Paradise Chapter 16-Sick Day and New Phones

5:23 A.M. Yakko woke up at five in the morning. It wasn't a nightmare. Or because he couldn't sleep. It was because of a bad headache. He tossed and turned to hope that he would go back to sleep.
Eventually, he did. Channing opened the door at seven in the morning. She walked over and shook him awake. "Yakko…. Yakko. Come on time to get up." she said. Yakko didn't say anything, he just pulled the covers over himself. Why was he freezing? He was fine yesterday. How did this even happen? "Yakko?" Channing tried again. Then, he yawned and rolled over and said something. "Channing? Can I stay home? I don't feel good." he said.
Channing said nothing but felt his head. It was fairly warm, to begin with, because of the fur. Yakko coughed a bit as she ran out and grabbed the thermometer.
I hope it's not COVID….. please! for the love of Arceus! Don't be COVID!
He thought Channing came back with a little white electronic stick with a screen.
"Alright, open," she said. He did as she put it in his mouth. "Close." he did and waited. She waited for a few minutes as it beeped. She took it out, it read 120°F. "You're staying home. You can't go to school." She said, "I-i don't have COVID do?" Yakko said starting to get worried. "No, Yakko you don't for that to happen you have to have a dry cough. Do you have that?" she asked. "No… it's-" he started coughing into his arm. "-Sorry…. It's wet. Like I feel mucus when I cough." Channing nodded then she got up. "Are you feeling sore in your throat?"
He nodded. "How bad?" she asked. Yakko put nine fingers up. "Okay. I'll make some soup, okay? Why won't you get some rest?" She asked. "What about-" he went into another coughing fit "-School?" he said. "Don't even worry about school. Just rest," she said as she walked out of the room. She came back a few minutes later with a fluffy Pokémon blanket. "Uhhhhh, Channing. Where did you get that?" he asked. "Well, I was shopping at Target the other day and I found this fuzzy Pokémon blanket that had a bunch of Pikachu all over it so I bought it for you and your sibs." Yakko smiled and took it.
"Thanks." he smiled. Channing closed the door and Yakko covered himself with it.
"Where's Yakko?" Dot asked, eating her cereal. "Isn't he coming downstairs?" Wakko asked, getting up and putting his bowl in the sink. "Have a bowl, Mr. Warner!" Dot said, Wakko laughed. Channing walked downstairs. "Channing? Where's Yakko?" Wakko asked. "Yakko is sick."
"He doesn't have Coronavirus does he?" Dot asked. "No he doesn't, Dot," she said.
"Come kids. We have to go," she said as they got up and grabbed their stuff. The Warner's piled into her Lexus and went to school.
They were walking inside. Then Jason walked into him, knocking him down. "Hey, stupid! Watch it!" he said "Sorry…" Wakko said. "Watch where you're going next time you little weirdo!" Wakko saw him leave and he went onto class.
"Hey, Wakko." his friend Nick that he met in Miss. North's class a week ago. "Hey Nick, What doing?" he said. Nick laughed. "SML, classic," he said. Wakko smiled behind his mask and nodded.
Wakko and Nick both were in class now sitting at their desks. Wakko was doing a worksheet for her class. He wondered how his older brother was doing. "Hey, Wakko, I heard that your brother is sick," another kid named Tom said. Wakko looked at him and nodded. "Does he have COVID?" he asked. "No. I think it's just a common cold," he said. The boys nodded as they continued their work.
Yakko was on his laptop. He just finished a five-page Google Doc on a FanFiction he's been working on. He's going to post it online. It was a Pokémon FanFiction where Ash, Mallow, Lillie, Sophocles, Kiawe, and Lana all move to California. because they saw on the news in Alola were gyms were opening up in Calabasa, San Francisco, San Diego, Burbank, Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, and Santa Monica Pier—A Total of eight gyms, Yakko was listening to STAY by Justin Beiber on the radio. Yakko was listening to 102.7 KIIS F.M on his laptop while he was typing on his Google Doc. he was working on chapter two. He just finished chapter one a while ago. So… why not start on chapter two now? But. he did have more to type.
