Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Goddess and the Rouge. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Genshin Impact, MiHoYo and a few others do.
Lumine looked at the group with interest. Balvant took a look where her light of sight trailed to. The people who were moving crates were easy to identify the more he looked at them.
"Lu, no." Balvant said, putting a hand on her shoulder. "Those are pirates, you don't want to bother them. They're not all the best people…. Some might even try to kill you." Balvant stated as Lumine turned to look over her shoulder.
"If their evil, why not kill them?" Lumine questioned as she brandished her sword from before. "I could dispatch them easily." Lumine stated which caused Balvant to shake his head.
"Because not all of them are evil." Balvant said while lowering her arm to the ground. "And that isn't going to help much. Pirates are common around here; they control plenty of the oceans… I've met them before, some of them are nice." Balvant said as he hummed to himself.
He knew blasted well Lumine didn't find his words comforting. The look in her eyes told him she wanted to fight the pirates. She wanted to rid the world of them, not understanding that not every single pirate they encountered wasn't monsters.
"Lumine, no." Balvant said while tugging her away. "They aren't worth it. You get rid of them, there will be another group tomorrow." Balvant stated and sighed with annoyance.
Lumine had her heart in the right place from what Balvant could see. However? She was far too eager to get into a fight with people.
And that wasn't going to help anything when it came down to it. You couldn't solve every issue with violence.
"You have fought pirates before?" Lumine questioned as Balvant nodded and crossed his arms. "Did you strike them down with justice?" Lumine asked which caused Balvant to scratch at the back of his head.
There was not really a way he could tell her that he was a lighter shade of black in the world. He was a thief, not many people in the world had a moral code when it came down to it.
"I fought them to protect people if that's what you mean." Balvant said while he looked down at the ground. "I'm a thief, Lumine. We don't exactly all have high moral codes." Balvant added which made Lumine turn to look at him with interest at the moment.
He could only ponder what was coming next. The pirates meant more criminals would be coming to town. That didn't surprise him to begin at the moment. This town was drowning in criminals, he wanted nothing more than to leave it in the dust soon.
He turned to Lumine who was curious as to what to do next. She pondered what to say next.
"Lu, you, ok?" Balvant questioned as Lumine turned to him with curiosity. "Your staring off into space at the moment. Anything you want to say?" Balvant questioned at the moment while humming.
"What did you steal?" Lumine asked as Balvant hummed and shook his head at the moment.
"There's not a really a good way to answer that, Lu." Balvant stated with a cross of his arms. "Not a good way at all, it's hard to explain in the end." Balvant said and sighed from behind his mask.
There was plenty to do at the moment. Plenty to tackle at the moment. Lumine looked far more curious more then anything, it amused Balvant that she was so curious about things.
But if she was THAT naïve about things? Then Balvant had a worry that she wouldn't last long, after all? If she was so unfocused about what was going on around her? Then something sooner or later would eventually gobble her up at the moment.
Still? Things could only improve, they had to improve sooner or later….
Balvant turned to Lumine who was busy thinking about what to do next. Lumine looked at her own sword as Balvant could only ponder what she would decide to do next.
"We should deal with the pirates, still." Lumine said before looking over at the thief. "They look ready to kill that man." Lumine said, pointing a finger at the criminals in question.
Balvant turned to see that several of the pirates were indeed bullying someone, a merchant from what Balvant could see.
He sighed, knowing Lumine had a point. He wouldn't allow them to bully someone who couldn't exactly fight back.
"Fair enough, Lu…" Balvant said and sighed before pulling his daggers out of his belt. "Lead the way, lets see what happens then… Just don't make a habit out of it." Balvant stated and sighed.
He knew this would be one anyway. Fighting always seemed to be part of his life no matter what he tried to do.
Still? Then again? He could only ponder what would come next… If anything? Part of him welcomed it if anything when it came down to it.
