Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Goddess and the Rouge. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Genshin Impact, MiHoYo and a few others do.
Balvant didn't like the world he lived in currently. He couldn't blame the people in charge.
But the more he looked at Lumine? The more he saw someone who the people would decry as weak and pray upon them. He kept his mask on, not so much protection for himself… But so, he didn't have to fight someone who he didn't want to battle. It was as much for the protection of the people as him.
"Where are we going?" Lumine questioned as she looked around. "And what are we going to do next?" Lumine asked as innocently as he guessed she would.
Lumine wondered what happened next…. Balvant didn't, he turned back to see her golden eyes gleaming with interest. This world was confusion to her. It made him question if she was of this world once more.
Wasn't like he had any proof to convince people that she wasn't. Balvant could leave his guesses to himself at the moment as he brushed off his jacket with his good hand.
"I don't know to be honest." Balvant stated as he cracked his fingers and then turned to look at Lumine. "I guess we're get a boat and travel the ocean… Not much I can really show you around town that we haven't already seen." Balvant said and looked up to see more rain approaching.
He rather enjoyed the rain. It was something he could enjoy as a child, it made him happy to see the droplets of water raining down on the town from above.
He looked to see Lumine who was quite confused as to what she was seeing. Balvant watched her reach for her sword only for her to grab at her arm. She looked at him with dull eyes… But did nothing as he lowered it from her hip.
"It's rain… It's not going to hurt you." Balvant said as he blinked and looked up to see more rain. He opened his hand as a droplet landed in the palm of his hand.
Lumine blinked and then looked up to see a droplet land on her head. Lumine hummed and then slowly opened her palm and watched a droplet fall into the palm of her hand as well.
Lumine cracked his head to the side and then was greeted by more rain fall into her hands. She tugged her hand from the palm of her hand once more. Lumine cracked a smile and then turned to look to the side.
"What is this rain like?" Lumine questioned to see Balvant continuing to observe the rain.
"Water from the sky…" Balvant said as he hummed and then blinked with amusement. "You haven't seen it before?" Balvant questioned with a raised eyebrow as he hummed and then tapped his hand on his side.
He couldn't understand why the rain was so new to Lumine…. But it did make him smile inside. Lumine seemed to like the rain as much as he did. That made exploring so much more enjoyable when it came down to it.
Then again? That just brought up more questions in the end, questions brought up more answers… And the cycle repeated over and over again while he hummed.
"Do you not have rain from where your from?" Balvant questioned while he walked towards the cliff face. "It's quite enjoyable when you get to see it." Balvant said as he cracked a small smile to himself.
Balvant knew for a fact that the rain would cloak their approach to the harbor. He looked down at the shore which called to the duo. Balvant could only put his hands in his pockets and then dust off his coat.
"No…" Lumine stated to herself as Balvant hummed. "I haven't… It's… Nice." Lumine stated as she blinked and then looked back up at the rain.
It was which continued to pelt them. It amused Balvant that someone who seemed to be a goddess… Didn't understand the rain. It made him chortle inwardly thinking about the idea when he thought about it.
Then again? This issue was not going to be good down the road if she truly didn't know everything that was going to happen.
"We should get down to the docks soon… Also?" Balvant questioned with a raised eyebrow. "Yes, it is… And hopefully it keeps us safe when we get down to the docks. I don't want to try stealing or paying for one when someone can see our faces…" Balvant said as he hummed to himself.
Lumine said nothing which caused him to ponder what the next move was. Running and leaving felt the best when he thought about it.
Balvant turned to look at Lumine who let out a yawn. He didn't know if this girl was a goddess, but she was someone he wanted to protect anyway. Balvant didn't go back on his promises.
