Dragon Warriors
in Into the Book of Dragons
In the catacombs, Connor is writing down new information into the Book of Dragons.
"What are you doing Connor?" Connor turned and spotted Luu Luu and the rest of the Warriors.
"Oh, just updating the pages into the book," Connor explained.
"Yes. Between these two covers are the most incredible creatures you'd ever hope to see, some you know, but there are some you've never seen before. And you won't last a day out there if you don't learn the facts in here." Vault spoked.
"Come on Vault, we've already trained dragons," said Alicia.
"Well, this book contains more than just training. It's the key to unlocking a new world of dragons." Vault explained to Alicia. "And I don't suppose you know who started it all do you," he said.
Story:
The story begins with a little boy fall down and landed next to a statue of a man with a sword, as he sat back up he was hit in the head with a sword.
The boy has black hair, wears a white shirt with a red vest, black pants, and brown boots. And his name is Thomas.
"I thought it had something to do with Thomas the Great," said Alicia.
When Thomas looked at the statue of himself, he tried to do that same pose, but he wasn't strong enough to hold a sword.
Next, we see a village in the morning, Thomas came out and took a deep breath.
"Well, Alicia. But before he was great, he was known as Thomas the Odd."
"That's an odd nickname," said Claudia.
"That's right." Vault agreed. "It seemed that everything Thomas touched went wrong," he explained.
As Thomas was about to enjoy his day, he tripped and landed on a horse. IT neighed and kicked a barrel and it hit the baker, causing him to drop his finished bread.
After that, Thomas was annoyed that he has the worst luck, and it began to rain, and he was struck by lightning which causes him to yowl in pain.
"Thomas was my great-great-great-grandfather."
Next, it shows Thomas working as a shepherd.
"But he started out as a shepherd."
Suddenly, a herd of Gronckles ate the entire flock.
"But his sheep got very small."
But the Gronckles didn't get one sheep.
Next, it shows Thomas shoeing a horse.
"As it turns out, Thomas and dragons don't mix."
Then a Nadder swooped in and took the horse, then horseshoes landed on Thomas's head. And the Nadder took an entire anvil.
"So he gave blacksmithing s try..."
Then the anvil landed on him.
"Ouch!" Thomas yelled, and he left with a flat appearance.
Next, it shows Thomas with a field of grain.
"And had a go at farming."
But a Nightmare burned an entire field, which frustrated Thomas.
Next, it shows Thomas catching a fish.
"But he settled for the life of a fisherman."
Then a Gronckle caught the fish and dragged Thomas.
Next, it shows Thomas in a campfire in the middle of the forest, and he began to check to see if there are no dragons around.
As he was about to eat a fish sandwich, a Nadder ate a piece of it, and he began to run and spotted a cat.
"Out of the way cat!" said Thomas, until he made it to the darkest place in the forest and he sighed in relief.
Suddenly, glowing eyes opened and Thomas spotted them.
"What the...?" he questioned. And those eyes belonged to a Nightmare as it breathed fire and ruining his sandwich.
After that, he left as he is now burned and tossed away what's left of his sandwich until the cat caught it.
"And he used to say, 'If you see a dragon, kill on sight.'," said Vault. "Celestine taught us that we could train a dragon. But it was Thomas who had the idea to classify them."
Next, it shows the Stoker class symbol.
"And what does Thomas say is the first class of dragons?"
"That's easy. Stoker class," said Connor. "According to the book, these dragons are fire-breathers," he explained.
And it shows a Terror following a shiny object.
"And when training a Terror start with a very shiny object."
"Aww, he's cute," said Alicia.
"Cute?! Maybe on his own," said Vault.
Then it shows Thomas eating a drumstick until he spotted a Terror. Then he threw another drumstick and the Terror followed it.
"But Thomas says if you get the Terror in a group, it's no picnic," he said.
The Terror came back and Thomas threw another drumstick, as he was about to eat again, he spotted a pack of Terrors.
"You see, Terrors are social creatures. They love to hunt in packs."
The Terrors growled at Thomas, he began to search through his basket and took out an entire turkey. Until the Terrors ate his clothes leaving nothing but his underwear, and one Terror took a drumstick with him.
"Now what about the Monstrous Nightmare? You can see how this creature got his name."
