Hey! It's been a long time!
Before we continue, if you haven't heard from me lately, I wish you guys a Happy New Year! ...oh wait, it's been 15 days since 2022 started now, huh? Well, anyways I want to say that I will get straight to the story starting the next upcoming chapters so I will not be adding suspence like I'm about to do now and in the end of the chapters. However I will continue to do announcements if I have any. I also want to say that I've started my streaming career which means I have been writing less as of the start of the year, but this story is still going! I won't take up too much time now so let's continue where we left off!
Last time, Yotsuba was accompanying Fuutarou on his way out of the Pentagon. Of course, it made him nervous as usual but after a certain boldness from Yotsuba, Fuutarou finally managed to stay less nervous around her.
What will happen now that he has two girls that he can stay calm around with? What about the rest of the quintuplets? Let's get on to the story!

Fuutarou was about to walk to his classroom after packing his notes he just did for the quintuplets. While on his way, he thought about Yotsuba's sudden actions towards him ever since that kiss.
"Yotsuba has been really happy lately… She's doing a lot of things to get my attention," Fuutarou thought to himself.
"For some reason… It reminds me of that girl I met back in Kyoto… She had a hyperactive personality like her… I wonder…"
Fuutarou was then stopped by two girls who seemed to be interested to talk to him. He wanted to pass through them since his classroom was a bit further ahead, but it seemed like these girls didn't have any intention of having him leave just yet.
"Good morning, Uesugi-kun!" the girl who stopped him greeted to him with a smile.
She was wearing blue glasses and a blue high school uniform. She had brown hair and had twintails on both sides as her hairstyle and was carrying some books, perhaps to her class.
The other girl accompanying her wore a dark blue high school uniform. She was also wearing glasses and had short caramel blond hair.
Fuutarou recognized them as Rei Shiori and Yuki Kyoko, two of his classmates. He wondered what they wanted? Maybe it's because of the rumors he has been hearing about him and the quintuplets lately.
"Uh… Good morning to you girls, is there something you need from me?" Fuutarou asked them in curiousity.
As far as he's concerned, they never interacted with him until now. Was it because he was lonely and preferred that he was alone in their eyes? Was it because they want him to help them with their sheets? A lot of questions was on his mind…
"We wanted to know if you could have lunch with us after class today? Kyoko-san and I want to know more about the smartest student in Asahiyama high school!" Rei Shiori asked him.
From there, he didn't want to be rude and pass through them and he had no idea what he should do. From the looks of their eyes, they seemed really interested in having him for lunch.
"Well… I don't know…" Fuutarou muttered out.
"Oiiiii~!" a girl started to call for Fuutarou.
Fuutarou turned around, noticing a redhaired girl with an ahoge hair from a distance. Able to recognize that it's one of the quintuplets, he was relieved, but what caused him to wonder is who is the quintuplet calling out to him.
The ahoge on her hair must mean that it's Itsuki! Well that was what he thought until he noticed that her hair is short, which was the reason he was wondering.
"I'm sorry for getting late! Did you wait long~?" the quintuplet asked Fuutarou. From the tone of her voice, she sounded like Yotsuba! It further confirmed his curiosity as he saw her wearing a yellow school uniform and a green bowtie.
"Nakano-san? I didn't know you were waiting for her, Uesugi-kun!" Yuki Kyoko said.
"Wait, he was about to answer if he wants to join us for lunch!" Rei told Yuki and faced Fuutarou, waiting for his answer. The latter was still focused on Yotsuba as she looked at him in confusion and then looked at the girls.
"Ah… You had company, hehe…" Yotsuba said nervously at first.
"So, will you join us, Uesugi-kun?" Rei asked him once more, only for Yotsuba to meddle in.
Yotsuba latched her arm around Fuutarou's arm, causing him to blush but managed to control it.
"Uesugi-kun is going to join me for lunch, but thank you for keeping him company while he was waiting for me! I can take over from here," Yotsuba replied casually to the girls. Fuutarou noticed the way Yotsuba called him.
