Chapter 35: New Recruits Pt. 2
[With all that has happened over the course of the past couple of weeks. From Shatter Squad training the Hexside students, Skara becoming Raymond's research partner, and the Multitrack students becoming A.X.E.L.'s students along with their skirmish with Sharkface. Some people think that they would be training more afterwards. But...]
King: *groans* I'm so bored!
[Shatter Squad has given everyone the day off. The Owl House gang, alongside the Blight twins, Skara, the multitrack kids and Raymond, all hangout in the Owl House goofing off.]
Gus: So this "video game" as you call it is known to be the most fun game of all time.
Raymond: In some cases yes, but there are moments where the player just rage quits.
Gus: What does that mean?
Edric: TITAN DAMMIT!
[Edric begins to get furious with this certain boss battle]
Edric: This skeleton guy keeps killing me!
[Raymond points at the Male Blight]
Raymond: Like that.
[Edric continues to play the final boss over and over and dies every time]
Edric: AGH!
[Edric throws the controller]
Edric: I HATE THIS GAME!
Raymond: NO! MY CONTROLLER!
[Jerbo manages to snag it in the air in time with his Bungee Gel]
Jerbo: Got it!
[Raymond sighs in relief]
Raymond: Thank you Jerbo!
[Raymond walks up to him to get it back, but Jerbo refuses to]
Hyde: Who said I'm giving it back! I want a turn!
[Raymond groans]
Raymond: Fine but you better not break it like Edric almost did.
Edric: IT'S NOT MY FAULT! THAT SKELETON GUY IS TOO POWERFUL AND FAST!
[Emira uses sarcasm]
Emira: I thought you called yourself the fastest witch alive?
Edric: I am the fastest witch alive thank you very much.
Emira: I mean sure you're fast physically, but your mind, I can come up with a bundle of words besides slow.
[Edric feels disheartened and sulks on the couch]
[Viney elbows Emira softly]
Viney: Hey don't be too hard on the guy, it's his first time using that human device. I mean it can't be that hard.
Jerbo: Nailed it!
[Jerbo manages to beat the final boss]
Edric: What? How did you do that?!
[Edric walks over to Jerbo to see how he did it]
Hyde: I'll never tell. MWAHAHAHAHA!
[Jerbo attempts to escape but Edric uses his powers to grab hold of him]
Edric: You are not going anywhere! Until you tell me!
[Edric and Jerbo continue to argue, meanwhile Gus continues to chat with Raymond]
Gus: What other human items do you have?
Raymond: I got this thing.
[Raymond pulls out a tiny box of cassette tapes.]
[Gus is immediately fascinated by them]
Gus: What are they exactly?
Raymond: Some of my old cassette tapes that my dad used to own.
[Raymond pulls out the cassette player]
Raymond: you put a tape into this box, and it plays music.
[Rock music begins playing from the tape]
Gus: I like the sound of this. What's it called?
Raymond: Bohemian Rhapsody, a song made by one of the greatest bands of all time! For some reason my dad was really into this stuff.
[Skara interrupts]
Skara: Ray-Ray are you listening to your Cassette tapes without me again?!
[Emira and Viney chuckle]
Emira: Ray-Ray?
Raymond: It's a nickname Skara came up with.
Skara: And it will stay as long as we're friends.
Raymond: Do you have to announce it to everyone?
Skara: Yes, because A, it's cute, and B you said it was okay
[Skara immediately wraps her arm around Raymond, with him embarrassed by the moment]
Raymond: Understood.
[Emira and Viney begin to understand the situation]
Emira: Do you think?
Viney: Yup they definitely like each other.
[Gus ignores everyone and begins to ask about Raymond's dad]
Gus: What's your dad like?
Skara: Yeah I'm also curious?
[Raymond raises an eyebrow and begins to explain about his past]
Raymond: Well technically my dad was a member of Project Roundtable, like Arthur and West, he went by the codename, Gareth. Sadly he died shortly after they disbanded.
[King is confused]
King: Disbanded? You know I remember you telling us that on multiple occasions, but you never actually explained why they disbanded in the first place.
