It was not good.

The house that they pulled up to was so big and ornate that Dream almost couldn't believe his eyes. This wasn't good at all. No, this was astonishing. He knew that Technoblade's uncle was rich, but he had never realized just how rich. The garage door started to open and then they pulled right in. The car was turned off and the keys jingled as the sound of the garage door came from behind. Uncle Nix smiled at Dream, before getting out, the blonde following close behind.

"Welcome to the Corbyn household Dream. I shall show you to your room for the night, but if you need anything, just let anyone know," he walked briskly towards the door leading into the house.

The garage itself was magnificent, holding two other cars along with being fully finished and looking almost as if it was a part of the house. However, as Dream entered the hallway that lead to the main living room, he felt as if he was in a palace. The walls may not have been encrusted with gold, but they felt as if they were. Entering the living room, Dream tried to not be too blown away by the vaulted ceiling and the roaring fireplace on the west wall. This was amazing and he defiantly had no place being in such a home.

The house had a spiral staircase that lead to a small loft before branching into two hallways. As they climbed the staircase, Dream caught glimpse of the dining room and kitchen, two more rooms that were absolutely gorgeous. The floor had what seemed to be a lush red carpet that imitated runners all the way down the halls and the loft had a beautiful wood-burning stove with the most comfortable looking seating.

"Make yourself at home. Everything here is yours and seeing as you will be joining us shortly for Thanksgiving dinner, it would only make sense for you to know our home's layout," Nix smiled. "My son may be around here somewhere, just to give you a fair warning. She is always coming and going so I rarely know when they'll be home."

"Okay, thank you, sir. Um, which room is mine?" Dream barely managed to ask.

"Oh, yes. That is important. I don't have a spare bedroom prepped at the moment, so if you are alright with it, I will give you Technoblade's for the night. His is down the left hall, second door to the right. It also has a bathroom attached to it, so no need to wander around trying to find that."

"Thank you," Dream whispered, turning to look back down the hall. He saw Uncle Nix walk down the opposite hallway and he chewed on his lip nervously. What could possibly go wrong? Dream decided to think about that problem at the exact wrong time as a very tall, handsome person walked by.

"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know we had guests. My father didn't warn me," he smiled at Dream, stance firm and confident. "I'm Eret. Who might you be?"

"I'm Dream. Technoblade's boyfriend," he answered. "Are you his cousin?"

She grinned. "I am indeed! I haven't seen Technoblade in a few months. How is he? Is he with you tonight? I know that house sometimes has trouble during the colder months and so he crashes here."

"As far as I'm aware, the house is fine. I'm actually here because of a small incident, a lover's quarrel if you will. Technoblade has definitely been better. He got in a car crash about two weeks ago and it's just been very stressful for everyone. Plus what happened last night which is why I'm here now."

"Ah, I understand. I should visit him before Thanksgiving. I assume you are headed to his room for the night. Mind if I join you? I'd love to get to know you better. Techno is terrible at keeping us in the loop about his life. I can't blame him, to be fair. With his parents being the way they were, he's always been a bit more reclusive."

"Sure, you can join. I don't mind," Dream said as they walked down the hall together.

Eret held the door open for Dream and closed it behind them as Dream took in his new surroundings. The room was decorated fairly similar to the house Techno lived in, not counting the bed. The bed was encased in the most delicate pink and gold sheets and bedspread Dream had ever seen. Even the bed Technoblade slept in every night wasn't this well done up. Those sheets were a simple deep red, with the bedspread seeming to be possibly one of the most boring quilts Dream had ever seen.

"So this car accident. That seems to be the most important. What happened and why did he not tell us about it?" Eret asked, flopping into the bean bag nearby, losing all of his former formal posture.

If anything gave away Technoblade's relation to Eret, it had to be the deep voice. Their voice was nearly as deep as Techno's and it blew Dream away a little bit. There was no better way to describe it. Still in shock, Dream took in Eret's full figure, everything from his fluffy, and rather curly brown hair to the clothes he was dressed in. She truly was dressed as a work of art and it was stunning.

"The car accident happened during a snow storm. Someone was going far too fast, hit him from behind, and flipped the car about three times. He was lucky to make it out alive. After that, I first met your father Nix. He's Techno's emergency contact so they had called him. I wasn't aware of your family even existing until that point. And then last night happened. We were at what started as a small group of friends, turned into a party, for Techno and I got drunk," Dream's voice started to grow shameful. "I shouldn't have been drinking at all."

