CHAPTER 12
I felt ice cold hands lift me up and wrap something around me; I started to struggle in fear.
"Calm down Cecilia. It's me, Demetri. I'm going to take you to my hotel room. You are safe now."
Calming down, I relaxed in Demetri's embrace. I could still feel all my clothes on me which was a good sign and offered me more comfort. It didn't take long before Demetri was sitting me down on the couch in his overly expensive hotel room as Felix came out of one of the rooms, he looked almost startled to see me.
"Demetri. What is she doing here?"
"She was being attacked. I couldn't just leave her behind."
Feeling exhausted I laid down on the couch as Felix and Demetri continued to talk quietly so I couldn't hear them before Felix left the room while Demetri came over to me.
"Why don't you go take a shower before I take you back to Edward and your sister."
"How did you know I was here with Edward and Bella?"
"Jane called us. We were actually working in the state and Jane wanted us to check on you."
I didn't know how to feel about the idea of being stalked like this but I was too mentally exhausted to think more on this. Demetri gently helped me up before leading me through a bedroom and into a big bathroom with a shower with glass doors and big glass windows that face the skyline. Demetri gave me a big white fluffy towel before leaving the bathroom, closing the door behind him.
FELIX'S POV
I walked back into the main living area when I heard the shower turn on in the bathroom. Demetri was sitting on the couch with his face buried in his hands, taking deep breaths to calm himself down.
"When I found them she was already knocked out, it looked like they had bashed her head against the wall. They were too intoxicated to get her belt undone."
I sat on the recliner, watching as Demetri sat up.
"Did you kill them? Did they… you know?"
I couldn't say the words, just the mere thought of something so horrific happening to her was making me shake with rage. Cecilia may not be my mate but she was still a woman and she was Alec's mate and that meant she was under Volturi protection. I couldn't even begin to imagine how Alec would react if something like that did happen to Cecilia, he would feel like a failure as her mate and protector.
"Yes. I did kill them but I intervened before they could get her pants off so she remains untouched. I have to call to check-in and I will explain to Alec what has happened."
I shook my head, Alec couldn't know. I grabbed the phone off the coffee table before Demetri could grab it.
"You can't tell him."
"He has the right to know, she is his mate."
"Then tell him once we are back in Italy. If we tell him now he will force us to bring her back to Italy."
Demetri stood up ready to fight me for the phone when the bathroom opened. Cecilia came shuffling out, her hair dripping wet and slowly soaking her t-shirt. She looked like a sad small child in that moment.
"I-I need to go home. My mother is probably worried about me."
Slipping the phone into my front pocket as Demetri glared at me, he wouldn't do anything now that Cecilia was in the room.
"We will take you back. Are you okay with walking or do you want one of us to carry you?"
"I can walk, the house isn't too far from here. I actually passed this hotel on my way to the skatepark."
I clapped my hands together wanting to lighten the mood but it only caused Cecilia to jump in fright. This poor girl, I almost wanted to take her back to Italy, to Alec so she would be properly protected.
"Well, let's go then."
