CHAPTER 32

Wrapping my arms around Alec I pulled him tightly to me, never wanting to let go.

"Sweetface. You are stronger than me right now."

Dropping my arms I took a step back and ended up on the other side of the room. Wrapping my arms around myself, to keep myself from hurting Alec again I was plagued with a blurry memory of my belly, swollen with the child Alec and I created together.

"What happened to our baby?"

Looking at Alec I saw his eyes dart to the door, I could hear the sound of heels clicking before a beautiful woman opened the door, Heidi, as I remembered her name, came into the room. Giving Alec a smile, which caused a wave of anger to boil in my chest, going back to Alec I stood in front of him, glaring at Heidi.

"Cecilia. We are all so happy you are awake. I brought a human for you."

I had been so focused on her attention toward Alec that I had blocked out the sound of heart beating. Now that I was focusing on it, my mouth filled with venom as my throat burned, seeing the close proximity of Heidi and my prey I gave her a warning growl.

"Leave Heidi. I can take care of Cecilia."

Heidi left without another word as I stalked toward my prey, the human looked around dazed now that Heidi's charm had worn off. I pounced before the human had time to react, sinking my teeth into his kneck as I crushed his body in my arms. Once his body was empty of blood I let it fall to the ground with a thump, whipping my mouthI licked the excess blood off my hands. My throat still burned but it was more manageable now as I turned to Alec to see him watching me, his eyes black with hunger and something else. Alec was the one to initiate contact this time, I let him grab me and move me around so I was flush against his chest, my arms hung at my side, I didn't want to hurt him again.

"I thought you were gone. Cecilia, I love you. I love you so much and I'm sorry for how I acted before you were taken."

"I don't even know what we were fighting about, all I remember is feeling anger and… fear. I was scared I would lose you and the last words I spoke to you were said out of anger, not love."

Tilting my head back I looked up at Alec, I knew I loved him as a human but the feeling was nothing compared to what I felt for him now. Leaning down Alec smashed our lips together, I eagerly responded, wrapping my arms around him, careful not to squeeze him. Alec ended our kiss sooner than I would have liked as I tried to chase his lips but he stopped me with a smile and a finger to my mouth.

"I want to show you something."

Taking my hand Alec led us at a human pace out of the room and up a flight stairs, we passed by a few windows and I could see I had been underground and was now going to the second floor. Coming to a stop in front of the window I looked at Alec, confused.

"Look out the window. Do you see Jane?"

Doing what Alec said I looked out the window to see Jane in the gardens, sadly it was an overcast day so her skin only glowed, something a human would not have been able to see, but in her arms was a baby. Gasping I looked at Alec, who had a small smile on his face.

"Is that…?"

"Our son."
