52. Weather

Jack shivered, wrapping the red and black duvet over his body and snuggling up to his lover. Chase rumbled a purr, his green jaws nuzzling against Jack's chest. The two were sparring earlier, hence Chase's laziness in his current reptilian form, but decided to have a break, one of the cat's had trudged off and come back in his human form with the two lovers' bed cover and a few pillows.

Jack hummed in contentment, it was a perfect excuse to be closer to Chase, not that the warlord minded.

It was December, winter was here, Christmas was coming but mainly it was the weather. The weather was getting colder, the air was getting crisper and felt like it was biting your nose. Jack giggled inwardly, Jack Frost nipping at your nose.

Chase chuckled as he watched Jack's features brighten with a smile.

"What is so amusing, my beloved?" Chase rumbled lowly. Jack opened his ruby eyes and glanced into the ember ones that were emitting love towards him.

"Oh, nothing." Jack smiled, "I was just thinking about the weather and then Jack Frost came to mind." Chase looked at his genius.

"Hmm, the winter sprite?" Jack nodded.

"Please tell me he's real!" Chase chuckled and a white snow leopard padded over, his head hung low in submission to Chase. Chase carefully lifted his head away from Jack in order to look at the feline. Chase nodded and the feline moved across the blanket and laid down beside Jack.

Jack shivered again.

"Why are you so cold?" Chase chuckled and the leopard was given permission to change into his human form. Jack stood face to face with another albino teenager, who sat crossed legged. The other boy's features were uncanny to Jack's. His eyes were an icy blue, Jack obviously being red, being the only difference between the two of them besides the pointed ears the other had. Jack tilted his head in confusion.

"Who are you?" The other boy smirked.

"Well, Jack, I'm Jack too!" The other Jack laughed at the genius. Jack grinned excitedly.

"No way! As in Jack Frost?! You are real?! Neat!" The two Jack laughed and Chase settled down comfortably . The three of them began chatting about the past, how Jack Frost froze the world over for a moment before Chase intervened.

"Wait, so are you one of Chase's warriors?" The genius tilted his head cutely, making the winter spirit blush. The action caused a warning growl from Chase, but Jack Frost smiled at his master.

"No, not really. I mean... I am, but I am allowed to come and go as I please, unlike the other cats. Someone still has to keep winter coming and children happy." Chase groaned.

"Unfortunately, just because he is mischievous that he causes accidents for adults and fun for kids... it makes him annoyingly neutral." The winter sprite grinned.

"I find it funny, personally." The both Jacks giggled with each other.

For the next hour, the two Jack's sang Christmas songs, shared stories and a few jokes.

Jack Spicer grinned with awe as he watched the other Jack create frost and snow magic before his very eyes.

"So cool.." Chase huffed, obviously jealous that his consort was no longer paying attention to him. Both Jack's noticed the warlord's mood and Jack Frost bid them farewell.

"Well snow's a-coming for the land of no-where! But it don't fall by itself!" The genius grinned and waved to his name sake and watched as he flew out of a near-by window.

"When the weather outside is frightful, and the fire is so delightful, there isn't no better place to go, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!"

Then they saw it began to snow outside, small flakes hitting the window and melting upon contact. Jack turned to the warlord and grinned slyly.

"You big baby.." Chase noticed the grin his lover gave and grinned coyly in return.

"What are you going to do about it?" Jack giggled.

"How about we pick up the bed stuff and take it back to the bedroom... just so we can throw them to the floor out of the way?" Jack giggled as he picked up the pillows and ran into the hall.

Chase grinned morphing back into his human form and picking up the duvet.

"Well, that turned out nicely." Chase heard agreeable purrs and mewls of encouragement.

"Like I need you to tell me 'good luck'." The cats chuckled and watched their master walked quite fast out of the room.

53. Tinsel

Jack giggled as he danced around the citadel throwing up Christmas ornaments and tinsel flying everywhere. Jack had his portable stereo blasting out 'I wish it could be Christmas everyday' by Wizzard, which was then followed by 'Merry Christmas Everybody' by Slade. Jack hummed along with a big smile.

The cats were trying their hardest to stop the genius, gently of course, from changing the citadel into a winter holiday fantasy.

"Master Jack, please stop. Master Chase doesn't-"

Jack wasn't listening to them, easily dodging them, thanks to Chase and his awesome training. Jack moved gracefully as he then ran over to start putting up the tree.

"My favourite part of Christmas." Jack smirked as he then put together the artificial tree he had bought. Once it was up and standing tall, Jack whirled around and picked up a reel of Christmas lights and proceeded to untangle them.

While Jack sorted this out, Chase came home from a Showdown carrying his winnings. Chase stopped and gaped at the sheer shininess of the room. Tinsel, snow globes, confetti, banners, coloured foil ceiling hangers and... Chase looked over to see Jack tangled in lights.

Chase closed his mouth and walked over to Jack. Chase heard his cats whispering apologies to him.

"We tried to stop him, Master, but he wouldn't listen."

"We're sorry, Master."

"We know you don't like this holiday, Master."

Chase ignored them and stood behind Jack whom still hadn't the faintest idea Chase had come back. The warlord cleared his throat when Jack hadn't moved. Jack paused and shifted, only to fall on his back.

