"You know, this place looks rather nice actually." Alastor muttered to himself, taking a minute to wash his hands in a river as he looked around, his attention returning to the forest that surrounded him. Ringing his hands dry, he leaned back onto the riverbank and seemed to just take in the sights."I wouldn't mind spending a weekend out here just chilling." He muttered to himself taking a few more minutes before seeming to think. "I wonder if…" Whatever he was about to say was cut off as he suddenly leaned back, going flat on the ground as a tree behind him seemed to bend inward, the impact of something causing part of it to explode and send shards of wood everywhere. "Hm…" Setsuna made a noise. "That was a rubber bullet, but that impact…" He backflipped as a second bullet impacted where he had been and jumped to his feet, before moving to the side to dodge a third that dug into the ground. Again, Setsuna made a noise as he looked at the three rubber shells that had nearly hit him and then made a gesture with his hands to trace them back to where they came from. That done he just waited for the next shot to come and closed his eyes. "Let's see… what you look like…" He opened his eyes and his vision seemed to fly through the environment for a while before locking onto someone.
This was a trick he learned a long time ago; filtering his senses - dropping one in order to improve all the others by a degree or greatly enhance one of them. In this case he dropped something he felt he wasn't going to need for a while, his sense of taste and used the sensory boost to enhance his eyesight.
He saw a girl reloading.
Long blue hair put up in pigtails, red eyes and some variation of that Taimanin/stripper suit.
"So that's who's shooting at me." Setsuna muttered, smiling lightly as he waved at the girl, before starting to do sign language.
I see you...
Hikami Fuuka pulled back, surprise on her face as she looked at the boy just standing in her line of sights. Shaking her head she adjusted her rifle as she prepared to shoot again. "There's no way that he can actually see me…" She told herself. He did trace her shots after all, he had to just be messing with her - trying to get in her head.
You're about 500 meters away.
Her stomach did a backflip.
Don't move, I'll be right there to properly introduce myself.
He really could see her. She realized as she lowered her rifle and got to her feet, her gaze turning to look across the forest and where her current target was. He could see her, she had to move and she had to do it fast. "Damn it."
"Hm… she's moving." Setsuna muttered as he let his vision trail after the girl as he crossed his arms. "Guess she doesn't want to meet up." He muttered. "Still…" He muttered as he turned his vision to normal and let them focus on the woods in front of him. He didn't see anyone, he didn't have to.
He could smell them.
He could hear their heartbeat.
"Ara ara." He heard as something in front of him started to appear. It was a bit strange to be honest, it was like part of the woods were stepping out of place and it was steadily replaced with the figure of a woman. "I'm surprised you were able to sense me."
"Wasn't too hard." Setsuna stated as he tapped his nose with his thumb and did the same with one of his ears. "Still, camouflage huh. Makes sense that you guys can do that." He shrugged. "You know, being ninja's and all that." He stated, his attention focusing on the beauty in front of him. Long pink hair, and red eyes. "Or is that just something you can do?"
"I'm afraid my Ninja Art isn't exclusive." She told him before bowing slightly."I'm sorry I haven't introduced myself yet, have I? My name is Omine Nana, I'm a 3rd year student here at Gosha."
"So you're my senpai." Setsuna realized as he bowed in return. "Yorugami Setsuna, it's a pleasure." He stated rising up to meet her eyes.
"Ah, so you are Yorugami-san." Nana stated. "The transfer student."
"You know me."
"Of course, there's been rumors about you since your arrival last week."
Setsuna raised an eyebrow. "What kind of rumors?" He asked.
"Well there is the rumor that you're really Yamamoto-san's son, and that you were sent to Gosha for training on your fathers behalf." Setsuna rolled his eyes at that. "There's also a rumor that you're Igawa-sensei's new fiance, and that you're coming to Gosha to spend more time with her." Setsuna gave her this look; a cross between annoyance and disbelief.
"Yeah none of those rumors are real…" Setsuna muttered before seeming to pause. "Wait, did you say 'new' fiance?"
"Hai."
"What happened to the old one?" Nana gave him an apologetic look.
"I'm sorry but that's not my place to say." She told him. "If you really want to know I would recommend speaking to Igawa-sensei herself." Nana recommended. "Although, i'm not certain if its something she wants to talk about yet."
"I see." A silence passed between the two as Setsuna reached for the wooden kunai he had taken from Tenma earlier. "Anyway, shall we get started, senpai?"
"Of course." Nana adjusted her scimitar-like katana as she got ready. "Whenever you're ready."
