30 Worlds: Royal Megaforce, Episode FINAL:

"Masters of the Ultimate Power"

BOOK ONE*CHAPTER THREE

Aboard Dimensional Defense Vessel Enterprise SAV-1701-A

King William and Queen Sofia's Guest Quarters

William looked at Sofia, the other Rangers and Princess Elena of Avalor. "Why are we here, William?" Mal said. "We have to wait until the last important member of our team gets here before we can begin this meeting," William said. "But..." Mal started.

She was interrupted by a loud wheezing and whirring. William smiled when he saw Gavan's Glory II in the form of The Doctor's TARDIS appear. The doors opened, revealing Phineas. As Phineas exited, William thought, "Gavan's Glory II, proceed as Captain Burnham suggested then head over to the Tempest. We'll join you shortly."

Gavan's Glory II disappeared once more as Phineas sat down. "Everyone, I just had a conversation with now-Captain Burnham of the USS Discovery," William said. "She informed me that we may have destroyed a crucial piece of the puzzle of defeating the A.I.C."

"What do you mean?" Sofia said. "Captain Burnham informed me that, unbeknownst to me at the time, the original Enterprise was a testbed for several important technologies that we needed to defeat the A.I.C.," William explained.

"But we destroyed the Enterprise in the World of Descendants," Zenon said. "Here's the thing," William said. "We need to go back in time to retrieve the Enterprise."

"But, King William, didn't Yen Sid tell you not to change history when traveling back in time?" Lennier said. "If the original Enterprise is not destroyed, we won't have the impetus we need to go after the Ambassador."

"There is a way," William said. "Here's what Captain Burnham suggested. At this very moment, Gavan's Glory II is heading back to the World of Descendants at around the time The Twelfth Doctor is leading the evacuation effort prior to Phineas, Zenon and Mal arming the original Enterprise's self-destruct."

"Then, at around T-1 minute until self-destruct, after all personnel and cargo have been loaded onto the TARDIS and departed, Gavan's Glory II will duplicate the original Enterprise and place it in a pocket universe similar to Gallifreyian stasis cubes, trapping the original original Enterprise at around the 1 minute until detonation mark and leaving the duplicate original Enterprise to self-destruct, preserving history," William continued.

"Then, as soon as the TARDIS begins the trip to Skaro in order to retrieve the Ambassador, Gavan's Glory II will deposit myself, Phineas, Zenon and Mal onto the original Enterprise to cancel the self-destruct and activate the prototype systems," William said. "That is why only Phineas, Zenon, Mal and I will need to be on the away team for this mission."

William held up his hand, sensing that the other people in the room were preparing to protest William's decision. "In discussing this situation with Captain Burnham, I determined that, in order to minimize any potential damage to the timeline, only the bare minimum number of away team members should be present for the mission," William said.

William held up four fingers. "One through three: Phineas, Zenon and Mal must be there to deactivate the self-destruct as the people who enabled the self-destruct must be the ones to deactivate it," he said, tucking three fingers into his fist. "And finally, myself to enable the prototype systems as a member of the Cinnabar royal family."

William turned to Elena. "Elena, I will need you to take command until we return," William said. "Of course, William," Elena said.

William then looked at Sofia. "Sofia my love, I need you to stay here on the Enterprise as well," William said. "But..." Sofia started. William gave Sofia a look that Sofia knew all too well. "All right," Sofia said. "Zee, Mal, Phineas. Meet me at the Tempest in thirty minutes. Dismissed," William said.

William followed the senior officers and Zenon out of his and Sofia's quarters. As soon as the doors slid shut behind them, Sofia picked up an empty glass vase and threw it against the wall in anger. The vase shattered upon hitting the wall.

Clover hopped into the living area after hearing the glass breaking. "Sofia, what's wrong?" Clover said, looking at Sofia with a concerned glance.

"William is being such a bosh'tet!" Sofia said as she moved to clean up the remains of the vase. "He knows damn well he needs me to go with him!"

Clover nodded, as he had been (unbeknownst to William or the others) listening in on the discussion about Burnham's information. "Sofia, I have an idea. Why not have Rose sneak you onto the Tempest somehow?" he said.

Suddenly, Sofia had an idea. "Gavan's Glory II, this is Grand Pioneer. Can you detect my thoughts?" Sofia thought. "I can indeed, Grand Pioneer," Gavan's Glory II responded.

"Is there a way you can transport me to..." Sofia started to think before suddenly finding herself in Gavan's Glory II's control chamber. "I just did," Gavan's Glory II said in Sofia's mind. "Even while you were talking to Clover, I could sense that you desperately wanted to go on this mission despite Grand Shield not wanting you to."

