The next day did not go how Dream expected it to. He had been woken up by a knock on his door. He scrambled to his feet, opening the door to a very well-dressed Eret and instant embarrassment of how he looked. Eret didn't seem to mind as she flashed a friendly smile and relayed the message he had been sent to deliver.

"Good morning my friend! Breakfast is in twenty minutes. My father asked me to inform you," the smile didn't waver as Eret stepped forward and in a lowered voice, gave Dream a small warning. "My cousin will be joining us for breakfast as well. Father arranged it. I don't know how much time you have spent around Technoblade when my father is around, but may I advise dressing to impress."

Dream stared at them blankly. "I mean I can try, but I don't exactly have anything nice on me."

"Hm. That is understandable. I think we can fix that. Follow me," Eret turned on his heel's making their way down the hall to his bedroom quickly.

The blonde followed along, not even remembering to close the door as he went. Eret ushered him into the room and to the closet. Dream, still shocked by how nice the room looked, turned to Eret confused. Eret grinned at him, waving a hand towards the closet.

"Take your pick. We look to be the same size, so no need to stress about that too much."

Dream tried his best to not be completely overwhelmed by all of these options. The closet was riddled with corsets and dress shirts, jeans and skirts, and just about every other clothing option you could think of. Looking back at Eret, he noticed that she was wearing one of the more feminine corsets with a nice white shirt and black dress pants. Now knowing what not to look like as copying was never polite, he picked out a nice set of pants and a dashing black shirt. He held it up to Eret, who nodded in approval.

"Very nice. Excellent choice. The bathroom is right there. Change and I'll help you make any adjustments after that. By the way, what's your shoe size?" he asked, darting into the closet.

"A ten."

The sound of shoes hitting the wall and floor came from the closet before Eret emerged with a nice pair of oxfords. "These should fit nicely."

Dream took the shoes and disappeared into the bathroom and emerged dressed only a few minutes later. Eret eyed him up and down before walking back into the closet. This time they returned holding a green and gold corset vest. Dream gave it a confused glance.

"Are you sure?"

"A hundred percent."

The blonde allowed Eret to help him into the corset, very unnerved by the prospect of looking this nice. Eret laced the vest up, knowing it wasn't usual wear for Dream and being careful to not lace it too tightly. It brought together the look very well and Eret nodded in satisfaction before she turned a grin to Dream.

"I think you are ready for early Thanksgiving with my family. Now, let's get downstairs. We have about ten minutes, but it never hurts to be early."

The two rushed downstairs, Dream hesitating and looking out over the living room before heading down the stairs. From the dining room, he could hear Techno's deep, monotonous voice as clear as day. Eret turned a winked at him before rounding the banister and causing a small distraction for Dream.

"Technoblade! It's been such a long time, welcome home cousin. I hear you haven't been feeling well, mentally or physically."

Dream examined the room as he walked in. Eret and Nix stood behind their respective seats, Techno being the only one sitting due to his leg. That did not stop the pinkette from looking fabulous, however. He was a full suit and his hair was done up in such a way that you would have never guessed he was half bald. Those ruby eyes sparkled with anger as Eret spoke, but turned on Dream when the blonde entered and instantly softened.

"Eret I-" Techno's words failed him and Dream went to stand behind the chair next to Eret, feeling safest there.

Dream swallowed deeply but didn't say a word, hoping someone else would break this awful silence. Answering his prayer, Nix spoke up only a second later.

"Well, now that we are all here, we may sit, eat, and talk. Eret, will you please pass down the coffee."

"Of course father," he said and did as asked.

Dream and Technoblade had not looked away from each other, both stunned by the other's appearance. Eret held back a snicker, seeing their cousin be star-struck by Dream's small make-up. It did bring together the blonde's complexion and Eret could see the change in his stance. He sat taller in his seat, chin up and hands folded neatly. Whilst some of was surely nerves, Eret knew from experience that a good outfit could change a lot about how you held yourself.

"Dream, Technoblade I'm sure you both know why we are eating together this morning. We need to discuss whatever exactly went on between you two a few days ago. Dream, I must warn you, while you have my kindness due to you saving my nephew, he is, after all, my family. If you expect our kindness to continue, you best hope I find your story true."

"Yes sir," he said, surprising not only himself but everyone else when his voice did not waver. "I understand."

Eret rolled his eyes at her father's words. This was already going the wrong route, but as everyone served themselves, they caught Techno's gaze on them. She raised an eyebrow, sharing an unnoticed look with him from across the table. Technoblade's gaze read as a warning to him, a sign that if she was to try anything, she would regret it. Eret gaze gave the same warning before turning back to her father, whose words felt more boring and annoying than normal.

Technoblade had been rudely awoken by his uncle's butler Max. When he had received the news of a morning breakfast with Eret, Dream, and Uncle Nix, the annoyance he felt was massive. Breakfast with the Corbyn part of his family was almost as big of an ordeal as Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve dinner. The only difference was that the entire family wouldn't be there. So Techno drug himself out of bed and into the shower, dressing into one of his finest suits, the question of what Dream might wear lingering at the back of his mind.

Once ready, Max gave him a ride to his uncle's place, his anxiety levels simmering higher with every minute. Pulling into the driveway, the Corbyn house was as beautiful as always. Max helped him inside, where he saw Uncle Nix setting the table. A quick glance around told him either Eret was not around or would not be attending. Uncle Nix smiled at him, quickly pulling a chair out for him as he approached.

"Technoblade, I'm so glad you could make it. Eret is waking Dream up now. They shouldn't be more than twenty minutes now. Please, sit," Nix said.

Sitting before being given permission was a big no in this house, so Techno took this as a truly welcoming invite. The thought of facing Dream and Eret on the same day was nerve-racking, but he hoped that at least one would go well. He could overhear Eret's voice coming from upstairs and assumed what his uncle said was true.

"How has Eret been?" he asked, trying to make some small talk.

"Ah, they've been busy as always. He turned down another college this month. I'm losing hope that they'll ever be successful. If she hopes to take over the family business, she'll need to get her act together soon."

Nix's voice was bitter and Technoblade felt a smidge bit of pride at knowing he was the one who Nix saw as successful and not Eret. The two had long been competing. Nix finished setting the table and stood behind his chair, chatting with Technoblade until Eret until the room, their presence distracting Techno from the other figure who followed closely behind.

The distraction didn't last long as he met Dream's bright green eyes which went well with the all-black outfit besides the green and gold corset. While finding Dream attractive was something he had never once questioned, this confirmed any questions that might ever arise in the future. Dream was clearly in a similar mindset, not breaking eye contact with Techno as he operated on what could be described as an automatic mindset. Technoblade didn't dare mention it however as Dream didn't have the same nervous air about him.

No, this Dream sat tall and wore confidence well. Eret had a smug grin on her face as she saw them struck by cupid's arrow once more. Technoblade shot a glare at them only to have it quickly returned with the saw energy. Eret and him hadn't been around each other for almost a year. After what had happened last Christmas Eve it only made sense. Not many people were welcoming when you destroyed their hopes like Techno had done to Eret.

Being around Uncle Nix was terrible for him and Techno knew it. But the man had raised him as his own and provided everything for him to this day and his attitude was very, very contagious. How Eret kept it from affecting him was beyond the English major and he could only assume it was part of why Eret was also so "busy." It occurred to him that Uncle Nix was talking once more and he drug his thoughts back to the problem at hand.

Dream.
