Off topic, but my birthday's tomorrow, so that's nice.
EightEight said, "Gwen, transform into Carmilla. Ben, into Dracula."
"Vampire time," Gwen randomly said, causing Ben to let out a squeaking laugh. EightEight glanced at Kevin, who bore a smirk and stared back at her. Asani was inside of the Dark Eagle, most likely resting.
Twin flashes of green and red erupted and they looked at the two watch wielders. Dracula and Carmilla stood in the cousin twin's places. Dracula suddenly winced, stepping into the shadows of a tree.
Carmilla looked at Dracula and asked, "What happened?"
Dracula looked at them, magenta eyes pierced somewhat, before he commented, "Why does sunlight hurt now?"
Carmilla tilted her head as Kevin said, "Is that normal?"
"Don't even look at me. I said it before, I have no clue what species Dracula is," EightEight stated.
"Maybe it's a difference between males and females of the species?" Carmilla suggested. "I mean, sunlight feels kind of itchy to me, but it doesn't hurt."
"Unless the species is identified by an outside source, we won't know," EightEight stated. The two vampire-likes looked at her and nodded. Kevin came over and absorbed some DNA, skin seemingly becoming paler and gaining the wing flaps.
"What do you want us to do?" Kevin asked.
"The sun-sickness doesn't change my plans much. I wanted to see if we could get some solid data to send off to identify this species," EightEight explained. "Driba most likely. I would consider Doctor Psychobos or Professor Silverthorn, but I doubt they'll come to such a backwater planet."
Suddenly, Carmilla bursted into the sky, wing flaps stretching slightly. They looked up as Carmilla settled into an odd float in the sky. Kevin just squinted and said, "That… happened."
Carmilla then dropped, shifting into her bat form as she did. When she got close to the ground, the bat spread her wings, slower her descent. She then shifted back to normal, feet on the ground.
"Show off," Dracula scoffed.
"Do you have anything to say about it?" Carmilla countered, looking at her counterpart. She suddenly stepped out of the way of a bat-rock thing being yeeted at her. The female glared at the male, who glared back.
The rock-bat thing fell to the ground, thumping on the grass. EightEight picked up the small thing, observing it and moving it in her hands. The creature was a small rock with even smaller wings. At the center of the rock was a red eye silently staring at her. A tiny tentacle crawled around her hand from the rock, seemingly trying to find something. EightEight turned her hand, then flicked the possessive rock-bat off of the hand it tried attaching to.
"We can safely say that we know a few things about this species," EightEight started, getting the Wyrmlings to look at her. "Flight, limited shapeshifting, and spawning whatever the towerspark these are." She motioned to the rock-bat before smashing it with her foot.
Kevin and Carmilla nodded, but Dracula added, "Hypnosis."
"Hm?" EightEight prompted as they looked at him.
"I haven't used it in a while," Dracula started, "but when this form looked into someone's eye, there was an instinct at the ready to hypnotize them."
"How can you confidently say that it's hypnotism?" the Sotoraggian questioned.
"Whenever I did so, it was pretty obvious what was going on. Still dunno what the bat-rock things are called despite the instinct there to spit them out," Dracula answered.
"Are we all just calling whatever they spit out some variation of rock-bat?" Kevin randomly commented.
"Yea/Yup/I suppose," Carmilla, Dracula, and EightEight all said at the same time.
"I guess we're calling them rock-bats until we get their actual names," Kevin shrugged.
"Until both of you time out, let's see if there's anything else this species can do," EightEight stated. The vampire-likes nodded in agreement.
…
"Lakshmi!" the Thep Khufan proclaimed, followed by the screech of a Radioscaviger.
"Why did you want them to transform into Lakshmi and Radiowave?" Kevin asked, looking on from the branch he decided to sit on. (EightEight didn't know why he did so, just that he did.)
"Thep Khufans have different regeneration limits. It would be beneficial to know the limit if a battle occurs," EightEight explained.
Radiowave squawked, tilting his head slightly.
"I have a theory with Radioscavigers, but they're also strong enough to rip a Thep Khufan's wrappings," EightEight added. She turned to Lakshmi. "Granted, with the regeneration, you shouldn't have to use it except for attacks with your hands, due to you being mostly protected, but better be safe than sorry."
