Dragon Warriors

in Vault's Story

It is late at night in East Liverpool, where a building is on fire. And the firefighters are doing everything they can to put it out, then the Dragon Warriors flew by, and began dousing the flames.

"Good work guys, just a few hot spots left," said Connor as he landed.

"Wait," said Grave as he landed. "where's Vault?" he asked.

"I'm right here." They turned and saw Vault, carrying a bag of weapons. "That beast will pay for this!" he said.

"Vault, what happened?" Grave questioned.

"What's it look like! A dragon set that building on fire." Vault answered, but it also confused the Auxilary Riders. "You push me too far this time, you ugly bag of bones!" he yelled.

"Grave, what's he talking about? Our dragons don't do that anymore." asked Connor.

"No, he doesn't mean one of ours," he said. "Vault, for the last time, there is no such thing as a-"

"Boneknapper?"

And because of what Vault said, the Warriors groaned in annoyance.

"A what-knapper?" Neon Lights asked.

"A disgusting, foul beast, wearing a coat of stolen bones, like a giant flying skeleton." Vault explained.

"Yeah. The Book of Dragons says that the Boneknapper will stop at nothing to find the perfect bone to build its coat of armor. It's awesome." said Royal Pin.

"Come on! It's a myth. Heh, heh. It doesn't even exist." said Grave.

"I'm telling you, it's real." he said. "I've been running from him my whole life. He's the one who started this fire."

"Grave." Beardsley came holding a pair of burnt underwear. "I found Vault's underwear hanging by the stove. They must've started the fire." he said, and everyone laughed.

"You still think it's the Boneknapper or just your underwear!" Grave giggled.

"I don't think! I know! Somehow he found me again, this dragon is pure evil." said Vault.

"Vault, it's late and we're too tired for your stories. Now get some rest," he said.

"You rest. I'm putting an end to this."

Then Vault left to find the Boneknapper and end his torment. But Connor won't allow it.

"I can't let him go by himself," Connor sighed. "Alright, Warriors, grab your swords." he said. And the others smirked.

"There's no way I'm getting on a boat to go after a fake dragon," said Luu Luu.

The next morning, the Warriors, including Luu Luu are on a boat.

"How fun is this right? We're on a boat on another adventure," said Connor "this is pretty cool, huh?" he said.

"Yep, nothing cooler than feeling sick." said Claudia, as she's leaning on the side.

"I just want you guys to know that it touches my heart, you helping me slay the Boneknapper," said Vault as he steered the boat. "True knights, you are," he said.

"Vault, are we there yet?" Prim asked.

"Oh, you'll know we're close when your ears explode from the piercing screams." Kaguya said. "Legend says this dragon's roar is so fierce, it can melt the flesh right off your bones," she said.

"Not so, Kaguya." Vault objected. "The Boneknapper has no roar at all. That's why he's terrifying. He's a silent killer." he said.

"Wait. So if we don't hear anything, we're dead?" said Alicia.

Then everyone thought they can hear something, but there was nothing.

"I don't hear anything," said Luu Luu.

"Boo!" Everyone screamed and spotted Maia grinning, where Vault laughed.

"Good one, Maia." Vault giggled. "Did I ever tell you about the first time I met the dreaded Boneknaper?" he began.

Flashback:

A few years ago in Eostia, somewhere in the forest where Vault and his grandparents are sailing in a river.

"I was a young boy, on summer vacation with my grandparents, when I heard the call of nature." Vault said. When Young Vault didn't hear the call of nature, but felt it.

"Gramps, pull the boat over!" Young Vault said, and he jumped off the boat and went to the forest to get some privacy.

"Didn't I tell you to go before we left?" his grandpa said.

After he finished his restroom break, he walked back to the boat. But suddenly, he saw something shocking.

Young Vault spotted knights, frozen in a glacier.

"I saw an army of knights, frozen in battle! Clutched in the fingers of one of the knights was a small treasure chest. I had to have it." he said.

