After Elena's first day of school, she is excited to see how the next week will go. Unfortunately for her, being the daughter of Alastor has its positives...and its negatives.

Ch 2: Bully

(Heart's POV)

The first week of school for Elena seemed to go well. Even though it was only for half a day for the week it seemed she was liking it. She told me that she was getting along with her classmates and loved her teacher. Part of me was worried about it all but it seemed to be going ok. She told me about the imp who sat with her, Sam, and how awesome she was. Made me happy to see that she was actually making friends.

Although I did notice that there was a strange hellhound boy that followed Elena out of school the last few days. It was only on the first day where we were allowed to come into the school and pick them up. After that they had to walk out of school themselves and go to the car. When I asked her if the boy was in her class, she said yes and that his name was CJ.

I tried not to worry about it and just tried to push my worried thoughts aside for the time being. I was just over thinking things. My daughter is in school now, I know she would be facing troubles and stuff along the way. I didn't want it to get to me yet. At the same time, I didn't want anything happening to my baby at school. Where I can't be there to help her.

Alastor and I tried to work something out schedule wise to make sure one of us was there to pick up Elena. I still work every other day at Giuseppe's and Alastor did his broadcasts. Plus, we still tried to go to the hotel. So, we figured out that the days I went to work at Giuseppe's Alastor would go and pick her up and he would just do morning and night broadcasts those days. When I had the day off from Giuseppe's and worked at the hotel, I would go pick her up and take her back to the hotel with me while Alastor did his afternoon broadcasts. It ended up working, but the real test would be the rest of the year when the kids had to stay at school the whole time.

If I wasn't worried before I was even more now. Elena had to be in school for the full time instead of half like before. They were actually going to be teaching them things. I feel it was just my overprotective parent side that got to the better of me. I couldn't help it. Alastor acted so calm but I knew that he was still worried deep down.

It was Monday again. A new week of school and Elena was just as excited as she was the first day. She woke me up again today like she did all last week and by this point I figured I would have gotten used to it. Not so much.

The said young demon was sitting on my chest as she looked down at me and I looked up at her with tired eyes.

"Elena, do you need to be my alarm clock every day?" I asked tiredly and then yawned.

"Yes!" The girl cheered as she was wide awake. "Need to make sure you get up to you know."

"Where do you get this energy from?" I whispered as I tried to rub the sleep out of my eyes.

"Daddy!" Elena answered.

When the girl said that I heard Alastor start to snicker beside me to hold in his laughter. He was rolled onto his side with his back facing me so I couldn't see his face. I went and gently smacked him on the arm. "No one wants your opinion radio man."

Alastor rolled over onto his other side to face me. "Now come come dear, don't be so miserable."

I sighed and put an arm over my face for a moment. "I'm surrounded by crazy people." I whispered.

"Only the craziest there is!" Alastor and Elena announced together.

I felt Alastor lean over and kiss my hand that still was covering my face. I looked up at him and just smiled softly. I took my arm away and looked to Elena, who still sat on top of me. "Alright. I'm up. Let me just get dressed for the day and I'll be right with you ok?"

Elena nodded excitedly. "Sure thing mom." She crawled off the bed and stepped onto the floor, "I'll be downstairs!" She said as she ran out the door and back down the stairs. Rufio was excited and followed the girl as well out the door.

Before I could register anything still going on, I then saw Alastor hovering over me with one of his toothy grins.

"Now what do you want?" I asked, slightly annoyed.

Alastor chuckled and wrapped his arms around me. "You're so snappy this morning. Are you sure you aren't pregnant again?" He joked.

I slanted my eyes. "As much as I think it's weird not having Elena around as much anymore doesn't mean I'm ready for another one honey." I leaned up and kissed his lips quickly. "No, I didn't get enough sleep last night because a certain deer kept me up."

The Radio Demon chuckled. "If I can remember correctly...you started it."

"Yes, but you kept it going." I added.

