Chapter 44: The Clawthorne Sisters' Part 2

Eda and Lilith charge at Sharkface; Eda makes the first move by launching a fire glyph.

[Sharkface defends with his abyss pool, then jumps over to chomp on Eda]

Lilith: "Stay back!"

[Sharkface bite lands on Lilith's sword]

Sharkface: Do you think that will be enough?

[Lilith smirks]

Lilith: You don't know the half of it!

[Lilith's sword transforms into the bone beast]

Sharkface: Crap!

[The Bone Beast shakes its predator off and throws him into the wall. It snorts and rams into him, sinking his body into the concrete].

Sharkface: You think you're strong!?

[Sharkface grabs the tusks and lifts them up]

Sharkface: Then you've never faced a megalodon!

[Sharkface pushes with his feet towards Lilith and Eda. Lilith lifts her arm and changes the beast back into her sword.]

Sharkface: Do you think your bone tricks will suffice?!

[Sharkface sharpens his claws and starts swinging his arms. Eda shields him with her blade, while keeping up with him in both speed and strength.

Sharkface: Let's see how long your swordsmanship can keep up with my claws.

Eda: Let's see?! I've been doing pretty well for a witch who's been cursed for thirty years!

[Both stop while pushing each other back].

Sharkface I'm guessing so because your old and frail body would be horrible for my tastes!

[Eda bends down and sweeps Sharkface off his feet].

Eda: I may appear to be old!

[Eda captures Sharkface with her Ice Glyph]

But I'm still foxier than you'll ever be, fish boy.

Sharkface: I wouldn't think so!

[Eda notices below that an abyss pool has appeared].

Eda: OWLBERT! CRAP!

[In the nick of time, Owl Bert flew her out of harm's way]

Sharkface: Checkmate!

[Sharkface's body dives into the pool, only to jump out of another with his body free]

Eda: How did you do it?

[Sharkface laughs]

Sharkface: Don't forget that the pools will help me in any time of need, and this is the perfect opportunity to take you down!

[Lilith flies on her staff and shoves Eda out of the way].

Eda: Lily?

[Sharkface latches onto Lilith and pulls her into the abyss].

Eda: LILY!

[Eda desperately grabs her sister's hand to save her from oblivion]

Sharkface: Get out of here!

[Eda is struck in the face, losing her grip. Lilith completely sinks into Sharkface's domain.

LY NO! says Eda.

[Eda bangs her fists on the ground]

Eda: You are a monster!

Sharkface: Don't worry, you'll be joining her soon enough!

[Both fight to the death, while Lilith is trapped within the abyss of Sharkface Megalodon.]

Lilith: What? Where am I?

She senses something hurtling towards her; she grabs her sword and moves out of the way. The Megalodon jumps out of the black and takes a bite out of the surface, swallowing it whole.

Lilith: I'm guessing that's the beast Raymond mentioned. I have to get out of here.

[Lilith senses the beast once more and jumps away. She scurries the area in search of an exit.]

Lilith: There has to be a way out of here!

[Just then, a tiny pool opens up and Lilith runs towards it.]

Lilith: That was fast.

[Just then, an icicle is launched at her; she ducks in time before getting stabbed]

Lilith: That was close! I'm guessing Eda is still fighting out there!

Lilith notices and dodges yet again.

Okay, so the most theoretical way out of here is through one of these pools, but judging by the size of each of them, I wouldn't be able to fit. Another problem is that the monster knows my every move.

[Lilith dodges again and again just to make sure she doesn't get eaten.]

Lilith: (All I know is Sharkface planted the pools everywhere across the field, and since the pool was below Edalyn, I guess I just need to find the exact pool that brought me here.

[Lilith dodges yet again.]

Lilith: Where could it be, though?

[Eda maintains his grip on Sharkface]

Sharkface: What's wrong? Are you just so frustrated that your sister is gone from your life?!

[Eda struggles to breathe]

Sharkface I thought she was the reason your life was ruined in the first place. Why continue to defend her?

[Eda screams and launches herself at Sharkface just to punch him in the face].

