Mejiis pov.
sniff sniff. Something smells delicios! I thought for myself as I slowly opened up my eyes, but quickly shut them again as the morning sun was too bright for my eyes at the moment. The air in the room carried a lovely smell of food and I laid there smelling it a bit more with a smile on my face. I turned my head to the side and opened them and realiced that I was in the livingroom. That's right, I slept here with Renji, I blushed at the thought that we had slept together. How embarresing! On the first night as well! I looked at the spot where he had laid, it was still warm so he hasn't been up very long, you could tell someone had been lain there, as that part of the sofa had sunken down a bit because of his weight. I heard foot steps coming closer, it was obviously Renji. I heard him stop when he was behind the side of the sofa where my head was, I tilted my head back and saw him smirking ''mornin' finally awake?'' he said crossing his arms, his hair was in a pony tail again and you could see the tattoos on his face clearer now ''mornin' yourself. You seem happy'' he scratched the back of his head and smiled ''haha it's nothing, come on, get up, I made breakfast'' I smiled and he started to walk back. I tried to get up when I realiced I couldn't, my body was paralyced! ''R-Renji, I can't move, help me'' I quickly said before he walked away, feeling a bit embarresed ''hm?'' he simply said and walked back ''you can't move?'' he scratched his cheek with a finger ''no, a lot of weight must have been on my arms for some time. What did you do to me?'' I said jokingly. He didn't answer ''so you can't move'' he repeated, a sinister look spread on his face and I got a bad feeling ''w-what are you thinking?'' he sat down next to me with the same look and started to tickle me. I still couldn't move so all I could do was kick around with my legs and tell him to stop in the middle of my laughter, he of course didn't and only stopped when I was panting. He looked at me as I was panting 'if he starts again i'll make him regret it when I can move!' I thought for myself. He layed down on top of me in a way. He was still sitting down but he was leaning over me as well. He smiled down at me. The light hit him in a sertain way and he looked so handsome right at that moment. '' hey Mejii '' he said while looking out through the window. ''hm?'' I replied. '' why did you come in here last night?'' I blushed when he asked me that ''s-sorry'' was all I could say. And looked away. '' you don't have to apologize, I was just curious'' he said quickly, I looked back at him ''I was really cold and I felt a little bit lonely '' I looked away from embaressment and I heard a small chuckle from him '' did it get warmer when you laid down here? Did you stop feeling lonely?'' he said and gently brushed some hair away that was in my face. ''you're enjoying this'' I said trying to get away from a topic that was about to become to embaressing. He schuckled ''I'm glad I could help'' he stood up '' alright come on, we have to eat breakfast and get ready if we want to make it to school in time'' he started to walk away. ''Hey! I still can't get up!'' he quickly turned back and lifted me up and carefully putted me down on the floor. I slowly got the feeling back in my arms and we went to the kitchen to eat breakfast.
No matter how much we hurried we had to run to school. We arrived just in time and quickly met up with momo and izuru before we were supposed to leave. ''late as usual Renji, please don't get Mejii into that behaviour as well '' Izuru said and sighed. Renji gave him an irritated look while me and Momo just giggled. ''Ahem'' someone cleared their throat loudly and got all of our attention. It was Shuuhei. ''Alright everyone, last time we were out, we practiced killing small hollows, today we're practicing on medium ones, so they're all bigger'' I could hear people whispering ''don't worry, it won't happen like it did last time. A lieutenant is in the area to make sure that everything is going according to plan so you can all feel safe!'' the whispers ended. 'what happend last time?' I thought for myself. ''Have you guys been to the world of the living before? '' I asked quietly to not interuppt Shuuheis speach about safety. They all nodded and seemed a bit tense, '' we went there to kill small hollows once '' '' ah I see, how did it go?'' they all looked a little uncomfortable all of a sudden, Momo looked down, Renji scratched his neck and Izuru turned to me slowly. '' an accident happend'' Izuru said wich made me stop listening to Shuuhei completely and only focus on Izuru. ''Accident?'' I asked, but feeling a bit too nervous to actually ask them. ''The three of us were in one group, the task was simple: use teamwork to defeat the hollows.'' Renji said. ''However out of nowhere giant hollows appeard and killed some of the students.. '' Izuru continiued and I froze '' Shuuhei's old teammates died and he was trying his best to protect the rest of us, but neither he or we were ready for giant hollows yet '' Renji said and tightened his fist. I looked at Momo who I noticed had pulled her arms close to her chest '' I was so afraid, I thought we were going to die'' She said and seemed to shiver a bit. I swallowed hard ''so how did you all get out of there?'' I carefully asked. '' We were rescued '' Momo said, and seemed to relax more. ''By who?'' I asked. She suddenly smiled and said ''By captain Aizen. He and captain Ichimaru saved us. I remember that night so well '' She said. She was smiling now. I continued listening. '' He came out from nowhere and made it look so easy, the way he killed the hollows, that's what made me want to join his team!'' Hhe said happily and smiled and giggled. ''huh'' I simply said, Izuru poked his head out and looked at me and said '' To be honest both me and Renji thought she would join captain Hitsugayas squad'' ''Oh how come?'' ''I didn't want to join Shiro-chans squad!'' She said a little bit childish, which made Izuru blush. ''Shiro-chan?'' I asked '' Momo and captain Hitsugaya were childhood friends, and she has always called him that, she became a student here before him, but because of his reiatsu, his skill and over-all knowledge, he was allowed to graduate sooner'' renji said , trying to explain what was going on here for me, which I was grateful for ''I don't want to be in his way'' she said and seemed very happy with that answer. Me, Izuru and Renji decided to drop it and we all continiued to listen to Shuuhei.
