Chapter 38: Enter the God Realm
[With almost everyone standing in the front of Raymond's new portal, the entire team gears up for what may be their toughest obstacle of the volume. Last to enter are Luz, Eda and King]
Raymond: I'm guessing we're all ready to head out?
[Everyone nods, Bump walks over to West and Eda]
Bump: I trust that they will be alright in your care?
Eda: Relax Bumpykins, knowing Luz and her friends, they'll survive.
Bump: Not really helping my case Eda.
[behind Eda, West touches her shoulder and interrupts their interactions]
West: They're our kids. And they've been through a lot these past couple of months.
[Bump nods]
Bump: I know, just be sure to bring them back safely..
[Bump turns his attention to Luz staring at the Portal]
Bump: Life is just very dull without them.
[Eda smiles]
Raymond: Hey Eda! Pops! It's ready!
West: Shall we?
[Eda chuckles]
Eda: So we shall!
[The portal begins to become wider and wider]
[King hides behind Lilith]
King: Just to be clear! Is this safe?!
[Raymond rocks his head side to side a few times]
Raymond: I'm 90% sure!
King: REALLY?!
Raymond: No wait! I meant 19% sure!
King: WEH!
Gus: SO HOW IS THIS GOING TO WORK?! DO WE ALL GO AT THE SAME TIME O—
[Luz runs past everyone and immediately dives head first into the portal]
Arthur: LUZ!
[Everyone follows her lead jumping in with her]
[As the other end opens up, Luz pops out of it and lands on her legs]
Luz: Huh? Well that was easy.
[Eda and Lilith pop out, followed by King plopping on Eda's head, then Willow, Arthur, Gus, Kotoha, and so forth.]
[the entire team observes their surroundings, expecting some better but as soon as Raymond exits]
Raymond: Well I guess we made it! Welcome to the God...
[Raymond looks around]
Raymond: Realm?
[Everyone stares into the distance]
Gus: When I heard of the God Realm, I thought it'd be fancier?
[The scenery they look at is what appears to be that of a fallen empire, covered in a lush jungle, each of the vines and trees covered with tons of strange fruits.]
Willow: So where are we heading?
[Raymond pulls up a tracker containing the coordinates One gave him.]
Raymond: Judging by this, it looks like we'll have to go, there?
[Raymond points to the path ahead]
Skara: This seems easy.
Lilith: With all those witches One got on his side, we should be lucky.
Skara: Why is that?
A.X.E.L.: You all saw what they all could do, so it's better this way than facing any other obstacles.
[Luz walks ahead of everyone once more]
Luz: Then what are we waiting for, let's get moving.
[As soon as everyone enters the pathway, the portal is about to close, but an stowaway gets caught exiting for portal unseen]
[Landing on his knees, dawning of the white cloak of the Emperor's Cover, the man raises his head and whistles from behind his mask]
Hunter: Well, isn't this interesting? Wonder what else resides here.
[The Golden Guard immediately teleports while keeping track of the "criminals".]
[During their walk some people seem to begin to talk amongst themselves]
[First being Edric and Emira]
Emira: Would you look at that, from pranksters to traveling to another dimension? If I was told that you and I would be doing this then I could have called me crazy.
Edric: Yeah.
[noticing the sorrow from Edric's voice, Emira tries to cheer him up]
Emira: It's kind of a bummer though, Amity's not here with us. Plus if Mom found out about this, she would flip.
Edric: Yup.
[Emira beginning to get annoyed, begins to talk straight with Edric]
Emira: Okay seriously what's your problem, normally you would be the one to be excited about this and then the next minute you start ignoring me.
Edric: I'm fine.
[Emira stops and shakes]
Emira: No you're not, I know when you're fine and not fine, and right now something is wrong. You can talk to me Ed, I'm your sist-
[As soon as Emira tries to hold him, Edric swats her hands away]
Edric: I SAID I'M FINE! JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!
Emira: Edric?
Edric: Didn't you say that you'd hate being stuck with me forever?!
Emira: I only meant that as a joke, where is this coming from?
Edric: THEN STAY OUT OF MY BUSINESS!
[Edric walks at a faster pace away from his sister, Emira tilts her head wondering what's going on with him]
King: Guess he's still traumatized after what happened.
[Emira looks at King]
Emira: What are you talking about?
[Uneasy with himself, King decides to tell Emira about the events at Hexside]
King: He's not only angry at you, he's scared.
Emira: But I don't remember doing any of that.
King: It was that blue woman who made you go crazy from what I remember.
[Emira then flashes back to the moment Mohawk Whispers into her ear]
Mohawk: Aren't you sick of your brother holding you back? Return to him the suffering you caused for all these years.
Emira: Mohawk made me do that?
King: Mhm.
[Emira becomes mad with herself, trying to keep it together, and with a new goal in mind, she begins to plan her revenge on Mohawk, and plan to make up with Edric]
King: I think if you explain it to Edric, maybe you'll be able to clear things up with him.
Emira: How am I supposed to do that?