[Sharkface grabs her hand and pulls her in]

Sharkface: Really, Eda, I'm just saying that you're wasting your time!

Eda scatters more ice and fire glyphs.

[Sharkface laughs and blocks each one with his abyss pool.]

Sharkface: I thought you were better than that?

[Eda continues to do the same tactic again and again; Sharkface gets close to her and throws his claw]

[Eda uses her sword to block and Owlbert to whack him]

Sharkface: Do you really think that will get you anywhere?

[Eda and Sharkface parry each other's blade attacks].

Sharkface You still haven't answered my question! Why do you continue to defend your sister?

[Eda swings her blade and cuts his chest.]

Sharkface: So you won't answer my question? Then I'll just have to force it out!

[Sharkface stabs her in the arm]

Eda: AGH!

[Eda tries to keep it together and stabs Sharkface's arm]

Sharkface: HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

[Sharkface laughs and shakes both her and her sword off].

Sharkface: Honestly, what did you think that would do?

[Sharkface jumps at her once more; Eda pulls her arm off and whacks him in the face again to throw him off balance.]

Eda: It didn't accomplish much, but I promise I'll hurt you far more than you hurt me.

Eda reattaches her arm.

Is that a challenge, Sharkface?

[Eda grabs her sword and staff and begins to swing again].

[Back with Lilith, she continues to run for her life as a giant shark tries to eat her]

Lilith: This can't be the end of me! I just need to find a way out of here!

[Just then, more fireballs and icicles rain down from above]

Lilith: EDALYN! Would it kill you to not throw too many fire and ice glyps at once?

[Just then, the shark follows the sound and eats all the flying bits and pieces from the sky].

Lilith: Wait a minute.

[Lilith looks up and sees where most of the pools emerge from]

Lilith: Those must be the pools. And Sharkface is keeping them all could only mean

[Lilith makes a sudden realization.]

Lilith: Edalyn I get it now!

[As she yells this, the Megalodon charges after her, but Lilith holds her sword in both hands]

Lilith: Beast, come at me!I'm not to be trifled with!

[The shark opens its jaws, and Lilith continues to hold still.]

Lilith: NOW!

[Lilith jumps into the Megalodon's jaw as it snaps its teeth on her]

[The shark suddenly feels pain from the inside, as if something was trying to rip out of it.]

[Coming out of it's back was Lilith and her bone beast].

Lilith: Let's see if you can be steered!

[Lilith begins to control the beast through its flesh.]

[Back to Eda, she is too tired to fight].

Sharkface You know what? I think that after fighting you this whole time, I guess I know the reason you won't answer my question.

[Sharkface grabs Eda by the neck]

Sharkface You're too scared to admit that your sister, the one who has been there for you this whole time, is someone who would hurt you on purpose. Though you already know it, you just don't want to say it to my face, just to keep your pride in check.

[Sharkface laughs maniacally].

Sharkface I can say that I respect your love for your sister. But the fight you put up for the past couple of minutes just makes me sad. I thought there was more to the Owl Lady than the people of the Isles stated themselves. But I guess they were wrong. You're nothing but a powerless witch. Who can't even take down a member of my God's organization? Just think of the praise he will give me once he finds out how I took down both Luz Noceda and the Owl Lady herself. He will be pleased with my work and make me one of his horsemen of the apocalypse.

[Sharkface summons a large pool].

Sharkface: I hate to make this short, but I must get rid of you both and report back to my master. I hope you and your sister see each other in the afterlife.

[Sharkface drops Eda into the pit]

[Before Eda can barely scratch the surface, Lilith jumps out and grabs her from falling in.]

Sharkface: WHAT?!

[Both kick their opponent in the stomach and push him back]

Sharkface: You filthy wretch!How did you get out?

[Smiling Lilith and Eda]

Eda: I figured your pool had to originate somewhere in the abyss. After I saw Lily's face for a split second, I figured that I could send her a signal. I even had to fake my injuries, so hyo9

[Sharkface is shocked to hear this]

Sharkface: So it was all a mere distraction!

