"I see the two lovebirds have arrived," a young blonde boy nodded towards them, the British accent a bit more prevalent than his brother's.

"Hey, Tommy. Is Wilbur here?" Dream asked.

"Nope, just me and dad tonight. However, he did say that you would most likely be in with your boyfriend tonight. Is this the famous Technoblade?"

Dream's head hung in shame, face as red as one's could possibly be. "Oh, um, we aren't boyfriends, but yes. I'm Technoblade. I wouldn't say I'm famous though," the man said, a bit taken aback.

"You're famous here. Green man over there doesn't shut up about you," he laughed, grabbing two iced cups and a sharpie. "Anywho, what can I get for you?"

"I'll take a honeydew and tapioca pearl bubble tea. What about you Dream?" he said, nudging the blonde next to him.

"Oh, um, I'll just do a strawberry strawberry one. I'm not a fan of tapioca."

Tommy nodded, writing down the orders and then ringing them up and applying the employee discount. "Alright, it'll be $6.35 for both of them. I'll have them at the end."

Dream swiped his card, not wanting Techno to have to pay for anything tonight. The pinkette looked slightly annoyed at this, but said nothing, opting to watch Tommy make their drinks rather quickly. From the back of the store, an older man emerged, hair black and wirey. Dream recognized this man right away, giving him a small wave. The man, smiling at Dream, waved back before coming to join them at the end of the counter.

"Is this Technoblade?" he asked, gesturing to Techno.

Dream nodded quickly. "Yes, this is him. Techno, Phil. Phil, Techno. Phil does a lot around here, along with co-owning the store with Wilbur. He's Wilbur's and Tommy's father."

Phil had a warm, welcoming smile, a voice carrying the same slight British accent that both of his sons possessed. "It's a pleasure to meet you. If you are around here a lot, you might meet my wife as well. I wasn't supposed to be here tonight, but Tubbo had an emergency come up at home."

A slightly worried crease came across Dream's face. "I worry for him a lot. He doesn't have the best home life does he?"

"He doesn't," Phil's voice dropped slightly, glancing between them and Tommy. "Wilbur and I try to keep an eye on him the best we can, but his father is getting a bit more strict as of recent."

Before anyone could say anything more, Tommy placed the two bubble teas down in front of Techno and Dream. "Here you go. Straws are on the condiment stand near the door. See ya later Dream."

They took their teas, saying a quick goodbye to both workers before going to get their straws. Technoblade noticed the rather permanent creases of worry on Dream's forehead and couldn't help, but wonder if it was because of this Tubbo they had spoken of. Knowing that Dream would let this worry eat away at himself all night if allowed to, he took it upon himself to distract Dream.

"Okay, so I've never had tapioca pearls. I know you said you don't like them, but is there a reason why?" he asked before taking a big sip of the boba.

"Well I personally think the gummy texture is the worst part," Dream began, laughing at the face Techno made as he chewed on the pearls. "And judging by the look on your face, you may agree with me."

"The texture is all wrong. Why would anyone eat these willingly?" Techno's nose scrunched up in disgust.

"I ask myself that almost every day. It's hands down our most popular pearl. I prefer the juice popping pearls myself. Otherwise, how is it?" Dream laughed, officially distracted from the worry of Tubbo.

Technoblade took another sip, considering the taste of the actual honeydew tea this time. "I like it. I think it's really good and honestly, the texture is the only thing I dislike about the tapioca. Otherwise, it isn't that bad."

"That's good. Anywho, we have to be at the movie in thirty minutes. Should we get going?"

Dream offered his arm to Techno who readily took in, shifting his cup to his other hands. Snow had started to fall outside and it felt perfectly romantic as the soft bells sounded as they exited the store. Dream rested his head against Techno's shoulder, unsure if this was moving too quickly, but not being able to care. Things seemed to be going his way and that was all he cared about.

The rest of the night went amazingly. They had taken the short walk from the cafe to the movie theater where Techno had already purchased tickets for the two of them. Thanks to that, they were able to slide into the theater and watch the movie together, avoiding the long lines for the most part. It was a good movie, Techno getting several laughs at it, both of them shedding a few tears at times.

