Chapter 12-"New Special Friend'
Friday, October 16, 2020
Yakko was walking down the halls, he was moving his crutches as he was picking up his feet, the former Cartoon Star had his backpack on both of his shoulders as he was going to his second-period class. Then, the friend he made two days ago, Steve, walked up to him. Steve was the same age as Yakko. He had blonde hair, blue eyes and he was light-skinned. "Hey, Yakko," he said. Yakko smiled. "Hi, Steve!" Yakko said. His friend smiled. He was always in a good mood when Yakko's around. Maybe because Yakko gave off positive energy wherever he went, and that was a good thing. The whole school knew that Yakko was one of the happiest students and actors they've ever encountered. Even Dr. Hershey said he's a blessing to have with his brother and sister here at Citizens Of The World Charter School.
It was 10:55 in the morning. He and his new friend Steve were walking Mr. Sweeney's class together. Steve was listening to PRACTICE by DaBaby. Yakko had an AirPod in his ear while listening to the song. And he liked it so far. He and Steve both walked. "I'm sad that you're not working on the reboot," Steve said. Yakko grinned. "Why?" he said in his Jeffy voice. "Because it would be awesome! Just think about it. We can get all the access to the studio." he said. Yakko smiled. "I don't think Channing would like that, man," he said. "Aw, come on dude,"
"Well, I can try," Yakko said as they stopped by Mr. Sweeney's open door. "Sweet! Thanks, dude," he said, pausing his music. "Oh, here you go," Yakko said, taking the left AirPod out of his ear. Steve puts it back in his small white AirPods case and closes it, then puts it in his pocket. They walked to class and they got on with their day.
Wakko was in his class now Ms. North. He was doing a worksheet that his teacher handed to him.
Fixing his red hat from the Ananimacs cartoon. He began reading the worksheet.
After he was done, he circled in all three of his answers, then he put his name down and the date. Ms. North told everyone if they were done to flip their worksheets over and she was going to come around and collect them. Wakko did just that, he went into his white Warner Bros. backpack and took out a book. He'd asked Channing if he could go to Barnes & Noble's and get them all books they would enjoy.
Wakko got a book called; what is the story of looney tunes. The middle Warner child opens it up and begins reading the first page. What Is The Story Of The Looney Tunes? Wakko smiled as he began to read his book. He always liked the Looney Tunes and when he saw that they had a book in Barnes & Noble about his favorite Warner Bros. cartoon, he just had to buy it! But of course, Channing had to pay for it.
The reason for that was that Plotz froze their bank accounts—but, for some reason, they still received deposits. But Plotz would most likely take their money. The Warner kids received equal pay. Wakko used to get $20,000.000 to $35,000.00 per episode. And that goes for his other sibs as well. Scratchnsniff, their P-Physcrist. Takes their checks to the bank or their former P-Physiatrist.
Wakko continued reading as a large boy walked up to him, the middle Warner looked up his name was Jason. Jason was a large muscular boy, he looked like he'd been held back…. Wakko calculated maybe. Three or four times. He looked like an eighth-grader. The boy had a mop of brown hair which covered his right eye. He was large and muscular. This boy would beat up Yakko and him—and that scared him. "Um…. H-Hello." Wakko says, his tongue sticking out of his mouth.
"I don't like you!" The boy seemed to have that Malibu vibe and he seemed like he surfed a lot. Wakko didn't like to judge people or heck—even 'Toons! But this boy seemed dumb in Wakko's eyes. "Why not?" he asked the large boy.
"You're a cartoon. And I hate cartoons," he said.
Wakko felt chills run down his spine and his heart beating out of his chest. He stood silent for a few minutes. Wakko tried to process what was happening.
Does he hate cartoons? That's impossible, everyone loves cartoons! Except for this special species.
Wakko frowned. His spirits were low for the entire class. Ms. North noticed this, but she continued with teaching the class.
Wakko walked out of class and headed to the cafeteria. Then he bumped into his 'new special friend' Jason.
"Hey watch where you're going!" Jason said, balling his fists. Wakko clenched his Warner Bros. backpack by the straps and kept on walking. He went to the lunch line to get his food. He grabbed a tray, today's lunch was Chicken Tenders with a side of vegetables and a mini cake for dessert. Wakko went to the other side. Handed the lady five dollars and typed the PIN on the keypad. 5157.
