Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Goddess and the Rouge. Enjoy the 2000-word chapter. I don't own Genshin Impact, MiHoYo and a few others do.
If there was anything that bothered Lumine? It was how she seemed to constantly be battling pirates who didn't seem to realize the limitations of their bodies. She kicked one at least halfway across the ship before turning towards Balvant who was battling as many soldiers as possible. There was more time for this to fall apart than possible. She almost didn't realize what the best plan was.
There were plenty of questions when it came down to it. There was time for this to end and it ended as soon as she was able to catch a break.
"Lumine?" Lumine heard from Balvant. "I think the point has been made. They're down and it isn't helping when it comes down to it." Balvant added before he sighed to himself and waited for his friend.
He kicked one of the pirates to the ground before another smashed into him. The bandit sighed to himself with annoyance. If she didn't realize the folly of her actions? She'd end up being rather harmed or worse. He almost wondered why he had let her charge into her so recklessly.
He watched as she seemed to slam a blade through the chest of one of the pirates and parry another. It made her wonder what she was. The way she seemed to dance through battle like some sort of ballerina was not normal. It was as inhuman as anything.
She was rather interested when it came down to it. There were so many plans to consider with this. It almost didn't want to end when it came to it. She was something else at the end of the day. She was interested in this world and yet she seemed like she was from it. There was so little he knew about things and so much he wanted to know about her.
Still? There was time for it to change for the better. He was aware there was no real telling what happened next when they were done and over with. The longer this went on. The less of a chance they had to escape when it came down to it.
He cleared his throat as he started to battle as best, he was able to. There was no real way to handle this. No damned way to do it with this many against them. He pondered why he had let her talk him into this despite any reservations he felt about it. This honestly felt more and more as if it was simply a nightmare, and he hadn't escaped from it.
Yet? If that was the case? Why did it feel so weird and real? He slashed at the many pirates and wondered how well she had been doing to hold them off from bothering her. Her skill seemed rather off and weird when it came down to it.
"How are you this good at fighting?" Balvant asked with a raised eyebrow as he did so. "There's a lot of pirates here and yet I don't see you scared," Balvant stated to which her friend rolled her eyes as she did so.
"There's no reason to be terrified in combat since it doesn't help with the nerves," Lumine stated before she kicked another pirate back. "It's rather interesting in what to do next. These pirates seem to be rather hard to face." Lumine said while she spun her sword in battle.
He cleared his throat before he sighed to himself. These pirates are rather interested in what to do next. There are far too many pirates and yet they hadn't thrown their weight against her.
Both were rather interesting. Both the pirates and their prey. She held her ground while there were far too many to face.
Who in the world was this woman? Where had she come from to come to gain this much power? She was honestly something else if he was, to be honest. Something beyond what he expected at the second and something he wished to see more of if he was to be entirely honest. It was something that had been on the line as of the second. He wanted so badly to understand what to do next when she struck at him. The second he had been given even an inch in combat had been the time she decided to strike at him as hard as possible. She was far more than he expected her to be. The sooner she was able to focus on her enemies the sooner we won this.
Yet, he was going to keep her from doing this again. He didn't want her to be dead before he could ask her questions like what the hell had made her this way at the time. She certainly wasn't human from the way she seemed to move through the enemy as if they didn't exist. They terrified him if it was honest. The type of power she seemed to command was beyond what anyone seemed to control.
'She's not at all normal when it comes to this sort of thing. She's got the power I hadn't seen before around here. Either she was holding back, or she was honestly trying too much to get good at hiding it. I don't know what the hell she is, but I do know it's not at all normal if I'm to be 100 percent to myself now.' Balvant stated.
It was not to last if he was, to be honest. This assault was not to last sooner or later. They'd be overwhelmed in combat, and it'd be only a matter of time before they were slowly cut down by the might of these pirates and left to whatever mercy they held in their bodies which were probably to be none. It hadn't exactly been the most interesting topic when it came down to it. The sooner they escape meant the sooner that they were to be able to enjoy themselves here.