King: After everything Luz told me about you and your twin. He's bound to forgive you eventually.
Emira: You know for a little guy, you sure know a lot about this stuff.
[King chuckles]
King: When you live with good people. You tend to learn this stuff, of course it's not hard for me.
[As the group continues to walk, Gus notices the fruit stuck to the vines]
Gus: Are those fruits? I haven't had anything to eat since we got here?
[As Gus is about to grab one, Mattholomule snatches the one he wanted]
Gus: HEY!
Mattholomule: Sorry squirt, first come first serve!
[As he is about to take a bite, a flame set the fruit on fire, forcing Mattholomule to throw it far]
Mattholomule: HEY WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!
[Arthur's Dragon disappears]
Arthur: I wouldn't recommend eating those.
Gus: Why?
Arthur: The fruit from the God Realm is where Spirit Powers originate.
Gus: What do you mean?
Arthur: When one in the mortal realm unlocks their power, the fruit falls to the ground and it's juice becomes the energy that travels to its new user. If you force it, then you'll suffer a fate most probably worse than death.
[Gus and Mattholomule look at each other, gulp and back away from the fruit]
[Willow watches Arthur in suspicion]
Willow: Hmm?
[Skara talks to Willow]
Skara: You okay Willow?
Willow: Just curious about something.
[As the two keep walking, Willow begins to question what's really going on]
[Arthur looks left and gazes a castle in the distance]
Luz: Arthur? Is everything alright?
Arthur: Yeah, uh, you guys go on ahead. I need to check something out.
Luz: I'll come with you.
[Arthur stops Luz]
Arthur: Luz, right now you need to focus on helping Amity and stopping One. And don't worry, this time, I'll be sure to come back without a scratch.
[Arthur summons a motorbike]
Arthur: I'll be there by the time the battle starts.
West: Be careful Arthur.
Arthur: Don't worry I will.
[Arthur calls Kotoha]
Arthur: Kotoha, make sure nothing bad happens to them.
Kotoha: You can count on me.
[Arthur rides in the direction the Castle is]
Luz: Where do you think he's going?
Eda: Probably somewhere he doesn't want us to know about.
[The group continue to press forward, Arthur continue to ride towards the castle, and on his tail, the Golden Guard]
Raymond: Don't worry guys, we're 1 kilometer away from our destination. We should be there in about 10 to 12 minutes if we go at a moderate pace.
West: Then let's take a break. Prepare everything you need. We'll get back to it in 5 minutes.
[The group rests after all the walking, Luz preparing her glyph for battle, Willow taps Luz's shoulder]
Willow: Can I talk to you? In private?
Luz: Hmm?
[Willow takes Luz somewhere they can't be heard]
Luz: So what's this about?
Willow: Luz, I need to ask how you've been these past few hours.
Luz: I've been okay, I guess.
[Willow knows she's lying]
Willow: So you're okay with Arthur keeping the secret of you being the Alpha, or Amity being kidnapped, or the fact that Arthur just ran off again without telling anyone what he's even doing?! Aren't you even a tad bit scared of what's to come?
Luz: Willow, don't worry, I'm fine.
Willow: No, I know when you're lying, ever since we met Arthur things have been crazy for all of us.
[Luz gets annoyed]
Luz: *anger* So what if I am, am I supposed to freak out at a moment like this?!
[Willow rubs her eyes]
Willow: Luz you know you can tell me anything. You've helped me through my worst, now I wanna be there for you.
[Luz sighs]
Luz: You're right, there is so much going on right now, I can't even process anything that's happened these past few months, with me being stuck on the Isles with no way home, the Emperor's Coven, Eda's Curse, Meta, and the fact that I'm some sort of weapon for a military project is a lot to take in! And now with Amity's life in danger, I can't even imagine losing anyone again! I'm scared that all of us might die. I dragged you all into this and if you guys get hurt it'll be my fault! I can't live with that burden! I don't even think I have what it takes to fight One. If Arthur or West couldn't do it, who says I can?!
[Luz's tears begin to run down her eyes]
[Willow grasps Luz's hand]
Willow: You know the first mission I said I was okay with you going. In truth I really wasn't. If helping us meant putting your own life on the line then it's crazy, but if putting your life on the line against foes that can kill you in one hit drove me to the point I would tie you down with plants and make sure you never left my sight.
[Luz looks at Willow]
Willow: I can't really tell what you're going through, but no matter the case, like Eda, Lilith, King, Gus, even Amity, we'll have your back. When I asked if you promised to come back alive and you did. I was relieved. But now, I need you to promise that after this whole thing blows over, we'll make it back together. Can you do that?
[Luz nods]
Luz: Yeah.
[Willow creates a magic circle creating an everlasting Oath]
Willow: The everlasting Oath is sealed. Now you know you can't back down.
[Luz chuckles]
Luz: I'm so glad you're my first friend.
Willow: Me too.
[Luz and Willow return and after walking for the remaining time, they all arrive at the Tower of Champions]
Raymond: *Whistles* Holy cow, we're supposed to get all the way up there? Guess we gotta do more walking?
