CHAPTER 20
The next few weeks I got a part time job at the local diner to pay for a new bed frame as mine didn't survive the night between me and Alec. Bella was busy with the Cullens, our sibling bond hadn't recovered from the newborn army so we weren't close any more.
Going downstairs one morning I saw Charlie sitting at the kitchen table, downing a beer.
"Little too early for day drinking isn't it?"
"Not today. Did you know your sister is getting married in a month?"
I shook my head 'no' as Charlie handed me the wedding invitation, it only showed me how far Bella and I drifted apart, downing the rest of his beer, Charlie got up and went into the living room. I could faintly hear him mumble about his boy-crazy daughter as I put the invitation on the fridge so it wouldn't get lost.
The following weeks I noticed the wolves had started to stake out the diner I worked at, Seth was the one that walked into the diner at the wrong time as I charged him and forced him out the front door and to the side of the building.
"What the fuck is wrong with you!"
Seth looked startled as he held his hands up in surrender.
"I-I just wanted breakfast."
"You're stalking me, you and all the other mutts. I want to know why?"
Seth heaved a big sigh, leaning against the brick wall.
"Fine. The pack knows about your involvement with the red eyed vampires that even the Cullens are scared of. Sam wants us to keep tabs on you so we know when the red eyed vampire and his friends show back up."
Glaring at Seth I took a few steps away from him. I was so tired of people poking their noses in my business.
"You tell Sam that if I catch another one of you mutts sniffing around here again, I will make sure the Volturi come pay him a visit. Now get the hell out of here!"
Seth gave me one last look before he ran off into the woods, leaving me alone. A part of me did feel bad about threatening Seth but a larger part was done with the supernatural creatures and fights. I just wanted Alec to come visit, I had not heard from him since the newborn army and I missed him dearly. I was starting to feel the effects of the mating bond, I'm not as traumatized as Bella was but I was starting to not sleep at night. Closing my eyes I leaned back against the brick wall, I was ready to go home and take a nap.
"Mi Amor. I have missed you."
Spinning around I saw Alec, he was dressed in simple black slacks and a dark red button up but he still looked ethereal compared to the mundane brick wall and surroundings. Running to him, I all but threw myself into his arms, the feeling of his cold arms wrapped around me and his scent filling the air I breathed, soothed me in ways I did not know I needed as tears streamed down my face.
"Oh, Alec. I can't do this again. I can't be separated from you again. Please. Please let me come back with you. Turn me, I don't care! I don't ever want to be separated from you again."
I clung to Alec behind the old diner, knowing that the next time he left Forks, Washington I would be at his side.