[Raymond rubs the back of his head and chuckles]
Raymond: Wish I could say, but that information is confidential. Only the remaining members know what happened.
[Viney then immediately remembers something from their battle with Sharkface]
Viney: Hey Luz said that the members of Roundtable had these Alpha fragments right?
Raymond: Yeah why?
Viney: If I remember correctly, A.X.E.L. also possessed one. I think the name was Chi.
[Willow interrupts]
Willow: The Alpha's senses?
[Raymond is amazed that she knew that]
Raymond: How did you know that?
[Willow giggles]
Willow: Pops and I have student teacher bonding time. One of the conversations we had was the Alpha's fragments. I learned about all of them over the time we spent with you guys.
[Willow explains the different Fragments]
Willow: From what I've learned, each member of Roundtable had their own Fragment each representing a certain emotion. Omega is anger, Chi is the senses, Sigma is ambition, Iota is the timidness, and Delta is the logic. And that's every fragment we've encountered so far.
[Raymond is shocked that Willow is knowledgeable about this topic]
Raymond: Well someone had been doing their research.
Willow: I learn from the best.
Viney: But do the fragments give you the power to do that thing.
Raymond: What thing?
[Jerbo and Viney attempt to describe the moment A.X.E.L. and Sharkface clashed]
Viney: It was like they were simultaneously attacking each other,
Jerbo: But when they were about to clash, their bodies barely touched each other. It was like...
[King interrupts]
King: There was a mysterious force trying to prevent it from happening?!
Viney: Yeah like that?!
King: I actually witnessed something similar to that!
Jerbo: You did?
King: Back when Luz went on her first mission at the Conformitorium, that Tank guy came bursting through the walls, Pops stepped up to challenge him and both were about to punch each other, then that same event happened! But just so you guys know, I could have managed to take him down myself!
Gus: Says the first person on our team to get knocked down during the tag match.
[King squeals]
King: WHE! THAT NEVER HAPPENED, I WAS SLEEPING!
Willow: Nope you and Emira knocked each other out all together.
[King does his squeal of rage]
[Emira picks him up]
Emira: Hey calm down dude, we're just messing with you.
[Emira snorts]
Emira: Sorta.
King: That's not helping!
Kotoha: That moment you are speaking of.
[Kotoha enters the room with Mattholomule and Amelia]
Kotoha: It's called a Conqueror's Clash
Gus: Oh hey Kotoha.
[Gus notices the other two people. And glares at his arch nemesis]
Gus: What are these two doing here?
Mattholomule: Oh come on Augustus, do I not have a right to be here?
Gus: To me you do not. But if you're here to steal more human items for the HHS, you'll have to pry them out of my cold dead hands!
Mattholomule: Is that a challenge?
Gus: Maybe.
[Gus and Mattholomule stare each other down to the point they start a sissy fight]
[Kotoha becomes angry and bonks them hard in their heads]
Kotoha: Knock it off both of you!
[Kotoha keeps whacking(punching) them until they stop]
[Gus and Mattholomule are left on the ground with multiple bumps around their heads and faces]
[Skara runs to Amelia as she squeals seeing one of her best friends joining them]
Skara: Oh my gosh! Amelia you're here too?!
Amelia: Oh yeah, after Kotoha saw me awaken my Spirit she convinced me to join her squad. And now I'm an official member of the group.
Skara: Oh man, all we need now are Boscha and Kat, and the group will be complete!
Amelia: Yeah now that I think about it, where is Boscha?
Kotoha: Will you too be quiet?! I was about to explain something!
[Skara and Amelia wince in fear of Kotoha's anger]
S and A: Sorry.
[Willow clears her throat]
Willow: Kotoha, you were saying "Conqueror's Clash"?
Kotoha: Oh yeah, a Conqueror's Clash is basically when two Mighty Warriors use their strongest attacks against each other. Their attacks are so strong that they say that it's impossible to stop once it happens.
King: But why the weird energy around it?
Raymond: Well that's just both fighters releasing all their power into that single attack.
[The Owl house group is fascinated]
Kotoha: In the Knights of Chorus only five members are capable of performing this.
King: So there are Pops and A.X.E.L., what about the other members?