Yakko got up. Grabbed his crutches and deceived to go downstairs. But he couldn't so he went over to his desk but he remembered…... Alexa. Channing had an Alexa that he and his sibs could use when she or Scott wasn't home.
Yakko yelled "Alexa!" The Alexa downstairs woke up as a blue light glowed around the device.
"Call David," he said from upstairs. "Okay, calling David," she said as she called David. It rang for a few minutes.
Then he answered. "Hello?" David asked, "Hey, David. Could you do me a favor?" Yakko asked from the top of the stairs. "Sure what do you need?" he asked. "Could you run to this place called Chipotle for me? I saw it when we were driving home yesterday in Los Angeles. And I want to try it." Yakko said "Sure. Let me call Channing and make sure she's cool with that." his neighbor said. "Okay." he heard the phone ring on his end and he talked to her for a little before he hung up
Yakko wasn't listening to the conversation then David spoke up. "Yakko? Are you still there?" Oh, I didn't know that he was on the other end. Yakko spoke up. "Yeah, what'd she say?" he asked. "She said yes, and she also said get ready when it's three, you and your sibs are going to Verizon," David said. "Oh, okay." he said, "what do you want from there?" David asked.
Yakko has never ordered Chipotle before. "Can you tell me what they have?" Yakko asked. "Yeah, they have burritos, bowls, salad bowls, burrito bowls, or you can build your own." he explained to the young 'Toon. "Okay," he told him all the different options. "I'll have a bowl with rice veggies, chicken, salsa corn, and sour cream," Yakko said from the top of the stairs. "Okay, I'll order it for you through Uber Eats. and if it's through my name it is because I put my name for the order." David said. "Okay, thanks David," he said as his neighbor hung up.
Yakko walked back to his room and placed his crutches next to the wall where his bed is. He decided to go on YouTube and watch a new channel he found on his recommendations called BENOFTHEWEEK. He clicked on one titled; WATCHING MY FETUS VIDEOS after he watched that one he saw another titled; Q & A IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET he clicked on it then watched the video.
A few minutes later, he got a knock on the door. He grabbed his crutches and went out of the room and leaned on the balcony. "It's open!" he said. David walked in holding a large brown bag. "Yo, Yakko!" he said "What's up, David?" He asked David, then handed him the bag. "Here's your food. Yakko. Let me know how it turned out. "
"Okay."
"You have some napkins and a fork so you don't need to go downstairs," David said. "Can you take me downstairs to the living room?" Yakko asked. "Yeah, come on." David picked him up bridal style and carried him downstairs.
"Thanks," he said. "When do you get that off?" he asked "I broke my leg on the 14th. So I think I'm getting my cast off…. Before Halloween maybe," he said, David nodded. Then he pats him on the shoulder. "Okay, Yakko. I'm gonna go now. You can call me anytime you need me." He said. "But I don't have a phone." he said "You can use your guardian's Alexa," he said. Yakko nodded. "Oh, right." he coughed into his arm. David closed the door and Yakko took out his food and wondered who got him sick. Then… He remembered. Anthony.
Yakko was walking down the halls yesterday and he stopped by a seven-year-old boy. "Hi, Yakko," Anthony said. Yakko smiled. The twelve-year-old boy was like himself. He was positive and nice to everyone. Yakko was happy to have a friend like him. He pulls down his mask "Hey Anthony." Then the boy accidentally sneezed in his face when Yakko knelt to his level. Yakko wasn't upset with the boy, but the eldest Warner Brother took him down to Nurse Jordan.
Nurse Jordan's door was open. Yakko had his foot elevated, his cast covered with many signatures from students, teachers and a small number of Warner Bros employees and actors and actresses alike signed his cast when he was walking in L.A. Yakko walked in and in came behind was Anthony
"Hello, Yakko."
