Well, at long last, I've updated. Sorry for the delay. Work and life became crazy. Also, there was a lot to put into this chapter. So much that I decided to cut it in half again. The next one will be up in a little bit.

Chapter 10 Horrible Meals; Dream Dreams pt 1

Giants' Castle

Kitchen

The cook giant laid flat on the floor, as though he was one of the pigs in blankets after being skewed by the toothpicks. Before him stood Pacifica while Fallon and the rest of the giants huddled around the cook as he slept blissfully unaware of their presence.

Pacifica who was still controlled by Ursula glared down at the giant, not only for his failure of losing her bargaining chips for the Trident and the Heart of Atlantis, but also the fact that the giant went against her orders to place the prisoners in cells. Instead, he chose to go make a snack before carrying out her simple command.

"Well everyone... It looks like the feast will have to wait," Pacifica said as she turned and looked up at Fallon with her glare, "Would you care to explain why this giant was here rather than fulling my command, General Fallon," she inquired while passively accusing him for their new situation.

Fallon's two heads shot the teen girl a stone glare of their own as they could tell what she was really asking. 'Why was this giant preparing the captives to be eaten?' "He must have gotten hungry and decided to grab a snack before taking the prisoners somewhere safe," Fallon answered without revealing what he told the cook to do with the teens. All the giants backed Fallon's answer with murmurs and grunts of agreement.

Pacifica's expression didn't change while staring at all the giants, "Is that so," she said as she looked back at the sleeping cook. 'He's clearly lying. Still, what's more distressing is that he found a way around the power of the crown,' Ursula thought to herself, 'I ordered Fallon to keep the girls safe, but not the giant he ordered to carry out my order. I'll have to remember that.' She returned her line sight to Fallon, "In that case," she began to order as the crown glowed with her command, "When this giant awakens, ensure he goes hungry until we head for the beanstalk tomorrow. That will be his punishment for failing me."

Fallon grit his teeth as he felt the power of the Crown of Erik influence him, "As... Commanded... Your highness," he said with disgust in his voice at being ordered like a common soldier or a dog.

"Good," Ursula said as she continued to use Pacifica as a puppet, "Now the question is, how did those two manage to escape? Unless you giants rarely look down at your feet, there's no way the boy's friends were able to sneak in without being noticed. Not only that, but how would they have been able to enter the castle undetected?"

"I say it be that Jumping Bean with the toothpick that helped the water dancer and sword boy escape," one giant spoke in the crowd, "He be causing us trouble for many bright times."

Pacifica looked in the direction of the giant speaking with confusion all over her face by the giant's words, "Jumping Bean? Toothpick? What are you talking about?"

"He be referring to the human who is friends with the runt, the BFG," Thum explained to his current new ruler, "And the toothpick is the stick that was used against us during our time in Man's Land years ago."

Pacifica's confused face turned into shock and anger from the description of the weapon. "The Staff of Erik?! HERE," she yelled in anger as the crown glowed to match her anger. This caused the giants to feel pain to reflect her anger as they fell to their knees. "That's impossible! It was lost when Atlantis sank beneath the waves! I had the Crew of the Flying Dutchman search for the staff years ago and they never found a trace of it!"

"Things that are lost are bound to be found with time," Fallon spoke out while continuing to feel the pressure of the crown's power, "Our land was lost to the World of Man for centuries. Now it has been found again by you and the Daughters of Poseiden."

The possessed girl's face remained angry despite knowing what Fallon said was true. "Another Wielder of Destiny! Here of all places," she ranted in anger as she looked at the giants, "One of you said that this Jack is friends with someone!?"

"Yeah! A runt of a giant called the BFG," Fleshlumpeater said as he walked through the crowd along with his gang of giants, "He be the only one who giant who don't eat beans and treat them like pets!"

Many giants spoke up in agreement of Fleshlumpeater's words as Pacifica continued to listen. "He small compared to the rest of us and weak," another voice spoke out behind Fleshlumpeater.

"He be the only one who eats those disgusting snozzcumbers and helps the jumping bean!"

"And he wonders the land without breaking stuff! He just makes stuff instead!"