I saw Alastor's eyes glow for just a moment. "I heard no complaints."

A blush started to form across my face as I looked away from him. "Shut up." I huffed.

Alastor laughed and just leaned down to kiss my cheek. "We better get up dear before the little fawn comes back." He said as he rolled the other way and sat on the edge of the bed.

I said nothing as I sat up, gave a stretch and then walked into the bathroom. I did my business, took a quick shower, and got dressed. My hair was actually starting to get longer, I was growing it out now since Elena turned two and I wanted to try something new. I took a hair band and put my hair up in a ponytail as I walked down the stairs. When I got to the bottom, I found Elena in the kitchen at the table as she was drawing something with a crayon.

Noticing the girl was still in her pajamas I said, "Let's get you dressed Elena and then we can have something for breakfast."

The girl put her crayon down and got down from the chair. "Yes mommy."

We went into her room and got her dressed for today. She wanted to wear just some simple pull up jeans and a pink t-shirt that had a little sleeping deer on the front of it. Once she was all done, I made sure to let Rufio out so he could do his business. When he came back in we went into the kitchen and I started to make something for breakfast.

We decided on pancakes and Elena wanted them plain so that she could put some fruit on them. Mainly I cut up bananas and strawberries, she loved it like that. I made sure to feed Rufio as well, so the hound was taken care of as well.

When I was almost done making the rest of the pancakes for myself, Alastor came downstairs. He was going to be going to the station today and I was going to the hotel. Monday's were still my days with the patrons to do the art activities. We took Elena to school together though and I would drop Alastor off at the station before heading to the hotel.

Elena was about to take another bite when she turned to see Alastor. "Morning daddy."

Alastor smiled and patted the girls head, "Morning my little light. Are you excited for school today?" He asked.

The young girl nodded. "I am. I'm excited to see my classmates again. They are nice to me."

"That's very good. I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying yourself so far." Alastor said and then went to the counter to get his coffee. The deer demon walked up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist before he leaned over to give my cheek a kiss. He let go and went to grab his coffee.

I chuckled and shook my head slightly. I then looked at the girl at the table. "You remember about today Elena?"

Elena finished her bite and then looked at me. She put a finger to her chin for a moment. "Is it that I have to stay a full day at school today?"

Nodding, I answered. "Yes, from now on you have to stay at school the whole time. No more half days. You will be having lunch there too, I made you lunch just for a day. Plus, you're going to be learning stuff now this week."

I saw Elena's tail wag with excitement. "I remember! I am excited to see what we have to learn. I know my ABC's and I can count to 100 already."

"Plus you know your colors pretty well too." Alastor added as he sat down at the table with his coffee. "I'm pretty sure that is because you are so good at your drawings."

"Thank you, daddy." Elena smiled and wagged her tail from the complement.

We wanted to make sure our daughter would be ready for school. We of course taught her the basic things but there was a lot she learned on her own. She can be pretty smart, and I was happy to see her excited about school. I know she likes to learn things, sometimes I feel it might get her in trouble when she starts getting to the point of wanting to learn magic, but I'm hoping that won't be for a while.

Soon all the pancakes were made, and I sat down with a stack of my own and started to eat. Elena was almost done with her own. Soon breakfast was over, and Elena ran to her room and grabbed her backpack. As she went to her room Alastor helped me clean up the table and put the dishes in the sink. When she came back I put her lunch bag in her bookbag as well.

We then headed out the door and we all got into the car. Rufio was staying home today, I felt he wouldn't be needed today and I hope that is so. I was the one driving since I was dropping Alastor off at the station afterwards.

Soon we got to the school and I parked the car. Alastor got out and went to help Elena out of the car. He picked her up and put her down on the ground. I sat in the driver seat and was turned to look out at them.

"You be good at school today, ok?" Alastor told her as he grabbed her backpack from the back seat and helped her put it on.

"I will daddy don't worry." Elena reassured him with a big smile.

