CHAPTER 30

I was anxious, I couldn't get my heart to stop racing as time ticked by. I didn't know when Alec was coming to get me but I was ready to see him again, I didn't know how he would react to seeing me obviously very pregnant. Would he think I cheated on him? What happened with my sister? The Volturi obviously won as Alec was still alive and now back in Italy. All of the unknowns clouded my thoughts, I was becoming unsure of what would happen when Alec did show up. Placing my hand on my swollen belly I felt my child move around, doing little flips.

"Are they coming?"

Lydia stood in the doorway.

"Yes, they are. Alec is coming to get me. I do have to tell you, they will either kill you or turn you, or… you could leave right now. Leave and go somewhere else, new name, new everything and don't ever speak of what you saw again. It is against the law for humans to know of their kind and Alec is apart of the Volturi that uphold that law."

Lydia nodded her head frantically, giving me the keys to the handcuffs before running out of the room, leaving me alone. I didn't know how long it would take for Alec to get here and I didn't want to risk Lydia being caught. Uncuffing myself I struggled to sit up due to my heavily pregnant belly, finally getting out of bed my legs felt like jelly as I used the bed to stay up right. I didn't realize I how long I had been laying in that bed but I couldn't stand on my own.

"Look who is ready to pop."

Vladimir stood in the doorway, a sinister smile on his face and a knife in his hand. I placed a protective hand over my stomach.

"Please, just let me go. Alec is on his way."

"No, no, no. Sweet little Cecilia. I need that bastard welp in your womb and you look ready."

I tried to move back but fell onto the floor, whimpering in pain as my baby moved around. Vladimir roughly grabbed my arm, yanking me up as he wrapped an arm around me, my back was flushed with his chest as he carried me out of the room.

"VLADIMIR!"

At the end of the hall stood Alec and Jane, Demetri and Felix stood behind them.

"Alec."

He was just how I remembered him. It had been so long since the last time I saw him.

"Ah, Alec! So glad you could join us."

Vladimir moved the knife to my stomach, I tried to struggled but stopped when Vladimir dug the knife into my stomach, threatening to break skin.

"There's no escape. Let her go and we will let you live."

Vladimir gave a dry laugh.

"Live. What is living when I am on the run. You took my last companion away from me when you killed Stephan. So now, I am going to return the favor. A mate for a mate."

Quicker than i would even process Vladimir sank the knife into my stomach. I lurched forward as the searing pain took over, my shirt grew sticky and wet with my blood as I was pushed to the ground.