Of course, he was used to her calling him 'Uesugi-san', but this time she called him 'Uesugi-kun'. Maybe she noticed him earlier and needed help?
(From Yotsuba's point of view, she noticed Fuutarou before the girls showed up and was about to confront him. When the girls approached him, she got mad and jealous so she hid behind the lockers while eavesdropping.
After hearing that they wanted to have Fuutarou with them for lunch, she wanted to step in and stop them. Before she did so, she took off her green ribbon and did her best making an ahoge hair like Itsuki's.
"Yosh!" Yotsuba nodded in confidence.
She then went in and started approaching them.
"My imitation of my sisters have been improving a little and I know I'm bad at lying… but Fuutarou-kun needs my help!" Yotsuba thought.
"…it reminds me of the time I saved him in Kyoto from two girls back before…"
Yotsuba then started calling out to Fuutarou, which caused him to turn around…)
The girls were taking a small step back, but Rei managed to muster a bit courage to tell Yotsuba what's on her mind.
"H-hey! You're not in charge of Uesugi-kun! You should let him make choices of his own!" Rei told her.
"You're clearly making him uncomfortable when I saw him trying to answer," Yotsuba reflected, retaining her smile until she made an expression that made the girls frighten a bit.
"So… do me a favor and get out of here," Yotsuba suddenly said in a serious tone that scared them more.
Fuutarou on the other hand, was surprised to see that side of Yotsuba. He could understand Nino and Miku, but he had never seen Yotsuba serious or angry over something.
"Yo- I-Itsuki…" Fuutarou almost revealed her name while muttering, but quickly muttered out Itsuki's name.
Maybe these two thought Yotsuba was Itsuki! After all, not everyone would tell the quintuplets apart after a month…
Yuki managed to muster up some courage left, in a last effort to counter Yotsuba's comment.
"I-It's s-still up to Uesugi-kun… We want to hear it directly from him!" Yuki said.
Fuutarou sighed and stepped in front of Yotsuba and moved towards the girls to answer them.
"Uesugi-kun?" Yotsuba was confused while she was muttering his name.
"Like Itsuki said, I was waiting for her and I promised her that we would go to the classroom together and eat lunch together. If I left her without notice, it would be disrespectful and I would never forgive myself if I ditched her now," Fuutarou told the two girls, which made them look down.
Yotsuba was amazed that he took care of the problem despite that she tried her best to save him from the trouble he had. It seemed like with her around, Fuutarou felt even calmer and with her around it felt like he could do anything. Fuutarou then faced Yotsuba and offered his hand, causing her to blush.
"Shall we get going, Itsuki?" Fuutarou asked her. He blushed at the thought of holding Yotsuba's hand, but that didn't matter as he managed to brush it off. Yotsuba smiled and slowly reached for his hand and held it. The two girls noticed while retaining their sad faces. Yotsuba faced them with a frown.
"If you know what's good for you girls, stay away from Uesugi-kun. If I see you two making him uncomfortable again, you'll regret it," Yotsuba said in a serious expression to the girls, making them frightened. Yotsuba then formed a goofy smile.
"Okay thanks for taking care of him for me, byeeee~!" Yotsuba waved goodbye to them as she and Fuutarou passed through them, leaving the two girls. Yotsuba looked behind her, noticing them having sad frowns and were crying a little about that Fuutarou declined their offer. It made Yotsuba happy that she was able to save him, but also make him indirectly more confident at anything. In this case, being able to decline the girls's offer.
While walking, Fuutarou noticed Yotsuba leaning towards his shoulder. The students around noticed the two, which most of them thought it was touching. Some of the boys however were jealous of the young man who managed to score a girl like Yotsuba.
"By the way… Yotsuba, where's your ribbon? Did you not bring it today?" Fuutarou asked her, only for her to giggle.