Next, it shows a Nightmare taking a nap until it smells something.
"Barely a knight has tamed this fierce creature."
It turns out that Thomas is cooking corn for his girlfriend.
But when the Nightmare came she screamed, and Thomas began hitting it with a frying pan. But the Nightmare threw it away and stole a bowl full of corn.
"But you know what Thomas used to say? 'You fall down, you get right back on the dragon.'."
Then Thomas used the corns for weapons and jumped on top of the Nightmare and began beating it with the corns.
"I bet he didn't know that the Nightmare can set itself on fire," said Kaguya.
Then the Nightmare ignited itself which scorched Thomas and turned his corns into popcorn.
Next, it shows a Nightmare cooking fish.
"And if there's one thing you don't want, it's an angry Nightmare," she said. "That's why we tried a more gentle approach."
Next, it shows Vault placing his hand on Scar's snout.
"Instead of wrestling a Monstrous Nightmare, just give him a little respect. A gentle hand on his snout." said Connor.
"Looks like you kids have made some breakthroughs," said Vault. "Alright, Luu Luu. Why don't you tell us about your dragon?" he said.
Next, it shows the Boulder class symbol.
"Bigjaw's my Gronckle, and Gronckles are tough rock-eating Boulder class dragons," said Luu Luu.
"But how do you train a Gronckle?" asked Prim.
Next, it shows Grave and Luu Luu rubbing dragon nip on Bigjaw and Bomber's snouts.
"A Gronckle won't stay mad at you if you just feed him a little dragon nip," said Connor.
"Yeah, and like all dragons, Gronckles are rumored to have five stages of maturity." Luu Luu explained.
Then it shows a Gronckle egg being hatched.
"The first stage is the egg. Then the tiny tooth. The short wing. The broad wing. And the last stage is the titan wing, which is extremely rare." she said.
Then the baby Gronckle changed into its adult form and flew away. Followed by other Gronckles.
"Rare, but a sight to behold," said Vault. "Let's look at another from the Boulder class," he said.
Next, it shows the Warriors fighting a pack of Whispering Deaths.
"The Whispering Death. Just saying its name gives you the shivers."
Next, it shows Thomas and his girlfriend on a date, but what they didn't know is that a group of Whispering Deaths was digging to the surface.
"Thomas says the Whispering Death knows only one thing: Killing!"
Then Thomas gave his girlfriend a flower and they kissed.
"They burrow through the dirt and rock, attacking from below."
Then one Whispering Death came out and blew fire, right above Thomas's girlfriend. He flees and came back with a mallet and hits the dragon, as his girlfriend came back down. And Thomas did the same with the other one.
The couple smiled until another Whispering Death came out and breathed fire and it went back underground, and because of that attack, Thomas's turned into dust.
But his girlfriend poured water and Thomas grew like a flower and they kissed.
Then it shows that the Whispering Deaths were beaten by the Warriors they escaped.
"Their rotating teeth can bore through anything. And these Boulder class baddies are so wicked, they can breathe rings of fire!" she said.
Next, it shows a janitor brushing a Whispering Death's teeth.
"But even though these dragons have a fearsome reputation, it turns out they just loved to be brushed."
"With patience, any dragon can be trained," said Connor.
Next, it shows the Fear class symbol.
"Even this next batch: Fear class," he said.
"These dragons are silent, they're sneaky, they turn up when you least expect them."
"If Fear class dragons are so sneaky, how did Thomas find one?" asked Maia.
Then it shows Thomas finding his pet sheep Wilbur.
"He did better than find one. He found the lair of a Zippleback," said Vault.
And when Thomas found Wilbur, he went into a cave where Thomas soon followed.
"Really?" asked Claudia.
"Actually, it wasn't him who found it. It was his trusty sheep, Wilbur." Vault explained to Claudia.
Thomas looked around in the cave until he found Wilbur, but suddenly one head of the Zippleback appeared, and Thomas took out his sword and began fighting it.
"And what do you know of a Zippleback?" he said.
"Got two heads. Twice the danger," said Connor.
Then the other head of the Zippleback appeared, and just as Tomas was about to fight, one head releases gas, and the other head ignites it creating an explosion that scorched Thomas's clothes off and turning his sword into dust.