Then Young Vault swings his ax and broke the ice, and he got the chest.

"I reached in and pulled out the chest."

He opened the chest, and saw something amazing.

"It was the most beautiful thing I ever saw."

But Vault screamed, as a frozen knight grabbed his arm, and uses it to punch Vault. Which explains how Vault got his scar.

"But the frozen knight was alive! He started punching me in the face!"

"Oh! My eye!" Young Vault cried. Then the frozen knight began pointing at the sky, like he's trying to warn the boy.

Young Vault was confused, until he looked up in shock.

"And there it was. I never heard it coming. The Boneknapper!"

The Boneknaper flew down and tried to catch Young Vault, but he ducked and ran. Which causes the Boneknapper to crash into the glacier, which started an avalanche.

"It crashed into the glacier, causing an avalanche of frozen knights!"

Young Vault tried to run away from the Boneknapper and the avalanche, the dragon tried to catch him but he avoided its talons, where Young Vault tripped on a rock which causes him to drop the chest. It bounced all the way to the river.

"The treasure!" yelled Young Vault.

He went to the river and with quick thinking, he got the chest.

'I reached into the water-" But only for Young Vault to feel something grabbing his arm, and he screamed again. Where the frozen knight began punching Vault with the chest. "only to find the frozen knight punching me in the face again!"

Then the Boneknapper launched him in the air, but he caught the treasure, only for the Boneknapper to grab it.

"The Boneknapper wanted that treasure, but I wanted it more!"

Young Vault yanked the chest out of the Boneknapper's grip and he went through the trees, but not the Boneknaper. Then Young Vault landed safely back on his grandparents' boat.

"What took you so long?" his grandpa asked.

"Uh-" Young Vault couldn't find the words, instead he hid the treasure from them, and he laughed nervously.

Flashback end:

Vault laughed at his story, where he thought it was funny.

"You expect us to believe that a frozen knight punched you in the face?" Alicia spoked.

"Yeah, twice." said Vault.

"Hey, it could happen," said Connor.

"What do you think 'It could happen?' It did!" he said. "But I outsmarted the silent beast."

"Uh, Vault, I hate to be a stickler for details. But Boneknappers are not silent," said Kaguya.

"Kaguya. I know what I didn't hear. But I could feel it-"

As Vault was raging on, Prim noticed some rocks.

"Um, guys?"

"I can smell, the upcoming doom." Then they hit something, which causes the Warriors to fall down.

"Well that was rocky," said Luu Luu.

"We're here." said Vault.

The Warriors made it to land, just before the boat sank.

"Now, we're stuck in the middle of somewhere in Ohio, and no one even knows where we are." Maia groaned.

"Except the Boneknapper." said Kaguya. "Legend says-"

"Hey, you know what legend also says?" Stop talking!" said Grave.

"OK, just hold on, one darn second," she said.

"No need to panic guys, I"ve been shipwrecked many times," said Vault as he sat down.

"Oh. Well, that's comforting," said Connor.

"You never forget your first shipwreck." he sighed.

Flashback:

On an island, Vault as a teenager is stranded on, where he took out his wooden sword. Which causes him to groan.

"I was stranded on an island, with only my wooden sword. It was a very small island. It's no wonder the Boneknapper found me again."

Young Vault looked around and saw the Boneknapper, it tried to grab him, but Young Vault ducked. And was shocked that the Boneknapper tore off a tree.

"He never forgave me for taking that treasure."

Then he spotted another island, much to Young Vault's excitement.

"There was another island, my only escape. But I was surrounded by, bloodthirsty sharks!"

But an army of sharks came, where Young Vault had two options: face the Boneknapper or fight the sharks.

"I only had one chance." And he jumped on the sharks and fighting them. "So I ran across the shark-infested water."

He dodged them and avoided them to get to the island. Where an army of sharks is no match for him.

"You need to brush!" said Young Vault, but the Boneknapper is right on his trail.

