CHAPTER 7
ALEC'S POV
Watching as the lower guards cleaned up after our feeding I tried not to think of my very human mate just down the hall but it seemed that my sister and Demetri and Felix wanted to talk about it as they approached me. Felix had that goofy look on his face as he teased me.
"Are we not going to talk about your very human mate?"
"No."
"Come on, Brother. I do find your human entertaining. And she couldn't keep her eyes off of you."
I knew as much as I couldn't keep my eyes off of her either but the feelings my human mate stirred in me, unnerved me. I wasn't used to this. Luckily Aro spoke up, saving me from Felix and Jane's teasing.
"Little Cecilia will make an excellent addition to our guard. Alice's vision showed Cecilia as one of us and she also confirmed that Cecilia is Alec's mate."
Aro's words comforted me, at least I knew she would join me on the guard and I wouldn't be forced to choose between my job and my mate. Hearing the frantic heartbeat of the newest reception make her way into the throne room I pushed my thoughts aside, not wanting to deal with them right now. Aro met the receptionist at the bottom of the steps of his throne.
"Ah! Gianna. What seems to be the problem?"
"M-master Aro. The human girl is causing a scene. She is throwing things from my desk at the others."
"Demetri, Felix. Why don't you go see what is going on."
CECILIA'S POV
I was in a blind rage, I had thrown every knick knack that was on the reception desk at Edward and even Alice but I did not feel better. Alice had retreated to where Bella sat off to the side, away from my line of fire as Edward stood there with a condescending look on his face and his arms crossed.
"You are being childish Cecilia. You know nothing about my relationship with Bella. I left to protect her but I'm back now and I will continue protecting her."
I felt like I could scream. This jackass just didn't get it.
"Edwardo I don't give a fu-"
"I don't care what you feel. You are nothing but a child and don't know what you are talking about."
I was overcome with white hot rage and didn't think about what I was doing when I picked up a chair and threw it at Edward. The chair broke apart when it hit him, only angering me more and I took a couple steps toward him but was stopped by a pair of arms grabbing me and lifting me up before taking me from the room. I struggled, I kicked and flailed my arms as I was taken back into the throne room. When I was placed on my feet I swung around and slapped Felix across the face, Felix let out a warning growl but stopped when Aro called out to him causing me to turn around and face him.
"Cecilia. It would seem you have a problem keeping your hands to yourself."
Was he chastising me? I immediately got defensive, pointing an accusatory finger at Felix who had retreated to stand by the door.
"He started it. That is the second time he manhandled me! I'm injured and sasquatch out here pulling wwe moves!"
"Why doesn't Alec show you to the kitchen?"
I grew excited at the idea of being alone with Alec as he led me from the throne room. I couldn't help but stick my tongue out at Felix when I passed him and I even flipped him the bird before Alec grabbed me and pulled me out of the room.
The kitchen was surprisingly modern and well stocked but I stuck with a simple peanut butter and Jelly sandwich. I even made one for Bella. Putting everything away and cleaning up the knife I used, I turned back to the door where Alec was standing to see Felix had joined him. I was still upset from being manhandled so I picked up one of the sandwiches I made and threw it at Felix's head. I did not expect for it to hit him in the side of the face but it drew both of their attention to me.
"That's for trying to eat my sister. And for manhandling me."
