Chapter 6

The next few days were filled with lots of mini pranks, (Bex), hacking, (Liz), and sitting outside on the porch, (Pretty much everyone else). It was a peaceful way to spend their "vacation" of sorts, the calm before the storm of boys took over. Cammie and Macey were sitting outside on the newly discovered Adirondack chairs, watching their classmates practice fight moves in the dirt and grass outside.

"Macey, from what we know about our targets, how easy do you think it'll be to get to know them?" Cammie asked, turning her head in the warm sunshine to look at Macey.

"Honestly Cam, I think it's gonna be one of the easiest missions we've done. The only hard thing will be keeping all of them away with a stick," Macey laughed, pushing her hand through her hair. "I wouldn't worry too much, it's not like we have to gather intel on them. I think we just have to go to school like normal, but without the rest of our sisters. I'm sure the curriculum is nearly the same as ours, so we shouldn't have a problem with tests."

"That's true, I guess I'm nervous because of Josh. You know how that event turned out. And now we're going to an all boys school. I just can't help but think it could happen again," Cammie said worryingly, rubbing her forehead.

"Cammie, it's not going too. You're going to be fine. These guys are all highly trained and would never make the same mistakes Josh did," Macey said in response. "And you're smarter now. You won't make the same mistakes either. You've come so far from freshman year. You're going to be fine," Macey said again, touching Cammie's shoulder reassuringly.

"Okay, fine, I believe you," Cammie said. As she was talking, she spotted something in the distance. "Mace, I think that Soloman got the orders for our clothes in."

"What makes you think that?" Macey asked, looking in the same direction Cammie was. "Oh. Now I see it."

A moving truck was headed into the clearing with the cabin. The girls could spy Soloman in the front seat, skillfully maneuvering the truck around the girls. He honked once, as if they couldn't already see him. He jumped down from the cab of the truck and waved the girls over. While the girls huddled around, the truck sprang open and workers began to unload the dozens of boxes from the truck into the cabin.

"Ladies, I've brought you your clothing orders, and a special treat while you spend your last day at the cabin before the exchange. Please use this last day to complete your packing process and prepare yourselves for your semester at Blackthorne. This will not be a normal semester. My one piece of advice to you ladies, is to watch out for each other. Do not let people come between you and your sisterhood. I'll see you all at Blackthorne tomorrow night. Good afternoon," he said, and walked back to the now empty truck. He gave a slight nod and drove away.

"Well, you can't say you missed his quick speeches," Cammie said, and laughed along with the others. "Let's go inside and start unpacking all these boxes. I have a slight suspicion that this is gonna take us awhile to sort through everything."

The following eight hours of unpacking and sorting were accompanied with Macey blasting various songs on her speaker, multiple furniture units being moved to make more space, and clothes being tossed around to their owners. It was nearing almost four int he morning, and the girls were starting to get delirious. Most of the suitcases had been packed, with their tags on, and sat by the door waiting to be taken out. The only boxes left contained Macey's surprise, and those sat on the kitchen counter untouched. When Tina finally put her last suitcase by the door, a cheer was let out by the girls. They sat on the floor among the plastic bags and receipts leftover from the clothes shopping, eating an impromptu breakfast of sugary cereal and fruit.

"Guys, I can't begin to describe how excited I am to go on this adventure with you," Bex said, trying and failing to stay awake.

"Me too, I'm so ready to get away from Gallagher for a few months, but I will miss Chef's cooking and my mom," Cammie replied, resting her head on Bex's shoulder.

"Should we all just sleep down here tonight?" Macey asked. "I'm so tired I don't think I could walk all the way up the stairs," she yawned, stretching her arms.

"I think we should," Liz said sleepily, looking around the living room at the half-asleep girls. "But first, Macey, do you want to hand out the surprises you ordered? I know you were waiting until the right time, and I think it's perfect now while we're all still together," Liz said, turning her head to look at Macey.

"Why not," Macey said, and sat up to go get the boxes. "I got these to remind us that even when a boy might separate us, we will always be united at heart. If the sizing is off, tell me, because I ordered extra."

Cammie was first to receive hers, and opened the small blue tulle bag to reveal a dainty ring, engraved with the Gallagher crest and her first initial. She saw similar looks of awe around the room, and put the ring on her ring finger of course.

"Macey, these look incredible," Cammie said, admiring how the silver ring reflected in the lights. "Thank you so much," she said, and got up to hug her.

Macey hugged her back and glanced at the other girls, who also came up to hug her. They all thanked her and said they would never take them off.

"Good, because they're made a flexible metal that will move when you do, and it water-resistant, so the metal won't corrode or turn your skin green. Only the best for my girls," she smiled, and winked at them.

"Now can we please go to bed?" Bex asked. "I can barely see two feet in front of me clearly."

"Yes Bexy," Cammie answered, and the girls retired to their rooms.

Until the alarms rang of course, signaling the start of their new year and Blackthorne, and the heavily thought out entrance plan.