"I didn't think I was gonna make it. But then, from the depths of the ocean, leapt forth-"

Young Vault jumped to reach the island, and the Boneknapper was about to catch him.

Then suddenly, a water spirit rose up, wearing knights armor.

"a water knight!"

Flashback end:

"And the water knight ate the Boneknapper?" said Prim.

"Almost, but he got away." said Vault. "Years later, the dragon hunted me down again and chased me into the jungle," he explained.

Flashback:

In the jungle, Vault as a young man, who was a bounty hunter running from the Boneknapper.

"All I had was my trusty sword." Then Young Vault took out his first sword, and began cutting down the bamboos. "I carved through that thick brush as fast as a tiger."

Young Vault kept cutting down the bamboo. But the Boneknapper was in pursuit.

"Still, the Boneknapper was right behind!"

Young Vault kept cutting bamboos, but he stopped and picked up a nearby flower.

"Ooh! Azaleas!" he said and he sniffed it. Then he continued to run.

He kept running from the Boneknapper, that he ran to a volcano.

"I ran up the side of a volcano, and courageously leapt across the fiery crater."

Young Vault leapt across the lava to escape, but the Boneknapper isn't giving up.

"Then, deep within the burning volcano burst forth-"

Then suddenly, a lava spirit came out, also wearing knights armor.

"a lava knight!"

Flashback end:

"OK, wait a minute." said Grave. "Now you're saying a lava knight leapt out of a fiery volcano and ate the Boneknapper?" he said.

"Ha! You would've thought so, wouldn't you?" said Vault. "But the dragon got away again! I knew that boney scoundrel would keep coming after me," he said.

Flashback:

In a snowy forest, Vault, before he formed the Black Dogs, sets up dragon traps and a giant metal ball hanging on a tree.

"So I set up a gauntlet of traps and waited for the beast."

Then Vault waited for the Boneknaper to come.

"And when he was ready-" The Boneknapper appeared and ran towards him, and Vault smirked. "he charged!"

Then Vault ran, leading him to the traps. But the dragon traps didn't catch the Boneknapper, and the metal ball didn't work either.

"And then I ran like the wind! But the traps failed!"

Vault was horrified and he almost went down a cliff. Then the Boneknapper finally caught him.

"Then, captured, I did what any brave man would do-"

"Help!" Vault cried.

"The Lords must have heard my prayer." Then out of the clouds, is a warrior. "It was a warrior!"

Which causes Vault to look at him in amazement.

"He tossed a might thunderbolt." The warriors threw a thunderbolt, but it didn't hit the Boneknapper. Instead, it hit the ground.

"Oh! You missed!" yelled Vault.

"Wait for it." said the warrior.

Vault looked down, where the ground began to rumble.

"Then from the center of the earth, blasted forth-"

Then out of the ground are the water knight and the lava knight.

"the lava knight, riding the water knight!"

"Deploy the knight!" said the lava knight.

Water knight launched lava knight onto the cliff, and he is now facing the Boneknapper.

Lava knight gave the dragon a good pounding. Then water knight dived down and ate the Boneknapper.

Vault looked down, and the two spirits waved farewell to Vault, which he waved back.

"Yes!" yelled Vault.

Flashback end:

"Whoa, the water knight waved you?" said Luu Luu.

"Can you believe it? But the Boneknapper got away again." said Vault and he began to tell another story.

"Are you kidding? I don't believe any of this," said Maia.

"You don't even have any proof that that thing exists." said Alicia.

"Of course I have proof. I still have the treasure." he said. And he showed them and oddly shaped belt buckle. "This stunning belt buckle. It was in the knight's treasure chest. It kept my pants up for years."

"It is, stunning," said Prim.

Then Kaguya pressed her elbow on Connor to tell Vault.

"Listen, Vault, instead of chasing down an imaginary dragon, maybe we should figure out how to get home." said Connor.