"One head releases gas and the other ignites it," he said.
"And if you feed both heads at once, they become one agreeable dragon," said Alicia.
"That's right. If you want to befriend a dragon, it's a good idea to start by feeding it," said Grave.
Then it shows Alicia and Prim feeding Smoke and Flame and playing with them.
"And once they're fed, make sure you play with them," he said.
"You're full of good tips," said Vault. "But what happens when you go from two heads to four?" he said.
Next, it shows the Warriors facing a Snaptrapper.
"The Venus flytrap of dragons, the devious Snaptrapper!"
Then it shows a Snaptrapper's four heads opening their mouths and releasing their scent.
"The book says that this wild beast has enticed many of knights into its deadly trap, with its sweet smell of chocolate," said Alicia.
Thomas was raking the leaves until he smelled the scent, he believed it was chocolate and he began to follow the scent with his nose.
Thomas fell into the Snaptrapper's trap, and one head ate him.
"And like all dragons, the Snaptrapper sheds its scales," said Grave.
Then the Snaptrapper's scales fell off.
"And it's claws," said Prim.
And its claws fall off, which causes the Snaptrapper to cry.
"But they all grow back," she said.
Suddenly, the Snaptrapper's scales and claws grew back, and one head spits out Thomas.
NExt it shows the Snaptrapper blasting at the Warriors, but they dodged it.
"With all those heads, Thomas must have had four times the trouble.
"That's a fact," said Vault.
Next, it shows Thomas gathering firewood, until he small a familiar scent.
"Until one day, Thomas made an interesting discovery," he said.
Then the Snaptrapper appeared, Thomas braced himself for another eating. But suddenly, it started to rain and the Snaptrapper chirped.
"Snaptrappers love rain."
Thomas noticed that the Snaptrapper is distracted by the rain.
"And they can't wait to play in the mud."
Then the Snaptrapper splashed into a mud puddle where it splashed all over Thomas, then he removed the mud and splattered on its heads in annoyance.
"Well, the Snaptrapper is incredible, but let's see what secrets we uncover with the next class of dragons," said Luu Luu.
Next, it shows the Sharp class symbol.
"The Sharp class," said Maia.
Then it shows Thomas with a sword and shield as he was facing a Nadder.
But the Nadder stopped as it looked its reflection of the shield.
"These dragons have a generous dose of vanity and spend a lot of time preening. My personal favorite is the Deadly Nadder," she explained.
Then the Nadder took out its spikes.
Next, it shows Maia on Spike launching his spikes at the monsters.
"Thomas says that Nadders have the hottest fire in the dragon world."
Next, it shows a Nadder eating herbs.
"We found the best way to train her was to approach her carefully, slowly moving around back toward her tail."
Then Thomas sneaked behind it and poked its tail with his sword.
"her tail? Are you crazy," said Grave. "It's full of poisonous spikes that can launch at will," he said to Maia.
The Nadder felt it and took out its spikes, then Thomas ran. But the Nadder launched them, but they didn't hit him. They hit his shield and Thomas is surrounded by spikes as he rolled around.
"Yes, but if you move slowly enough, and you show her you're not a threat, she'll let you smooth her tail spikes down."
Next, it shows Maia and Kaguya smoothing Spike and Yusha's spikes down.
"There's more to the Sharp class than just Nadders. Let's look at what Thomas wrote about the Timberjack," said Connor.
Next, it shows the Timberjack flying above a forest roaring.
"This dragon attacks out of the sky with razor-sharp wings and can slice through a forest like a giant guillotine.
Then Thomas hid behind a tree from a Timberjack. And he heard a sword slashing, and the tree that he was hiding fall down into different sections, and the Timberjack glared at him.
"Ow," said Thomas, and he left. Now his body became sections, that went up and down like an accordion.
Next, it shows a Timberjack purring, because a boy is scratching its back.
"But those long wings of the Timberjack make it impossible for him to even scratch his back," said Connor.
"Yeah, and if you scratch his itch, he's your friend forever," said Luu Luu.
"Another brilliant survival tip," said Vault. "A perfect opportunity to teach new trainers about this class of dragons," he said.
Next, it shows the Tidal class symbol.
"These beasts live in the watery deep and they can out-swim the fastest ship."
