Lantern Corps. Academy…
The young Lanterns just finished their courses and taking a free period, Rayza walked out of the course, and started to the chambers. Unknown to her, Harold is far distant from her but hidden, he began following her towards the training chamber, he hid himself from the corner, as he watches Rayza stood in front of the door, with LANOS 3.0 appeared screen-form before her,
"Hello Ms. Rayza, in what training will it be for today?" LANOS asked,
"Is there a way to enhance the settings to make it advance than the other?" Rayza asked,
"Such request will take a matter of reprogramming and installing an update through each aspect of the central database, which will take approximate hours for it to process," LANOS explained,
"So then it is improvable for you to obtain such update?" she asked,
"For you, I will process through the mainframe and have it installed near the end of the day," LANOS replied,
"Much appreciate it," she said.
Harold heard it all, as he remembered that theory he asked Larreef,
("Do androids interact well with organic life forms?" Harold asked,
"Unlikely, androids only interact with organic life forms based on their programming and a settings to display a positive or negative attitude; plus they are most likely to interact better with other androids and machinery," Larreef said.)
"Hey Rayza," Rayza turned to Khalia as she appeared,
"I was wondering if maybe you're not busy, we can hang out, maybe with the other girls down at the Central cent-" Khalia asked, until Rayza cut her off,
"I'm not interested in your social activities, plus I'm busy with something important," she said as she begins to leave,
"Oh… well, maybe if you changed your mind, you can meet us there around noon," Khalia said to her,
"Unlikely," Rayza declined before she left.
Harold witnessed how Rayza's behavior display much different to Khalia than she was LANOS 3.0, just as Larreef explained. He begins to follow Rayza again after the coast is clear, or so he thought when…
"Hey Harold," Harold startled when Khalia spotted,
"What are you doing?" she asked,
"I'm working on something rather important, a project actually," he said, while keeping it natural,
"Sounds neat, can I help?" she asked,
"No-no-no, I got this, but I appreciate your offer so…" he said, but see Rayza leaving his sight,
"I have to go now, but I'll see later," he said as he continues his way to follow Rayza,
"Okay then…" Khalia replied.
Through the galaxy, in the ship Interceptor…
The five Green Lanterns are on their way to their destination to Lantern Corps. Academy, with Hal Jordan accompany them in order to find his son there,
"Green Lantern Hal Jordan from Earth, I speak for everyone when I say how it is an honor of having you aboard out transportation," the Green Lantern captain said,
"Well, the honor is mine, and I can't thank you enough for having me here to reach to this… Lantern Corps. Academy which I never knew there was in the first place," Hal said,
"It is run by the Three Guardians of the Galaxy, as they summon and enroll young Lanterns to train, serve, and learn to become the next generation of Honor Guards and Galaxies new Protectors," the captain explained.
"That's… interesting, though I was told my son was summoned there, and I hoping to go there an-" Hal explained, then…
"Your son is summoned to be the new Green Lantern?!" one of the associates said,
"Well yes, he was summoned there when he-" Hal said,
"That is fantastic! I'm so happy for you Mr. Jordan, you must be very proud of your son," the associate smiled,
"Listen, it's not what you think, he's not really-" Hal tried to clear some things, until suddenly…
Rumble!
They suddenly felt an unexpected vibrate of the ship,
"Please tell me that wasn't the from the solar section?" the captain asked is associates,
"I doubt it, we checked right before we left," the other associate said assured him,
"It must be one of the fusions acting up, I'll go take a look," the associate said as he got off from his post,
"Maybe I should come with," Hal volunteered,
"Oh no, you're our guest, let us handle it while you wait here, I'm sure there it's nothing serious," the captain said before has his associate leave the main quarter to investigate the problem. Hal however, feels a little anxious, the idea of Harold being in an academy training to become a Green Lantern, and the other's mistaken the idea of his son wanting to follow in his footsteps,
"He must be right, it's nothing serious, just need to remain focus on getting to this academy and find Harold," he thought to himself.
Meanwhile, back in Lantern Corps. Academy…
Harold was able to follow Rayza towards the tunnel that leads to the other side, he quickly hid himself behind a tank, and pulled out the transmission device to pick up any nearby devices, he slowly pointed at Rayza's direction,
Rayza stopped as she stared down the tunnel, she hates walking down there, as it operates magnetic surroundings which is powered by the energy of the ship, though if it encounters a highly powered energy can cause an interference to anything electronic. Though she is only half, she can go through, though her other half might cause interference.