Alastor let out a chuckle as he gave her head a pat. He then kissed the top of her head and went to walk her across the parking lot to the front door of the school. I sat in the car and watched the two walk towards the school. Elena's small hand was inside her dad's and it was the sweetest thing I could see. They got to the bottom of the steps that lead to the school and stopped there. Alastor let go of her head and she ran up the steps. She stopped about five steps up before turning around and running back down to hug her dad around his legs. She let go quickly and then ran back up the stairs again and then disappeared into the school.

Alastor walked back to the car and I could see on his face that he was very content and calm. He got back in and sat there in silence a moment. Not even his radio frequencies could be heard.

Reaching over I touched his arm and he didn't even jump. "You ok honey?"

Alastor nodded, still looking forward. "I'm ok." He then looked at me and I saw he had mixed emotions in his eyes. "Reminding myself how grateful I am to have our daughter around. Definitely a light in my life." He leaned over and gave me a quick kiss on my cheek and then put his forehead to mine. "I love you."

I chuckled and smiled at his actions. "I love you too. I'll agree with you on that for sure. I think we are very lucky." I leaned in a little more to give him a soft kiss on the lips.

After a few moments of kisses in the car I finally started it up and drove away from the school and I took Alastor to the studio. Our child was out of our hands at the moment, we both just hoped she had a good day today.

(Third Person POV)

Elena was enjoying her first full day of school so far. She had lunch in her classroom with her small group of classmates and loved talking with them. Although she noticed that CJ wasn't talking to her as much as he was last week. Made her worry that maybe she did something to upset him. She didn't really want to think of it and tried to enjoy the rest of the day.

The demon she noticed enjoyed talking to her most was Sam. She was getting along with her well even though they didn't have that much in common. The young imp found the girl funny and nice to be around. The young wolf found the imp to be very energetic and very passionate in what she wanted to do. It worked out well.

They learned some basics today that Elena already knew. The ABC's, she was surprised that some kids had trouble, but she had to remember that every demon is different. Plus, she knew that sometimes parents couldn't be nice nor did they care. Elena found herself lucky to have her parents care enough about her to teach her what she needed.

Of course, Edward was able to keep up, his mom was a teacher after all. She always wanted to make sure he would be ready for school. She cared for her adopted son a lot and Elena could tell that.

CJ on the other hand, he was giving Elena the cold shoulder. She couldn't understand why. He was fine last week talking to her. Even over lunch he ignored her. She was wondering what his problem was. She would talk to him about it later.

They were in the middle of learning some colors when the teacher stopped them. "Ok everyone it's time for recess. Let's all head out to the back into the yard." She told them.

They all looked at each other in confusion a moment. It was close to being the end of the day, so they were expecting to be learning the last hour of school. They didn't know what recess was, but it sounded interesting. They put all their work away and stood up from the desk. They all stood at the door in a line and once everyone was there, they all headed out the door. They walked the halls a little till they reached the back of the school.

The back of the school was half grass and half concrete. The grass was like you could play kickball or even dodgeball on. The concrete has basketball hoops and squares on the ground to play four square. There were lots of possibilities and that made the kids excited.

There was some equipment still laying around from the other students that have been out there today. As soon as the teacher said it was ok to go and have fun the kids ran out and started to find something to play with. Elena was left behind as the kids ran off. Sure, the girl seemed to have fun classmates and she liked them but some of them seemed to split off into pairs. Some kids grabbed the arms of others, but not her. Made her wonder if something was the matter with her.

Elena put her ears back with a small sigh.

Mrs. Argo noticed Elena was left behind and she saw the girl's reaction. She smiled softly and kneeled down next to her to be at her level. "What's wrong Elena?" The avian demon asked.

The girl looked over to her teacher and put her ears up slightly. "Oh, it's nothing. I'm just trying to figure out what I want to do." She answered, lying as she was just shy to go out there with the other kids.