"Please, after you." Without warning Nana threw her weapon and Setsuna deflected the weapon with his own before noticing something as the woman approached. 'A rope?' There was a rope of sorts attached to the end of her weapon. Nana closed in, throwing a kick as Setsuna dodged, only to find her leg slamming into the rope and causing it to bend. Without warning, her weapon turned, the blade coming from behind as Setsuna ducked under it. He raised an arm and blocked against a heel drop, before slamming his opposite fist into the defending arm. Nana lost her balance as she was pushed back, she turned it into a backflip as her weapon spun around her before closing in on Setsuna. He leaned back to dodge the weapon and followed by jumping back to gain a bit of distance. Nana did a full spin as Setsuna dodged the weapon again and charged in.
Pulling on the rope Nana returned the weapon to her hand and met the charge. Her wooden blade slammed into Setsuna's kunai before he moved to the side, diverting the force as he did and caused the woman to stumble forward. He spun around, his heel slamming into the back of Nana's head and she rolled with it. A tight frontflip that ended when her hands hit the ground and one of her heels nearly slammed into his chin. He grabbed her outstretched leg and spun around, throwing her elsewhere and she responded by throwing her weapon. It wasn't aimed at him though, rather the weapon wrapped around a tree branch that stopped her from flying off before it pulled her back. Setsuna watched her land and just raised a hand before using a thumb to rub it on his chin, feeling where her heel had landed. It didn't leave a bruise or anything, but he definitely felt that she'd manage to touch him.
"Not bad." Setsuna muttered as he fully turned to her as she retrieved her weapon. "If this is what a third year can do, I'm curious about what the teachers are capable of." He admitted. "If I really plan on keeping up, I'm really going to have to adjust, you're nothing like the low-lives and bodyguards and other fighters I've dealt with."
"Thank you for the compliment, but you have to understand, we Taimanin are trained from a young age to develop the skills we possess, we didn't suddenly decide to start learning to fight demons one day." Nana stated as Setsuna nodded his head.
"Makes sense." Setsuna stated as he seemed to stretch his arms while Nana started to spin her weapon from its rope. Honestly, Setsuna was impressed that not a single sound came from the weapon moving through the air. "That said, I can tell you aren't taking this to seriously." He stated. "And to be fair I'm in the same boat; this is a training exercise after all, there's no need to go all out and lose ourselves in the fight." Setsuna stated as he shook his arms and started stretching his legs. "Not that I'd be complaining if we did."
"You prefer a more serious battle." It wasn't a question.
"A serious fight gives me a better idea where I stand on the ladder; are my skills on par with yours or are they better? Or are they somewhere beneath you" Setsuna stopped stretching. "If that's the case, how much do I need to adjust to be at your level?" Setsuna asked. "Regardless of all that, shall we continue, or do you want to call it a draw for now and wrap this up later?"
"Do you have somewhere else to be?"
"Not really." Setsuna shrugged. "But I'd like to see what everyone else is capable of before the times up and we gotta call it a day. I want to know who stands where."
"Why is that?" Nana asked. "Do you wish to stand at the top; claim the title of strongest Taimanin?" Setsuna started laughing.
"Not at all." He told her. "I have no need for that title." He stated. "Besides, I got more than enough on me already."
"Is that so?" Nana sounded humored. "And what might those titles be?"
Well, everyone likes calling me the Hunter." That got Nana's smile to disappear.
She knew that name. The Hunter; active Taimanin heard about this being often when they stepped into the Underworld. A vigilante - a spirit of retribution who hunted the wicked. "You're the Hunter?"
"Hai…" Setsuna shrugged. "I didn't come up with that title but it latched on to me ya know." Setsuna admitted. "As for my other titles… well… let's see if I can go down the list…" He muttered, seeming to think. "Well, there's Za Wan."
The One.
"Tenka'ichi."
The Number One Under Heaven.
"There's Ikki tō'oku."
One horseman standing up to a hundred million men.
He stopped listing off his titles before turning to Nana who just stared at him. "And my personal favorite…"
Dairokuten-maō no Sairai.
Asagi narrowed her eyes at the words, her hands tightening on her forearm. That wasn't just a nickname someone came up with at random. It meant something that could either spell disaster for the world or issue a great change in it.
Dairokuten-maō no Sairai; The Second Coming of the Demon King of Sixth Heaven.
You plan on… succeeding Oda Nobunaga?
She saw Nana ask on screen.
Setsuna just smiled at the woman.
"Yamamoto… who the hell did you send to my school?"