"Is that so," Pacifica said as she could sense the anger from the giants for the BFG, "If this... Runt as you put it is as great of an annoyance as you say and friends with this staff wielding bean, why is he not imprisoned like the others?"

"It's because of what he can do."

Pacifica looked at Fallon who was still forced to bow before her, "The BFG is the only giant that can go to Man's world and back without a beanstalk! That's how that Staff Weilding Hero ended up here and keeps holding us back with his bags of things and staff while protecting his friend! Until we find a way to use the method the BFG uses, he's better off out in the open than in a cage with the others."

Ursula had Pacifica glare at the giants as she thought for a moment, "A method of traveling between the worlds... This changes a great deal indeed," Pacifica said as she processed all this new information. "Then we have little time to waste," she said as she walked away with her back to them as she released her control over the giants who moaned in relief of being free.

"And what exactly will you have us do," Fallon asked with a hint of malice in his voice, "Your highness?"

"MYEAH," Fallon's Second Head asked in annoyance.

"The Runt as you call him must have a home," Pacifica stated as she turned to face Fleshlumpeater, "Since you seem to know the most about him, I wager you know where he lives."

"Yeah," Fleshlumpeater answered with a hint of disgust from just talking about the BFG, "I know where the cave he hide from us is."

"Then you and your gang will bring him to me," Pacifica ordered, "I'll use him to trade with this new Wielder of Destiny for the Beanstalk Staff. No doubt Eric and the others will help him and this nice giant out of some the goodness of their hearts. It will make finding and capturing them again all the easier," she explained as she turned her attention to three giants to the left of her, "You," she said while pointing at them. The three giants stepped forward, "No, no, just one of you," she responded as the three stopped. The left giant stepped forward thinking she meant him, "No, not you. Him," Pacifica said while pointing to the middle giant.

The giant that stepped forward was dressed like the other giants that worked for Fallon with ragged cloths and body armor. The most distinguishing feature of this giant was his black hair that was standing up in the shape of a fan.

"I have a job for you," Pacifica told the giant.

Meanwhile

Forest

After escaping the giants and the castle grounds, the BFG continued to run despite the group being out of danger. As the BFG ran, introductions were made and the group reviewed everything that happened so everyone was on the same page.

"So not only are the giants from the legend still kicking and in prime shape," Iago said as he began to go over what the others had heard from the meeting of giants earlier while sitting on Ariel's shoulder, "But Ursula is using that Pacifica chick from your town not only to control the giants with the Crown but as a hostage against us!?"

"This is crazy, mon," Sebastian said from Arista's shoulder, "Just when we thought the Sea Witch was out of plans, she pulls this out of her cauldron!"

"I can't say I'm surprised by that," Ariel admitted, "I just can't believe Ursula chose Pacifica of all people to control."

"Forget about that! We're on the verge of another Giant War," Iago squawked as he paced back and forth on Ariel's shoulder, "Only this time, no one back home remembers or even believes in it to prepare for the battle! That's it! Game over! If Triton doesn't flood the world, the giants will steal everything, and eat everyone!"

"Daddy flooding the world," Ariel asked in confusion as she looked at Eric.

"It's just something that Kida said to make Iago tell what he knew about this place," Eric told her, "Besides, it's not like your father would actually flood the Earth just to find you and your sister, right," he asked as he laughed to himself about it.

Ariel and Arista looked away as though they thought their father would actually do something like that due to his temper.

This didn't help calm Iago, "Well that's just great, just great," he exclaimed as he began to pull out his feathers, "Look at this. Look at this! I'm so freaked out that I'm molting!"

"Easy Iago," Dax said from Eric's shoulder, "We just have to get the princesses back down the beanstalk before the King realizes what has happened. I mean, what at the chances he even knows what's going on?"

"This King Triton sounds like he has a lot of anger issues," Jack said from the BFG's shoulder, "Maybe he should take up yoga or meditation. That always helps me after a stressful day of giants throwing boulders at trees for fun."

"Oh please," Chamo spoke out next to Jack, "You quit meditating after three seconds every morning!"

"What's your point, Governor," Jack asked Chamo before the two and the BFG laughed for a bit.

"Seriously though," Arista spoke up from the pocket she was sharing with Ariel even though the two still weren't talking to each other, "Where are we going? This isn't the way back to your home BFG."