[Raymond is baffled]
Raymond: Oh Kotoha and I aren't even close to their level of power. You have to have years of training in order to perform that.
Skara: So who else on your team is capable of a Conqueror's clash?
Kotoha: Besides Pops and A.X.E.L. The other three members of Chorus are the most formidable fighters. Layla Sayuki, Luck Thaddeus, and the leader of Knights, Bonnie Hercule, also known as Pop's Mom.
Amelia: Wait what? But isn't Pops really old?
[Skara elbows Amelia, Kotoha raises her eyebrows]
Kotoha: West's mom may be older, but you'd be surprised about how foxy she is.
Emira: How foxy are we talking?
Raymond: Think of Eda mixed with your mom, but with Dark Orange hair, 7'5 feet tall and muscles.
[Emira and Edric have a thought bubble, Emira's pictured her as a muscular version of Eda with her mom's hips. Edric on the other hand thinks of a muscular man demon with his mom's face and sharp teeth]
Em and Ed: I think we're good.
[Willow begins to notice that they are missing someone]
Willow: Hey speaking of Eda, I haven't seen her at all today, neither her, Luz, Lilith, or Amity. Where are they?
[Kotoha begins to get unease]
Kotoha: Ever since Arthur came back with all those wounds, Luz has been sticking by him since then.
Gus: Wait, he's still asleep.
Amelia: We came from there a while ago because Pops told us to pick you guys up.
[Everyone is confused]
Willow: Pick us up for what exactly?
[Mattholomule begins to push himself back up]
Mattholomule: He didn't say, he and Principal Bump specifically told us to bring you guys to Hexside. Saying it was very important. He actually asked Bump to send it through text.
[Everyone begins to glance at each other wondering what this announcement was]
[Meanwhile Luz continues to stay by Arthur's side waiting for him to wake up, outside of his room are Eda, Amity, and Lilith]
Lilith: How long has it been?
Eda: It's been a few weeks now. Ever since he came back busted up, Luz comes here to check on him everyday. It's strange though, one day he leaves without saying anything, and next time he shows up he comes home with wounds all over his body.
Lilith: Which begs the question, who or what could have done this to him in the first place? Do you suppose a Demon could have been capable?
Eda: Unlikely, most of the stronger demons here are way too weak to even stand up to him.
Lilith: Emperor's Coven?
Eda: Also not likely, don't remember seeing that Tank guy on the news? If Luz can take him on, who says they can't.
Lilith: A member of Meta perhaps?
Eda: Still no. Meta only goes after armor pieces.
Lilith: Well I'm out of ideas.
Eda: Hold on, what about that other guy?
Lilith: Other guy?
Eda: The one guy from the rescue mission. I think his name was...
[Eda tries to remember his name, but nothing comes up]
Eda: I think it started with a "W"
Amity: Warlord.
[Amity interrupts and both sister are shocked she knows that name]
Amity: That man you guys fought was named Warlord.
Lilith: Oh him. That actually sounds like the most accurate suspect.
Eda: Very strong, gives off the brutal fighter vibes. Wait, how do you know his name boots?
[Eda tries to call for Amity's attention, but Amity stares at both Luz and Arthur]
[Having call backs from her encounter with the Council of Death, she still recalls the flashbacks from the Day of Unity, with Arthur standing atop Luz's dying corpse]
Eda: HEY BOOTS!
[Amity is startled and listens to Eda]
Amity: Oh sorry Eda.
Lilith: Are you alright Amity?
Amity: Of course, I'm just dozing off. What were you asking?
Eda: I was asking how you know Warlord? When he first showed up he tried to kidnap you.
[Amity sighs]
Lilith: Amity, if there is something you need to say, we're here to listen.
Amity: Warlord wasn't the one who attacked Arthur. But I have a feeling about who it might have been.
Eda: You do?
Amity: But you can't tell anyone I told you this.
Lilith: Our lips are sealed.
[Amity begins to explain her encounter with Ronin]
Amity: Do you remember the day I went berserk and broke Raymond's arm.
Eda: You mean when the Beta Fragment took over your body and started to go nuts. How could we forget?
