55. Christmas Tree

Chase yawned as he watched Jack place a white base upon the floor in his main hall. Jack hummed Christmas tunes as he placed each part of the tree together and placed it into the base.

Chase had to admit that the tree in question was odd, yet it was strangely beautiful. Much like his consort. Why Jack had chosen and white one rather than a traditional green one - was beyond comprehension. But seeing Jack's face drop sadly made the warlord's heart break. Chase hated the hold the genius had on his black heart, but he'd be damned if it was gone. Chase had done what he had always done, since he finally got together with Jack, he gave in.

Jack's face had lit up like the Christmas lights that he was going to put up on the tree. Chase sighed, remembering how his heart and cheeks had warmed up to the beaming smile Jack had given to him. Jack, thankfully, had not noticed the blushing warlord, and Chase was able to get himself under control.

Chase looked over at Jack to see that the genius has finished putting up the tree and as digging through a huge Christmas bag full of decorations. Chase rolled his eyes as the genius plunge into it. Chase watched as Jack rustled inside hoping to make it topple over so he could crawl out. Chase smirked when the pitiful yet muffled cry of his consort.

"Chase! HELP!" Chase stood up from his throne and walked over to the bag. Chase's smirk grew wider as he grabbed Jack's ankle and lifted him from the bag. Jack grinned as his face appeared from the depth of the Christmas ornaments, tinsel hanging from his person.

"Thanks!" Chase grunted and righted his consort, helping him stand. Jack took the tinsel off from around his neck and placed it back in the bag.

"Spicer, you can't even place decorations properly without causing harm to yourself." Jack pouted cutely, catching Chase slightly off guard.

"Well you could help me," Jack whined to his master. "Instead of just sitting there like a scrooge and a grump!" Jack pouted some more and crossed his arms childishly. Chase growled as a warning, although both of them knew he didn't mean it.

"Watch your tone, Spicer." Chase growled, yet he was purely playful. Jack smirked, making the warlord smirk in return.

"Or what?" Chase chuckled, digging into the bag and pulling out bright red tinsel and a Santa hat. He placed the hat upon Jack's head and wrapped the tinsel around the genius's neck.

"Or I'll put these ornaments to good use..." He chuckled as Jack's face broke into a shocked grin. The albino hit the warlord on the arm and then turned to the bag and reached into it. Chase this time held onto Jack's middle, stopping the albino from falling in a second time. Jack sent a warning glance back at the warlord before pulling himself back with Christmas lights.

Chase grinned back with fake innocence.

It didn't take long for the tree to be completed, and Jack was beaming like an idiot. It was beautiful.

It was covered with red and green decorations such as tinsel and baubles. The lights were pink, which Chase didn't understand until Jack turned them on after he had decorated the tree. The tree seemed to glow. It was perfect.

Much like Jack.

Chase pulled Jack into his arms causing Jack to squeak then giggle.

"I love you." Jack laughed at the admission.

"Shut up, it sounds weird." Chase chuckled.

"I'm only telling you the truth, Spicer." Jack blushed and pecked the warlord on the lips.

"I know." Chase grinned and pulled the genius out of the room. Jack caught on immediately.

"Chase Young! You Horn dog!"

Jack panted and let his head fall from Chase's shoulder, complete spent. Chase panted as well, above the albino and grinned tiredly. Chase watched the blush, that was dusted across his consort's snow white cheeks, dissipate. Jack opened his eyes and looked into Chase's ember eyes.

"I love you too Chase." Chase collapsed beside him and Jack snuggled into his master's side. Chase chuckled.

"I'm glad, Spicer." Jack giggled back. The two of them were about to doze off when an almighty crash resounded through the citadel. Chase and Jack were wide awake in an instant. The two grabbed their clothes, Chase didn't bother with his armour and the two of them ran into the main hall.

They stopped when they saw that the tree had been knocked over and Chase's cats were scattered around the room, save for one, whom was trapped under the tree.

"Nani..." Chase warned, but then turned to Jack who was shocked. Jack put his heart and soul into that tree and the cat's ruined it. Chase was going to punish the lot of them. Mange, fleas, mites, tape worm, starv-

Jack burst into laughter.

Chase was worried.