"It be too soon to be going back to my home," the BFG said as he continued through the forest, "Fallon and Fleshlumpeater will probably think to look for us there."

"Then where the heck are we going," Iago squawked in anger as more feathers went flying, "We need to get back down before the world ends from battle crazy giants or flooding from an angry king!"

"Relax bird," Chamo spoke out, "The beanstalk isn't the only way down to Earth. But it's going to take time getting there, even with the BFG doing all the walking."

"Easy for you to say," Iago exclaimed, "You're used to mountain sized monsters trying to eat you! And the name is IAGO!" Chamo answered with a care free wave and smile.

"You should take a break though," Jack said to the BFG, "You've been running for a good while now. Besides, the other giants seem to have stopped following us."

"I not being sure Jack," the BFG responded, "We should be getting to where we be going as fast as we can be going."

"I second that vote," Iago exclaimed, "The faster we get to wherever the heck we're going-" Iago stopped when the goosling gave him a sad expression while a low rumbling could be heard from its stomach. Iago groaned as he knew what his nest egg was saying, "I wish to recast my vote for a break as well."

"A break might be a good idea," Eric said, "None of us have eaten in hours." He too was feeling the need to feed his body as well. Ariel held her stomach in agreement as she hadn't eaten since breakfast yesterday.

"Well BFG," Jack said, "I'd say it's pretty unanimous what we should do now." The BFG nodded as he knew that Jack was just thinking about him.

A few minutes later, everyone was sitting around a fire that Jack had started for warmth while the BFG was busy getting supper ready. Eric and the others insisted they should do it, but the BFG said he would be faster as he knew what to look for.

"So those giants in the cells back at the castle," Eric asked as they waited for the BFG, "Who are they?"

"They're giants like the BFG," Chamo explained, "Only they lost the cheerful aura like the he has from being held captive for so long."

"You see, there are two kinds of giants here," Jack explained, "There are the good giants that used to live here like the BFG and the ones like Fallon and the others."

"But why is Fallon keeping them locked up," Ariel asked Jack, "I mean, wouldn't he try to bring them to his side?"

"It's kind of complicated," Chamo explained, "You see, the giants were once a very peaceful people like the BFG. But a long time ago, something happened that caused a large group to become carnivorous and angry. The new angry giants attacked the nice ones. Not sure why though, but since friendly ones couldn't bear to fight their former friends, they were captured and locked in the cells you saw before."

"That's horrible mon," Sebastian said what everyone was thinking, "To turn on their friends like that."

"It's a horrible shame and a shock when I found out as well," Jack shook his head, "We still don't why they keep them imprisoned."

"Jack," Arista said getting Jack's attention after he returned scouting, "There's something I've been meaning to ask you. Why are you here?"

"Well, everyone has to be somewhere," Jack answered honestly, "That's what my parents used to tell me when I was on the farm."

"She means why are you here, Plants for Brains," Iago squawked from his spot on the Goosling's head, "If you've known of a way down this whole time without a beanstalk, why are you hanging out in this death trap you call home?!"

"Oh, well that's quite a long story," Jack said as everyone listened closely, "I used to live on a farm outside of Goold Old Jolly England when I was a young lad with my parents. Years ago, my parents were on a quick boat ride to deliver some of the harvest..." Jack's normally cheerful expression turned into a slightly weaker one as he looked down, "But they never came back..."

Everyone looked downhearted by Jack's words.

"I know that feeling," Eric said to Jack, "I lost my parents years ago at sea."

"Ariel and I lost our mother when we were young too," Arista said as she placed a hand on Jack's shoulder, "I- We all know that pain."

Jack smiled as he felt the comfort and support of the first teens he had ever met since coming to Giants Land. "Thanks everyone. The days turned to weeks and weeks turned into months while my Uncle and I waited. But there was no sign of them. Their ship never reached the ports," Jack continued, "Uncle soon find himself drinking the days away as he thought my parents abandoned us... Something he said every day. I don't remember how though, but people in suits came and took me away while my Uncle didn't even try to fight back. Next thing I know, I'm living in an orphanage in Jolly Old England. I was pretty popular there."

"What do you mean," Arista asked nervously. 'Wait, why do I even care? It's not like I care if he has someone in his life, right? Why am I even thinking of something like that?'

