Chapter 29: Tag Team Battle!
[The battle between Blight Twins and the Team of Gus and King begins, Edric makes the first move as he zips towards Gus]
[Edric jumps over gus and goes for an ax kick]
[Gus is surprised as Edric appears above him, but is too late as his ax kick manages to hit him]
Gus: GAGH!
Edric: Thunder Leg!
[Edric jumps to perform a round house kick and throws Gus into the corner]
Gus: Nice, but I can do better than that!
[Gus creates signs with his hands, and mixes a little bit of illusion magic]
Gus: Illusion style! Shadow Clones! Ten fold!
[Three Shadow Clones emerge from the smoke as they begin their assault]
Edric: (Clones huh? They should be easy to take down!)
[Edric moves fast as he heel kicks one of the clones]
Gus Clone: HEH!
Edric: Huh?
[The shadows clone explodes into fire]
[Edric manages to avoid in time]
Edric: What the?!
[The Clones of Gus swarm Edric]
Edric: (So one of these guys is the real Gus! But the others are have been booby trapped, this is going to be difficult, but it won't be enough to take me down)
[While the Edric is distracted with Gus's clones the real Gus devises a plan]
Gus: (With Edric distracted, my fool proof plan is in action, with Edric's low intelligence he'll likely hit more clones than find myself, he already guessed that some of them have been booby trapped but not all of them are the same.)
[Flashback to three days ago]
[Gus and Luz finish their traning with Kotoha]
Gus: Hey Luz, can I ask you something?
Luz: Oh sure what's up buddy?
Gus: I was wondering if I you could give me suggestions of tools to add to my arsenal.
Luz: *curious* What for?
Gus: Well lately when I make my Shadow Clones self destruct, it's mostly with destructive Spirit Energy and it takes a lot out of me. Plus when I use my weapons they also take use up my aura.
Luz: Hmmm. Wait I think I might know a way to help you out with that.
[Luz pulls out a few of her glyphs]
Gus: Glyphs?
Luz: Well since your clones blow up with waves of energy, why don't you add some glyph magic to make your clones.
Gus: Hmm. That's interesting, what did you have in mind?
Luz: Well I was thinking, if you could leave some glyphs in your clones, they can serve as booby traps.
Gus: OH! I think I'll try that!
[End of Flashback]
Gus: (Each of my clones have one of Luz's glyphs within them, and the best part is, the glyphs go in at Random, so no matter where you fight, something different will always pop up! And if he takes all of that damage, it might leave an opening!)
[Meanwhile King and Emira continue their battle with King dodging multiple flamethrowers]
King: WEH! WEH! Gotta keep my distance!
[Emira spins her arm as she releases another fire ball]
Emira: Pyro Ball!
[King turns around and slices the flame orb with his cutlass]
King: My turn!
[King flies towards the other twin]
Emira: A frontal assault! To easy!
[Emira launches a flame at King]
King: Tick Tock Croc!
[Peter Pan appears and transforms into the Voracious Crocodile! It opens its jaws and consumes the flames]
Emira: What?!
[King flies past the Croc and headbutts Emira in the chest]
Emira: *oof*
[King swings his sword and Emira evades each swing]
King: HAHA! Now you'll how fearsome I am!
[King swings downwards to finish her]
[Emira blocks it with her Flame Fans]
[Kotoha watches from above]
Kotoha: Alright! Let's see how this comes in handy.
[Emira summons her Spirit Power]
Emira: Phoenix Wing!
[A wing of fire emerges from her back]
Emira: time to get serious!
King: *nervous* Oh boy!
[Emira swings her fans as she parries King's sword attacks]
[Emira flies up and waves her fan down, creating a wave of fire]
King: Tick Tock Croc!
[The crocodile returns and attempts to swallow the flame, is blown away and dissappears]
King: Okay, looks like we are doing this the hard way!
[King flies circles around Emira]
[Emira darts her glance as he moves at Mach 1]
[King zips past Emira and lands an attack!]
Emira: OW! Where did you?!
[King lands three more hits]
Emira: OW! Damnit!
[Emira summons her Phoenix]
Emira: Phoenix Flare!
[Emira releases a shockwave of fire]
[King is then blasted far]
King: Ow!
[King is blasted so far that he runs into one of th Gus clones, which explodes into a trap made of vines]
King: Hey!
Gus: Oh crap King!
[one of the Gus's untangle King]
[Edric sees a chance to attack the both of them]
Edric: Gotcha!