[Lilith laughs]

Lilith: On your part, it's strange to be easily fooled. Although it would have been better if you didn't throw too many elements at my face.

[Lilith punches Eda's arm]

Eda: What? I had to send you that signal somehow.

[Both sisters bicker and do not pay attention to Sharkface; his blood begins to boil and he screams in anger as he tries to get their attention].

Sharkface: Don't think you both will have the chance to get out of this alive! I'll devour you both if it's the last thing I'll accomplish!

Eda smirks, Lilith raises an eyebrow.

Eda: Well, if you want to finish us off, Then I suggest you do it in the next 3 minutes or so.

Lilith: Otherwise, you're in for a world of hurt!

[Sharkface extracts his claws and runs towards the both of them.]

Eda and Lilith summon their blades; all three of them clash with one another, landing multiple cuts and slashes on their own swords.

Sharkface: Die!

[Sharkface goes for Lilith's stomach, but Eda parries with her Owl Blade and throws him off guard; Lilith comes in and lands a large gash on Sharkface's torso; Eda then rolls over her back and pushes him with her legs; Eda then smashes the bottom tip of her staff on the ground, activating the glyphs surrounding the beast]

Sharkface: What?!

Sharkface's legs are wrapped in vines. As he attempts to cut them off, he gets caught in an explosion of fire glyphs.

Sharkface: Crazy Excitement!

[Sharkface increases his speed and strikes Lilith, leaving various cuts on her body. However, Lilith defends 50% of the time and uses Ice Glyphs to pierce his skin.]

Sharkface: You think that will stop me? I'll just end it with you two!Megalodon! Please lend me your power!

[The Megalodon appears from the ground with its mouth wide open].

Sharkface: "Great Devourer!"

[Before the shark can even move an inch, Lilith activates her own ability.]

Lilith: Bone Singing!Please assist me!

Lilith's body then shuts down. A few seconds later, her eyes glow and she begins to move on her own. She goes head first into the special attack, and activates a flurry of slashes just to take it down.

Sharkface: WHAT?! What did you do?

[Lilith didn't hit the shark but instead attacked Sharkface all over his own body].

Lilith: "Unconscious tone!

[Lilith snaps out of her trance and calls for her sister]

Lilith: EDALYN RIGHT NOW!

Sharkface: Huh?

[As the clock strikes midnight, Eda's body begins to radiate an orange aura].

[Eda raises her staff and a glowing ball of wild magic appears over her. It continues to grow and grow to the point where it can annihilate anything in its blast zone].

Eda: Soren! Time to end this!

[Soren appears behind her, and gives part of his energy as well.]

Eda: "Wild Midnight!

[Eda points the ball at her foes and hits it with her sword, launching it at Sharkface].

Sharkface: I'll just devour it like it's nothing!

[Sharkface uses his special attack to absorb it].

Sharkface: Wait, it's too much!

[The Great Devourer breaks and the ball lands on its target, blowing Sharkface away. The smoke begins to clear, leaving Sharkface floating on the ice. Eda walks closer to get a good look.]

Eda: To answer the question you asked me earlier, Yes, it's true that Lily cursed me and ruined my life. But I'm not the type of person to let a minor squabble get in the way of my relationship with my family.I can make her feel bad for it as a joke. But she's still my sister. And I will always be there for her.

[Lilith smiles]

Besides, if anyone is going to put her down, it's going to be me.

[Eda snorts, Lilith feels a tiny bit of fear]

[Sharkface is then teleported to a different location].

Eda: What the? Where'd he go?

Wherever he went, at least we don't have to deal with him any longer.

[Lilith and Eda fall on their knees]

Lilith: That battle took a lot out of me.

Eda: Same here. You think we should catch up to the others, though?

[Both struggle to get up but decide to hold onto each other].

I believe we should. Let's get moving!

Both sisters make their way out of the room.

[The second floor] Victor: Eda and Lilith.

Eda: Hey Lily,

Lilith looks at Eda.

Eda: Thanks.

[Lilith smiles]

Lilith: You're welcome.

[End]