Wakko saw his brother Yakko sitting by his friends. And he walks up. "Hi, Wakko!" Yakko's friend Michael said. "Hey, guys. Can I sit here? Please?" Yakko looked concerned. He usually doesn't ask. His sib would just plant his butt and sit, something wasn't right. "Sure you can, Wak." Wakko did. He sat and ate his food slowly. Something wasn't right… and Wakko wanted to get to the bottom of this.
"Hey, Wakko. Is something wrong?" Yakko asked, pulling on his LAKERS jersey slightly. Wakko fixed his hat. "I'm fine…." Wakko sighed and ate. "Well… you're not… uhhhhhh, acting like yourself, sib," Yakko said, moving his crutches aside a little more so they wouldn't fall. Wakko sighed. "Yakko. How do you deal with someone who picks on you? Like that chicken guy." he says remembering that one Animaniacs episode titled; Morning Malaise, Yakko roasted Howie Turn so much that he blew upright on the radio! Yakko remembers his lines very well from that episode.
"Hey, your show was messed up way before we got here."
"Ooh, very funny, who writes your material?"
"They do." he jabbed a thumb to Wakko and Dot who were both typing on typewriters.
"Lok, why don't you guys bother Rush Limbaugh?"
"We're afraid he might eat us."
Then it went on and on until he roasted him so hard that he exploded and that was the best day of his life. The day he roasted Howie Tom on the Air. Yakko laughed as he remembered it like it was yesterday. That was his favorite episode to film. His other friend snapped his fingers in his face.
"Earth to, Warner. Anyone in there?" Joey asked. Knocking his fist against his head. "Aye, what gives man?" Yakko said. "Bruh, you were spacing out," Joey said, Yakko picked up his other foot which didn't have a cast on it. Just one of his black and white Air Force 1's he wore. Yakko rested his right foot on his left leg and he put his gloved hands on his shoe.
Just then, the bell rang. Yakko got up and grabbed his crutches. He picked up his left leg so he wouldn't put pressure on it and he walked outside.
Wakko put his arms inside the sleeves of his sweater as he walked into the warm Los Angeles air. Just then, his 'new special friend' Jason knocked him to the ground. "Awwww, ya stupid 'Toon what are you gonna do? Cry to your mommy?" Just then a basketball hit him in the back of the head. "OW, HEY WHAT WAS THAT FOR YOU LITTLE PUNK?!" he asked. "Leave him alone!" A dark-skinned boy said. He was 5'5 in height. He had glasses, black curly hair and he wore a Looney Tunes T-shirt, blue shorts, and red and orange Nike high tops. Wakko looks at him as he picks up his basketball. "Awww, what do ya want nerd?!" he said, "I said, leave him alone ya jerk!" he said as he walked up to the boy.
Wakko was thankful for the boy who saved him.
"Woah, who are you?" he asked, his tongue sticking out of his mouth. "I'm Bryce. Nice to meet you man, and who might you be?" he asked.
"I'm Wakko Warner." he smiled. Bryce smiled and picked up the ball that he just hit Jason with.
Thanks for doing that for me," he said. "No prob dude. Anything to help. So, are you new here?" Wakko asked. "Yeah, I just came here to visit. To see if I like it here or not." Bryce said. "Faboo! You are gonna like it! We've been going here for almost a week so far and we love it!" Wakko smiled at the dark-skinned boy. Bryce smiled. I think I'm gonna like it at this school… the boy thought to himself. Then, he said; "Hey, Wakko wanna play basketball?" Bryce asked. Wakko smiled. "Yeah!" he said, taking off his sweater and revealing a purple LAKERS T-shirt with the number 23, and on the back, it said the last name JAMES on it in yellow font.
"Hey, cool shirt," Bryce said.