She took a deep breath, once again unaware of Harold hiding and watching her, then took her first step, and before she knew it, her circuitry is becoming shaky, but she kept her cool and remain calm as she continues moving forward. Then some young Lanterns appearing from the opposite direction, carrying their small devices with them, as Rayza walked passes them, their electronics began to corrupt,
"What the-?!" the young Green Lantern replied as his screen device became frozen,
"Hey, why is it all shaky?!" said the female Blue Lantern while holding her control device as it is vibrating,
"This wasn't supposed to happen, I just updated this," said the Yellow Lantern after his personal database short-circuit and shut-down.
Although she can hear them complaining about their devices, she continues walking calmly, and a little quickly so she can escape through the tunnel,
Harold felt the transmission devise vibrating as it picked more than it should have, then cause a small static afterwards, he became baffled after what he saw, of how other's electronics device started to corrupt, froze and short-circuit the moment Rayza walked passed them, which led to another explanation from what Larreef told him.
("Are androids known to connect other devices and machinery?" Harold asked,
"Unfortunately so, they are known to hack into any devices and high-tech database to either take full control to collect information, or cause a short-circuitry based on their superior high powered energy," Larreef said.)
He saw Rayza leaving out of his sight again, he is about to follow her again,
"Harold?" he got startled by Khalia again as she appeared holding a small container,
"Why are you hiding behind the corner?" she wondered,
"It's nothing, really," he lied,
"I don't know, you look like you're hiding from someone. Is somebody bothering you? Is it that Yellow Lantern whose fang you knocked out? Maybe I can help reason with him, and then-" Khalia said being concerned,
"No Khalia, nobody is bothering me," he said before he begins to leave,
"I have everything under control, but I appreciate your help, gotta go," he said to her and left to continue following Rayza.
Meanwhile, back to the Interceptor ship…
After the Green Lantern associate went to the solar section, finding no problem with it, he headed back to the quarter until he discovered a big blasted door down the left quarter where the main controls are,
"What the heck…?" he replied, as he went down to investigate that, he walked inside the blasted door and has his Power Ring activated to light through the darkness, almost pitch dark as he looked around for a moment, so saw nothing in sight.
"Better report this to the captain," he turned to leave, until he spotted a dark figure standing before him,
"Stay where you are!" he said to the intruder while having his ring in position to fire, but the figure begins to approach him while gathering up Black Energy around his body.
Back to the Lantern Corps. Academy…
Harold followed Rayza to the Hologramic Sector, where some young Lanterns come and view a brief history of all Lanterns from different Corporation they serve under, both from current to former Lanterns through holographic images, and/or videos of each other them. It was a little crowd by some young Lanterns, though Harold managed to blend in avoid being spotted by Rayza, though many pay more attention to the current Lanterns in their holographic videos and images, Harold looked over near the far end away from the group, he saw Rayza stand alone, staring at the holographic image of her father, back when he was a Red Lantern.
Harold gazed over her from the distant, looking at her sad expression on her face, of which he had never seen her like that, making him feel sad as well, if only he wasn't afraid to blow his cover, he would've walked up to talk to her, maybe even comfort her. However, that did got him thinking about what Larreef said to him…
("Although they are aware of being machines, they attend to learn and develop emotions like any organic being, would you believe that is true?" Harold asked,
"Others may find that theory true, but in my opinion, I find it unlikely, as androids are only to program to learn the concept of organic emotion but never anticipate of developing from it. I know better to never be fooled by their appearance, for they are no more than emotionless machines that are considered a danger to many lives, which is why the Guardians restrict any androids to ever participate in this academy; and I couldn't agree more," Larreef scorned.)
Within that moment, he noticed she's about to leave, so he went through out of the crowd, unaware he passed by someone's project that smeared on his back, but doesn't pay attention to it as he's about to follow Rayza, and then…
"Uh… Hey Harold, you got som-" he heard Khalia voice, as she was with the crowd, he sighed as this is the third time she spotted him, which kind of annoying him, so he turned to her,
"Khalia, I know what you're gonna say, but I just wanna make things clear with you, I don't need your help for what I am doing," he said to her,
"But your back-" Khalia tried to tell him something but he cut her off,
"I know you got my back and I appreciate it really, but for right now, all I ask, just for today, if you see me doing something, please you do not intervened and look the other way, or just look away, okay," he clarified to her, before he saw Rayza leaving the area,
"Okay, but I thought you should know that-" Khalia said until Harold begin to quickly leave,
"I'll see you later," he said to her before he left the area,
"You got some yellow smeared on your back," Khalia finished her sentenced even though he's already gone.
