Principal Madeira's office was beginning to be flooded with the Smash Veterans as they were called to be present with the white fighting Alloy, who was currently wearing a black cap with a red brim and looked apprehensively at the first set of the Original 12, his hand clenched into a fist on the desk while the other had a cup of coffee in it, grasping onto it as if his life depended on it.

Madeira cleared his throat and then finally spoke. "I apologize for calling you guys on such short notice," he said as he took a short sip of his coffee.

"You see, the annual Smash Dance is coming up and we need some nominees for the award at the end."

"What kind of award?" Luigi asked from behind Mario.

"The Smash King and Queen," the white Alloy principal replied, ruffling the small hair tuft above his face, "and I only need a small handful of you Smash Veterans to take part in the security detail."

Opening up his drawer underneath his desk, Madeira ruffled through some items and then pulled out what looked like a map. Sprawling it across the desk, the white fighting Alloy allowed the rest of the Smash Veterans to examine every nook and cranny of its contents.

Principal Madeira pointed to every entrance that was being represented on a perfectly drawn map of the Smash Academy gymnasium, crafted perfectly thanks to the artistic talent of Crazy Hand.

"To prevent an accident from happening like last time a small group of Smash Veterans will be set here for the security detail," he explained. "I have assigned Mario, Kirby, and Link here at the front gate.

Captain Falcon, Ness, and Samus will be placed at the back door of the Gym. Fox, Yoshi, and Donkey Kong will be placed at the back of the room, while also scouting the concession stand."

Madeira pointed at several locations on the map while also using a red marker and circling places in which he would assign the Smash Veterans. Mario studied the map and looked up at the Alloy Principal, who was digging through a closet in his office for something.

"I might still have these from a few years ago," he told himself as he began to pull some items out. What he pulled out from the closet were 12 shirts that were pink and had white letters that said "not a smash veteran" on the center of them in bold font.

"Since you will be on security, you guys get to wear these!" Madeira handed them individually while also indicating his excited expression with his Alloy eyeball turning into an upward crescent moon.

Mario, Luigi, and Link examined their shirts carefully as the rest of the Smash Veterans were looking confused. "Are these the same shirts from a few years ago?" Fox asked, his eyebrows furrowing quizzically.

"Calm yourself, McCloud. I just washed those this morning," Madeira answered, ruffling his necktie and closing the closet back up. The white Alloy then swiveled his chair back to where his desk is and then pulled out another piece of paper.

Madeira handed them to the Smash Veterans and said, "here's the schedule. If you can't make it, make sure to tell me right away."

The Original 12 nodded silently in agreement and then were filed out of out of the office. Before long, Principal Madeira had been almost tempted into wanting to request another visit from a different set of Smash fighters, but talking with the Smash Veterans is enough.

The white fighting Alloy slumped back into his chair as he swept away any remaining sweat from his forehead, despite his face being composed of only a simple wide opening with a crystal white/blue core.

I always fear the worst when it comes to these events he thought to himself deeply. I always fear what will happen, like last time.

The Smash Veterans made their way down the hallway of the Academy after their awkward conversation with the Principal himself about their security job. Mario, turning the shirt over and examining it, pursed his lips in doubt as he looked over at the others.

The unaffected emotions displayed by his fellow Veterans were something uncommon for the red plumber, but he went along with it anyway.

The silence of the halls was a familiar sound for the rest of the minute until as they walked further, Mario heard whispers and giggles coming from three fighters walking past them. He looked up attentively, realizing who those noises belonged to.

His face scrunched in disgust, Mario found that the giggles came from three of the Brawl fighters Wolf, Olimar, and Pit.

Few hours after their discussion with Principal Madeira about their security detail at the annual Smash Dance, Mario had already been suspicious as to why the white fighting Alloy had been worried and always talked about the incident that happened years ago.

The red plumber, keeping his ears peeled for any red flags in their conversation, had been shocked to learn about what the Brawl fighters' plans were.

"So that annual Smash Dance is coming up!" Wolf sneered. "You know what that means?"

"That little Ponny is going to be there?" Olimar asked apprehensively, "please! If there is any chance she'll come-"

"That's not what I'm implying." Wolf nudged Pit, which signified for him to show off something. The angel lifted up an empty bucket and jiggled it a little by the handle, chuckling mischievously.

"This is going to be good!" He howled happily.

As they walked off with their laughter echoing throughout the halls, Ness from behind the group stepped out in front and charged up his PK fire, but not without Luigi dragging his arm down and holding him back.

"Ness sweetie, don't do something you'll regret later," the green understudy said, his mustache quivering fearfully. The young boy simmered down as he walked back to where he once was in the group with Mario finally saying, "leave them be. We're the security in the Dance, so we'll keep each other posted."