[Edric runs towards King]
King: Weh!
[King cuts off the plants and shoves Gus in front of him]
Gus: Hey what are you doing?!
King: Sorry Gus!
[Edric pushes the Gus with his foot, but once more he runs into a trap and encases his leg in ice.]
Edric: Not again!
[The real Gus uses his Everlasting Yoyos]
Gus: Nue, Everlasting Yoyos Extend!
[Blue flmaes emerge, and demonic eyes appear.]
Edric: *confused* What the?
[The Yoyos begin to laugh maniacally]
Edric: *confused* OH SHIT!
[Before the Yoyos, could sink their fangs, Emira generates another Fire wave and forces the Yoyo demons to flee]
Emira: *annoyed* Seriously Ed? I thought you were supposed to be fast?
[Emira melts the ice]
Edric: Have a little faith!
[Edric runs circles around the arena]
Edric: (Gotta go faster!, lets kick it up a notch! Mach 4!)
[Edric moves faster than a bullet.]
[Gus holds onto his Yoyos]
Gus: Keep your eyes peeled King!
King: Got it!
[Gus and King try to track his movements, but Edric moves too quick that they can't keep up with him]
King: Where is he?!
[A bolt of lighting crashes onto the floor]
G and King: WHOA!
[Both are launched into the air]
Gus: He can use Lightning?!
King: I don't think we can make it out of this!
[Thunder begins to roar, and another lightning bolt comes down onto them]
Gus: There!
[Gus grabs King and Jumps out of the way]
Gus: If Edric is moving at super sonic speeds, then maybe I can try this!
[Gus gives a command to his clones and they all create hands signs]
Gus: Alright boys! Let her rip!
[All the Gus's release purple fire from their hands while other launch their Yoyos to track him down]
Edric: WHOA! NOT COOL!
[Edric slides and evades the beams, on his tail however are multiple clones of Yoyos]
Edric: I don't think they can keep up with this!
[Edric stops in the midde and begins to do the flare, gathering all the coming beams and yoyos into a twister]
King: Uh oh!
[Edric uses his legs to throws some of the fire balls and Yoyos, all across the ring]
[Some of the blast almost hit Emira]
Emira: Hey Edric watch where you're aiming those things!
[Edric lands on hs feet]
Edric: Sorry!
Gus: Left yourself open!
[the Twins notice that the Tick Tock Croc had gotten larger]
Emira: What are you doing?
King: throw it up Tick Tock Croc!
[The Tick Tock Croc belches the content within it's mouth into a beam of destruction]
[Edric manages to dodge, but Emira is not so lucky and begins to descend]
[Meanwhile the other members of Shatter Squad are amazed with Kings new ability]
Eda: Wait, where did King learn that?!
A.X.E.L.: I may have taught a thing or two.
Willow: What do you mean?
A.X.E.L.: Well if King's Tick Tock Croc can absorb power, I gave him an idea of how he could expel that energy into destrucive beams. Since his Spirit Power only eats, I thought a move like that would be beneficial to his arsenal.
Luz: Looks like it to me.
[Emira continues to descend, after a few more seconds she keeps herself under control and maintain her balance in the air]
[Edric appears in front of her]
Edric: You good?
Emira: Yeah, just scratch. But don't worry about me, just keep your head in the game!
[Emira waves her arms in a circle and shoots more fire]
Gus: Not good enough!
[Gus summons Nue as he summons one of his clones to defend him]
[Once the flames land on impact, a smoke screen is formed]
Edric: Smoke?
[Ed and Em go back to back, watching out for any kind of ambush]
[Both observe their surroundings, until the six remaining Gus's all jump from above and comet towards them with their Everlasting Yoyos]
[the twins leap into the air and spin as they release a circle of fire and lightning]
[but somehow they didn't hit their target and have been absorbed by King's power]
Edric: Not again!
King: Fire!
[the Crocodile expels another destruction beam]
[Only this time Edric sacrifices himself and stands in front of it]
Emira: Edric!
[Edric falls to the ground]
Amity: oh no!
[Everyone sees Edric lying on the floor]
Coco: Is he going to be okay?
Lilith: He's not done!
[Coco turns her attention towards Lilith]
Coco: What?
Lilith: There are no bruises on him. He must have done something.
A.X.E.L.: Nice power of observation. Very interesting.
Lilith: I tend to look at things from a different perspective.
Amity: Wait, you mean he's fine?
