Sebastian struggled not to shiver with excitement as he carried Ciel to her bedroom and opened the door with her still clutched in his arms.

He noticed that the bluenette's bedchamber was just as large and damask as the rest of the Phantomhive manor.

For a brief, fleeting moment, Sebastian imagined that they could just seal the door shut and use that room as their own forever, with the rest of the world kept out.

Ciel's voice interrupted his dreamy thoughts as she whispered a quiet admittance, "...Tanaka never readied me for bed."

Sebastian chuckled quietly while he stood there, in her private room, with her nestled in his arms, "Well, my lady, with all due respect, as your new butler, I hope that you and I can develop a very…. close….relationship."

Ciel pouted at Sebastian while he smiled at her and asked, "I eagerly await your instructions as to how I may serve you now, Lady Phantomhive~."

"I usually have a bath." Ciel explained, "Then Mey-Rin helps me into my nightshirt and I lie down. If I'm unable to sleep, she'll bring me a glass of warm milk and honey."

"Ah~." Sebastian replied, "A simple routine for such a noble lady. Shall we get started then?"

Ciel nodded at Sebastian trustingly.

He carried her over to her bed and sat her down on top of the covers before he turned and walked into the lavatory that was luxuriously attached to her room.

s Ciel heard the water began to run into the bathtub, she shifted on her mattress as she wondered about-

Before her mind could go over very many scenarios, Sebastian had already left the bathroom and walked back towards her.

He stopped a short distance from Ciel and reached out a hand as he offered, "The water is pleasantly warm, my lady. If you'll allow me, I'll assist you with your bath now~."

Ciel stood up and slowly accepted his hand.

Sweetly, Sebastian led Ciel into her bathroom before his nimble fingers undressed her.

A slight smirk graced his lips as he laid her clothes to the side.

He intended to send the garments off to the laundry once he had the chance, but he had other concerns to tend first.

Ciel stood in front of Sebastian, completely bare and exposed with not even the sheets of a bed to cover her or hide her figure from his view.

Sebastian's amber eyes glinted as a crimson blush crept over Ciel's pale cheeks while they gazed at each other for a tense moment.

Few words passed between them as Sebastian guided Ciel into the tub and very carefully began to wash her.

Lady Phantomhive remembered how skillfully soothing Mr. Michaelis's touch had been during the night they had spent together, perhaps that was why she remained unsurprised that her bath proved to be more than pleasant.

Sebastian's hands never faltered or trembled while he washed his lady from head to toe, although he did notice her sigh of suppressed delight and the adorable way that she bit her lip when his smooth fingertips glided over something lovely between her legs.

Sebastian chose not to linger on that though, hoping to prove himself as capable to his new mistress.

Once Sebastian completed Ciel's bath, he helped her out of the tub, gently dried her body, and after she told him where to find one, retrieved a clean night shirt for her.

Sebastian pulled the cotton garment over her head, then he towel-dried and combed her fluffy, unique strands of hair.

He scooped her back into his arms once more, carried her out of the bathroom, and took her to bed.

Ciel looked at Sebastian with a frown as he pulled the covers up to her chest.

His amber gaze migrated to her face before he frowned back and asked, "Is something wrong, my lady?"

"I can't sleep." Ciel complained as her pink lips formed a pout.

"I am deeply sorry, my lady." Sebastian replied honestly, "Shall I go and fetch some warm milk and honey?"

"Stay with me." Ciel commanded as she closed her eyes.

"...Of course, my lady," Sebastian nodded.

Not wanting to disturb Ciel's rest, he sat down in a chair at her bedside and folded his hands in his lap.

Lady Phantomhive's eyes snapped wide open as she sat up in bed with an ominous scowl on her fair face.

Sebastian blinked at her as she demanded of him in exasperation, "What did I just ask you?!"

"To stay with you, my lady." Sebastian nodded, "Am I not by your side? I tried to sit down quietly."

Ciel threw the covers off of herself and stood from her bed.