Mrs. Argo just gave her a reassuring smile. "I know meeting new people are scary but that is why I have you guys in your small groups. So, you can get use to one another. Why not seek out someone from your group and see if you can play with them?" She suggested.

Elena nodded as she talked. She looked around and saw CJ and three other kids from their class, one was an imp, another was an Incubus and the other was another hellhound. They were all standing and talking together as one bounced a basketball. She looked back to her teacher. "Thank you, Mrs. Argo. I think it's worth a try." Her tail wagged.

The avian nodded and smiled big as she stood up. "Now go on. Have some fun."

The young wolf deer nodded and went off to talk to CJ, she had to set things straight with him if she could. When she walked up to them, they ignored her and continued talking. She walked around until she was beside CJ. She gave his shoulder a tap. The hellhound looked over his shoulder and glared at her.

"What you want, Gryaznaya krov?" CJ asked with a small growl.

Elena didn't understand what he said because it was a language she didn't know but she just smiled and wagged her tail at him. "I wanted to know if I could play a game with you and your friends here?" She asked.

The group of four all looked at each other and then laughed. Elena was confused and tilted her head to the side for a moment. "I don't understand why that's funny. What I said wasn't funny." She then giggled. "If you want a funny joke you should ask my da-"

Elena wasn't able to finish her sentence, nor was she paying attention as the basketball was thrown at her face. It stopped her mid-sentence, and the ball went bouncing away as Elena now held her nose. She pulled her hand away and noticed her black blood on her hand. She now had fear in her eyes as she looked back up to them.

The girl didn't understand. Why did they do that? She never did anything to them. Maybe it was an accident. By the expression on their faces and their laughs, something told her that it wasn't an accident.

"Aw CJ come on! You lied! You said that when she bleeds stuff would happen." The imp whined.

CJ growled as he looked at the imp and he shut up. "Be quiet. I thought it would work." CJ turned back to Elena. "You're the daughter of the famous Radio Demon, aren't you? Come on and show us!"

"Yea, prove it!" The other hellhound boy said.

Soon the small group of boys started to chant 'Prove it' over and over again.

Elena's ears went back, and she was now scared. She didn't know what to do. What did they want her to do? She looked at the black blood on her hand and the small drops that got on her shirt.

She looked back up to the boys and she felt tears in her eyes. "I...I-I-I...c-can't." She managed to get out as she tried to not cry.

CJ then put his hands on her shoulders and pushed her a little bit, but she didn't fall. "You can't!? That's a load of bull. You have to be able to do something! Most of us demons can at this age."

Elena kept her balance and bit her lip a tiny bit to hold back a sob. "I said I can't. I haven't shown signs of my powers yet. I don't know if I have any." She explained.

CJ and his small group all laughed. "I don't think we believe you. Some spawn of the Radio Demon you are. You're pathetic." He pushed her again, but she kept her ground. "You can't even live up to his name." Again, he pushed her but she took a step back. "Your nothing to him." He pushed her harder and this time sent her flying to the ground.

When CJ pushed her the last time was when her tears finally escaped her. When she fell, she scraped her elbow and it made a small gash on her arm. Elena laid there on the ground crying after all that. She didn't know what to do.

For the young girl, she was taking everything they said to heart. At the same time, she knew her dad loved her. Even so, did he love her enough to keep her around without powers. What if she never got them? Would her dad still love her? She wouldn't be as strong as him. She wouldn't be able to call herself an overlord like her dad. She was probably nothing to him in the end. This all made her cry harder as she laid there on the ground.

Mrs. Argo didn't see the scuffle happen. What got her attention was seeing Elena on the ground crying as the four boys stood around her laughing. She quickly got up and walked over to them. "What in the world happened?" The teacher wondered as she got up to them.

The boys all stopped laughing and cleared their throats as they looked away from the teacher. CJ looked up and said innocently. "We were all playing basketball when we threw the ball to her. She wasn't ready and it hit her in the face and she fell down. We didn't know she got hurt." He lied to her with a soft convincing voice.