"Well, unlike most kids at the age of nine, I still believed in the childhood fairy tales and legends that most either grow out of," Jack explained, "So most kids considered me the weirdo of the place and others loved to chase me around... So, they could laugh at me for it whenever I wasn't hiding from them."

"I know what's that like too," Eric admitted, "My family always tried to prove Atlantis was real, but we were met with ridicule from a great deal of people in the community." Ariel placed a hand on her fiancé's shoulder as she had seen that first hand herself.

"Well, it wasn't the best place to be, and I thought that would be it for me since no one adopted me for three years. But then... It happened," Jack continued in a spooky tone of voice, "One night... When the night was cold, the streets were empty, the only sound in the air was a person's heartbeat pounding on their chest..." Everyone listened intensely expecting something horrible or scary to have happened, "I was reading a book in bed past lights out," Jack said in a cheerful voice as everyone collapsed from shock as his answer wasn't what they were expecting.

"That's it?! You were reading some book at night," Iago squawked feeling ticked off from Jack's answer after building the moment with his words.

"Well books were my only escape growing up," Jack said, "And it wasn't just any book... It was the Legend of the Giants. The very book my parents used to read to me."

Ariel and Arista went wide eyed as soon as they heard the title of the book, "The Legend of the Giants," they exclaimed in unison. The two looked at each other having said the same thing before looking away in an angry humph as they were still bitter with one another. Everyone could feel the awkward atmosphere from the two girls.

"So anyway, I was reading when I heard a sound. It sounded like footsteps... But much louder and they were coming from outside. I went to look and I couldn't believe my eyes," Jack said with astonishment in his voice. "Outside on the streets was a tall shadow like being moving along the houses of the streets. Just as it was beginning to pull something from out of his body, the shadow looked in my direction and looked me in the eyes. There wasn't time for me to think so I jumped back in bed, covered myself in my blanket, and sat as still as I could only hope I wouldn't be noticed."

Everyone stared at Jack as they became lost in his words as he continues. Through their minds, they all began to think that the giant was one of man-eating giants from the castle. The listeners' heart rates increased as they began to sweat.

"So, you saw a giant shadow outside look you in the eye," Dax said as he went over the story, "And your first response is to hide under your blanket?"

"Well I was only eleven years old," Jack answered as he continued, "For a little bit, I thought I was in the clear. I didn't hear anything else. But then, I felt myself being lifted up and my blanket was used as a bag. All I could see was darkness as I was carried off by the living shadow. I felt like a bag of potatoes being carried off to be eaten. Suddenly, there was a huge burst of colors through my blanket. It was as though I was travelling through the Aurora Borealis. It amazed me to the point that I had forgotten my fear."

Hearing that, the fear everyone had faded as they imagined a huge amount of colored lights surrounded them. It was as though they were in a room of prisms and were bathed in endless rainbows.

"The light show ended though and I went back to being scared," Jack continued, "I could hear the same loud noises from before mixed with louder ones. Then came the sound of the something being pulled open, more steps, and then I could finally feel solid ground below me again. My eyes were shut tight as I expected something horrible... Only when I opened my eyes, I found myself in a warm looking place."

"The BFG's Home," Arista concluded from how Jack seemed to look happy by the memory.

Jack nodded at Arista's answer before continuing, "That's when I met the BFG. The meeting was a little rocky at first due to being scared from the stories I read," Jack said, "But after a while, I began to see him as the kind and friendly guy he is. It was a pretty happy time as we looked at the land outside his home... But it didn't last."

The BFG's face darkened as he continued to cut and carve in the dark behind the group as he remembered the time Jack was talking about.

"Suddenly, we both heard the sound of thunder getting louder and louder. Before I knew what was going on, the BFG hid me in a hole in a tree," Jack continued as everyone sat on the edge of their seats. "It was Fleshlumpeater and his gang of giants," Jack explained, "And they were getting their kicks by using the BFG like a ball in their game and picking on him."

Jack's made fists from the memory of he remembered what he saw and how it made him feel, "I wanted to jump in and help, but I knew I wouldn't stand a chance against the giants abusing my friend. Suddenly, a huge angry looking eye appeared out of nowhere looking through the hole I was using. I backed away in fear as a huge finger began to tear at the hole to make it bigger. With the hand close to reaching for me, I climbed up the inside of the tree as best as I could."