"Thanks, Bryce. Are you a fan of LeBron James?" the middle sib asked his new friend. "Well…." Bryce said. "Well, what? Do you like another player? I don't care, we can still be friends if you want." the little British boy said. "I didn't tell anyone this except Dr. Hershey but…"
He leaned into his ear and whispered to him "I'm LeBron James' son." he said, Wakko couldn't believe it! So he was talking to a basketball superstar's son?! This is a dream come true for him! "That. is. AWESOME!" Wakko exclaimed. Bryce smiled and crossed his arms then he fixed his glasses. "Hey! You HAVE to meet my brother and sister. They're gonna flip out when they hear about this!" Wakko said as he grabbed Bryce by the wrist and they went on the hunt to look for Yakko and Dot.
Dot was running around. Playing tag on the field with some kids. "Tag! You're it!" a boy touched another boy named Dale on the arm. "Tag! You're it now!" he said Dot, the former Cartoon Star ran. She was running away with one of her classmates whose name was Tasha. And they were trying not to get tagged by Dale now. Dot ran and climbed a tree.
Yakko couldn't play because of his broken foot so he sat on the side. He sighed and saw everyone playing. He wished he could run around with his sibs and friends but, he had this stupid cast that he had to keep on his foot for at least three weeks. At least it was the weekend. So he can rest this weekend. Thank Arceus for that. Yakko put his elbows to his leg and his hands rested on his chin. He sighed. He wanted to play tag with his sister. Bad, but again he couldn't.
Just then, Wakko ran up to him. "Hey, Yakko! I would like you to meet my new friend Bryce!" he said smiling. "Hey, Bryce!" he said in Jeffy's voice from SuperMarioLogan's videos. "What, doing?" he grinned. Wakko laughed, along with his new friend Bryce. Bryce smiles and fixes his glasses. "Hey Yakko!" he said in the same voice. "What Doing?" He said then laughed- the man he can be zany. And he loves it! "I'm good!" Bryce said. "Are you visiting?" he asked. Then, his little brother explained that he was visiting and checking out the school if he liked it so that he could come here next year. "Wait…."
Yakko said a boy with a white shirt and blue shorts was listening to his music on his iPhone 6. "Hey, dude! Can I borrow your phone?" Yakko asked.
The boy nodded as he handed Yakko his phone. He pressed the home button and it had a pretty cool background of a Pokémon. Yakko knew those Pokémon, they were Maril and Lapras. His favorite Pokémon type is Electric, he watched Pokémon the series; Sun and Moon. so, his favorite type would automatically be electric. Electric types are just so cool! He wishes that he could go to Japan and take a tour of Gamefreak and meet the creator of the games—Satoshi Tajiri! That would be a treat! Maybe he could ask Channing after Christmas if they could all go to Tokyo Japan.
He looked at his brother and the boy and he remembered what he was going to do. He slid to the left to unlock his phone. Then he went on a compass-looking app that read Safari. He opened it and typed in LeBron James. Then he pressed the blue search button at the bottom of the keyboard next to the space bar.
A blue line loaded up and it popped up with the information on him. He went down and read the fifth row after; Current team, he read off where it said Children; Bronny James, Bryce Maximus James, Zhuri James. Yakko clicked Bryce's name and clicked on it. He clicked on a picture of him and he looked at him then back at the phone. The oldest sibling stared at him again, then it clicked. Yakko smiled widely, Bryce smiled too. "Y-Y-you…. Oh, man!" Yakko said, "Yep! this is Bryce Maximus James!" Wakko said.
"Hey, could I have my phone back?" the boy asked, Yakko looked at him then back at the phone. Then he remembered. "Oops sorry, brain fart," he said, laughing nervously as he handed him back his iPhone. Yakko wanted to scream and pass out. He couldn't believe that Bryce Maximus James was here at their school! This has to be the best day ever!
Then, Dot ran up. "Hey, Dot!" Yakko said as the youngest Warner sat by him. "Oh! Are you Bryce James?!" she asked. The boy nodded again. "He saved me from this jerk named Jason," Wakko said. "Yep, ball right to his stupid head!" Bryce smirked. Wakko laughed and put an arm around Bryce's shoulder.
Yakko was playing a game called Mancala that the Basketball star's son got from his backpack. Bryce put all the beads into the holes one by one. Some beads fell off the board and onto the table because they were just too much. "How do you play this game, Bryce?" Bryce put the beads into the holes and explained. "Well. see these large holes at the end of the board?" he asked the former Cartoon Stars. "Uh-huh," Wakko said, tongue sticking out of his mouth.
