The boys did their best to plow through the homework that they had today. Even as they worked, it managed to feel more fun than it would have been if they had been on their own. Though Ignis came by to check on them, Prompto tried his hardest not to feel nervous or freaked out. At least with Ignis in the room he could pick up the scents coming from the older boy.

He was definitely a warlock much like Noctis, but his magic was different from Noctis's. There was still something rather unique about Noctis, that one something that Prompto had yet to figure out yet. Whatever was different about his magic really stood out between the two warlocks. But still, Prompto wouldn't say anything. The last thing he wanted to do was make a fool of himself or ask something he shouldn't.

"So are the two of you finished?" Ignis asked.

"Yeah we are, you don't need to watch over us like children," Noctis said.

"I fear that I may, knowing how easily distracted you can be," Ignis replied.

"Well we are finished," Noctis retorted.

Prompto nodded along. "Yeah. We just did our last math problem."

"Very well. Now if you don't mind Prompto, I would like to borrow Noctis for a moment. There is something I must discuss with him privately."

"Really?" Noctis groaned as he leaned back in his chair. "Now?"

"Yes, right now. It won't take very long though."

With a sigh, Noctis pushed out of his chair and stood up. "Hey Prom, just give us a few, okay? Then we can go back to things."

"Sure thing, I'll just be waiting," Prompto said as he watched Noctis walk off with Ignis.

As he waited, he started to doodle little smiley faces on a blank sheet of notebook paper. It would help keep him busy in the meantime. Part way into his doodles he heard the door at the end of the long hallway close. Prompto wasn't even trying to focus on it, but he started to hear Ingis's voice faintly from where he sat.

"Now Noctis, I appreciate that you have made a friend. I'm happy to see that it has made you happier, but you know very well not to be reckless."

"And what was I being reckless for?"

"Hm, you should know just what it was that-"

Prompto covered up his human ears, trying to ignore and block out their voices. Even if his werewolf ears were no longer out, his human ears were still much better at picking up sound than a non-werewolf. The last thing he wanted to do was overhear some secret or private conversation that he knew clearly wasn't meant for him.

Yet, he started to worry it was about him. Ignis was glad Noctis had made a friend… but then said there was something reckless about that. Something about their friendship could be reckless? Prompto wasn't sure, but it didn't stop him from worrying over it. His heart picked up pace a little, aching at the thought that something was wrong.

"Maybe I'm the reckless one… it's reckless to be friends with a werewolf or some shit."

It couldn't be something like that… right? He had already been friends with Noctis for a good several months and no issues had happened so far. Nothing had happened between them that could have caused concern for his friendship to be in jeopardy. Unless it just happened to be from today.

He had let his emotions rise today and his ears and tail popped out. It was the first time since befriending Noctis that he had let that happen. It was embarrassing to have let his emotions spiral out of control, but Noctis hadn't seemed bothered by it, but instead thought of them as cute. The fact that Noctis liked his ears and thought of them that way did ease some of his worries, but he still had that overarching fear something else was wrong.

"Is Ignis concerned I could lose control and transform full? Does he not know that I would never hurt Noct? I'd never do that…"

With a deep breath, Prompto tried to keep himself calm. He didn't need anymore emotional spirals today. Whatever the reason was, he just needed to ignore it and forget it. If he didn't know, then he didn't have to worry. He would just keep trying to keep their friendship going as best as he could, not letting anyone think he was causing Noctis to be reckless.

Suddenly, he felt someone's hand on his shoulder, causing him to yelp. He dropped his hands and turned to his side, staring at Noctis who looked confused.

"You okay, Prompto?"

"U-Uh yeah yeah. Sorry. I just didn't want to… overhear anything?" Prompto admitted, knowing there was no way he could lie about that.

"Overhear?"

Prompto lowered his head slightly. "My ears still hear a lot better than yours would. N-Not that anything is wrong with your ears or anything! Just that werewolves, even in their human form, still have great hearing."

Noctis nodded along. "Makes sense. Now come on, let's go back outside. I never got to show you what I wanted."

"Oh? We can still do that?"

"Yeah. Why wouldn't we?"

Prompto hesitated slightly as he stood up. "I uh, I dunno. Thought maybe you were going to be told to do chores by Ignis or something?"

Laughing, Noctis shook his head. "No way would I let him get away with that! We are having fun today and that's all I want to do. Now come on!"

Noctis grabbed onto Prompto, and started to pull him towards the door to lead back outside. The fresh air helped calm down Prompto some more, and he made sure to take in several deep breaths. He wanted to remember everything he could about this, from the beauty of the backyard, to every wondrous smell.

"So, are you ready then?" Noctis asked.

He was taking off his jacket again, and still Prompto had no idea why he was doing it. Was there some magic he needed to do and for some weird reason he needed to not wear a jacket? Was the jacket a magic concealer? Many more questions started to race in his mind, making him all the more curious.

"Yeah ready!" Prompto said, grinning excitedly.

Noctis breathed in slowly, closing his eyes for a moment. He had already taken off his jacket and dropped it off to the side. "Okay yeah. Here goes nothing then… So uh, what I'm about to show you is a secret okay? Only my family and those who work for it know about it."

Prompto raised an eyebrow, not expecting that. The rumors of theories of the Lucis Caelum family came rushing into his head. There was always supposedly something that the family held secret, but what it was, no one knew. It was so tightlipped not even the best reporters could snoop around to find it.