Lakshmi nodded before asking, "So Radiowave will damage the wrappings, and while we time how long it takes to regenerate, you'll test a theory you have with Radioscavigers?"
"Essentially," EightEight nodded. "Can you roll up your sleeve?" Lakshmi nodded before grabbing the left sleeve and doing so.
Radiowave was silent as Lakshmi finished rolling up the sleeve. Under it, her skin was just a collection of bandages curved and wrapped in the form of an arm. The Sotoraggian looked at Radiowave and nodded.
The Radioscaviger stabbed his beak down, clamping onto her arm. He surged up, ripping the arm apart from where he clamped downwards. Lakshmi squeaked, stepping back as her right hand went over to the stump that was now her left arm.
Radiowave dropped the ripped arm before looking at Lakshmi and making a concerned chirp.
"I'll be ok, Radiowave," Lakshmi replied, looking at the Radioscaviger. Radiowave made another squawk before he looked at EightEight.
A clock-like device was held by EightEight in one hand, while an odd, bulky computer-like device was in the other. EightEight looked at them and said, "Messages can be passed by radio waves, but they're mostly limited to intra-planet communication. Morse code is typically based on sound, which can be translated into different languages. Blame the fact that a Sotoraggian was the one to discover that Vinculos were sapient, but I can't help but be curious if Radioscavigers mostly communicate that way and it hasn't been uncovered due to how limited radiowave communications are."
"Vinculos?" Kevin questioned.
"Kenku, but smaller, attachable biological wings, and known for music," EightEight answered. She then said, "Radiowave, send a short message to this machine. It hyper-focuses on radio waves without interrupting its travels."
Radiowave stared at the machine as Lakshmi asked, "What are Kenku?"
EightEight paused for a moment before she answered, "Think Earthen birds, but more like humans and tend to focus on fighting styles."
The machine beeped and the Sotoraggian looked at it. Radiowave walked over, as did Lakshmi. Her arm had already begun to regrow, roughly a third done. On the screen of the machine was a message, but it was only one word and more of a question than anything.
'Hello?'
Kevin dropped down and came over as EightEight appeared to have grinned. She looked at Radiowave and asked, "Do you know any Morse code?" When Radiowave just looked at her, she added, "If you don't, fly to the tallest tree, release a radiowave message aimlessly, and we'll see if this picks up the radiowave message."
Radiowave chirped before taking into the air and flying into the sky. A bit of silence followed before Kevin asked, "How much has come back? With your arm, I mean." EightEight and Lakshmi looked at said arm when the maybe-human mentioned it. The arm had regrown in its entirety.
EightEight pressed the clock-like device before she commented, "That was quick."
"How long does it normally take to regenerate?" Lakshmi asked.
EightEight made an odd noise that sounded like a cockatoo mimicking raindrops before she finally answered, "On the top of my head, a fully regeneration of the left arm- yes, Thep Khufans like to be oddly specific like that- for Thep Khufans younger than one hundred Fullmoons takes roughly a Moonkel to regenerate. I forget how long a Moonkel is for Earth, but… this was definitely much shorter than a Moonkel."
The device suddenly pinged. They looked at the bulky device and EightEight lifted it up to see it better. Another message.
'Heh.'
Suddenly, Radiowave crashed down next to them. Kevin impulsively released a bolt towards the Radioscaviger, but the blue vulture-tiger hybrid managed to dodge. The odd creature seemingly glared at the maybe-human, the single teal feather twitching.
Another ping from the device.
'Rude.'
…
"So… Radiowave can talk," Kevin randomly commented once the twin flashes of green and red passed. Suddenly, a silver star bit at the end of an antenna brushed against him, causing a spark to crackle. Kevin immediately backed away, staring at Conductash. The Nosedeenian let out a weird scoffing crackle. The maybe-human looked at the Nosedeenian and asked, "Also, when did you have a Nosedeenian form?"
"You can thank Asani for Dianmu, bzzt," the Nosedeenian crackled. EightEight looked towards the Dark Eagle. Asani was staring at them through the window, particularly at Conductash.
"O… Kay…?" Kevin stared.
"First one to knock out Kevin wins. If you time out before you can, Kevin wins. Go," EightEight suddenly said. Kevin immediately bolted away, quickly being followed by the two electric-controlling aliens.
