Chapter 6 Found out?!

I woke up with the sun shining in my eyes. But wait..my windows were just water from our pool! I looked around. I was in Polly's apartment! I found her sleeping peacefully beside me undisturbed. Oh no what time was it? I picked up my phone. It was 8:00 AM! Oh no! Skipper, Kowalski and Rico would definitely be awake! We must've gotten tired from playing the lunacorn racing game!

"Polly! Wake up!" I shook her.

"What?" She asked tired but confused.

"It's 8:00 AM!"

"Oh!" Now she was fully awake.

"I have get to the zoo! I'll see you whenever! Oh dear I have to come up with an excuse or Skipper will kill me!"

"I have something!" Polly said waddling to the kitchen. She opened the fridge and pulled out a huge salmon. "Take this and say you went to the market to surprise your brothers!"

"Oh Polly you're a life saver! Thank you!" We hugged and I went to the zoo as fast I could. When I got to my habitat I saw my brothers. I jumped into my habitat. "Surprise!" I said like nothing happened. They all turned around.

"Where have you been?" Skipper asked.

"I got you three something!" I chimed happily showing then the salmon.

"Where did you get that?" Kowalski asked.

"The market. I left money for the owner." Please buy it, please buy it! I thought.

"Oh! Well good job Private! Let's eat it!" Skipper said. Whew. I thought. We all went into the HQ to eat.

That night I couldn't wait to meet up with Polly again. I was 'getting ready' for bed when Skipper called me over. I waddled over to him.

"Tonight I thought we can have some quality time, you know away from our phones." Skipper asked.

"Oh, okay." That made me upset. I had to text Polly. But Skipper then took away my phone and put it in a bin, along with Kowalski's, and Rico's. We played cards. It felt like the same thing. I missed Polly already. Her place was just so fun. After that we got into a deep conversation about next weeks mission to the laboratory in Brooklyn to get something for Kowalski's inventions.

"Is it another love potion for Doris?" Skipper joked and we all laughed.

"Oh stop it! First of all we are very much on good terms second this really is for a project I want to test out!" Kowalski protested. Rico began to intimidate him kissing Doris. I really wanted to see Polly but I couldn't let them know about her. What if they don't let me see her anymore? She was so fun, polite, sweet, and definitely a good friend. Suddenly my thoughts were interrupted.

"Private? You still there?' Skipper asked.

"Of course." I responded.

"Now that we are all here what exactly were you referring to earlier yesterday?" Skipper asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You mentioned a mother. Have you been watching dramas that aren't for you?" Skipper asked.

"What? No! Absolutely not? Why would you think that?"

"Well it sounded pretty serious to you."

"Skippah why is it a big deal?'

"Well because of the way you've been looking at your phone. Always smiling." He said giving me a curious brow. Uh oh. He can't know. Nobody could!

"I'm just looking at funny pictures." I lied.

"Yeah? Can we see then?" Skipper asked. He pulled my phone out and gave it to me for me to show it to them. Think Private think! Then I showed him a cute gif of a duck waddling.

"Ha ha! Okay that's actually cute." Whew. Close one!" I thought. Then we got ready for bed. Although I was still determined to see Polly. I went on my phone and thank goodness I put my phone on silent. Polly left me 10 messages! Basically asking where I was, or why am I not responding? or if I am hurt. I texted her back saying I was okay but my brother had taken my phone so we can have quality time. I waited a good hour for everyone to fall asleep then left the HQ. I made it to the apartment and saw Polly up top. When I got to her she looked pretty concerned.

"I got worried when I didn't see you coming. I'm happy to see you." She told me.

"Polly I'm so sorry, my brothers almost found out about this. If they found out then I may never be allowed on my own again, or-or worse I may never be allowed to leave the zoo! Or I could never see you again-and-and, I don't want that to happen because you're a really good friend to me-" I was rushing so much and was cut off to her hugging me.

"Does this feel better?' She asked still hugging me.

"It does actually." I told her hugging her back.

"Are you calm now?" She asked.

"Yes." I said then we pulled away.

"Well that was one great hug." I complimented.

"It's a method I use on Valerie Mae when she's upset."

"Well that's wonderful."

"Why don't we go for a walk?" She asked me. I nodded. We left her balcony and walked around Central Park. It was a beautiful night. We just talked, laughed and went on about how much the lunacorns meant to us.

"You know I'm really happy we both met." She said.

"I am too. My life has been happier now that you're in it." I said. Without realizing we made it close to the zoo. "Oh no! We better turn back!" I told Polly grabbing her flipper. We slid back home on our belly's as quick as we could then made it to her apartment.

"Tonight was great. Thank you Private." We hugged then pulled away. She went back to her apartment and I went to the zoo.

Polly's POV

I closed the window and curtain behind me smiling in relief that I made it another night with my new friend. I turned around and was almost startled. I gasped. Valerie Mae stood beside the wall to our hallway to our bedroom.

"Was that a penguin from the zoo?" She asked me. I nodded shyly.

"Is he your boyfriend?' Valerie asked. I didn't respond. I just stood there. Valerie smiled. "What? Who am I gonna tell?" She asked. I communicated to her with text.

"You're not mad?"

"I've known since a week ago but never told you because you seemed happy. Your friend, your life." Valerie smiled. I texted her back.

'Thank you." I texted her. We then both went to bed.

Private's POV

I waddled back into the HQ quietly hoping to get to my bunk as if nothing happened. Until a flash light turned on.

"Where did you go?" Skipper asked me. He, Kowalski and Rico stood together at the table. I felt speechless.