Amity: Few days afterwards, I went to the Grom tree and reflected on my actions. Until I heard something from behind. That something was not only Warlord, but also another person. I think she was human but I couldn't tell what she was when she had that mask on.
[Eda and Lilith take a quick look at each other trying to understand the story]
Eda: What happened after that?
Amity: This girl told me I can trust her. She even helped me find what kind of Spirit Power I have. And how to control the Beta fragment, sorta.
Lilith: What else did she say?
Amity: After staying with her, she told me something about Arthur. That Arthur is not what he seems.
Eda: So you're not the only one.
[Amity is shocked]
Amity: You noticed it too?
Eda: More of a hunch. Ever since we first encountered Arthur, Luz said that she has been having recurring nightmares. It's hard to explain but Arthur seems to be hiding something from us. Something about Luz's past.
Amity: It was also strange for the fact he knew I was talking to Ronin. It was weird that he knew her name but seeing him knowing she was able to help me.
[Lilith places her hand on her chin and begins to think]
Lilith: If there is a possibility that they know each other. Why would Ronin attack him?
Eda: Maybe she knows something about Arthur we don't?
Lilith: Arthur has been keeping secrets hidden. The portal to the God Realm, how he knows about Ronin. He never actually told us why Project Roundtable disbanded.
Amity: I guess we're all on the same page.
Eda: But the problem is getting Luz to understand all of this.
Amity: Why?
Eda: Arthur is good at keeping secrets sure. But if Luz notices how genuine he is, you know he's a good person. It's not like he did anything to hurt her so far.
Lilith: They do seem awfully close.
[Amity tightens her fist]
Amity: So what do we do in the meantime?
Eda: I guess we wait for Arthur to wake up.
[There is a ring on Eda's scroll]
Lilith: What is it?
[Eda looks through it]
Eda: It's a message from Bump. He says he has something big to announce for us. Wonder what it is.
Lilith: Should we tell Luz that we need to leave?
Amity: I guess so.
Eda: No, Boots, you and Lily need to go to School, if West is involved in this it must be very important.
Amity: But Eda!
Eda: I got it Boots. Just trust me on this one, whatever this announcement is you should probably be there.
[Amity sighs knowing she can't argue with Eda]
Amity: Alright I'll go but make sure you and Luz meet us there in time.
Eda: I got it.
[As Amity and Lilith leave the room, Lilith summons her Palisman to fly the both of them to Hexside.]
[Everyone of the students manage to arrive in the gym as everyone is confused about why they are all called there.]
[Willow spots Amity as soon as she enters]
Amity: Willow.
Willow: Oh Amity, guess you got the message to huh?
Gus: Where's Luz?
King: And Eda?
[Lilith barges in to explain]
Lilith: Edalyn stayed behind to keep an eye on Luz and Arthur, but they will catch up.
[As soon as Bump and West enter the room, they are immediately confused, West walks up to A.X.E.L. and Kotoha]
West: What's going on here? There isn't any training today.
[Kotoha and A.X.E.L. glance at each other and turn to West]
Kotoha: But Bump said you had a big announcement? Figured it was something important.
[Bump is confused as well]
Bump: I didn't say anything about an announcement.
A.X.E.L.: But you messaged everyone on their Scrolls.
Bump: I did? I don't remember doing something like that.
Raymond: Are you sure?
Bump: Of course I am, I usually post announcements before or after school begins. Not when everyone is at home.
A.X.E.L.: Hold on so if you didn't call us here. Then who did.
[West immediately senses danger from outside the school]
Raymond: Something wrong Pops?
[West grabs his Ax]
West: We got company!
[An explosion is heard nearby as the students are in panic]
[Bump contacts the other teachers]
Bump: What was that?!
[One of the teacher's responds in a state of fear]
Teacher: Principal, Bump it's Meta! They're here!
[One of Watt's Troopers attacked the teacher and knocked him out]
[As most of them approach the school. Two members of Meta stand in the center prepare their weapons]
Pyro: This is Pyro! We are commencing the mission!
[Pyro launches himself in the air flies towards Hexside]
[Mohawk snickers]
Mohawk: HAHAHAHAH! LET'S GO TO WORK!