"Well. you have to pick up a handful of beads like this-" Bryce said as he demonstrated. Putting the beads into the spaces filled with other beads. "-and if you get all your beads to the end on the board in this one large space and of your out of beads, you'll have to pick up more and do the same, but it's not one-sided, meaning-That you Can't just put your beads in the spaces on one side it needs to be equal." he explained. "You have to go around the board but put your beads into your larger space," he said, moving his right hand in a circular motion as he explained the game to the Animaniacs.
"Ohhhh!" The Warner's said.
"Okay. Are you guys ready to play?" Bryce asked. They nodded. Wakko and Yakko went first, Yakko faced Wakko as they started. Wakko grabbed a handful of beads from his side and he placed one bead into the spaces and his large one and he kept on going across the board. Yakko watches him hearing the sounds of the beads as they crash down onto each other "Oh, I almost forgot to mention. If you have no more moves, then your brother has to go, like… let's say if you have…. One more and you land here-" he said pointing to a space. "Or there-" he said, pointing to Yakko's and Wakko's space. Then it's your brother's turn." he explained. "Oh, okay." Yakko smiles as they play.
Dot looks at the Hollywood sign she sighed. "Is something wrong?" Wakko asked, finally putting his sweater into his backpack so he wouldn't lose it or leave it while he's at school. Dot looks at him. "No, I'm fine," she said, turning back to Yakko and Bryce. The two boys were done playing and now they are counting their beads. "I have… twelve," Bryce said Yakko just finished counting his beads. "And I got thirty! Good game James!" Yakko said. "Thanks, Warner." he grinned,
Then they covered their ears as the whistle blew-Except for Bryce. "All fifth, sixth, and seventh graders, go inside!" The teacher said as she grabbed her clipboard and her water bottle. They all packed up as they went inside the school.
Yakko grabbed his crutches and went into the building. Bryce was holding his backpack and he walked up to Yakko.
"Hey, Yakko. What's up?" Bryce said. "I'm good, I'm just going to Film Production." Yakko smiles. "Oh, sweet! We're in the same class!" he said. "Hey, why didn't I see you in my classes?" Yakko asked. "Oh, I was in the back. And I thought no one was gonna be my friend…" he said, sighing. Yakko stopped walking, the two boys were in the middle of the hallway.
They were staring each other down. One awkward silence later, Yakko starts to speak. "So no one noticed you for the whole day?" he asked, fixing his jeans "No… not until Wakko was in trouble. I rushed him to help. Speaking of your sibs, where are they?" he asked.
"Oh, we're in different classes," he said. "Oh, it makes sense," he said. "Dot is in fifth and Wakko's in sixth grade," Bryce asked. Yakko nodded then they went to their last class of the day.
Wakko was in Mrs. Alexis's computer class. He sat down at a computer which was a twenty-seven-inch IMac. the whole computer class was filled with them. Wakko grabbed the co, puter mouse and went on CoolMathGames. He got a paper that logged him into the site. He skimmed through the games and he immediately grew bored. He reached into his Hammerspace and pulled out a CD of an Anamianacs Game Pack. he put it in and went to the Doc and clicked on it.
The Warner's stood outside, Bryce did too. He was waiting for he was leaning on his crutches. "Dude, you're gonna fall!" Dot said. "No, I'm not!" Yakko said. "Boi! You're gonna FALL!" Dot said. "No, I'm not!"
"Yes, you are!" Dot said, Bryce looked and chuckled. Wakko laughed too. Yakko glares at them. "Don't you have a game to go to or something?!" Yakko asked. "No, my schedule is all cleared up dude," he said. Yakko nodded. "Well, in that case. You wanna come to our house?" Yakko asked. "Hold up, don't you guys live in a water tower?" Bryce asked. "We used to. But our guardian took us out and now we live with her!" Dot said happily. "Oh, awesome!" Just then a blue Bently pulled up.
"Hi, LeBron!" Yakko said. "Um guys, that's my mom." he said
"Whoops. It slipped." Yakko said. Dot punched him hard in the arm. "OW!" he yelled, rubbing his arm. He growled playfully at his sister. Wakko laughed as Bryce got into the backseat of the car. "Hey kids!" his mother, Savannah James said, the window was rolled down at the passenger window. "Hi, Savannah!" Dot said, waving at her.
