Another day, another chapter!
I don't have a lot to mention this time, but I still want to thank you for the good support I got from Discord and from reviews. I believe I have a long road to go, but if certain authors believe I can reach it, then I'll trust them! ...and myself of course.
Last time we left off with Fuutarou trying to figure out a way to tutor the quints while getting nervous around them with determination! Let's hope he manages to get through them if he stays true to his words.
After a few sessions, Fuutarou's weekend is about to start and he's glad to be able to relax while studying! Wait… That doesn't sound right for a good weekend, but then again…
Well anyway onto the story!
The Quintessential Quintuplets and their characters are rightfully owned by Negi Haruba! Idea, "Magic, Love and Quints" is inspired by DarkDrawer. Kanna OC is owned by Blackflame7.
"Are you really going to study all day, onii-chan? It's the weekend, have some fun once in a while!" his sister, Raiha, told her brother while frowning at him.
"I'm almost done, Raiha…" Fuutarou replied back while writing down more notes.
The young man seemed to be really busy studying during the weekends, but upon closer look he is actually reviewing the homework the teacher gave him and the quintuplets.
"Wait, are you… Are you reviewing the homework for the five quintuplets?" Raiha asked upon closer look at the homework. It's definitely one of their homework getting reviewed.
"Of course Raiha, I'm t-their tutor so I need to make sure that they'll pass with beautiful smiles!" Fuutarou blurted out suddenly, making him cover his mouth with his hands.
"Just… why…?" Fuutarou thought in his head as he couldn't look at Raiha when he just said that the quintuplets are beautiful.
It made Raiha go wide-eyed when she heard what he just said about the quintuplets as she formed the biggest smile to him. It made Fuutarou sweat as he was really nervous to what Raiha would say.
"Onii-chan is in love with the five quintuplets he just met?! I'm gonna get 5 sisters-in-law!" Raiha exclaimed.
"Wait what?" Fuutarou jaw dropped but quickly recovered once he heard something ringing.
The doorbell was ringing a lot as Fuutarou went to the door.
"Anyway, you're going too fast Raiha! I'm only tutoring them, besides… It's still a lot of work to go through," Fuutarou explained.
"But I can't help thinking about how pretty the quintuplets look…" Fuutarou blurted out while opening the door, revealing a blushing redhead with star pins holding a small envelope.
"T-thank y-you Uesugi-kun… I'll make sure my sisters get your message too," Itsuki replied to him while giggling.
Now noticing the girl standing in front of him, Fuutarou blushed heavily, getting red as Itsuki's hair as he covered his face with both his hands in embarrassment.
"Somebody end me now…" Fuutarou thought to himself.
"Can I come in?" Itsuki asked politely while looking at his eyes.
Fuutarou shyly looked at the envelope that she was holding while letting her go inside. They went to the living room and went to the nearest table, taking a seat on the chairs around the table. Itsuki handed over the envelope that Fuutarou was curious about.
"Your payment for tutoring all of us, 6000 yen for tutoring me and my sisters each which round up to 30000 yen," Itsuki explained.
Fuutarou was amazed upon opening the envelope, revealing his payment.
"T-this is… D-do I r-really d-deserve a-all this? I f-feel l-like w-we s-still h-have a l-long r-road t-to go…" Fuutarou muttered out as he was stunned by the money he received.
"Of course you do, Uesugi-kun. I agree that we have a long way to go when we get to graduation… but since you came to our lives, my sisters really love your company," Itsuki explained happily. Deep down however, she smiled while looking down for a brief moment.
"…even me too~," Itsuki muttered in a low voice, which made her blush as well.
Fuutarou could only look away in nervousness once he heard about that they all love his company.
"W-well… T-that's o-one w-way t-to p-put it…" Fuutarou said.
"So all that money is yours, onii-chan?!" Raiha exclaimed excitingly as she prayed near a photo of Fuutarou's mother.