…
Electricity flowed in and out of Leigong, through Ringhold and Kevin. When the electricity flowed from Leigong, it was tainted with green. From Ringhold, a strange bright blue. From Kevin, the typically yellow crackle. EightEight observed them as the differently colored electricity danced around the three. It danced around them in a mixed aura, making an odd glow.
"This feels weird," Kevin muttered as the electricity continued to dance.
Ringhold hummed before saying, "Feels normal."
"It feels strange at first, but it changes quickly," Leigong commented.
EightEight stayed silent as the electricity continued to dance.
…
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Kleodora asked, looking at EightEight.
"Typical health test for Petrosapiens," EightEight shrugged. "The longest one is forced regeneration after being shattered. This can be predicted via color of the eyes and 'skin', but it is known to be inconsistent. Although, Petrosapien health tests haven't been released lately, I don't know why. Some are typically released once during each of their Redshards."
"Why would they do that?" Kevin asked as Kleodora and Rhinorush stared at each other.
"I don't know. I'm not from Petropia. Though, barely any medicines work on Petrosapiens, so knowing limits would be useful," EightEight answered. She looked at the watch-made creatures. "It doesn't matter which forearm, as long as it's a forearm."
Kleodora seemingly bit her lip before holding out her right arm. The Petrosapien and the Crabdozer met eyes for a moment before Rhinorush lifted himself up. He came crashing down, smashing a leg to her arm. It broke at an ugly angle, breaking it off at a rocky slant. Almost immediately, the arm began to regrow, covering the odd wound and growing.
Kleodora just stared at the limb as it fixed itself completely. The hand reformed and she moved it. Rhinorush made an odd noise while Kevin stared and EightEight tilted her head.
"Strange," EightEight finally gurgled, causing the Wyrmlings to look towards her. "While I've never worked with a Petrosapien, it's common knowledge that green-eyed, blue-skinned Petrosapiens heal the fastest, but it takes roughly five Chipshards if damage like that is taken. Kleodora is blue-skinned and yellow-eyed. There is no way it should be that fast."
"Maybe it's because of the Omnitrix?" Kleodora suggested.
…
"… huh?" Ben randomly muttered, causing Gwen to pause and the other two to look over.
"What is it?" EightEight asked. Ben lifted up the arm with the Predatrix, which was activated and showing the hologram of a creature that looked basically human but with horns.
"This randomly came up," Ben answered, looking at the hologram.
Gwen looked over as EightEight stared at it for a moment. The Sotoraggian then muttered, "An Osmosian?"
Gwen lowered the Omnitrix and said, "Didn't Vice say what an Osmosian was back when we were in Sparksville?"
A beat.
"Electrokinesis, material absorption, and… DNA absorption," Kevin stated. "…Right?"
EightEight nodded before saying, "Although, how did the Predatrix unlock an Osmosian form? They have no natural predator and they don't typically allow their own DNA to be used for something unless they also get something in return."
Ben silently shrugged. Gwen then asked, "What, does it unlock stuff for no reason?" Once again, Ben shrugged.
"Gwen, transform into Leigong," EightEight stated.
"Shouldn't I use Raijin?" Gwen asked.
"The last time you went Raijin, you got mind controlled," EightEight deadpanned.
"… Fair," Gwen muttered.
"And no Dianmu because Asani exists," EightEight added. Gwen was quiet. "Transform into Leigong. Ben, transform into that Osmosian form." Gwen lifted the Omnitrix back up and turned over to the Transylian form while Ben put his hand over the Predatrix. She put her hand over the Omnitrix and they pressed down.
Once the twin flashes of light faded, the two transformed into the respective forms. The Omnitrix-made Transylian rolled her neck and looked at the Predatrix-made Osmosian. The Osmosian's skin was a snowy pale color, wearing odd shoes (?) that amounted to a mix of sandals and boots, a dark maroon shirt, and near black shorts. His long hair was somewhat dark brown and tied up in a ponytail. His eyes were magenta in color and his height matched Kevin's ignoring the horns. Speaking of the horns, four horns were on his head, two just before the hairline and two within it, along with being the same color as his skin. Around his neck was an odd necklace made of a rope-like material with the Predatrix symbol hanging off of it.