"Jack?"

Jack just laughed some more.

"Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree! Your ornaments are history!" Jack managed to sing in between giggles. Chase smiled and merely shook his head.

The cats would be spared, for now.

56. Wish

Jack sighed, he was alone again this Christmas. Jack was surprised he hadn't turned into a modern day Scrooge. Jack was a lonely child, his parents were never home, his babysitters and nannies stopped coming to see him. It was just him. Granny had passed away in October, so it really was just him this Christmas.

Jack had put up Christmas lights on the outside of the house, as well as inside. He put up a tree wrapped empty boxes, and placed them underneath the tree. It's not like he'd get any presents this year... nor did he get any since he was seven. Jack was eighteen now. Jack just wanted to spend some time with his parents. No matter what he did to try and get them to come home, something had been brought up and they couldn't come.

He was close to tears but he was stubborn and refused to let them fall. Why was it always him? Just him?

Everyone else had family or friends to spend it with.

Sure, Jack was evil, but doesn't mean he should be alone. It was Christmas Eve! He just wished someone, anyone, would spend Christmas with him. Was he really that much of a nuisance? Did his parents wish they'd never had him? Was he that much of a freak? Jack felt his bottom lip wobble.

Jack felt tears fall down his cheeks and could no longer keep them from falling. Jack fell onto the sofa and cried himself to sleep into a cushion.

When Jack awoke, it was seven thirty in the morning. Jack groaned and sat up, full with headache and stuffed nose. Jack felt like death now, and it was Christmas. Sighing again, Jack pulled himself up and walked into the kitchen and walked to the cupboard. He grabbed a glass and filled it with water, popping an aspirin in his mouth which he found in the other cupboard.

Jack panted after he downed the glass. After he placed the glass down into the sink, he glanced at the table that was filled with food, crackers, wine glasses and walked out into the living room again to- wait.

Jack raced back into the kitchen to look at the table. Jack thought it was a cruel hallucination, but sure enough the table was full of food, crackers and wine glasses.

That's when Jack saw the large lions, tigers and leopards. Jack smiled at them, knowing who had done this.

Jack sat at the table, grinning as he waited for the cats to sit around the table with him. They did after the changed into their human forms. Jack noticed that there was one seat left unclaimed. It was at the far end opposite Jack.

There was no way Chase would-

"Merry Christmas, Spicer." Jack spun his head around and watched the warmly - casually? - dressed warlord walk to the seat and sat across from him.

Jack smiled appreciatively.

"Shèngdàn jié kuàilè, Chase." Chase grinned and dug in, Jack soon followed.

57. Snow Globe

Jack lifted the box carefully from under his bed and placed it gently onto the quilt. Chase was with him and Jack wanted to show him his most prized possession. Jack opened up the box and pulled out a wrapped package from it.

Chase watched as Jack opened it up with care and tender movements. Chase didn't know what it was but was happy that Jack would want to show it to him.

Before Chase wanted to have Jack move in with him, Jack had merely said if only he could bring a few things with him. Chase had agreed but had asked gently what they were. So Chase had helped Jack pack all of his clothes, movies, books and little trinkets. But this one thing could not and would not be left behind.

"I wish I could put this on display, it's so beautiful. But I'm scared it will break, so I keep it wrapped up and safe." Chase watched as layers upon layers of bubble-wrap were stripped from the parcel. Chase saw that the parcel looked a lot like a snow globe.

When it was fully unwrapped, Chase actually gasped.

"My..." Chase had said. The snow globe was magnificent. It's base was gold, obviously plated but it did not take the beauty away from it. Inside was an angel, also gold, surrounded by smaller angels. Jack tipped the globe upside down and back again. Chase looked on and saw the white and silver glitter float and fall inside the glass ball.

"It is beautiful, Spicer." Jack smiled.

"It was my Granny's. She gave it to me when I was six. She isn't dead yet, to which I'm glad, but it was the best Christmas present I ever received. I don't care if it makes me seem girly, or gay... or whatever. It's beautiful and I love it." Jack explained and Chase smiled.

"I have the perfect spot in my citadel, Spicer, for it to sit and stay untouched." Jack smiled.

"Thank you, Chase."
