CHAPTER 26

Jane helped me up and back into bed before leaving me alone. I felt hurt and betrayed. Alec had never come close to hurting me before and yet he threw me across the room and looked like he was going to kill me. For the remainder of the day, I stayed in bed, by the time the sunset I felt like I cried all my tears before drifting into a fitful sleep.

My head was pounding, I felt dehydrated and sick to my stomach again. Forcing myself out of bed I stumbled my way into the bathroom, just making it to the toilet as vomit came spewing out of my mouth. My throat burned as my stomach was empty so I was only throwing up stomach acid. A cold pair of hands pulled my hair out of my face, thinking it was Alec I weakly swatted at the hands but a female voice startled me.

"It's okay sweety. You must be getting sick."

I looked at the female who helped me up and to the sink so I could rinse out my mouth. The female was tall and gorgeous with hair almost white with how blonde it was, I didn't have time to study her for long before another woman came into the bathroom with a scowl on her face, this woman was just as gorgeous but had hair as dark as the night sky.

"Athenadora. Don't baby the human. Get dressed human. We are already running behind."

Going to the closet I got dressed in a pair of blue jeans and a simple black t-shirt with a hoodie over it. Finger combing my hair I joined the two vampires by the door, they both looked me over, Athenadora frowned before looking around the room.

"I think we have rats. Do you hear that thumbing sound?"

The dark-haired vampire looked around also before shaking her head.

"It's just the human's heartbeat. We haven't been around a human for this long before."

Athenodora looked unconvinced but didn't say anything else as we made our way to the reception area. The area was full of guard members and the three kings, Athenodora and the dark haired vampire went to their sides, Athenodora eagerly wrapped her arms around Caius and for the first time ever, I saw him smile and show affection to Athenadora, who I assumed was his mate. Once they had greeted eachother the group came back over to me, Aro had his arm around the dark haired vampire.

"Cecilia. This is Sulpicia and Athendora. Mine and Caius's wives. You will be traveling with them."

"Caius. Do you hear that? It's the thumbing noise again, I heard it in Alec's room and now I hear it again."

Sulpicia shook her head.

"Athenadora. I already told you, it's the humans heartbeat."

Again, Athenadora didn't look convinced but before she could protest Aro spoke up.

"It is time for us to depart. I will see you three in America. Have a nice flight."

I looked away as they said their goodbyes, as I looked around I spotted Alec, it felt like my heart was caught in my throat as I looked at him with some lower ranking female guard practically hanging off of him. I looked away before we could make eye contact but I know he saw me looking, luckily Sulpicia and Athenadora guided me out of the room with a small group of guards surrounding us.

I was impressed to see a private jet waiting on a private airstrip for us, our pilots were human as they seemed dazzled by the queens who gave them charming smiles when they boarded. I went to the back of the plane and curled up in a seat, wanting to be left alone but Athenadora took a seat in front of me.

"I saw Alec and that harlot."

"The last thing I said to him was I hated him. He then threw me across the room."

My throat grew tight and I swallowed down the tears. I wasn't going to cry again, I had cried enough.

"You are Alec's mate. He loves you. That harlot means nothing to him."

"I don't care. If Alec can find someone else then so can I."

Athenadora laughed at my words.

"Oh sweetheart. After you and your sister came to us and it was revealed you were Alec's mate one of the guards was stupid enough to make a comment about you, and Alec tore him apart. So if you think Alec would let another man touch you and live is comical."

I didn't know what to say, but luckily the plane started to take off.
