The siege had begun. The soldiers on top of the walls fought as hard as they could, cleaving through the archers once they got into melee range with them. Chopping off limbs, thrusting their weapons or carving through their torso's somewhat, leaving large gashes in their bodies, draining their strength as they were left to bleed out. From the rear of the archers come Gyuki's large hand that reaches them like they were a snack on a table. They could only scream and beg for their life as they were grabbed. Only for them to be devoured by the demon as he uses his club to continue battering at the gates. The bar on the gate continues to slowly bend and splinter slightly with more and more creaking could be heard. As more and more soldiers climb up the wall they spotted the duel between Dodomeki and Luna and fled the other way to descent from the walls to the ground floor. All the while narrowly avoiding arrows that were fired upon them.
Luna swung her sword elegantly and with precision as she stopped as soon as it would cleave Dodomeki however Dodomeki expertly managed to dodge and sidestep all of the strikes. He found an opening as he jabbed her with his left arm aiming for her face, Luna deflected the strike by using her sword hand to push the punch away from her face before horizontally swinging at his neck as she twisted her wrist for the sword to find its mark. Dodomeki quickly used his front foot to kick her in the stomach, kicking her away in time, narrowly avoiding the edge of the blade. She snarled before she lunged back up to Dodomeki with a frighteningly quick pace. However Dodomeki blocked the powerful strike with both of his gauntlets in a cross formation. They stared at each other in the deadlock as the other tried to overpower the other. Luna smirked before she used her left foot to sweep Dodomeki off his feet and immediately turned her sword to try and stab him as he was falling. Dodomeki widened his eye before using his right hand to push himself away in time. The blade penetrated the wall as Dodomeki landed on all fours before he stood up. Luna raised her blade as she revealed the tip of the blade is stained with black blood. Dodomeki looked down to see the left side of his stomach was cut slightly, with his blood slowly dripping down.
Luna wore a lopsided smirk, believing she had gotten an upper hand. Seeing this Dodomeki immediately charged forward and extended his arms towards Luna, surprising her. She didn't see him use this before. He wasn't able to stretch as far as Mitsuko could with her serpents but it was enough to give him a reach advantage for most opponents. Luna using her sword deflected the attacks from two of the arms who attacks one after the other. Giving Dodomeki a blind opening as he lunged towards her which Luna didn't realise he was in front of her before he headbutted her using her helmet in her face. She reeled her head and staggered backwards giving Dodomeki a opening for another strike aimed at her ribcage. He performed a roundhouse kick as he charged in, kicking her hard enough to knock her against the embrasures. As she made impact against them golden blood escaped from her mouth as she gasped in pain. She spluttered more blood as Dodomeki loomed over her, he was ready to strike her down however she smirked as smoke started to escape from her body. Dodomeki immediately realised what happened and ducked, avoiding the blade by Luna who appeared behind her. Dodomeki twisted his body and performed another roundhouse kick to her face. She started to roll along the wall for a few seconds before she managed to land on her feet and plant her sword down to stop her momentum.
She looked at him right in the golden eye and saw him taunt her. She growled quietly to herself as she felt her golden blood run down her face where she was struck. This demon…this cyclops was something else entirely. First time she fought him he piqued her interest but now this is something else. It was almost like it was a different demon entirely. The first time she was able to get the upper hand despite the help she received then, now though he was able to go toe to toe with her. He made her bleed! Just who is this demon? This shouldn't be happening, yet it is. Yet…despite everything…she felt ecstatic! She realised this is what she wanted, something different, something new, something exciting for a change! Just as she was thinking about this the gate was clobbered as burst open. Unleashing the Mitsuko's legion upon the garrison. The ballista's fired upon Gyuki as he was the biggest target. He swung one of the large javelins away with his club but another one hit him in the right side of his chest, forcing him to stagger back a bit. They started to celebrate thinking they got him, however Gyuki roared as he pulled it out with ease and pulled it out. Black blood escaping the wound as he raised his club high before plummeting it on the ground, creating a gust of wind powerful enough to blow the siege engines straight down the middle street that led to the gate. The soldiers were flown away as they screamed.
As soon as the soldiers of both Mitsuko and Zheng Jiang breached the gate they were quickly pincered by two platoons of the defenders armed with spears and swords. However the soldiers expected this and pushed back against the defenders. The archers on the ground had to retreat further and try to fire on the enemy lines. Soldiers with large round shields were the first to enter through the breach and entered the front lines to the left and right of the gate. Blocking the initial charge from both platoons. Arrows were fired upon them however due to the garrison militia receiving little training they were inaccurate with only a few managing to hit their marks, along with a couple of arrows hitting their allied behind the neck, surprising them for a quick instant as before they fell they were thrusted with spear in the gut before being kicked away like trash. Gyuki charged in the middle street as the frontlines were busy starting to get back up. They shrieked as they frontlines saw a large club coming down upon them like the wrath of a god. Flattening them in an instant, staining the bottom of his club with blood. Behind him soldiers led by Diamondback sprinted towards the enemy. Luna witnessed all this, she witnessed all the death as her so called allies were killed all around her. Sometimes quickly sometimes not so much, swords clashed with each other only for one to soon be drenched in blood. Speared thrusted into the faces of their enemy killing them instantly. Organs being punctured and extracted. The front of the gate inside the settlement started to form a puddle of blood.