"Of course I did, but then I saw you earlier with those girls. Are they your classmates?" Yotsuba asked him, she then grabbed her green ribbon from her sports bag and let go of Fuutarou's arm. She was about to put them on until she looked into Fuutarou's eyes.
"Um… Do you want to put on the ribbon for me?" Yotsuba asked him shyly, blushing at the thought of Fuutarou fixing her ribbon.
Fuutarou blushed for a while before looking around, noticing a few people around before nodding to her request.
"I guess it won't hurt to do so… Here," Fuutarou said and offered his hand.
Yotsuba blushed and smiled as she gave her green ribbon to Fuutarou. He then went behind Yotsuba and started to fix her hair by stroking it a little.
"S-sorry… It's the first time I'm doing something like fixing your ribbon… Would have been easier with a chair if I'm going to be honest…" Fuutarou said while putting the ribbon on her.
"Shishishi~ Don't worry, I'm sure you can do it Uesugi-san~" Yotsuba reassured him, smiling.
Fuutarou sighed while he did the final touches to the ribbon. Then Fuutarou held up his phone and started opening the camera. He then put the camera on face cam mode to show Yotsuba her newly put ribbon, which got her surprised.
"W-well? How does it look?" Fuutarou asked her, but she started to tackle him into the hug. Suprisingly, he managed to stay in balance and caught the ribbon wearing girl's hug.
"I love it, Uesugi-san~!" Yotsuba exclaimed happily while she snuggled him, causing the young man to blush heavily.
"A-alright, alright! I'm happy, but could you get off me? We don't want anyone staring at a beautiful woman like you," Fuutarou told her and tried to get her off, only for Yotsuba to snuggle him even more.
Fuutarou knew she was too strong, and while he didn't mind her affections, there's no telling when other students would pass by.
Although, Fuutarou realized something else. He called Yotsuba a beautiful woman AGAIN! It made him blush in embarrassment, but it didn't seem like Yotsuba caught on as she was too busy snuggling and hugging him.
Minutes later, Yotsuba stopped hugging him and gave him a goofy smile while scratching her head.
"Shishishi~ Sorry Uesugi-san, I was getting carried away. Thank you for fixing up my ribbon!" Yotsuba beamed and latched her arm into his arm again while she put her head on his shoulder once more.
Fuutarou sighed again and started changing the topic.
"By the way… Thank you for saving me back there, Yotsuba. You did a really good Itsuki impression," Fuutarou complimented her, causing her to blush, but she smiled and didn't think of turning her head away.
"Shishishi~ I'm pretty sure I imitated Nino more than imitating Itsuki, but it worked either way~!" Yotsuba beamed.
"I made sure the girls won't bother you ever again for now!" Yotsuba assured him.
"I see… Is Nino like that sometimes?" Fuutarou asked her in curiosity, making Yotsuba nod as she looked at him.
"Yeah, Nino is like that when she doesn't trust strangers. When Papa told us that you would be tutoring us, Nino at first didn't trust you. When she saw you and Itsuki getting along that day and Itsuki telling us more about you, she immediately changed her view about you and wanted to meet you herself," Yotsuba reflected.
"Is that so?" Fuutarou replied.
Yotsuba nodded and smiled at him.
"Yep! I'm glad she's nicer to you though! Nino isn't normally like this at all!" Yotsuba beamed, proud of her sister's change of view of Fuutarou.
"I-I suppose, but she's hard to read… Especially during our tutoring sessions, I can't seem to understand her intentions," Fuutarou reflected upon his view of Nino.
"Shishishi~ Don't think too hard about it, Uesugi-san! I think you're already amazing changing Nino's view of you!" Yotsuba reassured him, causing Fuutarou to blush.
"But anyway… I wanted to talk to you about last time," Yotsuba changed the topic.
Fuutarou knew where this was going, having his full attention towards the fourth quintuplet.
"You definitely remembered what happened, right~? After all, you're showing that you're being comfortable around me, shishishi~" Yotsuba added on, being flirty while doing so.
