Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Goddess and the Rouge. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Genshin Impact, MiHoYo and a few others do.
Lumine threw one of the pirates into the water before kicking another into the side of a crate. She turned to see both Balvant dealing with a pair of pirates.
"Balvant." Lumine started to say before he suddenly rallied once more.
He knocked one of the pirates back before spinning his daggers, he tossed one of the blades into a pirate before he hummed and flipped over the next pirate. He vaulted off the pirate's arm before he kicked the man in the back of the head and stabbed him in the chest. The pirate collapsed into the water as Balvant grabbed his other pirate collapsed into the water as Balvant grabbed his other knife outside the air.
He cracked his neck and looked at her with interest, being quite curious as to what she expected from a thief like him. He turned to look up at the goddess as he turned to sheath his blades on his hips.
"What? Did you not think these daggers are for more than show?" Balvant asked as he turned to look around once more. "I've dealt with more when it came down to it." Balvant stated which made him raise an eyebrow while he hummed.
Still, he knew better which made him rub at his chin with interest. There was various pains and suffering that this would bring when it comes down to it.
"These pirates are far more interesting than I thought they'd be." Lumine stated which gained a roll of the eye from Balvant as he hummed and cracked his knuckles.
"If they were so powerful? They'd be controlling far more than they are currently." Balvant pointed out as he cracked his fingers. "There will be FAR more pirates on this ship. There will be something worse." Balvant stated as he hummed.
The sound of more pirates approaching made Balvant sigh, annoyed with his own logic being true. He spun his knives, ready to continue this battle which seemed far more vexing than it had any reason to be.
"Your well aware sooner or later there's going to be MORE soldiers showing up…" Balvant pointed out, more curious what she planned to do at the moment. "And here they are. There will be more pirates, more thieves, more bandits…. There's always more." Balvant stated as he leapt over Lumine who deflected a blade from her throat.
She turned and spun the sword, blocking another blade which she batted away, slicing the one pirate and then another. Lumine stabbed her blade through her armpit, stabbing one of the pirates once more as she turned to the side.
More pirates blocked their way, surging forward with plenty of weapons at the duo. Balvant sighed and threw his knives at one of the pirates, nailing him straight in the chest as he turned and drew his guns from his hips.
"I hate when I'm right… Like REALLY hate when I'm right." Balvant stated as he sighed and rubbed at his temples.
He fired a shot right through the first pirate before then shooting another. He shook his head as he placed the weapons on his hips, Balvant leapt forwards, claiming the weapons from the body of the first pirate and then turning to slash the next one across the hip. He kneed one of the pirates in the ribs before a burly one tackled him over the edge, sending the duo plummeting into the water.
"Balvant!" Lumine started to yell before another of the pirates cut her off with an axe which she turned to address.
Lumine could only hum as Balvant headbutted the first pirate and swam to try and get out of the water on time. He grabbed onto part of the dock and slowly began to pull himself out of the water.
"This is the stupidest thing I've ever done when it comes down to it." Balvant stated as he shook his head and gazed in the direction of Lumine who was busy fighting. "I get stuck fighting for some 'goddesses against an army of pirates? Tell me where the irony is in that." Balvant muttered and brought up one of his guns.
He cursed as he realized the weapon was wet and unable to fire, forcing him to drop it before throwing his other gun at the next soldier, anger clearly painting his features as he sighed and shook his head with frustration.
"I swear to the gods I'm going to scream sooner or later." Balvant muttered, drawing his daggers from his belt and rushing back into the fray once more.
He hated this more than anything. And it annoyed him just how persistent these pirates were turning out to be. He could only hope they were stupid when it came down to it. Still? There was plenty more warriors to take out when he thought about it.