"Ooft! Oh, hey Chase!" Jack grinned cutely up at his lover. Chase had a passive expression upon his features, causing Jack to innocently ask,

"What's wrong?" Chase snapped his fingers and the music immediately stopped. Chase knelt down beside the genius and a panther came up and took the Wu from his master. Chase then began, still rather quiet and emotionless, to untie Jack from the confines of the Christmas lights.

"Chase?" Jack tried again, but Chase ignored him, pulling the wires off the albino. Jack eyes turned down cast. Jack obviously did something wrong, but he had no idea what.

"I understand, Spicer, that you are just merely being you. You enjoy Christmas, and wish to share the experience with me. To be together, am I right?" Jack looked up cutely, almost puppy like.

"I just wanted to surprise you... I thought your cats were joking when they made you out to be such a scrooge." Chase turned to glare at his cats to find that they were all gone. Chase managed to spot a few tails flickering out of sight around a corner.

"Che, cowards." He soon turned back to Jack when he heard sniffles and quiet sobs.

"I'm sorry, Chase, I just wanted it to be special." Chase sighed and pulled the last of the wires off his consort, then pulling the genius into a hug.

"I know." They stayed like that for a while, Chase waited for Jack to cease his tears and sobs. Chase was patient.

After a few more minutes, Jack took a deep breath and looked up at the warlord, with puffy eyes and tear stained cheeks. Chase looked at the albino and kissed his forehead sweetly, cause Jack to smile.

"Chase?" Chase hummed in reply, a cue for Jack to continue.

"How come you don't celebrate Christmas?" Chase went quiet and immediately Jack apologised.

"I'm sorry, you are obviously-" Chase placed a finger to the white soft lips.

"It's fine, Spicer. Stop apologising. You were bound to find out sooner or later. We have been together for 3 years, Spicer. Six months out of those years have you been living with me in the citadel. We have always shared presents with each other on this day, but I do not celebrate the holiday per se." Jack nodded and waited for the warlord to get to the point.

"The real reason I don't celebrate this holiday is because..." Chase paused, Jack reached up and kissed his master sweetly on the lips, silently telling him that he wouldn't force him if he wasn't ready.

"You don't-" Jack went to say but Chase silenced him again.

"...Because my Mother died on Christmas Eve." Jack eyes widened at the mere thought. Jack sat up properly and wrapped his arms around the warlord's neck.

"I'm sorry, Chase. I didn't know... If I knew I wouldn't have-" Chase pulled the lithe body from him and looked at him.

"Spicer, I'm not stopping you from celebrating this holiday. But please keep in mind that I am very irritable around this time of year. I only ask... don't go overboard with decorations and no Christmas music. If you want to listen to it, put your head phones on." Jack nodded, kissing Chase sweetly.

"In that case, I'll compromise. Let me have my snow globes out, which you know are my Granny's, and the tree. I'll take everything else down and put it away." Chase smiled.

"I can work with that." Jack smiled, glad that Chase had agreed with him.

54. Ice

Jack laughed so hard he thought his sides were going to split open. There was no situation funnier than this.

Chase and Jack, master and apprentice, had gone after a Wu and they thought they would be against the monks. Turns out they would be against each other and the monks were nowhere to be seen.

Jack smirked. "Chase, I challenge you to a Heylin Showdown!" Chase chuckled at the renamed title.

"Alright. Name your game." Chase humoured his apprentice. Jack giggled evilly.

"I challenge you to figure skating, may the best Heylin get the best score." Chase grinned, he had never skated in his life but it couldn't that difficult could it?

"I accept your challenge. I wager my good looks and my fantastic skills against your Mantis Flip Coin." Jack laughed at him, earning a grin back in return.

"Let's go! Heylin Showdown!"

A blinding light occurred, signifying that the scenery had changed to a large ice rink. Jack went on first. He was wearing a black and red glittered, tight one piece that look absolutely stunning on him. Chase was wearing a similar one, only his was green instead of red.

"GONG YI TAMPAI!" Jack shouted just before the music started.

Chase looked on in awe as Jack glided over the ice, twirling, balancing with skill and perfection. His face was peaceful, his movement graceful. Jack looked like he could have been an Ice Elemental. The small creatures that helped Jack Frost in his winter duties.

Chase often watched them skate across lakes, turning running water into a frozen death trap. It was beautiful to watch.

Looking back at Jack made Chase smile genuinely at him. Jack finished with a pose only a professional would make, causing a round of applause from the invisible audience and judges.

Jack smirked and skated to the edge where Chase was.

"Your turn, Master." Chase grinned cockily back at the genius.

"Watch and learn."

Back to current time, Jack took deep breaths to try and stop his laughter.

"Shut up, Spicer!" Chase growled.

"I'm sorry, Chase. 'Watch and learn' you said... then as you step out onto the ice, you slipped and fell flat on your face!" Jack bellowed over in giggles and snorts again. Chase growl nursing his broken nose, which thankfully wasn't bleeding.

Chase smirked as he knew exactly how he would get his apprentice back. Tie him up, tease him then leave him. That would teach him.

Revenge was sweet.
