The week passed rather slowly. Hell it passed so slowly that it was almost painful.
Still when the week was up, Setsuna just made his way towards Gosha Academy to officially start things. He sighed, scratched his head and muttered something unheard as he adjusted his bag stepping into the academy grounds. Looking outside from her office window, Headmistress Asagi just stared at him as she made an unreadable expression before looking back at Yamamoto who stood across from her.
"So, you're saying that everything Section 3 had on him was fake?"
"I'm afraid so." Yamamoto admitted.
"When did you first realize his entire existence was a lie?" Asagi asked, though there wasn't a hint of accusation in her eyes as she spoke. She trusted Yamamoto after all; and while not blindly, the trust between them was well earned. She knew Yamamoto wasn't the kind of man to hide something like this from her, he had no reason to after all.
Hiding this young man's existence didn't benefit him in the slightest.
"We found out yesterday." Yamamoto admitted. "Although I suspected things since I first spoke with him." He admitted. "There is no possible way that young man would have been able to actively slip under Section Three's radar for as long as he had while removing government officials and other members of society as he had with all the information we had on him." Yamamoto paused. "Either he was simply that good at covering his tracks… or everything we knew about him was a lie to begin with." Yamamoto paused again. "So over the week I've had my people do more digging into this young man's past and we found small inconsistencies starting to appear within his documented background."
"I see…" Asagi muttered. "And that told you that he wasn't who he said he was."
"Yes." Yamamoto admitted. "I have to admit though, whomever fabricated that file for him had done an excellent job. You don't find faked information concerning one person normally being that thorough."
"How thorough are we talking?"
"Birth certificate, the schools he went to, family photos, acquaintances, his time in juvie. Everything concerning this young man's history was fabricated to the highest degree. There are even fake pictures concerning his appearance throughout the years to show him 'growing up'."
"So someone 'made up' his entire existence." Asagi muttered. "I'm not surprised such a thing is possible, there are many abandoned cities where people are living illegally and outside the law. They don't have any documentation… but there are those that leave them and try to integrate with regular society. Those that do often have made some kind of contact that could fabricate their entire existence so they might blend in." Asagi seemed to think as she looked at the fake file that was on her desk. "And now one of those made up people are in Gosha."
"Do you still want to keep him here in the village?"
"Yes." Asagi stated. "No one is ever this thorough making someone up just because they want to. Whoever Setsuna-san really is… it would be best to keep him close so we might keep an eye on him." She muttered as she leaned back in her seat. "For now, let's keep this between us, there's no point in letting him catch on to the fact that we know he's not who he says he is."
The bell rang barely a second after the words were said.
"Agreed."
"Everyone, I'd like to introduce you to Yorugami Setsuna, a transfer student who will be joining us starting today." Todo Sayaka gestured to Setsuna as he just stared at the group before him. "I'm hoping that all of you can get along with him." Setsuna sighed as he addressed the class
"Right… well. I guess that's my que." He muttered as he ran a hand through his hair for a moment before returning his attention to the class. I'm Yorugami, how's it going?" He introduced himself as he lowered his hand as a sudden bout of chatter broke out in the classroom.
"Wait, we get transfer students? Since when is that a thing?" The classroom alternated between confusion and interest as they looked at the olive-skinned young man.
"I'm transferring over on recommendation of Yamamoto-san." Setsuna admitted as he shrugged. That got the confusion to shift towards interest as the chatter grew for a moment.
"Everyone let's quiet down." Todo-sensei called out before everyone started getting too drawn into their conversations."Yorugami-san. You can sit beside Uehara-san. Uehara, please raise your hand." A short girl near the back raised her hand as she gave the teen a smile. Setsuna simply blinked for a moment, confusion crossing his face before it suddenly vanished, replaced with a curt nod before walking over to the girl before sitting beside her.
"Hi there, I'm Uehara Shikanosuke." She introduced herself as Setsuna nodded.
"Well met." He stated before falling silent. "You know I didn't know traps were a real thing." He admitted as Shikanosuke chuckled weakly, running a hand through her - rather his long brown hair in embarrassment.
"It's a~ it's a clan thing."
"Ah~" Was all Setsuna said as he looked ahead of him as homeroom started. Todo-sensei taking attendance as he just rested a hand on his jaw. 'Not even five minutes in and I'm already bored…' Setsuna thought as he considered drifting off for a nap. 'This class looks like it's going to be a lot like the one in the last school I attended.' He admitted to himself. 'If this is anything to go by, then the rest of my classes will be the same too…' "How boring." He muttered. Being as this was apparently a school for ninjas he was kinda expecting things to play out a little differently. Maybe he'd learn some ninja lore, maybe he'd have to work on his stealth skills, maybe even throw a few of those kunai knives around. "Well it's still early, let's keep our fingers crossed." He told himself as he let the class play on as he pulled out a pencil and started twirling it between his fingers. Pausing for a moment though he let his pencil come to a complete stop as he glanced outside, his attention not really focused on anything. 'That feeling…' He smirked slightly. "Already huh?" He went back to twirling his pencil. 'Well, this shouldn't be to much of a surprise now, should it?'
After Class~
"Oh god finally." Setsuna muttered as he heard the bell ring, and sighed to himself. "I thought this class would never end." He muttered as he got to his feet and shook them for a few seconds to get the feeling back in them. "Honestly, I hate homeroom."
"Not a fan, Yorugami-san?" Turning to Shikanosuke, Setsuna just nodded his head as he and they started walking out, heading to their first real class of the day.
"Not really." Setsuna began. "It bores me… well, school in general bores me." He admitted. "Doesn't matter how hot the teacher is, school is rather boring."
"Eheh, I guess you have a point." Shikanosuke admitted. "Still it's not all that bad, Setsuna-san." Setsuna just gave him a look. "I mean, school is kinda boring, but at least you get to spend it with friends."
"I guess, I'd better get a hold of some friends then." Setsuna muttered as he seemed to drift away as Shikanosuke seemed to follow after him in silence.
"So-"
"Shika-chan!"
"Ah!" The pint sized young man found himself stumbling to keep his balance as someone latched onto him from behind.
"Good morning Shika-chan." A green haired girl greeted as she continued to hug her counterpart.
"Hebiko-chan, I told you not to sneak up on me like that!" Shikanosuke whined as he broke free from her grip and lert the slightly taller girl walk beside him while another started to walk up top the trio.
"Sorry I guess I forgot!" Hebiko she looked at the taller boy. "Ah- good morning Yorugami-san!"
"Morning." Setsuna replied as he looked at the girl for a moment longer. "Ah you're in our homeroom."
"Yep, Aishu Hebiko at your service!" She greeted as she reached behind her, grabbing another boys arm as she pulled him over. "And this is Kotaro-kun!"
"I see." Setsuna muttered as he looked at the other young man who was just smiling at Hebiko's antics.
"Yorugami Setsuna." Kotaro pulled his hand free and offer it to Setsuna who gladly took it.
"So, you're the new student my sister told me about."
"Sister?"
"Tokiko." Kotaro stated as Setsuna flashed back to last week. "She said she ran into you and Asagi-sensei last week."
"Ah~" Setsuna mused. "Yeah,, sorry I haven't seen her all week so my brain must have blurred her out." He admitted as he and the trio started walking on. "So you guys are my classmates huh. It's nice to properly meet you guys."
"Yeah." Kotaro agreed.
