BOOK THREE*CHAPTER TWO

Unaligned World of Mission: Impossible

Aboard TARDIS Designated Gavan's Glory II

Landed somewhere outside Seattle, Washington

William stood in one of the ship's transporter rooms and watched as Jane and Luther resolved from the transporter beam.

"Your Majesty, could you please ask Luther to stop calling me 'Fairy Goddaughter?'" Jane asked. "It's just a term of endearment," Luther said.

Jane shook her head. "It's not that," Jane said. "It's just that Carlos has called me that ever since we were back at Auradon Prep, Luther."

"Oh, sorry about stealing your boyfriend's nickname for you. How about this: I can find you something else to call you," Luther said. "Deal," Jane said before extending her hand. Luther shook it.

William smiled at Luther and Jane. "Get back to your quarters and rest up," William said. "We've got a lot to do in this world." Luther and Jane nodded at William before leaving the transporter room.

William then made his way back to the control room and saw Sofia standing at the telepathic controls while Mal, Phineas and Zenon were performing diagnostic checks on their stations. "Status report, everyone," William said.

"All telepathic systems nominal," Sofia said. One by one, Phineas, Mal and Zenon reported the same. Then, a beeping erupted from the panel Zenon stood at. "William, incoming communication from Scarlett Army transceiver Hiroshima-55-Silver," Zenon said.

William made his way to a nearby monitor and sat down in front of it. As he put a private listening earpiece in his ear, William turned to Zenon. "Put Agent Morimoto through over here, Zee," William said.

A Japanese man with his black hair tied in a ponytail appeared on William's display. "Your Majesty, this is Operative-at-Large Masaharu Morimoto, calling to report mission progress on my investigation of the Syndicate situation," the man said in Japanese.

"Go ahead, Morimoto-san," William said. "And feel free to speak in English. The systems on Gavan's Glory II are encrypting your transmission."

Scarlett Army Operative-at-Large Masaharu Morimoto smiled at William. "As you wish, Your Majesty," he said. "I have been keeping an eye on any Syndicate traffic that might be indicative of an alliance with or membership in the A.I.C."

"And what have you discovered?" William asked. "It's bad. Very bad," Morimoto said. "This evening, at my restaurant, a group of three individuals walked in. As I was preparing their food, I overheard part of a discussion between the three. While I did not hear the entire conversation, I did pick up names like 'Gabriel Lorca,' 'Rita Repulsa,' and..."

William knew the first two names. It had come to William's attention (thanks to Michael Bunham) that Gabriel Lorca, who was in command of the USS Discovery at the time of its assisting the Enterprise in the World of Elena of Avalor, had been replaced by a duplicate from the so-called "mirror universe" even before he had become the Discovery's captain.

Rita Repulsa was another familiar name, as William had fought against Rita in the Unaligned World of Power Rangers 2017. As he thought about Lorca and Rita, William noticed that Morimoto had trailed off while listing the names he had overheard the mysterious people mentioning at his restaurant. "And...who?" William asked.

"'Xur,'" Morimoto said. William gasped, then gestured for Sofia, Mal, Phineas and Zenon to join him at the display. As they did so, William removed his earpiece and looked at Morimoto. "Morimoto-san, please repeat for Queen Sofia, Ensign Kar, Lady Mal and High Commander Flynn what you just told me," William said.

"Yes, sir," Morimoto said. And so, Moimoto repeated the story about the three suspicious people in his restaurant and the names they mentioned...including Xur, the Great Leader of the Army of Inter-Universal Chaos.

"Are you saying Xur is here in the Unaligned World of Mission: Impossible?" Phineas asked. "Not necessarily, High Commander," Morimoto said. "They could simply have been talking about your previous defeat of Rita Repulsa, the discovery of the Mirror Lorca and the plans Xur may have for this world."

"But we cannot afford to take any chances, Morimoto-san. Stand by for transport to Gavan's Glory II on my next signal," William said. "King William, out."

As the monitor deactivated, William opened his mental link to the computer of Gavan's Glory II. "Gavan's Glory II, prepare to enter siege mode as soon as Operative-at-Large Morimoto is aboard," William ordered. "Affirmative, Grand Shield," the voice of the computer responded in his mind.

"King's Hand operatives, report to the control room on the double," William called out. "We have a big problem."

As William briefed the King's Hand on what Moimoto had told him, Morimoto was putting on his Scarlett Army uniform. As he put on his Scarlett Army wrist communicator, Ethan was approaching Morimoto's restaurant to meet up with the members of his IMF team.

Ethan watched, stunned, as Morimoto tapped a button on the communicator and dissolved in blue and silver light. For the second time that evening, Ethan remembered what he had learned of the Scarlett Army from Luther and from his IMF briefing on the possible ties between the Syndicate and the A.I.C.

Ethan looked on as the last atoms of one of the greatest chefs in the world disappeared from his sight. It slowly dawned on Ethan that Masaharu Morimoto was a member of the Scarlett Army. Ethan pulled out his cell phone and dialed the members of his team.

"Guys, this is Ethan. I am changing the location of our meetup," Ethan said. "Meet me at my hotel room. It's time you learned the truth about our new mission."