"Mother! Did you hear that? Onii-chan is going places!" Raiha said to the photo in happiness. Fuutarou could only look at her sister, smiling at her while looking at the money. While doing so, Itsuki cleared her throat to catch their attention.
"Anyway, with that settled… There is another thing I want to ask you, Uesugi-kun," Itsuki announced with a smile, making him flustered.
"O-oh? W-what is i-it, Itsuki-chan?" Fuutarou asked in nervousness.
Despite the nervousness, he was curious to what Itsuki had in mind as he paid attention to what she has to say.
"Do you know about the fireworks festival this Sunday, by any chance?" Itsuki asked him.
"Y-yes, of c-course, R-Raiha w-wanted t-to e-explore the festival s-since i-it's h-her f-first t-time g-going t-to a s-special e-event…" Fuutarou replied. That made Itsuki smile since he knew he would be going, but it seemed like there was more she wanted to ask her dear tutor.
"W-well, if you're going to the festival, do you want to join me and my sisters?" Itsuki asked him politely. A part of her wanted him to say yes and she hoped she could learn more about the boy during their time at the fireworks festival.
Fuutarou nodded shyly. However, he was embarrassed about one small detail.
"I-I would l-love t-to go, but t-the t-thing is… I o-outgrew m-my k-kimono s-so if y-you w-want me t-to j-join y-you and y-your s-sisters, I w-would look l-like a f-fool to a-all of y-you…" Fuutarou explained shyly.
"I see… So you will join without a traditional kimono, hehe…" Itsuki shyly chuckled, looking to the side in embarrassment.
"W-well… If y-you r-really don't m-mind me going i-in m-my r-regular clothes, t-then I w-would l-love to join y-you," Fuutarou told her, but Itsuki shook her head and faced him with a serious expression.
"That won't do at all, let's go and get you a good kimono to wear!" Itsuki said in determination and grabbed his hand as she dragged him out of the house, with Raiha following the two from behind.
"Oii, wait for me!" Raiha said to the two of them, but Itsuki showed no signs of stopping midway, dragging a flustered Fuutarou for shopping.
Reaching the mall, Itsuki, Fuutarou and Raiha stopped by a clothing shop where most kimonos can be seen. Some kimono looked stylish for Fuutarou to choose from, but Fuutarou knew he barely had any fashion sense.
"A-are w-we really g-going to f-find a k-kimono t-that w-would b-be n-nice for m-me?" Fuutarou asked shyly.
"Of course we will, just follow me! I saw this kimono not too long ago that would be nice for you!" Itsuki exclaimed while dragging the young man to the kimono she wants to show him. Raiha smiled at the two while shrugging in giggles while walking towards them in a slow pace.
"I'm going to be an early sister-in-law!" Raiha exclaimed happily.
Fuutarou tried to get out of her grip, but the moment he was going to do so, he couldn't do it. It was like the magic spell had other plans for him as he was being dragged by the excited quint. Now getting to the kimono Itsuki showed him, it was very fashionable. It was designed with a blue moon texture and it was sparkling once Fuutarou took a good look. Even someone who's really quiet like him was amazed at how nice it looked.
"I see you two caught on to our fashionable kimono, hmm?" an employee from the store came to the two.
Itsuki nodded, pointing at the kimono.
"How much does it cost? Could he try this out in the dressing room?" Itsuki asked the employee, which made the employee chuckle as she took down the kimono and gave it to Fuutarou to wear.
"Why don't we let him decide what he thinks about it before we discuss the price? I'm sure he would like to know how it fits him," she explained to Itsuki, while looking at Fuutarou so she could direct the boy to a nearby dressing room. Fuutarou followed the employee while holding the kimono and as soon as they reached the dressing room, he went inside to change his clothes to the kimono Itsuki picked for him.
"I got to admit though… This kimono is really nice… Itsuki's fashion sense is pretty good," Fuutarou thought while trying the kimono on.
After changing clothes, he went out to show Itsuki how it looked on him, while stuttering around her.
"It looks amazing, Uesugi-kun! It really looks good on you!" Itsuki exclaimed once she saw the boy wearing the kimono of her choice.