Then it shows Thomas fishing on a boat, filled with fish.
"Did Tomas even know that the sea was full of dragons?" asked Grave.
"Not at first. But he soon found out that the open sea was not easy, because if there's one thing that sea dragons like to eat more than a fish... it's a whole boatload of fish."
Then Thomas spotted two Scauldron's swimming and are coming to his boat, and he was struggling to get a stubborn fish, but he didn't know it was a Scauldron and it took Thomas's fishing rod.
Then two Scauldrons ate the fishes that Thomas has caught, and they also ate half of his boat and he sank.
Next, it shows the Warriors spotting a Scauldron.
"And after that first sighting, Thomas called it a Scauldron. As we now know, that sea dragon fills itself up with water, then heats it in its giant cauldron-like stomach."
Next, it shows a Scauldron blasting boiling water, but the Warriors blocked it with their shields.
"One blast from that hot water, and you're finished."
"We found out something about Scauldrons." said Connor.
Next, it shows the Scauldron locking Harold after he accidentally doused himself with water.
"If you wanna train them, douse yourself with water. Turns out they like anything that reminds them of home," he said.
Next, it shows Wavelength roaring and it causes the windshields of the cars to shatter.
"Look at what also lurks in the deep. It's the mighty Thunderdrum," said Vault. "This beast moves through the water like a tornado, and is capable of delivering a sonic blast of pure dragon power," he explained.
Next, it shows Thomas walking past the snowy mountains as he shivered due to the cold.
Then he climbed a bit and spotted a dragon egg.
"The story goes that Thomas got lost ice fishing, and he stumbled across a Thunderdrum nest."
Then Thomas lightly kicked the eg, and he kicked it hard, and then he jumped on it. Then he took a break.
"That must have been quite a rude awakening because when a Thunderdrum hatches from its shell, it makes a sound so loud it rattles the sky!"
Then the egg started to hatch, and like all dragon eggs, it explodes.
And Thomas was launched and he landed on a frozen lake, it cracked and Thomas went into the water, but he went back up and is completely frozen.
Next, it shows Wavelength destroying a frequency machine.
"Now, here's a class that might stump you."
Next, it shows the Mystery class symbol.
"What symbol is that?" Luu Luu questioned.
"It's a symbol for the Mystery class." Vault said to Luu Luu.l "We don't really know how these guys work. That's why they're a mystery." he said.
Next, it shows a group of Changewings changing color so they can attack the Warriors.
"Is it a tree? Is it a rock? No, it's the Changewing. This strange dragon can disappear into any environment."
Next it shows a Changewing following Thomas into the woods, he stopped and turned after it changes green.
Thomas thought he was imagining things before he can continue, Thomas turned after the Changewing quickly changes green after that he continues to walk.
"Thomas noticed that Changewings are curious creatures," said Connor.
The Changewing spotted Thomas who is creating a fire, as it crawled onto a tree and changes brown except his head.
"And they display mimicking behavior. Whatever they see, they loved to copy.
Then Thomas began to blow to get the fire going, seeing what he's doing, the Changewing blew fire at him. After Thomas was burned the fire started, then he glared at the Changewing and it smiled sheepishly.
Next, it shows the Warriors fighting the Changewings.
Then the Changewings began to chase after Gorg and Troox.
"Changewings are known for their acid breath and their ability to hypnotize. But finding one takes a keen eye," said Vault.
Next it shows a little girl playing hide and seek with a Changewing.
"Does being able to change color means their skin is softer?" asked Alicia.
"For some, yes. And it makes them vulnerable to attacks," he said to Alicia. "So these dragons can protect themselves in a strange way."
Next, it shows the Boneknaper breathing fire.
"Like this beauty: The Boneknapper."
Next, it shows Thomas collecting dragon bones, while a Boneknapper is stealing them.
"This odd creature collects the bones of dead dragons and makes itself an unusual coat of armor."
As Thomas collected a big bone, he spotted the Boneknapper, and it roared at him, which tore off all his clothes.
Thomas waved nervously and quickly walked backwards.
Next, it shows the Boneknapper chasing the Warriors.
And swinging Vault around.
"The best way to deal with this brutal bag of bones is to subdue it with force and fear and firepower!"