"Thank you," Sofia responded. "It is my pleasure," Gavan's Glory II thought. "This might even give you an opportunity to resolve that little problem you and Grand Shield have in regards to the A.I.C. Just remember The Doctor's wife, and you will be all right."

As soon as Gavan's Glory II exited Sofia's thoughts, Sofia cocked an eyebrow. Still thinking about the implications, Sofia went to hide in a nearby room.

A few moments earlier, William led Mal, Phineas and Zenon onto the Tempest. A blond-haired woman in an Andromeda Initiative uniform awaited them. "King William, Princess Consort Mal, High Commander Flynn, Ensign Kar, welcome aboard the Tempest," the woman said. "I am Cora Harper, Pathfinder Ryder's second-in-command."

William shook Harper's outstretched hand. "Thank you for the kind welcome, Ms. Harper," William said. "Can you show us to where Gavan's Glory II is?" "Of course, Your Majesty," Cora said. "This way, please."

Cora led William, Mal, Phineas and Zenon out of the airlock and down to the Tempest's cargo bay/hangar deck, where William smiled when he saw Gavan's Glory II in the form he was used to seeing it in.

"Open 'er up," William thought. The "embarkation hatch" hissed open, revealing the control chamber. William shook his head as he realized something was off. "You can come out now, Sofia," William thought.

Sofia walked into the control chamber, a sheepish grin on her face. "I had a sneaking suspicion that you weren't gonna listen to me," William said. "Sorry, William, but you need me," Sofia said. "For example, what do you know of a woman named River Song?"

William knew of Song, of course: the legendary chrono-archeologist and one-time wife of The Doctor in their 11th and 12th forms.

"Why did you ask me about River Song?" William asked. "You also know of who River Song truly is, right?" Sofia asked.

William cocked an eyebrow. Then, it clicked. He had read that River Song was, in actuality, a woman whose real name was Melody Pond, the daughter of Amy Pond and Rory Williams, former companions of the 11th Doctor.

"A short time ago, I was presented with some information about the Grand Key," Sofia said. "Like River Song, the Grand Key—our child—needs to be conceived on a TARDIS in flight through the Time Vortex."

"But we don't have all 30 worlds' Key components yet!" William said. "That is why before we travel back to the World of Descendants to retrieve the original Enterprise, we must retrieve the remaining components."

"All right, Sofia. Where is the first one?" William said. "On a planet called Kobol in the Unaligned World of Battlestar Galactica 1978," Sofia said. William exited Gavan's Glory II and made his way to the Nexus' command center.

Once there, William entered Director Tann's office. "King William, do you require something?" Tann asked.

"Yes, I do, Director," William said. "I will need to borrow the Tempest." "For what purpose?" Tann asked.

And so William explained the mission he intended to use the Tempest for. "I will leave the rest of the Armada here to assist the Initiative in defensive and exploratory operations as you and the other Pathfinders deem appropriate," William said. "But for the mission I and my strike team are about to go on, the Tempest's unique systems are most essential."

"Of course, Your Majesty," Tann said. "Just please take care of yourselves." "If you need anything of the Armada, contact Crown Princess Elena of Avalor aboard DDV Enterprise," William said. "I have placed her in command of the Armada during my absence."

"Good luck on your mission," Tann said. William smiled, nodded, then left Tann's office.

"Will you be needing quarters on the Tempest, Your Majesty?" Cora asked as William walked back onto the Tempest. "No thank you, Miss Harper," William said. "Gavan's Glory II has all of the resources and services we will need for our mission."

He then added, "But if we do anything, we will be sure to let you or Pathfinder Ryder know." William shook Harper's hand once more before stepping back onto Gavan's Glory II.

In the control room on Gavan's Glory II, William smiled when he saw Sofia, Phineas, Mal and Zenon at the central control pedestal.

"Status report, Sofia," William said. "All systems read as nominal, William," Sofia said. "Our systems are hooked into those of the Tempest so that when we enable our dimensional deviator, the Tempest will be taken with us."

"Good," William said. "Gavan's Glory II to Tempest. Pathfinder Ryder, are you ready to begin?" "Affirmative," Ryder said. "Then let's get underway," William said. "Gavan's Glory II, set course for the Unaligned World of Battlestar Galactica 1978. Spatial coordinates: the tomb of the Ninth Lord of Kobol on planet Kobol. Proceed whenever you are ready."

The familiar wheezing and whirring of a TARDIS engine system made Willian's heart race with anticipation as to the adventure that was about to begin.
