Holding onto Noctis tightly, Prompto watched as his friend flapped those magnificent black wings. Strangely, Prompto started to feel lighter as the two of them started to rise off the ground. His fingers dug into Noctis's shirt as he felt his whole body freeze up when he started to see that they were rising off the ground. It was only a few feet, no higher than if he were standing on a stepstool, but the sight was enough to make him a little nervous.

"Hey, you got this," Noctis whispered. "I'm right here for you, remember? I won't let go."

"Right. You got me. This is okay," Prompto replied in short breaths.

"If you want me to stop I can. But are you ready to try a little higher?"

Prompto let out a soft whimper before he shook his head. He had to at least try to be brave doing this. If Noctis could do it and not be afraid, so could he. He would just have to be strong like him.

"Yeah. I'm ready."

Flapping his wings again, they started to move a few feet higher into the air. Already, Prompto was holding his breath, waiting for the moment where they would go tumbling down… but it never happened. They remained where they were, perfectly fine and far from falling back to the ground.

Prompto took this moment to look around them again, seeing as they were just about at the height of the second floor of the mansion. Already the perspective he was seeing was so much different than when he was on the ground.

"Can… Can we go a little higher?" Prompto asked softly. "I think I'm good for it."

"Sure thing. Let's go a little higher."

Making them go a little higher, Noctis brought them above the height of the mansion. Once again Prompto managed to look out and now he felt a new feeling wash over him. The new perspective that he now had was unlike anything he had ever seen before. The land seemed to stretch out for miles upon miles, showing just how large the forest that surrounded them was.

Prompto refused to look down, knowing how much it would make him fret. Instead he kept his eyes locked on the horizon, taking in the magnificently large view. Even if he could see the horizon line, the sky seemed so much larger and endless than ever before. The euphoric feeling of something new and exciting continued to mix into his mind, letting him soak it up in every single second.

"This is… it's beautiful."

"Yeah, that's part of why I love flying. The view is just breathtaking. Makes it feel like it's a whole other world."

"But um, how come you never do it in public? I mean like, why is it kept such a tight secret that not even the paparazzi know about it?"

Noctis started to fly gently forward, letting them glide through the air with ease. "Dad says years ago people would try to hunt our family down. Something about wanting to cut our wings to sell or something. It was centuries ago though that it happened… Because of that we became the reclusive and mysterious family everyone knows today."

"Oh… I'm sorry. I had no idea. Really… people who hunt supernaturals suck."

Noctis nodded. "Yeah… but hey, within our magic space here, I can fly all I want without the worry someone will see me. No one's ever found their way here."

"And only those in the family or getting invited come here? Like me?"

"Yup, that's pretty much it. So I'm trusting a lot with you, but I know I can."

Prompto felt his cheeks growing warm. "Y-You really trust me that much?"

"Yeah, I do."

"O-Oh, well thank you Noctis. I trust you a lot too."

Letting out a soft laugh, Noctis looked at Prompto as he started to turn around to fly in the opposite direction. "You holding onto any big family secrets then?"

"None really. Not anything like that, just uh… when you talked about people hunting you down and I agreed, I really know how it feels. Remember I mentioned my parents passed?"

Slowly down the flight, Noctis gave Prompto a worried look. No doubt he had already picked up what Prompto was trying to tell him, even if saying it was one of the hardest things for him. He breathed in deeply though, and tried his best to get it out there. If Noctis could talk about his past with hunters, even if it was a distant family, then he could as well.

"Hunters attacked the night that my pack was meeting up with another pack. Some old friendly thing or stuff. But they came and the only thing I can remember is my older brother shouting at me to run. Somehow my siblings and I got away in time… but the rest… our parents…"

"It's okay, you don't have to finish saying it if it's too hard."

"Well I can say I tried at least. But yeah… never really told anyone else that. I don't want to risk telling someone and then hunters show up at my door. My siblings are my pack now, they're all I have."

"I gotcha, and I'll keep it a secret for you. I promise," Noctis said in the most sincere voice he had ever used.

Prompto started to feel the warmth return to his face, this time even reaching his heart. "Thank you, Noct."

"Of course. So… want to see anything else while we're up here?"

"I dunno… I'm enjoying the little flight though. It's good weather for it. You know, nice breeze and stuff."

"Sadly it's not cloudy otherwise I would offer a tour of a cloud."

Prompto snorted. "Tour of a cloud?"

"Ever wonder what a big fluffy cloud is like?"

Now Prompto was laughing loudly. "Dude, my older brother is named Cloud, remember? You keep talking about fluffy clouds and all I can think about him when he is all werewolf floofy."