"Okay," Prompto said with a nod. "I'll keep it secret though. I promise."

"I know you would. I trust you. Just, be prepared for a shock, okay?"

Prompto nodded again. "Prepared. I can do that."

With another deep breath, Noctis turned around, having his backside facing Prompto. Now Prompto had never seen Noctis without wearing a jacket. He always wore one at school all the time, but Prompto figured that he was just easily bothered by the weather since it was getting colder out.

The weird thing though about his shirt was that it had two large oval cuts in them, revealing a little of his back underneath. Before Prompto could even begin to podner what it meant, a flash of blue magic sparkled from Noctis's back, spreading out from him. It formed some kind of arching shape on both sides of him, glowing brightly.

The blue magic then faded just as quickly as it came and black remained, and now Prompto could take in the entire picture. Prompto's eyes widened as his mouth dropped wide open. He could feel his tail return, already wagging rapidly.

Black wings were now spreading out from Noctis's back, stretching out slightly, letting some feathers fall loosely to the ground.

"Y-You… You have wings!?" Prompto asked, feeling a surge of new energy wanting to have him ask a million questions.

Noctis chuckled softly. "Yeah, I do. All of the Lucis Caelums do."

"Whoa! Really?! That's so cool! They're really beautiful!"

Noctis turned around, facing forward towards Prompto again. "What?"

Prompto blushed, now mixing his excitement with a small bit of embarrassment. "W-Well you know… you called my ears cute? It's like that! But t-they are just really beautiful. Really elegant and all that!"

"You think so?"

"Dude! I wouldn't lie! That is like, so freaking cool! It makes you look cool! Ah! Cooler I mean!" Prompto said, hoping he wasn't going to end up rambling again.

Stepping closer to him, Noctis gave a small smile. "I'm glad. I'm trusting you with this, okay? No one can know."

Prompto nodded furiously. "Yeah! Totally. I seriously promise that I won't reveal it."

"Good. Cause it took a lot of convincing Ignis that I could trust you."

" 's what the conversation must've been," Prompto's thoughts hummed in the back of his mind. "Ignis must have thought Noctis revealing this was being reckless… it wasn't about me… well not entirely."

"So," Noctis said as he cleared his throat. "This is how I can help you with your fear of heights… if you want to try."

"Huh? How's that going… Oh… OH! You're going to take me flying?!"

"Only if you want to. Thought maybe… if I could take you up there and you could see how it is, it could help you feel less scared? Cause for me… the sky is like a second home. I'm so used to it I never even considered someone could be afraid of height or anything like that."

"I don't know how I'd feel being up there… But I don't wanna pass up a chance like that. To see the world from that high up has to be beautiful, right?"

Noctis smiled, almost looking like he was in a daydream. "It's so wonderful. You can see for miles on end, and when you're up there, it makes you feel like anything is possible with the endless sky right at your fingertips. It's freeing when you aren't restricted to just look up at it, but instead be there with it."

Prompto chuckled. "Whoa, dude I didn't know you could get so deep."

Noctis snorted. "Well I don't try to on a regular basis."

"So you'd really take me up there? I'm not, you know, going to be too heavy for you or anything?"

"Hey, I'm strong," Noctis pouted. "I can do it. I just need you to hold on."

Prompto had to stop talking for the moment and actually let himself think. Too much talking was happening and not enough thinking over the situation. If he did agree, and Noctis did fly him up into the sky, that was going to be rather high. There was no telling if he would start panicking or not, but the idea that he would be with Noctis seemed to make it feel possible.

"I guess we could give it a try. B-But maybe not go as high as the clouds?"

"Sure, we can start just a few feet off the ground. Ready then?" Noctis asked as he stepped right in front of Prompto.

He made sure to take in a few deep breaths before nodding. "Yeah, let's do this."

Noctis waited for a moment before speaking. "Um Prom? I need you to hold onto me, remember?"

"O-Oh right right. So k-kind of like a hug?"

Noctis's cheeks reddened again. "Yeah. A hug. Just wrap your arms around my shoulders."

"But what about my legs? Wouldn't it cause some balance issues if both our legs are dangling?"

"Oh uh… yeah guess so. Uh, I could have you wrap your legs around my… no that wouldn't work. Guess I didn't really think about the whole weight distribution part…"

"There's gotta be a way, right? To make it more balanced?"

"Uhh… well there is one…" Noctis looked away nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. "But it's silly…"

Prompto tilted his head. "What is it?"

"The only other way I can think of is if… I carried you… bridal style."

Now Prompto could feel the heat in his cheeks rising. "S-Seriously? That's all you could think of?"

"It's the only way I know that could probably work. It's stupid… so maybe we should just forget it for now… until we figure something out."

"No! We don't have to wait!" Prompto replied urgently. He wasn't about to let this moment go and possibly never happen again. "We can try it that way."

With deep breaths for both of them now, Prompto put his arms around Noctis's neck, while he positioned one arm around his back and the other under his legs. Slowly, Noctis counted to three and quickly scooped Prompto up into his arms. His breath faulted slightly as he found himself pressed up against Noctis's chest. He had hugged his siblings plenty of times before. Hugging was natural to him, and he loved to give them. But he had never hugged or came this close to Noctis before, and it was making his heart rate skyrocketed.

"A-Are we ready?"

"Ready if you are ready."

"I-I think I'm ready."

"Then let's go. You're about to experience a whole new world, Prom, and I can't wait to show it to you."