With every word describing Jack's climb up the tree to avoid his pursuer, everyone listened more and more intensely. The way Jack described the life or death situation, they could imagine themselves in place of Jack with their life on the line.

"When I reached the top of the tree, I found myself surrounded by a sea of storm clouds. It was as though I was on a small bit of land surrounded by an angry ocean. I could hear the sounds of the giant that was after me, but the thunderous noise of whatever was chasing me was all around. Suddenly, my attacker emerged from the clouds with two sets of eyes glaring at me. It was Fallon and I had no-where to run or hide. Before I could react though," he jumped up and used his hands to show a pair of jaws chomping down before the group.

"Did you die," Dax asked as he was so caught up in the story that his common sense had been thrown out the window.

"Sadly, yes," Jack solemnly said, "But I lived," he counted with a sense of determination.

Sebastian became confused by the recent part of Jack's story, "Wait, Mon. How could you die but-"

"Shh," Ariel told Sebastian who was sitting on her shoulder, "This is getting good!"

"Never had I felt so alive than when I was so close to Death's cold grip," Jack continued as he remembered how he felt being in the throat of Fallon, "Just before one of Fallon's heads could suck me down his gullet, I grabbed hold of that gross, pink, fleshy thing that dangles at the end of the throat."

"The uvula," Eric said explaining what part Jack was referring to.

"Yeah, that's it," Jack said, "I hung onto that sucker, and I swung back and forth, and back and forth." As Jack continued to explain, he began to show the group how he made his escape by holding onto an imaginary uvula as though he was swinging from it, "and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, until finally, I let go and used the momentum I built up to shoot right out of his mouth at lightning speed straight towards the bullied BFG who was right in front of Fallon!" He pulled his dagger out and threw it into the air, "I may have lost the element of surprise against the giants, but I got this," he finished as he caught his dagger with expert precision.

Ariel gasped as she recognized it immediately, "Fallon's tooth!"

"Dang, Mon," Sebastian exclaimed.

"It's like the old saying, "An eye for a tooth, "nose for a chin, a butt for a,"" Jack stopped as he seemed to have lost his thought, "Well, it's an old saying, but it's a not a very good one."

"And ever since that day," Chamo continued, "Jack has trained his body, his mind, and his spirit in order to protect his friend and himself."

"That's amazing," Arista said after hearing all that, "You did all that for the BFG."

"Well the BFG saved me from the orphanage," Jack said, "And I dislike bullies."

"So how did the weasel got here," Iago said as he did the same thing Chamo did to him.

"Story time can wait," the BFG said as he walked over the group, "For now, it's time to be eating. You have to be keeping your strength up."

The BFG placed a huge make shift plate made of wood down before the group. In the center were an assortment of snozzcumbers cut in different ways before the group. From cut into slices, to full pieces, and one carved like a doze in the center was presented. The BFG took a whole one and began to eat one while cringing from the taste.

As the uncomfortable aura emitted from the prepared dishes, the five tourists stared at the food with nervous expressions on their faces.

"You expect us to eat that," Iago squawked not believing BFG's words, "Those look worse than the Sultan's crackers!" Even the gooseling backed away thanks to its animal instincts warning him. "See, even my Nest Egg knows those are nasty," Iago continued, "Besides, there are lots of fruits in the trees! Why aren't we eating those!?"

"It's because those are being the tricky tree berries," the BFG answered as he attempted to force himself to eat the snozzcumber, "They make people go through funny feelings and act all woozy like."

"What the BFG means is that the fruits in the tree causes the eaters to experience different things," Chamo explained to the confused tourists, "It's why Jack uses them as the bombs you saw him use against the giants."

"Although I tried one once," Jack admitted to the group, "Don't remember much after that though. I woke up married to a snozzcumber." He then looked at the group with a serious expression, "An ugly snozzcumber," he said before sighing from the memory, "But I loved her," he finished as he took a bite of the snozzcumber. The taste however made his face cringe as though he had eaten something that was warping his face into an inhuman shape.