''you will all be in the groups you were in last time. Mejii, you're new so just join any team you want'' I looked at Momo, Izuru and Renji and smiled, they all smiled back. ''okay, everybody stay close, we need the hell butterfly to guide us through the senkaimon '' he said and everybody got close. The hell butterfly is a black butterfly which is used as a guide and a messenger apparently, but I didn't know that much about the senkaimon. '' Renji, what's a senkaimon?'' I asked quietly, he looked at me and scratched the back of his head ''it's a gateway between soul society and the world of the living, it's what we use to travel back and forth'' he said and the door opened, it was a very bright light and I swallowed hard as we all started to walk. Me, Momo, Izuru and Renji were walking at the back of the group. I was walking behind Renji when I suddenly felt how he pulled my sleeve so I was now walking in front of him instead of behind him. I gave him a look ''if I know you right, you'd run off to explore'' I quickly looked away in embaressment, it was to true.
It didn't take long before we had arrived at our location. It was on the rooftops of high buildings outside of a city. I looked around for a while and just felt how the wind felt so much smoother here, how much more plesent the sounds were and the atmosphere over all was much nicer and I felt very calm being in the world of the living. Momo noticed how I spaced out a little ''Mejii, pay close attention now, this is your first time after all'' I'm sure that she didn't doubt my strength and skills, I asume she only wanted me to listen to Shuuehi so that I didn't miss anything important. '' Alright listen up, unlike last time we have some rules set up. Rule 1. Everyone in the team must have killed at least 1medium hollow by the end of the day. It can be through teamwork or alone but everyone has to get the chance to kill one. 2. If your group is not able to kill it, team up with another group to become more and therefore make it easier. That's all. Everyone go to their teams chosen area and the medium hollows will appear soon. '' ''Um, excuse me Shuuhei-senpai. Which lieutenant is here?'' One of the girls asked carefully '' ''I was informed today that a captain came instead of a lieutenant. However I have not been informed of which captain. But don't worry, you're all safe!'' People started to whisper again. I don't care much about which captain is here, I'm just interested in killing these medium hollows. ''Mejii, are you coming?'' Izuru said, the others had started to walk to our area ''Ah right!'' I said and ran after them.
Renjis pov.
We had been killing hollows for a while now, everything was going smoothly and the teamwork our group had was unbealivibly good. I noticed though how Mejii often stopped and looked around and how her eyes always fell at the same spot, a building that was pretty far away. I didn't ask her why in the beginning, but after a while I decided to ask her ''what's wrong Mejii?'' she quickly turned her attention to me and smiled ''uh nothing!'' something was wrong, the look she had before was really serious, a sweat dropped had even rolled down her cheek ''hm.. what's so interesting over there?'' she looked back ''nothing of importance, the captain is there though'' she said and her expression went back to that serious one. It was hard to tell since the building was pretty far away, but I could see the white coat on top of the black shinigami cloathing. ''which captain is it?'' I asked, looking down at her. She was acting weird. ''who knows, not of importance though '' she said and walked over to Momo and Izuru. I waited and tried to see if I could tell which captain it was. The figure was very white, no pale, I couldn't really see more than that. I turned my head towards my team. She was talking to Izuru and Momo. Her blond hair moved as the wind blew and she was smiling from ear to ear. She seems so happy. So why was she so focused on the captain? I decided to let it go, it was probably not that important. I walked up to my group to join the conversation.