"Drinking was my first mistake. However, when we were ready to go, I took one of my friends upstairs to ask another for a ride. That friend kissed me and while I tried to stop it, I couldn't. Bad had to push George off of me and Techno saw. After that, well let's just say that everything has gone downhill faster than ever before."

Eret nodded slowly, considering what Dream had just said. "Hm… Well, I will speak with Technoblade about this. It sounds like a huge misunderstanding. But let's speak of something less depressing," she asked pulling out their phone. "What's your favorite ice cream?"

"I'm sorry, what?"

"Ice cream flavor, what's your favorite?" Eret decided to not elaborate further.

"Um, I guess cookies and cream. But why does that matter?" Dream had never felt more confused.

"Well because it's a bit hard to purchase your friends ice cream if you don't know their favorite kind. You've clearly had a rough two days and when I'm upset I always get ice cream. There's something about it. So I shall get you some and hopefully, it will help. Anywho, my father does request we don't eat in the bedroom, so follow me."

Eret led Dream out to the hallway, making a quick stop at what seemed to be his own room before taking them downstairs. The fireplace in the main living room was still roaring, and they walked by the front door, placing a sticky note there as she went.

"Eret and Dream's ice cream. Please bring it downstairs. Thank you, Max."

Dream didn't mention the fact that he wasn't aware of the actual basement the house had. The stairs gave off the same vibes as the rest of the home, but when he hit the landing, he was once again blown away. It was a huge open space with windows lining the wall in front of him and one even becoming a sliding glass door that led to the back patio and yard. It was very dark outside and the wind was blowing the snow around, but there was another wood-burning stove that looked recently used. He could see the hot coals wave through the glass pane and Eret kneeled down in front of it.

He stoked the fire quickly before dusting off their hands. "Welcome to my part of the house. There's a bathroom to the left of the stairs, but we most likely will spend most of the time over here," she led Dream further to the right, revealing a kitchenette that had almost everything, but a stove and a large living room with many couches and beanbags and one of the nicest TVs Dream had ever seen.

"This is all yours?"

"I mean, my father owns the house, and the guest bedroom over there is usually reserved for just that, guests. But he doesn't mind if I have friends or parties down here. Hence the reason for the kitchen and entertainment center. Now, ice cream should be here in about fifteen minutes. What do you like to play?"

Dream didn't answer as he was still blown away by what he had just learned. It wasn't until a controller was tossed his way did he come back to real life. He stumbled to catch the controller, staring at it until he met Eret's eyes again. The brunette held a small smirk, eyes amused.

"Minecraft?" Dream asked weakly, unable to think of any game besides that at this moment.

"Excellent choice. It's always telling, the type of person who enjoys Minecraft multiplayer. The new 1.18 update comes out at the end of next week and I cannot wait."

With that, Eret flopped onto the couch, sprawling out on it, starting the game console. Dream sat on the other end, putting his feet up as well. They started a new game, Max bringing down the ice cream and setting it on the kitchen counter. Before he left, Eret hollered out a thank you and continued to play. Despite it all being so unusual, Dream felt safe here. He felt welcomed and it felt so nice.

Together, they had beaten the End dragon within two and a half hours, even with stopping for an ice cream break. They bonded very well and Dream couldn't wait to hang out with Eret again, the two making plans for another Minecraft speedrun the following week. It felt a bit strange, hanging out with his boyfriend's cousin after having what Dream could only put into words as a disagreement. Eret shut off the console and tv, stretching to crack their back as he stood.

"Well Dream, it was very nice spending the night with you, but I'm afraid I do have a meeting in the morning. Two now, in fact. My cousin is insane to not even give you a chance. I hope I can change his mind. I hope you sleep well," the brunette smiled.

Dream nodded a smile on his face too. "Sleep does sound nice. Thank you, Eret. I enjoyed this."

The two headed upstairs, going into their respective rooms. Climbing into bed that night, Dream found himself feeling safer than he had in the last two days and he knew that the only thing that could make this any better was if he had Technoblade in his arms.

Hello, hello! I'm going on an anniversary trip with my fiance tomorrow and just decided to give you all the next chapter early. I also might have wrote the next three chapters in the matter of two days because inspiration struck! Well I hope you enjoyed this and I will see you next time!
