hello, all. so I apologize for the absence of any new chapters (school is a bitch, I hate her), but I have been thinking about what might come next here in my Primid girl's story. I had just finished my research on Primids and was motivated to continue on. enjoy!
"I would love to thank you all for coming on such short notice," Master Hand explained as his pinky finger twitched and his palms were sweating underneath.
Among the Smash Veterans, Mario took a short glance at the Hand God's pinky finger and noticed a band-aid with blood seeping through the seams.
He refocused his attention to the leader and asked, "what happened, Sir?"
Master Hand let his finger go limp and sat himself down on top of the desk and said, "I slammed my pinky in the car door while I was opening it for Allison as she returned home from her volunteering service. Anyway, thank you all for coming when it was urgent."
He swiftly moved himself to the shelves beside his desk and casually opened the drawers, rummaging through some things and then pulled them out in one pile. Master Hand proceeded to place them on the table.
Mario, including the rest of the Smash Veterans, were padding up to see these "papers", causing their faces to contort on horrid shock.
The red plumber cleared his throat while Ness and Jigglypuff behind him were shielding themselves away from the horrifying scenes. Each page sprawled on Master Hand's desk was... the evidence given to him regarding Ponny's constant mistreatment by the Brawlers.
Luigi walked up to the edge of the desk and looked up at the master. "What is all of this?" He asked, holding onto his red brother's shoulder.
"Proof," Master Hand replied. "These were handed in to me by the Ultimate fighters. Each page I looked at I couldn't help but express my growing concern as to how bad things could get."
He sat palm down on the desk again and sighed, while also secretly harboring intense feelings of anger and disappointment at this ongoing predicament.
"I have also been notified that Dr. Mario would be putting the Brawl fighters to sleep if this continues. We don't allow cruel and unusual punishments here in the Smash Kingdom, but..."
Master Hand then proceeded to place the papers back into the drawers and closed them gently to avoid destroying the manufactured shelf.
"If you Veterans would like to do some investigating and help resolve this issue, I would gladly appreciate it," he instructed, his entire body turning ghostly white. Unfortunately that wasn't a good thing to tell a Smash Veteran, since Fox angrily stormed up from the back of the small crowd and opened his mouth to speak.
"I'm sorry... 'investigating?'" The Cornerian snapped. "Investigating!?"
The rest of the other Veterans all stepped back in fear of their fox friend exploding in a bout of anger and rebellion, while one of them rolled their eyes and said, "here we go again."
"Are you even doing your job, Master Hand!?" Fox barked aggressively, his fangs exposed. "Why is an authority figure like you making Smash fighters like us solve a problem for you guys when YOU HAD AN ABLE POSSIBILITY TO DO SO IN THE FIRST PLACE!?"
"Fox, I understand your concern, but--"
"NO YOU FREAKING DON'T. The ONLY time you cared was when the Brawl fighters actually did do something and YOU were there to see it. At any other time, IT WASN'T WORTH DEALING WITH. PLEASE EXPLAIN."
"Fox, please calm down," Samus said as she placed a gentle hand on her friend's shoulder before he shrugged it off, "it'll be okay. We'll fix this in no time."
The Cornerian Fox's eye pupils began to dilate as his lips had been pulled back to reveal an angry set of fangs, as well as his tail thrashing uncomfortably behind him. Mario stepped back in fear while holding onto his brother, who witnessed his own friend about to have a full fledged meltdown.
Every Smash Veteran saw Fox in his completely angry state, which shows that he simply has had enough.
"No. It will NOT BE OKAY!! You people have said the EXACT SAME THING, no matter how many times people reported to you about a harassment happening! Mrs. Skull, Principal Madeira, and now YOU, Master Hand, have said the same thing over and over and over! WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING THIS WHOLE TIME - WATCHING AS PONNY SUFFERS HORRIBLY!?
How lazy do you have to be to ask us to solve your problems for you!? Do you even care about her? In fact, do you even care about us at all!?"
Master Hand stood back as Fox finished his angry tirade, his body standing still as if he were frozen. The other Veterans looked on with scared shock as they turned their attention towards the Hand God to see what he'll do next.
Before long, he simply clicked his fingers against the wooden desk and then said, "leave the office. Now."
Fox's face settled into a disappointed expression as he looked up at Master Hand and sighed deeply. "Look, sir. I--"
"LEAVE. NOW," the Hand spoke again, but loudly and with much attitude that it struck fear into anyone who heard, even Dharkon himself. The Smash Veterans all departed out of the office with devastated expression, including Fox himself.
As they ventured out to the hallway to their pods, Fox was stopped by Mario slamming a hand down onto his shoulder.
"What the hell is your problem back there, man?" The red hero hissed, his mustache furrowing. "You had to raise your voice at our father like that!?"
"Oh, I'm not supposed to express my downright annoyance for the authority figures allowing bullying here in Smash Kingdom, but they can watch a fighter suffer and not get a slap on the wrist for it!?" Fox snapped back as he pulled himself away from Mario's grasp.
The Veteran continued to walk on with the rest of the group and ignored the red plumber completely until he opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. Silently he bawled his hands up into fists in a fit of rage.
He felt himself emanating fire deep with his palms, as Luigi looked down and took notice of his brother's hands shining furious embers.
"M-Mario, calm down," the green understudy said as his brother continued to form a fireball from behind the rest of the Veterans. "We don't want to repeat like last time!"
All of a sudden the red plumber simmered down a bit as he let his arms down and the fireball wistfully went away in a spark of ash. Mario sighed and said, "alright, but I won't let Fox off with a simple warning. He almost got us all killed."
Luigi shrugged his shoulders quizzically and said, "I don't think being turned into a trophy would signify death. It's more like being frozen."
Mario simply let out a "hmpf" and walked on with the other Veterans, completely ignoring Fox.
Stupid furry he thought darkly as they stopped at the Pod and entered automatically.
Meanwhile with Master Hand, he was fiddling around with a pen that he found underneath his desk. The entire visit with the Veterans had slowly dissipated into a big argument between him and the resident Cornerian, who always had something to say.
Clicking it furiously he also twitched his pinky finger in hopes it would heal faster. Before he went completely apathetic and stopped caring, Master Hand froze in place and started thinking.
Fox might be right he thought to himself.
Did I really put the burden of solving problems on the shoulders of someone else who could do a better job than me?
He stopped clicking his pen and sat down on the desk and looked at the office door with anxious intent. The inner nerves of his body had shifted into images of the past, in which he remembered his beliefs well.
I always thought it would all be solved by simply working it out, but I guess I was wrong.