"Whoa! Onii-chan, is that the kimono you're going to wear for the festival?!" Raiha exclaimed as she finally found them.
The employee from earlier chuckled upon seeing the boy getting all flustered from the compliments they gave him.
"Well? What do you think yourself, young man? How does it fit?" the employee asked in curiosity.
"I-it's pretty g-good… It f-fits m-me well a-and i-it's really f-fashionable…" Fuutarou told the employee in nervousness.
"Hehe, well then you're lucky today young man, because this kimono has a fifty percent discount due to the fireworks festival this Sunday, it normally costs around 1200 yen, but for the upcoming festival it costs around 600 yen," the employee explained while being in a happy mood, surprising Fuutarou.
"W-well… In t-that c-case, I'll t-take t-the k-kimono then…" Fuutarou replied back as the employee nodded and led them to the cash register to pay for the kimono the three chose.
After paying for the kimono, Fuutarou asked Raiha if she wanted to go to the arcade to play some games since he wants to spend some money he earned on her.
"Really?" Raiha asked in shock. Fuutarou nodded, giving some money for her to spend on the arcade.
"You're the best onii-chan, thank you!" Raiha thanked him and went to the arcade in excitement as fast as she could, causing Fuutarou to worry and follow her.
"H-hey! Wait up Raiha!" Fuutarou called out to her.
Itsuki looked at the young man while giggling, feeling admired when he deeply cared for his sister. She followed them from a distance after seeing Fuutarou running towards to the arcade to follow her energetic sister.
"Uesugi-kun is really caring towards his family… I wish my sisters were also like his sister sometimes and not bickering when we're at home…" Itsuki thought.
"He fights his hardest as well for his family… If he really lives in a poor environment like I saw when I was on my way to his house… I really feel bad for him…"
Itsuki sighed as she arrived at the arcade too. She noticed that Fuutarou was talking to Raiha about earlier as she saw him headpatting her. It seems like Fuutarou must have forgiven her for her actions as she happily went and tried out certain arcade games with the money Fuutarou gave her to use. Itsuki then walked up to Fuutarou's spot and smiled.
"It's nice that you two are getting along well, Uesugi-kun," Itsuki commented.
"Y-yeah… R-Raiha is f-full of e-energy w-when s-she's excited a-at t-things she w-wants t-to try o-out. O-one t-thing s-she sees t-that's n-new and s-she's excited," Fuutarou said with a chuckle.
Itsuki sighed happily as she looked at Raiha's direction, seeing Raiha playing a random crane game.
"Sometimes I wonder what it's like if we were all nice like Raiha-chan," Itsuki muttered, getting Fuutarou's attention.
"E-eh? D-do y-you girls quarrel o-often w-when you're a-all o-on y-your own?" Fuutarou asked curiously.
"We share a strong bond, but since our mother passed away, we have been distant from each other when we had different goals," Itsuki sadly explained.
"I'm s-so s-sorry…" Fuutarou told her.
Itsuki smiled at him, making his blush increase as she continued to explain.
"We often quarrel when we are in disagreement and whenever I try to help them out with studying too… They refuse or shrug it off… Even Miku, who's the smartest out of all of us doesn't feel like studying when it matters… It makes me feel envious of your bond with your sister… I wish my sisters were more considerate…"
She looked towards Raiha again as she saw her winning a big plushed animal and jumping in joy.
"Since you came around in a few sessions, our sister bond has been slowly improving. I hope it continues like that, Uesugi-kun," Itsuki told him, which make Fuutarou look to the side while covering his mouth with a single hand.
"O-oh, I o-only h-helped y-you s-study f-for the next t-tests… I r-really d-didn't do m-much…" Fuutarou awkwardly explained. Itsuki happily shook her head and explained further.
"I told you back when I gave you your payment, but all of us love your company, Uesugi-kun. It really means a lot to not only me, but our sisters as well," Itsuki said happily as she grabbed his hand.