"Helloooooo! Nurse Jordan!" he jumped into her arms. Nurse Jordan set him down, and Yakko fixed his shorts. 'Yes, Yakko. what do you need?"
"It's Anthony. He's not doing so well. I think he's sick." Yakko said. The nurse checked his temperature. After a few minutes, she took the thermometer out from under his arm and she looked at it. "You have a fever, Anthony, let me call your mom," she said as she read the electrochromic thermometer. Nurse Jordan looked at Yakko and smiled. "Thank you, Yakko," she said. Then He walked out with his crutches and he went to his next class.
Yakko ate his food as he was watching Crag of the creek.
Then, someone knocks on the door. "It's open!" he called as he was sitting on the floor in his house. David walked inside. "Hey, Yak. what's up I just wanna check on you," he said. "Oh, okay," Yakko said. "I'm good. I'm watching Cartoon Network." Yakko said. "Ohhh! Sweet!" he said "Can I watch. I love this show." he said as he sat with him. "Yeah, sure," he said. "Thanks, man."
"Hey, Yakko, we're home!" Channing said. "Hey, Channing. David got my Chipotle."
"Perfect. Wakko. Go grab your brother's shoes or shoe because we're going to Apple." she said "Apple? I thought we were going to Verizon." Yakko said. "Well, Wakko and Dot wanted to go to Apple because I'm getting them both laptops," Channing said. "And AirPods!" Wakko said. Yakko smiled. "Awesome!" Channing smiled. "Alright, guys let's go." They went to Apple Glendale Galleria in Glendale, California.
Once they went to L.A. Channing parked her car and the sibs ran out. Yakko stepped out of the car. His sibs ran out and started running around in circles. Once I get this cast off before Halloween. I will run around with you. He thought. The Warner's and Channing all went inside the Apple Store Yakko, Wakko and Dot were both looking around the Apple Store. They've never been in an Apple Store before. They start looking around. Channing looked at the iPhone twelves that they had. "Hey, kids come here!" Channing said. The Warner's stopped what they were doing Wakko and Dot ran over to Channing, Yakko used his crutches to get to her.
"Yeah," he said with a smile on his face. "Okay guys, they do have the colors you guys want," Channing said. "Great! Let's get them." Wakko said. "Aren't we getting laptops too?" Dot asked. "Yes, you guys are. And before you say anything. Yakko already has a laptop. I got it for him for his zoom class. "Yeah, Class. Not classes." Yakko corrected. Channing smiled and nodded. "Hello. Did you find everything you're looking for?" the man asked "Hi, uhhhhhh-" Yakko took a pause and read off his lanyard. "-Tony." Tony brushed his hair back and smiled. "Hello. Is there anything I can help you with?" he asked, fixing his blue mask. "Yes, I need three iPhone twelve Minis, two MacBook Pro's, and three sets of AirPods," Channing said. "Alright." he went to the back and retrieved the items. The AirPods and iPhone twelve minis sitting under the two MacBook Pros. he brought them to a long table and set them down. The man grabbed his scanner from his belt and scanned the items.
"Alright, that'll be $12,936," Tony said. "And what provider would you have?" he asked. "Could we do that there?" Channing asked. "Okay, not a problem," Tony said, then he bagged up their stuff in a large Apple bag. It was a white bag with the grey Apple logo on the top middle.
"Thanks." Dot smiled. Wakko fixed his Scooby-Doo T-shirt and smiled. Yakko coughed a bit after they walked out. Channing felt his head. "Yakko! You're burning up!" Let me take you home. We can go to Verizon and activate the phones." she said. Yakko nodded and went into the car. Then they drove home to put the stuff inside. Except for the phones and they went to Verizon to activate the Warner Brothers and sister's phones.
Once they got to Verizon Wireless, Channing parked. Wakko and Dot both got out, then they got in the store.