"Ha! Guess you have a point there. But there's a huge difference between a fluffy werewolf and a fluff puffball in the sky."

"So maybe next time? For finding a fluffy not werewolf cloud?"

Slowly, Noctis started his decent back towards the ground. "Sounds like we have a plan."

As soon as they were back on the ground, and Noctis had set Prompto back on his feet, he tried to take a few steps, making sure the ground was stable beneath him. It only took a few steps before he crashed down to the ground, laying on his back as he stared up at the sky.

"Wow, I can't believe I actually did that."

Noctis flopped down next to him. "You were pretty brave."

"Yeah, when we were just up there chatting you weren't even paying attention to how high I had flown."

Prompto nodded in agreement. "I think talking was a good distraction for me. We'll have to do it again next time."

"I can do that," Noctis nodded.

Letting out a long sigh, Prompto stared up at the clear, blue sky. "So now what?"

"I dunno. We hung out in the treehouse, did our homework, and got to fly. Maybe we could go inside to play some video games?"

"Sure thing, let's go!"

Together they headed inside and this time Prompto was led upstairs, heading down a long hallway. At the end of it, Noctis took the door on the right and Prompto was led into a room that had shelves full of different games from all different gaming systems.

"Whoa dude! This is insane! You got games for the past three decades! Did your dad or someone, collect games when he was younger or did you go hunting for the older ones?"

"Dad actually collected a lot back in the day. I found a lot of them stored in the basement one day and he let me keep them and all the systems too."

"Dude, that is totally awesome! We have so many choices now! Oh wait! Wait a minute! Does this mean you may have the game Daimen's Night 1? For the GameStar?

Noctis walked over to the shelf and pulled one off the shelf, holding it up for Prompto to see. "One of the best classics of the console."

Prompto could already feel his tail was back and wagging like crazy. "Oh em gee! Do you know how rare that game is? Despite its popularity they under-produced from the start leading to poor sales. Then they never made more for whatever stupid reason. No re-release or anything all these years later."

Noctis smiled. "You know your stuff."

"Underrated video game gems are awesome! The story was so amazing. I've watched playthroughs of it so many times."

"Well, wanna play it for yourself?" Noctis said as he held the game box out.

Slowly, Prompto took it into his hands. "Seriously? I can?"

"Of course. Come on, let's go get it set up."

Prompto went to sit on the couch while Noctis set up the correct game console for the tv. Soon enough the two of them had started up the game, and all of the excitement rushed through Prompto as he finally got to start the game and see the cutscenes right before his own eyes. He always knew how different it was to just watch a playthrough versus actually playing it for himself. The experience of getting to do what he wanted was in his hands now, and Noctis was right beside him, chatting about the same intriguing things the game had to offer.

Before long there was a knock on the door and Ignis stepped in. Prompto hit pause on the game and the two younger boys looked over at him.

"Something you need, Ignis?" Noctis asked.

"It's growing late, I believe it's about time that your friend headed home."

"It's late?" Prompto asked as he checked his phone. "Oh… it's after eight. I had no idea how much time had already gone by."

Noctis let out a sigh. "But we were having fun."

"Indeed you were," Ignis replied. "But tonight is not the type of night for an impromptu sleepover. Perhaps another time though. Now say your goodbyes for the night and I will lead Prompto to the car."

He stepped out of the room after that, leaving the two to say their goodbyes alone. Prompto honestly felt a bit sad that it had to end so quickly. The day seemed to have rushed by without warning and so much had happened all within such little time. He wanted more time with Noctis… he wanted to spend more time having fun and playing games, and even go flying with him again.

"So… guess you got to head home," Noctis said as he stood up.

Prompto followed after him. "Guess so… but we can meet up and hangout more, yeah?

"Totally. I'll text you about it tomorrow? Or tonight? Whatever I can figure out."

Moving forward, Prompto hugged Noctis without any warning. He couldn't think of any other way to show his thanks besides it. Saying the words would only mean so much, but he wanted to truly show how happy and thankful he was for the day he had today.

"Can't wait till next time," Prompto said.

"Hey, me too," Noctis replied as he wrapped his arms around Prompto, completing the hug.

Prompto soaked up all of the warmth he felt in the hug, holding on to it until they finally broke away. "Text you later, Noct."

"Yeah, and hey don't forget we got a dungeon run in King's Knight tonight."

"Won't forget it!" Prompto grinned.

He waved goodbye to Noctis as he headed out of the hallway where he met up with Ignis, knowing the day had come to an end now, but it was truly a good end to it.