"Shall we go? I think Raiha-chan is interested in the photo booth since she's calling out to us," Itsuki asked him as she dragged him lightly to meet up with Raiha. Fuutarou could only look at Itsuki as he began thinking about the last few sessions.
"Come to think of it… All of them have been nicer to me than usual…"
Meeting up with Raiha, she pouted at her brother as she walked up to him.
"Onii-chan, what took you so long? Let's go and take a photo together! You, me and Itsuki-san!" Raiha said in excitement.
Fuutarou and Itsuki looked at each other, smiling at each other as they looked at Raiha. The three proceeded to go inside the photo booth and started to take photos, doing various expressions and a normal one on the last take. After taking the photos, they printed out three copies for each of them to take along the way for memories.
"These photos are amazing, onii-chan! Itsuki-san!" Raiha exclaimed happily while looking at the photos.
"I agree, Raiha-chan! I love them too!" Itsuki exclaimed in excitement like Raiha.
While looking at the newly made photos, Raiha noticed 4 other Itsuki lookalikes on their way to their spot. Getting surprised, Raiha called out to her brother and Itsuki.
"Onii-chan! Itsuki-san! There are four other Itsuki-san's on the way here!" Raiha exclaimed, pointing at them.
Noticing the four girls, Fuutarou's heartbeat began to beat faster than normal.
"Ara~ I didn't think we would meet you here, Fuutarou-kun," Ichika was the first to notice the trio.
"Eh? Fuu-kun is here too? What's in the bag? And why did you take so long with him, Itsuki?" Nino asked while looking at Itsuki both in annoyance and in jealousy.
"We had to go to the mall ourselves without you and we managed to find you here! Why didn't you tell us that you were there?"
Itsuki only blushed and giggled in awkwardness.
"Ahaha… Sorry Nino, but after giving him the payment, I asked him if he was going to the festival and we were buying a kimono for him to wear when Uesugi-kun said he was going without one," Itsuki explained, earning an awkward chuckle from Fuutarou.
While they were talking, Miku and Yotsuba noticed Fuutarou's sister Raiha getting curious about them.
"You must be Uesugi-san's sister? It's finally nice to meet you! I'm Yotsuba!" Yotsuba introduced herself to Raiha happily.
"I'm Miku…" Miku introduced herself too while giving her a small wave.
Raiha looked at the two girls and got excited as she introduced herself as well.
"I'm his sister! I'm Raiha! You girls really look like Itsuki, but you all have different accessories!" Raiha exclaimed.
Yotsuba giggled while introducing Raiha to the other two sisters.
"The butterfly ribbons on both her sides on her head is Nino and the other short haired girl is Ichika!" Yotsuba happily introduced them.
"Hehe, it's nice to meet the rest of Itsuki-san's sisters!" Raiha exclaimed while looking at the others who were still talking with each other.
"So you're really going to join us Fuu-kun~? I look forward to it tomorrow~" Nino said in a flirty tone, making him blush.
"I look forward seeing you in your pretty yukata, Nino-chan," Fuutarou blurted out, making him cover his mouth again in embarrassment. Nino blushed heavily while smiling, but she looked on the ground so Fuutarou couldn't notice her blushing as red as her hair.
For some reason, hearing what he blurted out made Miku and Itsuki pout in jealousy. Yotsuba kept a small smile, but deep down felt jealous that she wasn't the only one receiving compliments from him.
"Ara ara~ You're really admiring my sisters a lot, Fuutarou-kun~" Ichika teased him. Although she was only teasing him, it was to hide a small jealousy towards Nino, but kept forming a smile like Yotsuba.
Fuutarou could only hold his bag to cover his face.
"This love spell is going to annoy me a lot until one of them kisses me…" Fuutarou thought in embarrassment.
And we reached the end of chapter 5! Fuutarou has something to wear for the fireworks festival and Raiha got introduced to the quintuplets during the visit to the mall.
With this chapter done, the next chapter is going to be the Fireworks Festival!
With that said, let's hope one of them could make him less nervous in the next chapters.
