Six's POV

Walking into the camp of Century Team s2 was unnerving. Five men sat around a fire their cold grey eyes on him. They were in military fatigues with white shirts and no jackets. Each one had a gun holstered at their side and he had no doubt they wouldn't hesitate to use them. Those five were not the ones that kept his attention.

Standing across the fire was a brown-haired man with cold grey eyes. He snapped in a thick french accent, "What business does Providence have with Century Team 12? We have no interest in helping you people."

Conklin snapped coldly, "Echo we have business with Delta. Where is he?"

The one called Echo gave a shake of his head as he said, "He's in his tent avoiding Providence. If you want our help you have to convince me before you can talk to Delta."

Conklin growled, "We dont have time for this Echo. Delta needs to come out now so we can discuss plans to help Providence."

The man didn't budge an inch. Eyes coldly watched them his demeanor unchanging. It seemed Delta wasnt the only one who didnt like authority. How could one person keep control over a group if they were all like this?

Hairs on the back of his neck stood up on end. He could feel eyes on him from all around. From the way, Noah stiffened he felt it too. Good the kid was learning.

Conklin sighed before calling out loudly, "Delta I know you have problems with problems but there are lives at stake here. It's not just about rescuing White Knight. It's about the lives Providence can save and how that will be delayed indefinitely while looking for a new leader."

Six glanced at the man. While this was true why would the man care? Most of Medusa were mercenaries who were forced to participate. If it wasnt for money they wouldn't do anything.

An exhausted sigh came from the tent and it opened. A black-haired man with cold grey eyes came out. He was close to six feet tall. Unsurprisingly he wore a lightweight white undershirt. Given the heat, it would make sense that they weren't wearing combat jackets. On the top of the shirt was a pair of dog tags. He very much doubted that the soldier had any real information on. What caught his attention was how young the soldier looked. He didnt look any older than Noah.

Grey eyes turned towards him and for a moment there was a flash of recognition before it was carefully hidden away. This man knew him? From Six's memory, he didnt recall a person that fit this description.

The man turned his attention back to Conklin as he said, "It is not our place to aid Providence. They have their own soldiers to risk. Why should I risk my men for a man who would forget about us later? To Providence, we are nothing just bodies to act as shields."

Six wanted to argue that it wasnt like that at all. They would be willing to work together with Medusa. Though if he was honest the old him would have treated them that way. The Six before Rex had dropped in and turned their lives upside down. He missed the kid.

Noah snapped angrily, "What the hell would you know about Providence? All people like you see is what they report on the news. We take care of our own. That's what it means to be an agent of Providence."

"Like you took care of Rex?"

Shock filled the group. How did this soldier know about Rex? Actually, how did he know that Rex wasnt happy with them? Thanks to Rex's actions the news got wind of him the day he met Noah. No one knew however why Rex stopped appearing on the scene. No one except a handful of agents within Providence.

Calan decided though that he had enough of this man. In a fit of anger, he marched right up to the younger man and grabbed him up by his collar. Grey eyes hardened as he grabbed at Calan's wrist.

Calan snapped, "Who are you to question us? You and you're," he sneered at someone over Six's shoulder, "group are nothing more than mercenaries for hire. You should be grateful to be assisting us to begin with."

Six turned to see several other men coming up to join the conversation. At a short signal from Delta, they stopped enclosing in on them. Still, they stayed within their hearing range of them.

Delta snarled, "Yes because that's how you want to ask a favor from someone. All you Providence agents are the same. In your eyes, you can do no wrong and that's why you lost your weapon. He couldn't take it anymore."

Then before any of the rest of them could react Delta slammed his fist into Calan's diaphragm. There was a whoosh as the man expelled all of the breath in his lungs. It was swiftly followed through by an uppercut to the jaw. Calan was sent reeling back.

Holiday and Noah tried to step in but Six shook his head silently. No, they are going to see where this was going. That man's words were too personal for him not to know Rex. If they were going to find out about the kid they needed Delta to be amiable to talking with them. On top, if that Calan needed to be brought down a few notches.

Calan recovered fairly quickly and tried to punch Delta in kind. It was pathetic at how easily the younger sidestepped him. Even to a child, it should have been obvious that regular tactics wouldn't work. Then again Calan wasnt known for his ingenuity. Like White Knight, he was a stickler for the rules.

Delta allowed the agent to attack and go after him. Despite the years of experience that he had, Calan couldn't seem to land a hit. Every time he would get close the younger man would move at the last second. A fierce grin was on his face that was reminiscent of Rex's.

As he watched them fight Six was reminded of a rumor that had been going around. Rumor said that killers within Medusa eyes eventually went from their natural color to grey. It was how people were able to see when the soldier's hearts had been hardened to the world around them. He had always assumed that it was just a rumor.

Delta could be Rex if he had brown eyes instead of grey. Without a blood test, he wouldn't be able to prove his suspicions. If it was true then the anger towards Providence and White Knight would make sense.

Seemingly done with the fight Delta got inside of Calan's guard. His fist connected a second later with the agent's nose. There was a crunch as the nose broke and blood poured from his nose.

Eyes watering Calan tried to attack Delta again only to be stopped by Six's sharp order, "Stop! You are obviously no match for Delta. Give it up before he breaks something important."

Calan grumbled but moved away from Delta. A few of the soldier's men came over asking soft questions. For a moment their eyes met and he felt as if this could truly be their first lead on Rex. Even if Delta wasnt the kid he knew what happened to him. First things first was to get him alone.

Delta growled, "If you want us to work with you, then we do this my way. Otherwise, you will find someone else to save your precious White Knight. I have better things to do after all."

Six sighed, "We can agree to that."

"Fine then. Follow me."

With that, he went into the tent he had come out of. This left him and the others to follow or find someone else.