"These soldiers do not hold the same power I expected them to have. I expected more. A lot more at the second." Lumine stated before she started to ponder how to best overcome these enemies in her path. "Are all pirates this bad at combat? I don't remember the few I fought to be very good at their jobs when it came down to it." Lumine stated before she started to slice through them like a sickle into a wheat field.
"Pirates aren't soldiers, their raiders," Balvant stated while he kicked one of the pirates to the side. "This isn't as fun when it came down to it," Balvant stated before he sighed to himself.
She wasn't going to back down from challenging the entire pirate fleet at this rate. He honestly didn't know whether she was insane or simply cocky. She was good, but she couldn't possibly hope to beat that many pirates in a real fight, did she?
"Where the hell did, she come from?" Balvant questioned before another pirate tried to charge him. "What happens if we win anyway? The pirates are going to flip if they realize that one of their ships is missing and aren't going to simply let someone sail away with it." Balvant stated as he rolled to the side.
"Plotting aloud?" Lumine asked as she kicked one of the pirates backward towards the edge of the ship. "There will be more battles after this. There is always another battle in life. Even survival is battling to see who doesn't make it out of slumber." Lumine said with a wry smile.
Balvant only rolled his eyes. This girl was something else, she was honestly something else when it came to combat. He'd have to ask questions if they survived this. She seemed to back up her earlier claims that she had made if only to a degree.
"Yep. She's insane. Entirely insane to a degree. No other way to say it. She's off her mind if she thinks this will be a good battle in any way shape or form at the time." Balvant stated before he cracked his knuckles.
"I am not mentally unsound. We can beat the pirates if we try hard enough. You have felled worse, no?" Riku questioned to which Riku seemed to nod.
"Yes, but not against that many pirates at the second," Balvant stated before he spun his blades. "This will be a lot harder to do. There are far too many pirates here to simply defeat with brute force." Balvant stated before he seemed to question what to say or do next.
There was going to be interesting when she considered it. This had to end sooner or later. She had been a lot harder on herself than anyone else had been. Honestly? He expected more, a lot more than this had been at the moment and more than he had wished it to be. This wasn't going to end well, nor did he expect it to end at all given how fast they were going and how much they had been crammed into the corner by this.
Lumine elbowed one of the pirates which sent them sprawling across half of the ship. She felt her feet leave the air as she flipped over one of the pirates and flew into the air before gazing down at the rest of the men in front of her.
She glanced a look over at Balvant who stared up into the sky at her. He looked as if he was shocked more than anything that she had done this.
'Now she can fly? Damn, I'm starting to think she is a god. She acts like one anyway.' Balvant stated mentally as he pondered what their options were.
If they ran? They'd find and hunt them down, probably string them up on top of some sort of rigging or something. It'd be madness to try and escape them, madness to try and appease them with some sort of riches if they even cared. He questioned more than anything if there was to be any real hope of stopping them.
"There are too many pirates and yet we had to go fight them. I couldn't go try fishing or something, no, it had to be pirates. I hate today if I'm being honest." Balvant stated as he sighed and dodged a sword that almost grazed his cheek.
He'd give them one thing. They were persistent and determined to kill them before this ended. It made him want to scream. The more they battled these bloodthirsty savages, but it'd be more than enough for him to back down. He had far too much when it came down to it.
Balvant could only sigh and roll his eyes, lashing out at the rest of the army. One of them pulled out a pistol and raised a weapon at her. She had become far too willing to back down. There was more at the second, more on his plate, and more of them ready to brawl with her.
"Balvant, I think it's time we leave and head out of here." Balvant heard before he seemed to glance around. "There will be more pirates and we need to get out of here. I suggest a tactical retreat before they send more reinforcements to our location at the moment." Lumine stated as she seemed to dart around.
He was going to be amused if they survived this at the time. he was honestly going to scream as of the second when it came down to it. Lumine was either insane or she was one of the best warriors that had graced the lands. He refused to believe she wasn't given the courage and skill she showed so far. That meant she was still going to be a powerful threat to the rest of the planet. It didn't surprise him that much, but it was still shocking as of the second.
She sighed to herself, flicking her blade before humming as of the second.
She and he started to question as he dragged her off the ship.