Fuutarou only blushed and covered his mouth with his free hand and looked towards the hallway.
"Did you like it when I kissed you on the cheek~? Did yoooou~" Yotsuba flirted with him continuously.
"W-well… I can't deny that… I liked it and I miss that feeling from a gorgeous woman like you," Fuutarou blurted out, causing him to blush very hard and look down on his shoes.
Yotsuba giggled, continuing to snuggle him while she was leaning on his shoulder. It caused Fuutarou to look around to see if there were students looking at them.
"H-hey! People could make more rumors about us!" Fuutarou told Yotsuba in worry, but she was rather calm about the situation.
"Hmm~? Why are you worried about that? Besides, people will think I'm Itsuki so let me enjoy this moment, Uesugi-san~" Yotsuba told him.
"With that ribbon? Ugh, you know what… Do what you want, I haven't been able to stop you anyway," Fuutarou thought as he looked at the girl. He started blushing and sighed.
"Alright, but you're letting go when we get closer to my classroom!" Fuutarou told her, causing her to smile.
"Shishishi~ I promise! After all…" Yotsuba said and looked into his eyes and formed a beaming smile.
"I'm glad you feel less nervous around me, Fuutarou-kun~" Yotsuba added on.
To Fuutarou, he got nervous seeing her smile as if she was being more flirty than usual. Although he put that thought aside as he heard her calling him 'Fuutarou-kun' instead of 'Uesugi-san'.
"Why do I feel like I heard her call me that once before?" was all Fuutarou thought as he looked at the girl.
"Hey, is it okay that I'll call you Fuutarou-kun from now on~?" Yotsuba asked him politely, still showing her beaming smile.
"If it's from a beautiful woman like you, then I'm okay with it, Yotsuba-chan," Fuutarou blurted out and covered his mouth immediately while blushing in embarrassment.
Yotsuba finally turned away from him while blushing hard herself.
"This love spell is not normal at all! Why is it that strong?" Fuutarou asked himself while thinking.
Yotsuba noticed his blush didn't fade away for a moment, but Fuutarou managed to stay calm as his rosy cheeks became less visible.
"Shishishi~ I look forward to our next tutoring session, Fuutarou-kun~" Yotsuba said in a flirty tone and leaned in and kissed his cheek, causing the young tutor to blush as red as Yotsuba's hair. It made her giggle once she saw how red he was.
"You're soooooo red, Fuutarou-kun~" Yotsuba smirked.
"H-hey! I didn't even think you would be this affectionate!" Fuutarou retorted, getting embarrassed and looked down on his shoes.
Yotsuba only looked at him with a smug smile, causing Fuutarou to wonder what's on her mind.
"What are you thinking now?" Fuutarou asked her.
"Nothing~ Shishishi~" Yotsuba said, only giggling as Fuutarou sighed. The two continued walking side by side during the hallway, with Yotsuba looking at the young man with a gentle smile.
"Fuutarou-kun… You've been this strong ever since we parted ways in Kyoto… I'm so glad I met you again," Yotsuba reflected upon when she first met him.
("Me? I just want to help out my family… I hope to graduate and get a well-paid job…")
"It was fate for us to meet again. I don't want to lose you again… I know my sisters would be shocked when they realize they met you once again, but even then…"
("When we meet again, I'll always be by your side! That's a promise!")
"…I'm going to keep the promise I made to you, just like I'm doing now," Yotsuba thought with a smile.
"I'm not going anywhere, and I hope you'll realize that you met us back in Kyoto one day, but until then I just want to enjoy this moment being with you again, Fuutarou-kun~"
Yotsuba has a strong lead?!
I tried to make Yotsuba a little better at imitating her sisters even though she's the worst at pretending or lying. I hope it turned well.
And seems like we have a reveal of a promise Yotsuba made for him, I wonder what happened in that fateful encounter in Kyoto, hmm?
A flashback will eventually happen as we continue on, so it will explain the backstory of the promise.