Lilith: *calm* Just watch.
[Amity then watches her brother and notices that he is vibrating]
King: Haha! Got him!
Gus: No. It's not over yet!
King: What?!
[Edric continues to Vibrate]
Edric: You think you're the only one with Energy Absorption?!
[Edric booms through as fast as Mach 5]
Gus: Watch out! He's comi-
[Gus is kicked in the stomach]
[Gus gags]
King: Gus!
[Edric spins his arms and fires a bolt of lighting out of it]
King: GAGH!
[Edric once again runs circles around his opponents]
Gus: If this guy is going fast maybe I can do this!
[Gus meditates and enters the Spirit Realm]
Gus: There you are!
[Gus returns to his body and attacks Edric, Edric slides under his Yoyo]
[And lands another hit in]
Gus: Damnit! Better try again!
[Gus attempts to the same idea 5 more times and ends up getting hit almost all of them]
[He tries once more and truly focuses]
Gus: Got him
King: Gus watch out!
[Gus reacts in time and dodges Edric but then out of nowhere Emira's Phoenix Flame is thrown at him, King saves him with Tick Tock Croc]
Gus: Take this!
[Gus creates his 20 Shadow Clones and surround Emira]
Emira: I'm not going down like this! Phoenix, lend me your Power!
[The wings of the Phoenix encase Emira in flames]
[her eyes glow as a huge fireball as bright as the sun hovers above her]
Emira: Let me show you a true dance!
[Emira unfolds her fire fan and releases bits of flames that resemble cherry blossoms]
King: Not on my watch! Peter Pan! Lend me your Power!
[Tick Tock Croc returns to his Peter Pan form and lends King every bit energy is had]
King: Let's do this!
[King's cutlass comes a blade of Shadows]
King: Time to see what's truly strong, the light or the darkness!
[An army of Pixies show up and clash with the burnt petals, some exploding on impact]
[Somehow these bits were also landing on each other creating cuts and burns]
Emira and King: Finishing move!
[Emira spreads her wing and fan arm, and punches the massive fireball]
Emira: *serious* FIRE FIST! FLAME NOVA!
[King shoots himself towards Emira]
King: Become swallowed by the Darkness! Blade of Gluttony!
[The Sword creates a mouth for itself and tries to scarf down the giant flame, but the beast ends up disappearing and King rushes in once more to finish the fight, Emira does the same thing]
[Both perform a cross counter and knock each other out, and an explosion worth 20 tons of tnt comes from the Flame Nova attack]
[The peanut gallery is shocked by the amount of power in the fight]
Luz: King! Emira! Are they okay?!
[The smoke begins to clear, and it reveals that both of them are knocked out]
A.X.E.L.: King and Emira are unable to fight!
Willow: Whoa! That was intense.
Eda: Hang on, that's only the girl twin, where's the other one!?
Edric: Right here!
[Gus looks at his surroundings and find Edric running towards him, only leaving Gus to grin]
Gus: Alright! Time for the finale! Nue lend me your power!
[Nue appears, he and Gus creates ninja hand signs and a sliding door closes]
Gus: Special Move! Dance of the Shadows!
[Edric is confused but is then striked countless times by Gus's Shadow Clones!]
Edric: GAGH!
[The sliding doors open and reveal that there were a 2000 clones in the arena]
Edric: What the?!
[Edric becomes nervous]
Gus: Explosive style! 2000 Cloned Destruction!
[The Clones then self destruct around Edric, Edric tries to Run out of the Explosion but is caught in the blast]
[Gus tires himself out and falls to his knee]
Gus: Got him!
[he then senses someone's aura]
Gus: (Hold on!)
[Edric still stands and spins his arm]
Edric: I can't lose my first fight, even if it is a sparring match! So I'll just have to take you down with me!
[Edric runs at Gus one more time, Gus struggles to get back up, but suddenly, Edric trips and crashes into Gus, both stumble onto the ground, Gus still conscious, but he finds Edric is knocked out as well]
Amity: Edric is unconscious! Did he lose?
Kotoha: YEAH! THAT'S MY STUDENT!
Willow: Pops, did he just?
West: He used too much energy, awakening it for the first time while using that much power can take a lot out of you.
Coco: I guess that means?
A.X.E.L.: THE WINNERS BY KNOCKOUT ARE GUS AND KING!
[Gus begins to wheeze as he is shocked by the event that have happened]
Gus: (I don't count this as a win though. Just a bit more and Edric would have won the whole thing. That was some serious power though!)