Mejii's POV.
Many hours later, me and Renji were on our way home. We had been killing medium hollows all day and it had all gone smoothly. The captain was not needed at all which made me glad. I had gotten bad feelings about that captain the whole day, and the fact that he or she wasn't needed made me breath out all the bad vibes. Renji gave me a weird look as I put my hand on my chest and took a deep breath before I slowly breathed out. ''what are you doing?'' he asked as he raised an eyebrow. ''I'm just relaxing my body a bit'' I said as I letted my hand fall down beside me. He shrugged before he turned his gaze back to whatever he was looking at. It was just him and me now as we were walking home. Shuuhei wanted to walk home with us but was called in for more work at the last minute, which was probably for the best. Renji still gets a bit annoyed when it's just the three of us. The sun stood low, which gave the sky a yellow and orange tone wich was very pretty. It was going to be dark soon. I turned my head to Renji. He had strains of hair on his face. some of it must've come loose from his ponytail during the fight. He seemed tired, he hasn't even noticed that he has some dirt on his cheek. I giggled quietly for myself, he heard me though and turned his head slightly my way. ''what?'' he said smiling a little, obviously interested in knowing what i'm giggling about. ''Are you tired Renji?'' I said while smiling. He looked a bit surprised at first, as if that was the reason I was giggling. He shrugged and answered the question ''yeah, why?'' I smiled ''well, I'm guessing you haven't noticed that piece of dirt on your cheek then'' I giggled. Renji raised his eyebrows and started to scratch on his cheeks. he kept missing it though and it was starting to look silly. ''Ah you keep missing! lean forward!'' he stopped ''huh?'' ''lean forward, I'll help you get it off!'' I said smiling. He blushed a little as he leaned forward. Renji is taller than me so he had to bend over quite a bit for me to reach. he stopped when his face was on he same hight as mine. that made me blush a little, it was weird to see his face from this angle and I did like it. I quickly put my hands gently on the sides of his face and turned his face gently to one side so that the dirt was easier to see. I started to rub it carefully. ''I feel like a tall child when you're doing this'' he said while blushing. ''oh, want me to stop?'' I said quickly, hoping I hadn't made him mad. ''n-no it's fine. just hurry up a bit, it's embaressing.'' I did as he said and we quickly walked home afterwards.
After dinner it was time to get ready for bed. Renji gave me once again one of his shirts to wear and I gladly accepted it. I putted it on and as usual it went down to my knees. I walked back to Renji who was in the livingroom, sitting on the couch. He smirked as he saw how his shirt fitted me. ''it's because you're too tall'' I said pouting. He chuckled and responded '' no, you're just short. '' He looked so satisfied with his reply. He leaned back on the couch, placing his hands behind his head, by doing so you could really see his toned arms. It made me blush a little and I tried to hide it. He was looking at the wall on the opposite side for some reason, I assumed he was lost in though and decided to sit down next to him. I walked over to him and sat down, swinging my legs up on the couch as well. we were both sitting at the couches' ends, the space in the middle did bother me a bit. I layed down so that my head was by the end I was at, and I started to gently and playfully kick Renji a little. He quickly snapped out of his little trance and grinned at me. ''you're very brave to dare to kick me'' I gave him a playfull smile ''especially for someone who is ticklish'' he said and slowly started to reach for my feet. I quickly pulled them back before he could grab them though. He started to laugh ''that's what I thought''. he said with a playfull smile on his face. His expression suddenly changed from happy to serious, it caught me off guard to be honest. '' So Mejii, what shall we do about sleep tonight?'' I knew he was hinting at the fact that we slept together last night. I was wondering that myself as well, but it was to embaressing for me to ask. ''What do you want me to say?'' I asked him as I scratched my eyes because of how tired I was. He gave me a tired smile, leaned forward and rested his head on his hand. He turned his head to me ''That's a silly question. Say what you want to say'' I looked at him. ''What is your opinion?'' He quickly raised a finger '' Ah ah ah. I asked you first! '' I huffed and sat up. ''It was nice, I liked it. I was able to sleep. And if possible we could continiue doing it'' I was blushing as I finished my sentence. I looked at Renji who was blushing a bit but still had that tired smile on which he had before. ''Well then. Let's keep on doing that'' We both smiled at each other.
That night we went to bed together and I slept so well that night. Renji was warm and held me close and that was all I needed really. He also told me that he hadn't slept that good ever and that's the reason for why he was holding me close. I liked the thought that he was my security blanket and I was his. So that's what we kept on doing and it felt so good to be with him.
