet us at the boat."

Jazz then asked "Duke?"

Brandon then said "Duke Crocker he's a smuggler."

Jazz then asked "how is he as a person."

Brandon then replied "besides that, if you ask Nathan he would say he is a total pain in the ass. But deep down he sees Duke as one of his best friend. Nathan does not know this but it was Duke who got Nathan to keep his Job. Let's just say for me I was a little cooler to hang out with then Nathan."

Jazz said "so that gun puts him on the hill."

Brandon then said "it would if it didn't match the one that was reported stolen."

The four met up on Duke's boat and Nathan then said "everything about this guy is a pain in my the ass."

Brandon then said to Jazz "told you."

Audrey said "just because he wasn't home."

Brandon replied "Dukes not home again. Nathan's been telling you how untrustworthy Duke is right."

Brandon said "Duke is telling the truth he did report it."

Nathan replied "I don't care if he reported it it's his gun and he has to explain it to me."

Audrey said "you could've told me that before I went and talked to him he's not all bad he saved my life and then he served me coffee."

Nathan replied "I knew him since he was five he's all bad."

Jazz then asked "then why does Brandon not agree with you?"

Brandon said to Jazz later "Duke picked on him."

Nathan asked "what's this"

Audrey replied "instant hail storm starts in town and heads to sea. There is something strange going on here."

Brandon said "so it's weather weather's weird."

Nathan replied "forensics restored the paper we found on Lester's Body. I turns out its from the tide calendar on Duke's boat. It's boring but real evidence."

Jazz took it from Audrey and said "wai what do those numbers mean."

Nathan said "that's what I plan on asking him. Are you coming?"

Audrey replied "No you two go we have enough to take care of with Conrad and the weather."

Nathan said "Suit yourself."

Brandon and Nathan left to head to Duke's boat.

Audrey and Jazz walk in with Conrad and Audrey saw Duke and asked "what is he doing here. Never mind I can guess."

Nathan asked "what happened to you too."

Jazz said "you'll never guess. Just let Duke go Conrad's our guy."

Brandon said "like I told you this time he's not the guy."

Nathan replied "I don't think so."

Audrey said "Did your guy confess?"

Duke raised his hand and said "No he did not."

Nathan said "Conrad, you're saying you did this."

Conrad replied "yeah Nathan that's what I'm saying."

Duke said "thank you sir" stands up "can I go now."

Nathan said "sit down. Conrad come with me."

Jazz said "We know you didn't kill Lester."

Brandon said "but you still saw Lester."

Duke said "here's the thing I have a rule more of a guideline I don't talk to Cops. Even Cops that I like."

Audrey said "Don't push it."

Duke responded "Lester wanted me to run him up to Canada."

Nathan said "yeah"

Duke replied "yeah, but smuggling escaped felons is not on my too do list."

Nathan said "you're really buying this story of Conrad's."

Jazz said "what happened to Lester happened to us."

Audrey responded "He blew us down the street."

Nathan asked "He blew you down the street."

Audrey said "I can't even begin to explain it alright but it happened and it happened to us."

Jazz said "we know it sounds crazy We can't believe we're saying it."

Nathan replied "I can't believe it either."

Audrey said "what am I supposed to do pretend it didn't happened what kind of Cop does that."

Brandon said "you'll know how that will sound on the witness stand."

Jazz "We know we don't have it all together,"

Audrey was at her computer and Jazz was standing next to her and Vince and Dave. Vince then said "we have a little presnt for you two."

Dave said "relax it's not a puppy."

Vince handed them an envelope and said "this could be why I thought I recognized you two."

Audrey said "Oh"

Audrey opened the envelope and pulled out and old newspaper clipping that the Title read Who killed the Colorado Couple." The picture had two women identical to Audrey and Jazz just with different hair on a beach with a young boy in the middle of them and are looking at two bodies at the pier a woman and a man.

Jazz thought "wow even the show is altering with me in it, I still want to know why Brandon looks like David and the newspaper is no longer the Colorado Kid. Looks like he didn't marry Arla I wonder how she will now fit in. Also why Brandon wasn't in the show."

Jazz asked "who are they."

Vince said "I was hoping you could tell me. You guys have family around here."

Audrey said "we don't have family anywhere."

Nathan called Audrey and said "We traced that number Lester ended up with a different boat."

Jazz and Audrey got out of the car and headed to Marion Audrey said "Marion"

Marion replied "this doesn't concern you."

Jazz said "look around you Marion all of this is you."

Audrey said "Marion, listen to us you hurting people and your going to keep hurting people."

Jazz said "the wind that killed Lester, the fog, the hail, all of this you're doing this."

Audrey said "you need to make this stop. Let it go."

Jazz replied "Just let it go."

Marion starts crying.

Audrey said "we know" and they come towards Marion and embrace her.

Jazz said "Its okay."

Audrey and Jazz took Conrad to Marion who was at the beach."

Audrey brings flowers into the office Jazz and Brandon follow right behind her they see Nathan on the couch Audrey puts the flowers down and Jazz picks up the newspaper clipping.

Nathan responded "Lilies and laics."

Nathan said "you still believe that."

Audrey said "and you still don't"

Jazz said "If you ruled every else out you have to accept what's left."

Nathan replied "I guess I'm not ready to rule everything else out yet."

Jazz said "I already know Brandon believes it."

Brandon said we know that picture."

Audrey said "you do."

Nathan said "The Colorado Couple Murder. "

Brandon said "The chief was a beat cop on that case and he never solved it."

Nathan replied "which I try to remind himself of whenever I can."

Brandon said "can we see it. Sure looks like you two."

Jazz responded "yeah, Yeah we know."

Nathan said "What do you think they're your mothers or your aunts."

Audrey replied "really I don't know. Yeah every other kid I knew except Jazz here, dreamed that their parents would come and claim them and turn out to be Rock Stars. We just dream, well never mind."

Nathan said "to late to stop now."

Brandon said "Jazz you want to explain."

Jazz responded "We just dream that our Mother's would roll up in big busses and they would rescue every kid, in every orphanage in the world and bring them home."

Nathan replied "Maybe it would be a good Idea to let that one go,"

Audrey responded "Yes we wish we could" and she took back the newspaper clipping."

Audrey and Jazz are at the spot where the picture was taken. Audrey takes out her phone and Howard answers it "Howard."

Audrey said "Boss, you know that vacation time Jazz and I never take, We need a few weeks. There's something we need to look into."

Unknown to the both of them Howard is watching them "No problem, you two deserve it." He hands up with her and calls someone else and said "they're staying. Maybe they could help you with your troubles." And he hangs up and gets in his car and drives away and the road breaks apart."

Author's Note: Sorry its so late. I'm still trying to figure out how they can cancel out Brandon's trouble and what exactly how he fits. Also I had an ended for the series in mind but reading other Haven fanfics gave me ideas. I also got a new lap top. So I don't know when I will update this hopefully sooner then 4 years. I didn't forget.