Just then, a nice-looking car. Just then their neighbor—David pulls up. David had on a bright blue tank top and basketball shorts. His LAKERS hat was backward on his head and he was listening to this Apple CarPlay. He was listening to the Pokémon Johto theme song on full volume.
Yakko got inside. He set his crutches and his backpack down in the front seat. Then David turned down the radio. "Hey, guys! How was your day?" he asked. "It was good." Dot said. "We met a new friend!" Wakko said as he smiled. "Oh? Okay, guys what do you guys want to eat?" David asked. "Can we have pizza?" Luisa asked, sitting on Yakko's lap. "That's a good idea! I'm craving pizza!" Dot said as she smiled. Yakko smiles too "Wak, are you okay with that?" David asked the middle child. "Yeah!" he said.
They go to eat pizza.
Yakko, Wakko, and Dot saw it-Hollywood Pizza Café. They parked by the entrance behind the same blue car. "Hey guys, Bryce is at the Pizza place too!" Dot said, pointing a gloved finger. "Oh, sweet! We can see Bryce again!" they said as they got out of David's car then they walked inside. Bryce was with his mother ordering up at the front. Yakko walked up with his crutches and they waited. Wakko put Bryce's hoodie up. Bryce looked and saw them. "Oh, hi Wakko!" he said as they were both high-fived. "Hi, Bryce!" Yakko said. "Are you getting pizza too?" he asked the Warner's. "Yeah!" Dot said. Luisa was standing next to the youngest Warner.
They got their pizza. But-Wakko got three whole pies. Three! Yakko smiled and laughed to himself-his brother was a mad lad!
A few minutes later they all sat down. Talked and ate with Savannah and Bryce also. "So, Bryce do you like it? Would you want to go next year?" Savannah asked her son. "Yeah! I loved it. I want to come here next year!" he said. Savannah smiled. "Oh, mom," he said. "Yeah, I'm listening," she said. "I saved Wakko!" he said. Savanna looked at the boy in the LAKERS t-shirt. Eating his pizza "How?" she asked, taking another slice of pepperoni. "Well, he was having problems with a boy in school-"
"Yeah, he's a real jerk!" Wakko said. "-and I hit him on the head with a basketball!" Savanna gasped as she looked at Bryce. "Bryce Maximus James!" he grinned. "He needed help," Bryce said, pointing to Wakko. "So, I helped by throwing a basketball at him," he said.
Yakko grinned. "Man, I WISH I saw that!" his older brother laughed.
Savannah gave David her number so he could give it to Channing later when she came back from her meeting at the studio talking about other shows and cartoons in the works. David saw the guard. "Hey, Toby," Ben said. The guard waved and let them inside the neighborhood. Ben pulled up to the driveway and he turned off the car. He picked up his iPhone and paused the music. David got out and grabbed Yakko's backpack and crutches. Yakko smiled as his neighbor handed his crutches, "Thanks." Yakko said. "No problem." Then they walked inside the house. David went inside with Yakko and the other kids. Luisa went inside too.
A few hours later, Channing came home with Scott. She saw Yakko, Wakko, and Dot all at the dining room table doing their homework. Yakko was helping his sibs do theirs. "Hi, kids." she said "Hey, Channing!" Yakko and Dot said "Hi, mum," he smiled "Hi, sweeties!" she said, kissing their heads. They smiled and Yakko continued his work. "How's your leg?" Channing asked. "It's doing fine." Yakko hugged her, Channing smiles.
The Warner kids were getting ready for bed now, Yakko was in the bathroom brushing his teethWakko and Dot did the same too. Yakko went to his room and fell on the bed. He fell asleep instantly as soon as his head touched his pillow. Channing opened the door silently and saw Yakko, his tail hanging off the bed as he slept. The Warner Bros. C.E.O smiled softly, she pulled the covers back and she slid his buddy inside. She kissed his forehead. "Goodnight, Yakko," she said as she covered up his casted foot too. She walked to the door and turned off the lights to his room.
Channing already received goodnight kisses from Wakko and Dot earlier. Channing went to her and Scott's room then they all went to bed for the night.