In the galaxy, Interceptor…
"Captain," one of his other associates said, the captain turned to him,
"There seems to be an interference with the at the interior database," he said while looking at the database,
"That can't be right, we have them newly installed," the captain assured, and then they receive an unexpected contact through the monitor from the associate who left earlier,
"Captain! There's an intruder aboard the ship! I'm gonna need backu-!" the connection cut off, leaving everyone concern,
"An intruder?!" the captain said,
RUMBLE!
The ship vibrated again but rougher, the captain prepares to leave the main quarter,
"I need you two to come with me," the captain said to his associates,
"Let me help," Hal once again volunteered,
"It could be dangerous Mr. Jordan, let us handle the situation while you wait here," the captain said to him before he and his two associates left the main quarter to locate the intruder, though Hal tighten his grip as though it has been years since he last fought, he can't just standby doing nothing when there is trouble aboard this ship; which is causing an interference to find his son.
Back to the Lantern Corps. Academy…
Rayza is on her way back to the chamber, but the path is block on the count of reconstruction, luckily, she knows a shortcut around it, and Harold followed her down a hall through a small sector filled with seemingly harmless plants. Though little did he know, he was walking passed the section where a wild plant-creatures are held at a chamber, and unaware to Harold that the yellow-smeared he got back when he accidentally got through the crowd back in the Hologramic Chamber, is a pheromone that attracts certain plant species, many of the plants responded to the smell as they're awaken…
As Rayza left the sector, Harold catches up to her until he felt a vine wrapped around his left arm,
"What the—let go of me," he said to it, and then more vines wrapped around his other arm, pulling him away from the door. More vines kept coming, as they wrapped around his legs, waist, and torso, Harold struggles to break from it,
"I don't usually do this but-" he said as he used his ring to construct a Green Machete to…
Cut! Slice! Slashed!
He cut all the vines to break free, but more kept coming, so he used his Green Shield to block them and try to escape, but the other vines blocked his path, and…
SLAP!
It slapped him hard enough to push him down to the ground, and the vines once again wrapped around his body, he struggles again, then thought of an idea, though it may wear him out afterwards, he begins to gather his energy as his body is glowing Flaming Green,
"Here goes nothing!" he thought, before…
BEAM!
A flash of green light appeared outside of the door, and within that moment, Harold merged out of the sector, panting having use much of his energy to escape the plants, he chuckled a little,
"No plant can hold me down," he said after his victory, he finally begins to leave the sector to find Rayza until…
Grab!
He turned and looked down as he felt a huge vine wrapped around his ankle,
"Are you kidding me?!" he said as it begins to pull him back to the room, but Harold quickly held on to the corner preventing to be pulled back in the sector, then he spotted Khalia as she just got out of a chamber,
"Khalia, thank goodness you're here, I-" Harold called out to her, but…
"Don't worry Harold, I didn't forget that thing you told me by not intervening whatever it is you're doing and look the other way, so… later," she said to him right before she began leaving him to his doom,
"No wait Khalia! Come back! This time, I actually do need your help!" he cried out to her, but she's already gone, and he lost his grip as the vine pulled him,
"NOOOO!" he yelled, as he got dragged back in sector with the door close.
Back in the galaxy, Interceptor…
"AAAHH!" the associate yelled after he was punched and based against the wall, the other two are on the ground unconscious, and the captain is pinned against the wall, beaten and barely conscious the intruder is none of other than the Black Armored Warrior as he held the captain's neck in his gasped, about to blast him with his Black Energy…
"Let him go!" the Black Armored Warrior turned and saw Hal stood in front of him,
"I rather not know who you are or what you're after, but you sure have picked the wrong ship to infiltrate," he said to the intruder, the Black Armored Warrior didn't say anything but did dropped the captain to the ground, then turned his body towards Hal. Hal position himself to fight as he used his ring to construct a Green Baseball Bat, and the Black Armored Warrior once again powered up with Black Energy in his body as he constructed a Black Hatchet, and without a moment to spare… they charged at each other and swung their weapons as they…
CLASH!