[West stares at the three unconscious fighters]
West: Get them to the recovery unit. I'll talk to all of them when they wake up.
Coco: Yes sir!
[Hours later, Edric wakes up in the recovery unit]
Edric: What the? What happened?
[he then remembers the match]
Edric: Wait, the match! Em wake up!
[he turns to see his sister still asleep]
Edric: Em! Emira!
West: Easy there kiddo.
Edric: *gasp*
[Edric discovers West on a chair with his arms crossed]
West: Your sister is fine. Just resting from the fight.
Edric: *disappointed* Did we?
West: No you didn't, you fell unconscious after Gus used that move on you.
Edric: *saddened* Oh.
[Edric falls back on his bed and sighs]
Edric: That sucks.
[Edric covers his eyes his arm and begins to sniff]
[West is alerted of tears]
West: You good kid?
Edric: yeah, I'm fine, it just sucks that we lost.
West: If you want to cry about it then go ahead.
Edric: What? No, I'm not crying. Us Blights can't show weakness.
[West stands up and walks to side of Edric's bed]
West: Remember what I told you. It's okay to cry, show weakness, and to lose all the time. Because losing is essential to anyone's success. Because the more you lose, the more you'll want to win.
[West wipes the tears off Edric,]
West: And besides, this is only your first fight and you've shown how far you two have come in a few weeks., and if you and your sister keep training, you'll be able to take down tougher opponents in the future.
Edric: You really think so.
West: I know so.
[Edric sniffs with tears still in his eyes]
Emira: Uh what happened?
[Edric then turns to see that Emira is awake]
Edric: Emira!
[Edric runs up and hugs Emira]
Emira: Whoa! OW! I'm still in pain!
[West chuckles a bit]
West: You two get ready for Lunch, A.X.E.L. is making Fish and Chips.
Edric: I don't know what that is but you can count me in! Come on Em!
Emira: Ugh, fine.
[Everyone is in the mess hall getting ready for supper, meanwhile Luz cheers up King]
King: *annoyed* I can't believe I fell unconscious!
Luz: King, don't worry about it. You still won.
King: But it wasn't my victory!
Luz: Oh King.
[Edric and Emira enter the room with West]
Amity: Edric! Emira! Are you guys okay?!
[the twins giggle a bit]
Amity: What's so funny?
Emira: It's funny to see how worried you were after that whole thing.
Amity: Of course I was worried!
Edric: Aw is Mitten does love us!
[Both rubs Amity's head and mess up her hair]
Amity: *growls* Now I wish you two would stay unconscious.
Gus: Hey, is Lunch ready yet?
A.X.E.L.: Don't worry, just need to add the finishing touches.
[Eda and Lilith assist A.X.E.L. in deep frying the fish]
Eda: So there's Alcohol in this stuff?
A.X.E.L.: Well technically yes since it's beer batter, but the alcohol won't affect your head.
[A.X.E.L. continues to make the mashed peas and chips]
[Willow looks over the counter]
Willow: A mashed plant dish. Can I do a taste test?
[A.X.E.L. gets a spoon full of Peas and hands it to Willow]
A.X.E.L.: What do you think?
[Willow tastes the peas]
Willow: Needs more salt.
A.X.E.L.: Gotcha.
[A.X.E.L. adds the salt returns to stirring]
[An alarm blares]
Kotoha: Hey Arthur's back.
Eda: Whoa really. I've been meaning to talk to him lately.
[Footsteps approach the mess hall door]
[Luz gets on her feet and runs to the door]
Luz: I'll go get him. Be right back.
Amity: Wait, Luz.
[The door opens for Luz and at the same time for Arthur.
Luz: Oh Arthur you're back.
[her eyes widen in shock and she falls back]
Luz: *gasp*
Eda: Luz you alright?
[Eda then gasps at Arthur's appearance]
[in their eyes, Arthur is covered in wounds and bruises, he also has a black eye]
Arthur: *weak* I'm...back.
[Arthur faints]
Raymond: Oh my god!
Coco: Arthur!
Lilith: What happened to him?!
[Coco checks for a pulse]
Coco: There is a pulse, but it's faint, get him to the recovery unit.
Kotoha: Arthur!
[Luz watches as they all tend to Arthur's wounds. Amity notices the fear in her eyes]
Amity: Luz?
[Amity reaches her hand out but Luz crawls to see him]
Luz: Arthur! Arthur!
