CHAPTER 29

I don't know how much time had passed but my belly only grew in size, we were still unable to see into the placenta but my baby was strong as he had broken a rib from kicking me. Lydia helped me as much as she could, she would bring me books or sit and play chess with me, though she seemed reluctant to speak about what led her to be my nurse, she did let slip Vladimir was holding her family hostage.

"Lydia, please. Vladimir won't let you or your family life once I give birth to this child. He doesn't care about you, he will probably feed you to my baby but if you help me my mate will protect you and your family but if you let me die. My mate will stop at nothing to find you and make you pay. He will torture and slowly kill your family in front of you. He will feast on their blood and rip out their throats while he forces you to watch."

Lydia seemed horrified by my words as she hurried from the room. Defeated I slammed my head into the pillow, giving out a frustrated sigh I thrashed around, screaming as I pulled against the handcuffs. I was crying again as the door opened again and Lydia came back to my bedside, slipping a metal object and a piece of paper into my hand before leaving without a word. Looking down I held up the object, a smile breaking out on my face, a phone, Lydia had given me a cellphone to call Alec. Hurriedly I flipped the phone open and dialed the number for the receptions desk in Volterra, the phone rang three times before a woman answered.

"Hello, my na-"

"My name is Cecilia. I'm Alec's mate. I need to speak with him right now."

"Hold please."

The line was quiet for a few minutes before I could hear someone on the other end.

"C-Cecilia?"

"Alec!"

I could hear what sounded like a sob coming from Alec.

"Oh, Cecilia. I thought you were dead! Where are you? I will come to get you right now."

Tears poured down my face at the raw emotions building up in me.

"T-the address is…"

Blinking away the tears I looked at the piece of paper with the address on it.

"Alec, I'm in America! I-I'm at 304 Waterway Seattle, Washington."

"I'm on my way. I'll be soon. I love you, Cecilia."

Hanging up the phone I felt better after hearing his voice and that he was coming to get me. Lydia came in soon after to take the phone and the piece of paper, not saying a word to me.