The Predatrix-made Osmosian looked at himself before saying, "This is what an Osmosian looks like?"
"So… humans but with horns and naturally long hair?" Leigong randomly commented.
"Kevin does have long hair," the Osmosian grinned.
The maybe-human made a squawk as Leigong added, "Plus, he does have unnaturally pale skin. Well, unnatural for humans."
He lifted a hand and electricity danced around it, along with his horns. "Also electrokinesis," the Predatrix-made Osmosian added.
"Please stop," Kevin suddenly muttered, causing both other electric users to laugh.
EightEight cut in and gurgled, "Calm yourselves." The three fell silent and looked at her. The Sotoraggian continued, "I will admit I know next to nothing about Osmosians, mainly because I've only ever worked with one once, even then it was by proxy, and our two species typically don't interact with each other. Even if Kevin is part Osmosian, I wouldn't be able to say for sure. It would be best to note for now, find if there's more similarities between Kevin and the Osmosian species, then see if someone else in the Dragoon can identify what he specifically is without needing to do a hyper-blood test."
"I'm sorry?" Kevin gawked, Leigong and the Predatrix-made Osmosian basically having the same reactions.
"It's not as bad as it sounds. Hyper-blood tests take the longest out of any blood tests because it pins down the most likely species, planet of origin, and any complications with a bit of blood," EightEight replied. She looked at Leigong, "Make sure they don't fall into insanity because that's Osmosians for you."
Leigong nodded as the Osmosian and the maybe-human both somewhat glared at the Sotoraggian.
…
The sunset faded as a tired green light flashed. Leigong was quiet as EightEight came closer to the trio. The Transylian looked away as Kevin and Ben looked at the Sotoraggian.
"As I said, I can't be for certain that Kevin's an Osmosian hybrid, but what we just did shows that it's very likely," EightEight gurgled.
Before anything else could be said, the Omnitrix began to a shrill noise. Leigong was still as the others looked over as the Omnitrix continued to whine. Suddenly, a green flash and Pandora stood there.
"Wha-" Pandora began before another flash. She transformed into Lakshmi, the Omnitrix continuing to beep in a disruptive nature.
"Is something wrong with the Omnitrix?" Ben questioned the obvious. Another flash, Carmilla.
"What is the Omnitrix reacting to?" Carmilla managed to mutter before being consumed by another flash. Leigong. She stiffened.
"What's wrong?" Kevin asked, staring at her. A sudden flash and Nike was there. However, her eyes were glowing an unnatural, toxic green.
"Gwen? Nike?" Ben asked as Nike began to roll off in a random direction.
When no reply from the Kineceleran came, EightEight gurgled, "Follow her, I don't know what's going on."
-()-
EightEight began to say something, but she frowned. She should've detransformed by now.
'Damaged DNA detected,' rang through Gwen's mind.
Wait, what? The Omnitrix suddenly reacted, forcing her to switch to Pandora.
"Wha-" she barely managed to get out before it forcibly transformed her again. This time, Lakshmi.
'DNA determined. Other half of damaged Ectonurite DNA,' the robotic voice in her head stated. She was forced to transform again, into Carmilla.
"What is the Omnitrix reacting to?" Carmilla questioned out loud. Her mind suddenly felt blank as hehe transformed again.
'Code DNA R-C activation successful.'
A beat.
'Mandatory warning: Be prepared.'
Gwen had no time to question it before her mind and body went blank.
-()-
Nike continued to roll in the direction, only moving out of said direction to move around trees or other such disturbances that couldn't be walked over. EightEight was closest to her that followed, making sure to keep the odd-acting Kineceleran in her line of sight. Kevin and Ben followed behind her, just managing to keep up. A Kineceleran being slow doesn't mean they're not also being fast, they're just going at a faster than reasonable pace. Try keeping up with a Kineceleran, keeping eyes on one is the only way to really keep track of them.
"Where is she going?" Kevin randomly asked.
"We're finding out," EightEight gurgled. Towerspark if she knew.
Eventually, the Kineceleran slowed down as they approached a clearing surrounded by six pointed rocks in a circle with a spaceship in the center. EightEight squinted at the machine as she came to one of the rocks, Kevin and Ben joining her there. A green flash came from Nike and instead of the Kineceleran, there was Zorya.
