Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Goddess and the Rouge. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Genshin Impact, MiHoYo and a few others do.
Balvant sighed and kicked one of the pirates to the ground before he started to look around. He sighed and started to twirl his daggers around once more. He could only ponder what Lumine was thinking at the moment.
"This is going to be a long time at the moment, there's plenty to do at the moment," Balvant stated while he cracked his fingers before another pirate charged towards him.
He slowly maneuvered around him and stabbed the soldier in the back. He tossed the pirate towards the ground while he shook his head and then spun his daggers between his fingers. He didn't think he'd be here fighting dozens of pirates today, but then again? He also didn't think he'd be meeting Lumine.
The woman threw a pirate over the edge and then locked blades with another pirate. She turned to look at Balvant who was busy thinking about what came next.
"Please tell me we have some form of a plan?" Balvant asked while facing the rest of the pirates, to begin with. "We need to make sure that we have a plan," Balvant said only to get no response. This made him sigh inwardly.
Why did that not surprise him? He felt it shouldn't have when it came down to it, but somehow? It still managed too regardless. Balvant turned to greet more pirates while he cracked his knuckles.
The first pirate he managed to simply throw overboard. No sense in fighting a small army when you could simply throw them into the ocean. The next one managed to lock blades with him before he grabbed the man and stabbed him in the chest before headbutting him backward.
"I believed you had a plan when it came down to it… Did you not?" Lumine questioned, elbowing the pirate backward before she backed upwards to her friend.
Balvant could only mentally roll his eyes. So, there was no plan? Fine, he had improvised to begin with on other plans, no reason he couldn't simply apply the same logic, to begin with when he thought about it.
Balvant hummed and looked at the small army of pirates. The only issue he had about this plan in the end? The fact that Lumine had chosen to attack the biggest pirate vessel she could seem to find.
"How many pirates do you think you can defeat in a minute?" Balvant questioned, eyeing the mast in the middle of the ship.
Lumine was silent a moment, if only because she knew that Balvant had some insane plan to win the longer she thought about it. It made part of her smile to know that Balvant had all the planning that she assured them he'd have when they team up.
"Over a dozen? Why do you ask that question?" Lumine asked before Balvant hummed.
"Because I believe I have a plan if you can clear a path," Balvant stated before he blinked as he closed his eyes.
If they had some way to simply get the ship away from the land? They'd be able to defeat the pirates and possibly capture their ship, though he questioned if Lumine was ok with that victory, to begin with. It was still one of the only plans he could seem to envision.
"Girly, I think you'd best be coming with us." One of the pirates stated while Balvant blinked.
"Please don't tell me you're not stupid enough to try that old trick," Balvant said, rolling his eyes and crossing his arms. "You are smarter than that, aren't you? No, then I'm probably thinking about another group of pirates, ones that know how to do their jobs and win." Balvant added before he charged forward.
Balvant leapt off one of the pirates as Lumine followed, taking the time to kick one of the pirates in the head as she leapt up.
Balvant slashed a rope, tugging the duo upwards towards the upper levels of the ship as the pirates followed. Balvant turned to take a gaze downwards towards the swarm of pirates that seemed to climb after them like insects.
"Do we ascend?" Balvant heard from Lumine as he nodded. "Is this part of your plan?" Lumine questioned while he also nodded.
"Yes, it's part of my stupid, crazy plan I don't know if it's even going to work, to begin with," Balvant stated as they continued climbing up the rigging. "Just don't stop or give them any time to catch you, we need time to try and prepare to fight them," Balvant added, pausing to make sure Lumine was ok at the time.
She trusted him when it came down to it. If he had that trust from her, to begin with? Then he was sure that he could help them to escape. It would only take a few moments for them to escape from this.