"Sure right. That's what you did Vault," said Claudia.
Next, it shows the Boneknapper nuzzling Vault and scratching him.
"All right, all right, all right. You give a Boneknapper whatever it's looking for and it's just like an overgrown dog." Vault replied. "Why don't we go on to the next class of dragons?" he said.
Next, it shows the Strike class symbol.
"Finally, Strike class," said Luu Luu.
Next, it shows Connor riding on Shade.
Shade firing at Doomsday.
Shade eating meat.
Every dragon in this class is characterized by blazing speed, vice-like jaw strength, and extreme intelligence." said Connor. "I give you the Skrill," he said.
Next, it shows Ronnoc with Shocks.
And they took off at supersonic speed.
"This elusive creature is highly secretive and is known to ride lightning bolts. Found only during electrical storms, it can shoot bursts of white fire."
Next, it shows Thomas petting Wilbur, but then a Skrill walked on top of them.
"If you get too close to a Skrill, your hair will stand on end."
Then it activated its ability, then Thomas's hair and Wilbur's wool became fuzzy, which causes Wilbur to bounce away.
"Let's see what else is in the book."
Next, it shows the Auxilary Riders looking at the Night Fury page.
"The Night Fury. Speed, unknown. Size, unknown."
"I guess this book really does need updating," said Vault.
Next, it shows the Warriors spotting Shade in the day.
"The unholy offspring of lightning and death itself," said Connor.
Next, it shows the Warriors facing Shade.
"So, Connor, how did you train a Night Fury?" asked Vault.
Next, it shows the Warriors dropping their weapons and Shade became harmless.
"First I had to get his attention. THen I needed to earn his trust." Connor explained.
Next, it shows the Warriors flying around. And Shade doing a trick.
"Everyone wonders what it's like to fly. And now thanks to Shade, we know. The world is full of dragons. But I've never seen another Night Fury." he said.
Next, it shows Shade walking towards Beardsley, who is drawing him.
"I have so many questions about him. But I do know one thing."
Next, it shows Shade pressing his snout on Connor's hand, and then he snorted and left.
"Shade didn't just become my friend. He became the friend who gave me my purpose."
"He's quite the dragon, I'll grant you that," said Vault.
Next, it shows Thomas fishing, suddenly, a Scauldron rose above him and ate a fish, and it went back into the water.
"So, now you see. Everything we know about dragons started with one unusual boy, who had a hunger to learn more," he said.
Then Thomas got an idea, and took out the book, and started writing.
"Over the years, curious knights like yourselves have updated the pages, and in time, Thomas of Dragons became Book of Dragons."
Next, it shows Thomas drawing a Scauldron.
Then it shows Thomas sitting down and drawing more details of a Scauldron.
"It's now a very big part of our knight heritage. So big, that Thomas the Odd was soon renamed Thomas the Great."
Next it shows Thomas writing down more information on dragons while his girlfriend is wrapping bandages around him.
"I bet you wish you knew him," said Alicia.
"Well, I do know him." Vault said to Alicia.
Next, it shows Thomas showing pictures of dragons to kids, along with other people.
"The fact is we all know him. Thanks to the Book of Dragons," he said.
"And I guess one day, new kids will know us by how we trained our dragons," said Connor.
Next, it shows the Warriors having a snack on top of a building.
"Yeah, they will. But in the meantime, you kids can carry on where Thomas left off."
"Well, then I'd better finish these Night Fury pages," said Connor.
Next, it shows a mural of the Warriors.
"There's still so much to learn," he said.
"Yeah!" Luu Luu agreed. "Like how fast Shade can go," she said.
Story end:
"Well, to be honest, I don't know his top speed, but..." Then Shade appeared. "Oh! Somebody wants to find out, does he? OK. Let's find out." said Connor and he left with Shade.
"Come on, let's go," Alicia called.
"Hey wait up!" said Luu Luu. And the Warriors soon left.
"Ah, enjoying their youth," said Vault.
"Yes, and I'm pretty sure children would train dragons," said Celestine.
"Impossible. They're too young to train them." Beardsley spoked.
"Oh, I wouldn't say that." she smiled.
Meanwhile, in Eostia, a group of squires are learning to train dragons.
"Good luck." said a knight.