Mrs. Argo looked at him a moment and she didn't know if she wanted to believe them but let them pass for now. She kneeled down and touched Elena's shoulder. "Dear, are you alright? Are you hurt?" She asked.

Elena looked up from behind her bangs and tear-filled eyes at the teacher. All she did was nod. She sat up a little and showed off her right arm to see the small scratch and cement brush burn she got.

The teacher gasped. "Come on. Let's get you looked at. I'll take you to the nurses office." Mrs. Argo said as she took the girl's hand.

Elena shook her head. "I want to go home." She whispered.

The avian looked at her sadly. "Well let's go to the nurse first then we'll see if she wants you to go home. Sound ok?"

Elena said nothing but just nodded. With help from the teacher the girl stood up. They walked across the yard and back into the school. The walk was quiet besides talking from other classrooms and the clicking of Mrs. Argo's heels. The girl's mind was just blank. She didn't know what to think anymore. Her ears just picked up on the sounds around her, but they were all muffled. Blocking things out.

Soon they got to the nurse's office of the school. The teacher opened the door and they walked into the white room. Lots of informational posters on the walls. Little rooms with separate beds. There was the office where the nurse sat.

The nurse sitting at the desk was an anthropomorphic black cat demon. She had long black hair that she currently had up in a ponytail. Her large green eyes on a computer screen to the left of her.

The teacher knocked first, "Ms. LeStrange."

The cat looked up from the screen and look at Mrs. Argo and then to Elena. She stood up and walked around the desk and stood in front of Elena. She kneeled down, "Got a little scratched up huh?"

Elena didn't look up but nodded.

LeStrange stood back up and headed to a small table and opened a drawer. She came back with some rubbing alcohol and some gauze pads. "Can I see your arm?"

Elena was hesitant for a moment but did give her injured arm to the cat. The nurse took the alcohol and put it on a piece of gauze and went to dab the scratches the girl had. Elena hissed in pain a moment from the feeling but tried to not scream or cry from the feeling.

The nurse cleaned the small wound and then took the gauze and put it in the spot and wrapped it up a little with some medical tape. "There you go." She held the girl's hand and with her powers she looked around for anything else. She was glad that her nose wasn't broken at least. At the same time, she noticed how down the girl was. The cat looked up to Mrs. Argo. "I think she should go home. This has kind of traumatized her and is shaken up. I think it would be better if she went home."

Mrs. Argo sighed. "I feel so bad that this happened." The avian kneeled down next to the girl. "Elena, do you know if your mom is available to come get you?"

Elena nodded, "She is at the hotel today." She answered softly.

"Will you be ok here with Ms. LeStrange so I can go call your mom?" The teacher asked.

Elena looked up to her and then to the nurse. She looked back to Mrs. Argo and nodded her head. "I'll be fine."

"I'll call her mom. You go back to your students Mary." Ms. LeStrange said to her.

"Thank you, Hilda. I appreciate that." She gave a sigh. "I just wish I could have seen what happened." The avian looked to the cat. "See to it that her mom gets her safely. I'll apologize to her next time I see her."

Hilda nodded, "No worries at all. Now go on before more chaos happens."

Mrs. Argo waved goodbye and then walked out. The cat then turned to Elena. "You want to sit in one of the rooms while I go call your mom?" She asked her.

Elena looked over to the one unoccupied room and walked over that way, leaving the nurse without an answer but it was clear what the answer was. The girl needed time to herself and wanted her parents.

Hilda went into her office and went to the phone to make the call. She was worried about how this conversation was going to be.

I was going to make this longer but after realizing that the scene after this was going to be longer than normal, I decided to split it up. Hope you enjoyed it. I actually cried, hurting my baby girl, but it's all for the story.

Gryaznaya krov- Russian for "Dirty Blood"

I want to thank my friend Red for letting me put in their once character as the nurse since I didn't feel like making up a character XD
