30 Worlds: Royal Megaforce, Episode Final: "Masters of the Ultimate Power"
BOOK THREE*CHAPTER THREE
As soon as Carter, Benji and Brandt were in his hotel room, Ethan began to speak. "For the last seven years, the I.M.F. has been in a technology and intelligence-sharing agreement with an organization known formally as the Cinnabarian Resistance Alliance, or simply as the Scarlett Army," he began.
"This group has been attempting to take down a group known as the Army of Inter-Universal Chaos, whose aim is to take over by force the many dimensions that are known to exist in this universe. The Scarlett Army has utilized innovations that we of the I.M.F. have developed, and vice versa," Ethan continued.
"Where is Luther?" Benji asked. "I'm getting to that, Benji," Ethan said. "As part of our agreement with the Scarlett Army, the I.M.F. also, occasionally, lends personnel to the Army and vice versa. Luther, when not acting as a member of this team, is a member of an elite group of Scarlett Army operatives known as the King's Hand."
"Now, to the real reason I called you all here tonight," Ethan said. "I assume you've all heard the briefing file on our new mission involving the Syndicate and its ties to the A.I.C.." Benji, Jane and Brandt nodded. "Well, the King's Hand is here in Seattle, and they're investigating the same thing."
Ethan began to explain about what he had seen at Chef Morimoto's restaurant. But when he stopped to take a drink, a beeping sounded from Ethan's pocket. Ethan reached in and withdrew a cell phone. He cocked an eyebrow when he saw Luther's name on the display.
Moments earlier, as Chef Morimoto resolved on Gavan's Glory II, Luther turned to William. "Your Majesty, I respectfully recommend that we hold off on activating Siege Mode," he said. "Why do you ask, Luther?" William said.
"I believe that we need to read Ethan and his team into our mission," Luther said. "He's right, William," Zenon said. "Ethan Hunt, Benji Dunn, William Brandt and Jane Carter are listed in the Key Database."
Zenon tapped a few keys. A holographic display formed. On it were files on Ethan, Benji, Brandt and Carter. "All right," William said. "Luther, call Ethan and tell him and his team to prepare for a surprise."
Luther smiled, then reached for the phone in his pocket and dialed a number. "Ethan, it's me," Luther said.
In his hotel room, Ethan answered his phone. "Luther, what's going on?" Ethan said.
Aboard Gavan's Glory II, William whispered to Zenon, "Zee, route transporter control to your panel and prepare to beam Agent Hunt and his team directly to the control room," he said. Zenon nodded and set to work as Luther continued to speak to Ethan.
"I've found out some new information on the Syndicate," Luther said. "That's good," Ethan said. "Where do you want to meet?"
"I was kind of thinking about having you come to where I am," Luther said. At that, William leaned in and whispered in Zenon's ear, "Lock on to any entity within 15 meters of the reception point of Luther's phone call and energize on my order." Zenon nodded, then entered the specified parameters into her control panel. "Standing by," Zenon whispered.
"Well then, where are you? I can have my team there within thirty minutes," Ethan said. "How about making that thirty seconds?" Luther asked. At that, William whispered, "Energize, Zee."
Zenon nodded, then slid the activation levers upward. Four towers of blue and silver transporter energy appeared in the control room, resolving into Ethan, Benji, Brandt and Carter. "Welcome aboard, Agents Hunt, Brandt, Carter and Dunn," William said.
Ethan turned around and saw William. "You must be King William," Ethan said. "I am indeed," William said as he shook Ethan's hand. "You four are now aboard Gavan's Glory II, the most advanced vessel in the Scarlett Army fleet."
"Let's talk about what you need to know about the A.I.C.," William said. "You four-" William gestured to Ethan, Benji, Brandt and Carter. "-are the Key we need from this dimension to defeat the A.I.C. once and for all," William finished.
"As far as we know, the A.I.C. has at least three agents in this world as evidenced by testimony by another of our agents assigned to this world," William said. "Masaharu Morimoto, right?" Ethan said.
"Yes," Sofia said. "I am Queen Sofia, King William's wife. I'll escort you four to quarters so you can get settled, then we'll discuss what else we need to do. Follow me please—this ship can get confusing for a newcomer."
Ethan, Benji, Carter and Brandt followed Sofia out of the control room. Luther then turned to William. "Can I speak to you in private?" Luther asked.
William nodded, then spoke to Gavan's Glory II in his mind. "Gavan's Glory II, initiate iso-mode surrounding my and Agent Stickell's location for five meters around," William thought.
A cone of energy surrounded William and Luther. "We won't be overheard in this area while iso-mode is active," William said. "What's on your mind, Luther?"
"Your Majesty, I have been proud to be a member of the King's Hand these last few months," Luther said. "But, I feel that Jane has done more in my position as computer expert than I have. So, after this mission here in the Unaligned World of Mission: Impossible is complete, I would like to be transferred back to the I.M.F. full-time."
"I see," William said. "While I'm gonna be sad to see you leave us, I hope you'll be happy wherever you go. Do you have any ideas for your replacement as a member of the Hand?" "I was thinking maybe Miguel Diaz from the Unaligned World of Cobra Kai," Luther said.
"Interesting pick," William said. "I'll contact him once we're done here in the Unaligned World of Mission: Impossible. But for now, let's carry on here as if nothing has changed. We still have to see what the A.I.C. is up to."
William then hugged Luther before shutting down iso-mode.