Reinforcements started to arrive in the middle street armed with shields and spears, warding Gyuki off with their long spears which did make him hesitate as enough of those wounds could damage him. However before Diamondback started to charge in. He leapt up in the air and threw his halberd at the frontline. Completely penetrating the bronze shield and through the body. The halberd was planted in the ground, covered in blood. His allies looked upon the newly made corpse with widened eyes and frightened expressions as they saw the lizard sprint forward with more demonic entities behind him, eager to shed blood. A couple thrusted their spears towards Diamondbacks face only for him to bend his neck to one side and chomped on the polearm behind the tips, tearing them off and spitting them out to the ground. Screams could be heard as Diamond back took a couple of steps and grabbed one of the shields and tore it away from the soldiers hands as he pounced on the soldier and bit into the front of his face, tearing it off and devouring it.
The soldiers behind try to thrust their spears into him however Gyuki quickly grabs the tips of them and lifted them up in the air. They instinctively held on to their spears only to realise their mistake too late as they were lifted in the air above Gyuki's mouth as he widened it. They held on as much as they could before their strength failed them as they fell into the abyss. Gyuki closed the mouth, enveloping one whole and the other dangled out of his mouth as his teeth completely penetrated his flesh. Blood filled his mouth before he reeled his head back and opened his mouth, forcing the dangling torso to be enveloped and eventually swallowed. The frontlines of Mitsuko's demonic force crashed against the shield wall. The front shields were overwhelmed as soldiers crashed, they fell on their back, giving them perfect opportunity to hack into them with their axes and swords.
Diamondback went back into the fray as he extracted his halberd from the corpse and swung it downwards, crashing into an enemy's shoulder, the spikes making it easier to penetrate and rip the flesh. He pulled it outwards causing large amounts of pain as the body fell forwards. Diamondback stomped on his head like it was nothing climbing over the dead to get to his prey. One militia soldier thrusted their spear aiming into his chest, however Diamondback grabbed it with his free hand as he held his shield with the outer part of his hand. He threw the soldier holding onto the spear to the back of him. Mitsuko's demonic soldiers separated themselves from the spot to make him land before one grabbed him and slammed his head into the ground face first, creating a bloody pulp and crushing his skull. The spikes of the halberd punctured the shield arm of another enemy as he screamed in agony, letting go of the shield forcing him to crash to his knees. Diamondback quickly plunged his halberd into the chest with such force bones and muscle burst outwards from his back. He quickly extracted the halberd and swung it at an oncoming enemy coming towards him. The spikes penetrated the left side of the head before it crashed into the wall next to him. Crushing the skull and splattering the clean wall with fresh blood and brain matter.
Luna couldn't do anything to stop this onslaught, everything that Zhang Yan and Jinhza did wasn't enough to stop this onslaught, their offensive failed. Their defence had failed to stop Mitsuko's army despite how small it was. Despite everything Luna couldn't help herself but laugh. She laughed out loud making Dodomeki curious. This wasn't the time for her to laugh, she's losing, her garrison is getting decimated and yet…she's laughing. Has she lost it?
'Hahaha! This is great! This is what I wanted all along! Something interesting to happen. Do you have any idea what its like to be perfect all the time and do the same thing every damn cycle? All this time it was so goddamn boring! And yet here we are. You on the brink of death making me bleed, your human allies allying with you willingly. Your serpent being something new entirely! It is so exciting to me! This is what I was missing, the thrill of being surprised and battle with an opponent worthy enough to make me angry. Oh yes! Is this what its like for you demon? Because it feels so good! I feel like for the first time I feel so…free!' Luna cried out with glee, Dodomeki wasn't sure if this was a ruse or not. However suddenly he saw Luna's sword start to amalgamate as she laughed more maniacally. The chain from Luna's sword shattered into many links before it seemed to melt and move towards the tip of Luna's sword. It formed what seemed to be a circular shape above it as some of the new material went down the shaft of the blade and morphed that as well. Dodomeki never saw anything like this, but he was sure this was a bad thing. The morphing eventually started to slow down and started to take a more defined shape. The base of the shape was a sphere with the shaft of the blade being thicker, more like a handle than a blade. At the ends of the sphere at designated parts, spikes started to form outside it before it stopped. The blade morphed into a morning star.