Zorya curled into a ball and threw herself at the ship, crashing into it. EightEight shook her head and just stared in absolute confusion, Kevin and Ben staring as well as a noise came from the ship. Zorya uncurled, promptly transformed into Pandora, and slashed at the ship.
"Transform, now!" EightEight demanded as a sudden blue flash appeared through the gaps made by the scratch. She ripped a talon out as the wall of the ship exploded.
-()-
"Lord Zs'Skayr, wait-" M started, an abnormal emotion within his voice. The Ecto Lord didn't listen and released a voiceless spell towards the source of the noise. A blue energy bolt crashed into the wall, tearing it apart.
"Lord Zs'Skayr!" Viktor started, looking up towards the Ectonurite.
What was that about insanity?
"Kill them!" Zs'Skayr screeched.
Viktor and Benwolf stood up as another flash of green appeared. Zs'Skayr screeched as a Nosedeenian appeared. There was another flash, this time red, and a purple feathered bird with a silver beak and four green eyes appeared. M surged forward and casted his own mental spell, barely casting in time before the Nosedeenian released a storming wave of electricity. A magical shield appeared, blocking the wave.
The electricity broke the shield, pieces of it scattering as Viktor jumped forward. The remaining electricity crashed into the Transylian and he absorbed it. Zs'Skayr growled and prepared another spell as Benwolf jumped forward and released a piercing howl.
Suddenly, the bird crashed into Benwolf, causing him to bark. A green flash occurred as M casted a spell towards the bird and Zs'Skayr released the spell he made. From the flash came a Pyronite and the blue spear of Zs'Skayr's spell crashed into the fiery creature.
Benwolf kicked the bird off of him as M's spell, a minor water spell, was released towards the bird. The purple vulture suddenly surged towards M, the water following off of its feathers. M quickly casted Contigo, but the spell never had time to form correctly as it crashed into him. M released a noise that sounded like it would wake the dead as the bird stabbed its beak as his arm. Benwolf released another howl, jumping towards the two. The bird screeched and backed away as Benwolf landed near M and kept the bird back with his howls.
The Pyronite swiftly punched Viktor, then released an explosion of flames. Zs'Skayr let out a demonic screech as Viktor yelled in alarm. Viktor glanced over and saw two figures getting into the vehicle. One of the figures- the taller one, a Sotoraggian- made a move to throw a dagger-like weapon towards Zs'Skayr.
"Lord Zs'Skayr, watch out!" Viktor yelled.
Zs'Skayr turned and the dagger struck the Ecto Lord. He screeched, then formed another blue spear and threw it at the Sotoraggian. It quickly dodged and one of the planet's natives threw a bolt at Zs'Skayr. The Ecto Lord casted a shield spell, blocking the bolt. He then flowed the shield into mana-made knives and released them towards the duo. The Sotoraggian jumped off as the native made an odd bubble of electricity around it, most likely by instinct, before the mana constructs met the electric barrier.
Benwolf released another howl at the bird, causing it to release its own piercing screech. M stood up, staggering as he glanced around. The bird suddenly surged forward, leaping into the air. The Loboan growled before he howled at the bird. It almost seemed to ignore the sound as it tackled Benwolf into M. The Thep Khufan crashed to the ground of the ship, feeling a tear go through his arm.
The Pyronite jumped over Viktor, leaving a flaming burst as she went. The fire consumed Viktor's vision as the Pyronite approached Zs'Skayr. Another green flash, a Petrosapien, then a sudden crystal pillar stabbing through Zs'Skayr's arm. The Ectonurite's screech caught Benwolf and M's attention, nearly every creature looking towards the Ecto Lord.
The Petrosapien was suddenly next to Zs'Skayr and something on its body screeched. There was a sudden explosion of green and the crystals shattered. They were forced to look away from the explosion and Viktor and Zs'Skayr were forced back by the blast. A flash of red followed quickly.
"Styx!"
"Belltail!"
Sudden fear filled the four of them.
The bell of an Anurian Shadow.
Ushi: The best place to hide is insanity~ 1- I like the OS Omnitrix, but I think I would be more likely to wear the OV Omnitrix. As for colors, brown and navy blue.