"Hello. Welcome to Verizon my name is Nathan. Is there anything I can help you guys with?" a man with black hair asked? "Yes. We need to activate three phones." She said putting them on the table. There were black, white, and purple iPhones. "Are you here to activate them?" Nathan asked her. "Yes. We bought these a few minutes ago." The WB C.E.O said.
"Alright," he said as he slid them out of the boxes. He came back with a pick to open the SIM card port to the right of the iPhone; it was a darker shade of white than the rest of the phone. Wakko knew that was his phone because he wanted white. Then he did Yakko's, which was black, and Dot's, which was purple. He came back with three red cards. He took them out, making sure not to drop them he put them into the SIM cardholders and he slid Dot's back into her phone. "Here you go kids, your phones are ready." He said smiling. Wakko was smiling. "Thanks, Nathan!" he said. "It's no problem," he said.
The Warner's went back home. Channing then set up their phones. She pressed English, then she read; Select your country or region. It read on the top. The United States then said Quick start and on the bottom, it read;
Bring your current iPhone or iPad near this iPhone to sign in and set up.
If your other iPhone or iPad doesn't show options for setting up this iPhone, make sure it's running IOS 11 or later, and has Bluetooth turned on. You can a; so set up this iPhone manually.
Then it said Choose a WI-FI Network. She connected to her WI-FI then she saw Data & Privacy she pressed to continue on all three of them it said Face ID. "Hey guys, do you want to Face ID?" she asked. "What's that?"
"It's a way to get into your iPhone. "Oh." Dot said, "No, we don't want it." Yakko said "Okay." she pressed Set Up Later In Settings. Then it said Create a Passcode. Channing turned to them. "So it's asking you for a passcode. Do you want to have that option?" Yakko turned to his sibs and they shook their heads. "No." he said "Okay, that's fine."
she said as she pressed Don't Use Passcode then they read off Apps & Data. they did not have any so Channing pressed on the bottom Don't transfer Apps & Data, Then she saw one that said Apple ID she clicked on Forgot password or don't have an Apple ID? Then it took her to another step and it said Create a Free Apple ID.
But she chose not to do that for them right now. The next thing was terms and conditions but she skipped through that on all of the kids' phones then she pressed it. She then saw Keep Your iPhone up to date. "Channing, what's that?" Yakko asked "This is for automatic software updates. Do you want to do this?" she asked. They all nodded and she clicked continue. Then she saw iMessage & FaceTime. Then she read Location services she pressed Enable Location Service
Then she read off Sri "Do you want Sri?" Channing asked "What's Sri?" Wakko asked. "Well, Sri islike your virtual assistant like the Alexa that I have. Then she set up all the other stuff. Then they moved onto the laptops. Yakko helped them with this part then they're all set.
While Yakko was setting up Dot's laptop, Wakko picked up his iPhone and went on the phone app. He went on My Card and it said Wakko Warner and the little circle it had his initials; WW in the circle. Then it said his phone number in blue; (818) 228-8202 Dot went in hers and it said the same thing in hers but the phone number was different then Wakko's (818) 283-8392 Yakko looked at his and it had his number in blue also; (818) 446-9293 They took a few minutes to get used to the phones.
Once Yakko got his Email set up for his Apple ID Yakko did the same for Wakko and Dot he gave them each their own email. Their email was set up by Gmail, and now he set up their Apple ID also. Yakkothen downloaded this app he heard kids from school talk about called TikTok, Wakko and Dot downloaded TikTok also along with Instagram. They set up their profiles on both and they were all set. Now they have to wait a bit to become Verified. Wakko Yakko and Dot all posted a selfie of each other on Instagram
Dot went on Safari on her phone and Googled what does verified mean on Instagram. It said; that your account has to be; the authentic presence of the public figure, celebrity or brand it represents. "Ohhhh, okay. But we are already celebrities." Yakko indeed "We are sister sib. We are." he said
Then, they got their AirPods set up and their laptops, Yakko, Wakko and Dot set up their Gmail's and their Apple IDs on them. They were very excited to use them.