Sebastian watched her pad over to him, grab him by the wrist, and then pull him down into the sheets with her.

Sebastian hurriedly slipped off his shoes and coat as Ciel closed her eyes again with an annoyed frown and cuddled against him.

"My lady," Sebastian began once he realized that she intended for him to sleep there, "I have a list of many things that I need to accomplish this evening so that I may be prepared for the new day's-"

"-tomorrow." Ciel said flatly as she interrupted in a firm tone.

Sebastian laughed, a deep, rumbling, low echo in his chest as he went on, "My lady, if I do not see to those tasks, I won't be ready for-"

"-I'm sure you can find a way to make up the time." Ciel said as she yawned and laid her head so that her ear was flat against his chest, "You said it yourself…...Sebastian…...I'm supposed to be your top priority now, remember? No item on your schedule is as important as the quality of your lady's rest."

Sebastian grinned at his new charge's startling arrogance.

"Of course, my lady." Sebastian replied with a deep purr, "I do hope that you have the most pleasant dreams~."

Sebastian's sentiment was not needed by Ciel.

The calming, steady beat of his heart lulled her into a deep sleep, the heaviness of which Ciel hadn't experienced since childhood.

…….Or since that night that she had spent tangled up in Sebastian's strong arms…….

————————————————————

Sebastian's first week at Phantomhive manor passed by successfully.

Elizabeth pouted that the interesting newcomer in her home hadn't yet been able to attend one of her tea parties, but between looking after Ciel and mentoring the bumbling servants on how to run the household more efficiently, Sebastian had very little free time.

It amazed Ciel, how seamlessly Mr. Michaelis transitioned to life at the manor and how truthful he had been with her during his interview.

Sebastian was wonderfully talented, indeed.

It seemed as though there was no meal he could not prepare, no chore he could not complete, no intelligent conversation to which he couldn't offer a witty and reflective opinion.

Although Ciel wore a nearly constant scowl, she was fascinated by Sebastian, even more so than she had been when she had met the handsome alpha in the gentleman shop.

More so than Ciel had ever been by any man, alpha or not……

As Sebastian had hoped, his mistress's wishes for a nighttime companion were not solely borne out of an innocent loneliness.

During most evenings, Ciel only did want a cuddle partner, but in the mornings…….Sebastian often woke up aching and aroused after a night spent holding the temptingly sweet omega in his arms and it was during those mornings that she came to him.

Gentle, loving kisses at first, the kind of kisses that were given secretly between two forbidden lovers. Kisses of that nature were always the beginning of their exchanges, then before Sebastian knew what his little minx had done, his hands were on her breasts as she coaxed him to squeeze and knead her soft mounds.

A half hour later and just as the sun rose outside, Sebastian and Ciel would lay locked together, entwined in a sweating, heaving heap while they tried to relax and compose themselves to carry on for the rest of the day as if nothing had happened.

Sometimes, during those mornings, Ciel would whisper her thoughts….her hopes…. her dreams…. and her fears to Sebastian.

He would stroke her hair gently while he listened.

He did listen, not in a casual way of politeness, but with genuine interest.

Sebastian listened and he remembered.

Sometimes, during those mornings, Ciel clung to him as if he were her last hope in the world.

One particular morning though, Ciel laid on top of her handsome butler and contemplated asking him for a second round when she heard a very disturbing noise faintly from outside as something rattled up the driveway……

Sebastian and Ciel looked at each other incredulously until she leapt from the bed and worriedly peered out of the window, careful to cover herself with a blanket in case Finny had already started working for the day.

"...Oh dear!" Ciel exclaimed as she frowned at what she saw outside.

"What is it?!" Sebastian asked hurriedly. He narrowed his eyes as he pressed, "My lady, what's the matter?"

Sebastian's body tensed.

His alpha instincts screamed at him to rise to the occasion and protect Ciel from whatever peril approached.

Sebastian would do anything, go to any lengths for…….

"It's my husband." Ciel said with a deep frown as she watched Edward's carriage slowly pull down the driveway, "My husband's come for a visit."