[A twig snaps forcing the group to become suspicious]
[Willow touches the ground and senses her surroundings]
Willow: We got company!
[Everyone prepares their weapons to fight]
[Hundreds of Elites surround the group]
Viney: Seriously, how many people did these guys even take?
A.X.E.L.: Their numbers may be great, but they don't compare when it comes to combat!
[The Elites begin to attack, and the battle begins]
[Amelia summons her Kunai and cuts through two of them, 10 Elites circle her, Mattholomule counters by slamming both his fists to the ground, forming a crater/shockwave blasting away any opponents, Jerbo rides Barcus as he set Bungee Gel on all his target, he laughs maniacally and activates the trap throwing them all into each other into one huge ball of metal witches, Barcus reads the future and warns everyone of another coming attack, Kotoha, throws her swords cutting down two more, A.X.E.L. and Viney together kick down a bigger version, Willow Fires Arrows and lifts one up! She yells and throws it at a group causing them to fall. Gus follows up with shadow clones latching onto them and self destructing into different elemental glyphs. West notices a bunch running towards him, he tightens his grip and releases a massive punch, blowing tons of them across the area, Edric shoots lighting and dashes across all of them, crashing into each one that gets in his way, Skara and Emira stand back to back, Emira launches Fire balls, while Skara yells sound effects hurting more of them. King summons his Tick Tock Croc to munch on those that run away or run towards him, of course he uses his cutlass to cut them down. Lastly, Luz Eda and Lilith combine their wild magic and explode all the Elites block their way, and clearing a path into the tower]
West: Luz! You and the others go on ahead! We'll catch up with you!
Luz: Are you sure?
Skara: don't worry about us!
Viney: Just go save Amity before it's too late!
[Luz nods]
Luz: Thanks guys!
[Luz, Eda, King, Lilith, Willow, Gus, Emira, and Edric all make their way into the Tower as the rest fend off the Elites by themselves]
[Explosions can be heard from outside, the members of Meta, prepare for battle]
One: Places everyone! We have a few so-called heroes to crush!
Meta: Yes sir!
[One carresess Amity's chin]
Amity: You're not getting away with this!
One: My child, I believe I will. I'll make sure Luz meets you in your final moments, I wouldn't miss that if I were her.
[One walks away, as Viper walks past her, a clang is heard near the cell.]
Amity: Hmm?
[As Amity looks up she notices a key in front of her, she looks around and tries to figure out who gave it to her, with the key there a note attached to it, she opens and read what was on it]
Amity: Once Luz reaches the final gate, use this key to make your escape?
[She notices that there is a crown with a heart inside, she attempts to use the key but it burns her fingers]
Amity: OW!
[she sees the P.S.]
Amity: P.S. to make sure you don't escape before anything else happens, I rigged the key with a spell that prevents you from leaving until that specific moment arrives. XOXO The Queen of Hearts?
[Amity lies on her back]
Amity: DAMMIT! Guess I gotta wait here!
[The crew make it to the second floor and notice an arena]
Gus: What's this for?
Mohawk: GLAD YOU GUYS COULD MAKE IT!
[Pyro and Mohawk begin their descent]
Mohawk: Seeing as not all of you are here, I'm guessing either, everyone else died, or you guys went ahead, either or, I'm going to enjoy making you cry!
[Both land on the ground]
Eda: I assume that you're not going to easily let us pass?
Pyro: Even if we wanted to, we have our orders. That no one will be allowed to go beyond this level!
Mohawk; That's a huge no no for us, so which one of you losers wants to die first huh? I'll make it quick and painless?
[As mohawk begins to laugh, Emira becomes pissed off as she realizes what she did to her]
Emira: Guys, when I give the signal, make a break for the door and get to Amity!
King: I hate to break it to you, but you already lost to these guys once?! What makes this any different?!
[Emira stares at Mohawk]
Emira: Let's just say, I couldn't resist a rematch!
[Emira summons the Phoenix Wing and releases her flames at both of them, Mohawk dodges as Pyro protects himself with his own]
Emira: GO! NOW'S YOUR CHANCE!
[The group makes break for the gate, Mohawk notices them all]
Mohawk: WHOA! Can't have them leaving now can w-
[Mohawk is kicked across the face and driven into the wall]
Mohawk: OWWW! WHAT THE HELL?!
[Edric stands before her and paces himself, but this time more serious than their last fight, the Owl crew moves onto the next floor]
Mohawk: Oh you think you can take us?!
Edric: NO! But I'm ready to shove my down boot your throat just to shut you up!
[Mohawk laughs]
Mohawk: Confident, are we?!
[Edric and Emira stand side-by-side]
Emira: Hell yeah!
Mohawk: Guess I'll just have to wipe that smirk off the face of the Isles!
[Edric and Mohawk speed across the room crashing into each other hundreds of times while Emira and Pyro ready their flames]
[Final scene both teams charge at each other preparing for their rematch]
Ed and Em: IT'S PAYBACK TIME!