"Say no more. I hear you loud and clear, I've got a plan," said Vault. "Alright. Who'd like to be dragon bait?" he asked.

The Warriors gasped and glanced at Grave, and he glanced at Luu Luu, but she stepped away from him.

Later, Grave became dragon bait wearing a red car hood, and above him is a cage made out of cars.

"Are you sure this is safe," Grave questioned.

"Safety's overrated." Vault answered, which causes Grave to be confused.

"OK, here's the plan. The Boneknapper wants me, right? He comes down that trail, sees Grave, thinks it's me, rushes Grave, causing Luu Luu to trip that rope, dropping that cage and then we rush in and finish him off, once and for all!" he explained it to the Warriors.

"This is getting sad," said Claudia.

"Vault, you're taking this way too far, OK? You need to face it. There is no such thing as the Boneknapper." told Connor.

"Nonsense! Now, get into position. Way to go Grave! You're doing fine!"

"No wonder the entire kingdom thinks you're crazy." he said.

As the Warriors are complaining. Grave spotted the Boneknapper landing behind them. That dragon really exists, and he tried to warn them.

"Guys, guys! Guys!" yelled Grave.

"What!" they yelled, and then they heard rattling bones.

"It's right behind us, isn't it?" Connor spoked.

They turned and saw the Boneknapper, in the flesh. And it let out, a squeak.

"How do you like that, no roar," said Grave.

"Run!" Vault yelled, the Warriors ran as the Boneknapper breathed fire.

"OK Vault, we believe you!" yelled Kaguya.

Then the Boneknapper swings his tail and the Warriors were blown into the trap with Grave.

And Luu Luu, who clearly wasn't paying attention to anything sets off the trap, where the car cage trapped the Warriors.

"Luu Luu!" cried Vault.

The Boneknapper charged towards them and fired again, but not before the Warriors went behind the cars.

The Boneknapper began hitting the cage to get to Vault. Then Connor noticed a hole on its torso and looked Vault's belt buckle that matched the hole.

"Wait, it searches for the perfect bone to build its coat of armor. The treasure!" said Connor, that's why the Boneknapper was after Vault. "Vault, take off your pants." he ordered.

"Huh?" questioned Vault.

"No!" yelled the Warriors.

"Wait, listen to me. I think Kaguya was right. The Boneknapper is supposed to have a roar. But maybe he can't because the bone he needs is your belt buckle."

"Vault please, you have to get it back," said Alicia.

"No way. It's mine," Vault refused. But the Boneknapper grabbed him by the cape. "uh-oh." he said.

Then Boneknapper began to shake him like a rag doll.

"Give him back his bone!" yelled Connor.

"No!" he still refused.

"Give him back his bone!" he yelled.

"No!" The Boneknapper kept shaking him until he let's Vault go, "Fine." he grabbed the bone and threw it at the Boneknapper, and the piece fits perfectly.

And Vault landed on a car, and then, the Boneknapper casted a powerful roar so loud the Warriors covered their ears. Now that the dragon finally got the piece, he finally faces Vault.

"Vault!" Connor yelled.

With nowhere else to go, Vault decided to give up.

"I can't take it anymore, you win. Make it quick," said Vault. Suddenly, the Boneknapper began to nuzzle him, Vault actually trained it.

But unfortunately, his pants fall down exposing his underwear which causes him to giggle in embarrassment, while the Warriors groaned in disgust.

"That's gonna give me nightmares." groaned Connor.

"Well, at least we have a ride home." said Alicia. As they watch Vault scratching the Boneknapper.

The Warriors are now riding on the Boneknapper, and are heading straight to East Liverpool.

"He sure seems happy to have that bone back." said Connor.

"Well, legend says the Boneknaper's roar is its mating call," said Kaguya.

"Oh, that's just a myth," said Vault, until they all heard a roar and they turned in shock. "Uh-oh," said Vault, while Luu Luu screamed. "I think everyone will believe now, eh?" And on their trail, is a flock of Boneknappers.