After the movie, they made the walk back to the cafe where Techno's car was. A short discussion upon arrival allowed them to come to the decision of fixing Dream's car now. The snow was coming down fairly heavily at this point, an inch or two laying on the roads and sidewalks already. Dream and Technoblade worked together to put the spares on, making an online appointment for Monday to get the normal tires fixed.

Tightening the final bolt on the tire, Techno stood upright, dusting his hands and jacket free of snow. "There you go. You should be all set to drive home," he said, meeting eyes with Dream.

Dream blushed slightly, hands buried deep into his hoodie pockets. "Thank you Techno. I owe you one."

"You owe me nothing," the pinkette said, leaning against Dream's car next to him. "But thank you actually. For tonight. It was fun."

"It was. I hope you'll want to do it again."

For a moment, the world was quiet, nothing but the soft falling snow and the street lamps disturbing them. It had been an excellent first date, one that would remain with them both forever. Techno reached out a hand, Dream placing his in it instinctively. Technoblade smiled at that, standing more upright, the height difference obvious here. Dream felt his heart skip several beats as the thrill of the night overtook both of them, the pinkette slowly leaning in to-

"Dream? I mean, I know you two probably had a good time, but no need to make out in the parking lot," an all too familiar voice interrupted.

Dream pulled away, startled. "What? We weren't, Wilbur! What are you doing here so late?"

"I was coming to deliver some things for tomorrow morning. Wanted to make sure you had the needed milk. Sorry for interrupting. I'll be on my way," the owner of the cafe, said before disappearing.

Now Techno and Dream both blushed fiercely, the entire interaction making everything else awkward. "Sorry about him," Dream muttered, rubbing the back of his neck and releasing Techno's hand.

"Don't be sorry. It isn't your fault. Call me on the way home. The snow seems bad and I want to know in case anything happens," Techno said.

The pinkette grabbed Dream's hand quickly, placing a soft kiss on it before going to walk away. Dream's face heated up more, shrinking into the hoodie and giving a small wave. "Okay. Will do!"

Both men got into their cars, Dream starting a call and putting it on speaker before backing out and heading home behind Techno. Sure enough, the snow and wind had picked up and it wasn't long before Dream lost sight of Technoblade's vehicle completely. The two chatted mindlessly back and forth for a few minutes before Dream noticed dim headlights approaching behind him. He was going slow, probably twenty miles under the speed limit. With the visibility of the road right now, however, it was completely reasonable. This other car sped past him recklessly, narrowly avoiding Dream's side mirror. The man cussed lightly, loud enough for Techno to pick up on it.

"There was an asshole going way too fast. Be careful," he said, resuming the careful drive.

"I'm sure it will all be fine, but I'll be careful Dream."

This was all that was said as the minutes went by. With nothing happening, both drivers relaxed, continuing the drive. If it wasn't for the wind, this would have been a peaceful drive, however, they couldn't control the weather. About ten minutes had gone by before a soft, "oh shit," was heard from Techno.

"Techno? Everything okay?" Dream's stress levels rose through the roof once more.

"Yeah, the storm is just really bad here, I-"

Techno's voice was cut off by the sound of car horns, metal on metal, and screeching brakes. The noise came through as a jumbled mess, as a distinctive thudding was heard three or four times. Car alarms broke through the split second of silence and Dream felt as if he couldn't breathe.

"Techno?" he asked, and when he received no response, he shouted his name. "Technoblade!"

He watched the call on his phone be canceled, the world slowed down for him. Everything froze as he drove, looking for a mile marker, a street sign, anything, to indicate where he was. It was only five minutes, but to Dream, it felt like forever, before he pulled past a mile marker that had the number five on it and only a few feet beyond that, to pairs of headlights in the ditch. He pulled over, throwing the car in park and running towards the cars, taking his phone as a flashlight.

As he got closer, he recognized the cars to be Techno's and the one that had flown past him a while ago. Running straight to the pinkette's, he held back a scream as he saw the broken glass and the flipped vehicle. The only through going through his head was to help Techno. But as he looked closer, he knew he wasn't going to be able to do so on his own. Gathering his thoughts, he went to make a phone call.

"911 what's your emergency?"

I do hope you enjoy some angst as this has been one of the moments I have been preparing for. Sorry for the late post. I wrote most of this chapter today, as Monday last week, I got very sick and was down for the count until Saturday. Thank you for reading, please review, and I'll see you next time!

Best Regards,