With a newfound sense of bloodlust in her eyes Dodomeki blinked for a split second and she was right in front of him, smiling gleefully as she swings her mace downwards. He narrowly avoids the attack, stepping back in time. The swing of the Morningstar made a small crater in the wall as it swung down. Luna immediately looked up and sprinted towards him, swinging the Morningstar even faster than her former blade, this time swinging horizontally. The speed of the swing and Luna's sprinting caught Dodomeki off guard as she swings the Morningstar on the side of his helmet, knocking him off the wall. The spikes dented the helmet as Dodomeki was flown off, all he could do while flying was spot Luna on the wall performing a sadistic smile as she leapt off without saying a word, throwing caution to the wind as she motions to swing her Morningstar down towards Dodomeki.
'Shit' Dodomeki had to think fast, Luna's heavy mace was making her fall faster than himself, even if he was knocked off first. He knew he head to time this carefully. He didn't want to get himself crushed due to awful timing. As Luna loomed closer, time seemed to flow slower for Dodomeki as they both fell and got closer to the ground. Luna looms more over him as she started her swing in mid-air. Dodomeki let the mace get closer to his body before as he glanced back to see a block of buildings untouched. He quickly reclined his right leg towards him and placed his right leg on the mace as it hits the right position and pushed himself from it. Gaining enough momentum to barely land on the roof of the block of buildings as tiles were scraped off as he slid across them. Luna's Morningstar made contact with the ground so hard that a small dust cloud formed around her. Dodomeki after catching his breath and stood up and looked at the dust cloud wondering what the hell happened to Luna. One minute she was standard for a mystic and then all of a sudden she just unleashed something. Dodomeki never saw anything like this before from a mystic.
'Is this something all mystics could do? Do they lock up strength like that on purpose? No that wouldn't make any sense, we would've known this before now…and yet I can't shake this feeling of familiarity of the situation…its almost like-'
'Lady Luna are you ok?' Dodomeki heard a voice down below, he looked around to see fighting on the right near the entrance with one of the platoons engaging and on the left he saw archers raining fire upon them. One of the archers went towards Luna, worried for their allies wellbeing especially considering she was probably one of the few competent soldiers they have. However as he got close Dodomeki was stunned as she saw the morning aim for the soldiers face, decapitating him with enough momentum that the head his the wall. The swing blew away the dust cloud to reveal Luna. Luna's eyes had rotated 90 degrees. Her pupils became slit shaped and abyss black. Her front teeth morphed into thin metallic almost stalactite shape with the bottom row and the top interlocking with each other so when the jaw is shut you cannot see half of the front of her face from the eyes down. Her once clean teal attire was stained with human blood as the archers body spurts it out like a fountain before hitting the ground. The right arm of Luna carrying the Morningstar started to turn into a sickly green colour slowly making its way to the rest of the body like a visible infection.
Luna roared a demonic roar gathering the attention of the rear guard of the platoon behind her who when looked back were terrified. Luna lunged into the archers and began to wrack havoc as they screamed. The morning clashed against their bodies time and time again. She swung her Morningstar down, crushing a mans skull as it hits the ground, flattening it with its brain turned to mush. The archers tried to pull their swords out and fight back but it was futile. Luna was too strong for them to overcome. Even surrounded Luna wreaked chaos. She swung her Morningstar upwards, decapitating another soldier. One tries to slash her from behind however she swings horizontally, catching the sword in the process and shattering it before his eyes a second before the Morningstar penetrated the victims face and caused him to fly to the side. Knocking down various other soldiers in the process as they try to catch him. She thrusted her Morningstar at another archer's face who couldn't block or dodge the attack, smashing it against the wall of the block of buildings before swinging the mace down to the side. Shattering the ribcage of a former ally as he crashed down to his knees before Luna grabbed him by the shoulder and swung down her mace downwards into his face. The momentum caused the human back to completely bend as if it was paper, obliterating the skull. The spine not righting itself in the slightest. Even with the assistance of the rear guard of Zhang Yans forcing coming to help, Luna could not be stopped. As one thrusted a spear towards Luna she moved and grabbed the back of the head of the soldier and slammed him into the wall and ran while holding the soldier to the wall, leaving a streak of blood with some teeth and other unsavoury chunks left before she threw the body quite far away, revealing the face just wiped off like it was sanded down. A sword was thrusted into her side, the soldier looked pleased with himself momentarily before Luna looked unfazed by the attack and looked toward him with malice. His expression went from happy to terrified in an instant as she roared and opened her mouth wide enough for the now metallic teeth to grab a hold of his face as she leant forward towards him, grabbing him by his face. He screamed into her mouth for an instant before Luna shut it, cleanly taking a straight bite of his face, leaving half of his face revealed and the insides of it including half a tongue, back row of teeth and half of his brain. Luna continued her slaughter not caring about friend or foe in the slightest while laughing with such joy. She just wanted to cause as much death as she can leaving Dodomeki alone up there, confirming his suspicions now at this new form of hers. Unsure if he should be frightened or impressed.