The Tourists looked at Jack and were dumbfounded by his words. 'What kind of fruit makes you do that,' they all thought to themselves.

"Well," Eric started to say as he attempted to change the subject, "If this is all we really have, then we have to make the best of it." Then he reached for a piece of the snozzcumber, "Besides, I'm sure they aren't that bad..."

As he began to put the vegetable in his mouth, the tourists watched with fear on their faces. Finally, Eric took a bite of the snozzcumber, and began to chew it. After swallowing it, Eric sat completely still.

After a minute of staring, Ariel got closer to Eric, "Eric, are you all right," she asked him as she tapped his shoulder. Suddenly, Eric fell backwards and fell flat on his back on the ground. "ERIC," Ariel cried out in horror as she moved next to him. As she went to see if he was okay, a rainbow-colored slime began to ooze out his mouth. She could also smell a foul stench from his mouth that caused her face to turn a sickly green.

Dax jumped over and looked at his partner, "Looks like he just fainted," he told Ariel, "Just how bad are those things?"

"Hmm, he must have a strong sense of taste if he fainted from just one bite," Chamo said as he continued to eat his own piece.

"But what is that stuff coming out of the boy's mouth," Sebastian asked in shock at the sight of Eric's frozen face as more slime oozed out.

"That would be the one of the only decently thing about the snozzcumbers," the BFG answered as he finished his, "They be turning into many colors after being eaten."

"I see," Arista said as she took one of the snozzcumbers. 'I really don't want to eat this,' she thought to herself after having hide in one and seeing Eric faint from the taste. But the growling and pain in her stomach grew stronger, 'But I can't go on feeling this hungry!' As she gulped, Arista began to reach for a piece of snozzcumber.

"You're not actually going to eat that, are you?!"

Arista turned to see the horrified expression of Ariel as she looked at her sister in fear of what she was about to do. Sebastian was just as horrified as he stared in disbelief.

Arista glared at Ariel, "Well, there's nothing else to eat," she said as she gave Ariel a sly look, "Besides, you're always going on about new things from the surface. How's this any different?"

Ariel was taken aback by her sister's words. It was true that Ariel was all for new thing on the surface, but seeing her beloved knocked out by a vegetable. "Well... Normally yes," Ariel responded as she tried to find the right words, "But this is different-"

"Or are you saying you'd rather go back to Atlantica than eat one of these," Arista asked her sister in a challenging tone of voice.

Arista's words made Ariel's blood boil as she sent her own glare at her older sister. "Oh, look who's talking Miss Just Got her Legs," Ariel shot back as she reached down and grabbed a piece of her own, "I'll show you who's ready to go back home!"

"You're on," Arista replied to her sister's challenge, "If I'm still awake, you come back home with me. If you're still conscious, I drop the whole thing!"

Ariel nodded in agreement as the fire of their argument burned brightly.

"Now, now girls," Sebastian said from Ariel's shoulder, "Let's now do anything we'll regret later." He then pointed to the still unconscious Eric, "I mean, do you two really want to eat something that did that to-"

"On the count of three," both girls exclaimed as they shot forward causing Sebastian to fall off of Ariel's shoulder and onto the ground. "One... Two," the sisters said as they prepared themselves, "Three!" On cue, the two took a bite of the snozzcumber in their hands, and a bit of snozzcumber slime fell down into Sebastian's open mouth.

The moment they did though, their stern expressions turned into shock as their eyes shot wide open. Both of the sisters' hair shot up as their faces twisted with disgust from the vegetable's taste. Then the girls fell backwards as rainbow slime spewed out of pairs' mouths and into the air.

"Well, I figured that would be the outcome," Jack said not being very surprised by the girls' reactions to the food.

"Frankly, I being surprisedsed that so much is being eated," the BFG admitted.

"True... But that's something new entirely," Chamo said as he pointed to the ground near the now unconscious sisters. There was Sebastian making odd noises as he made random poses as he spazed out from the taste of the snozzcumber juice as though he was possessed by a demon.

After seeing the sight of the girls, Iago had enough, "That's it," he exclaimed as he flew up to the trees. After a minute, he flew back down with a number of different fruits from the trees, "I'll take my chances with the crazy fruit than eat one of those!"

"You sure you want to try that," Dax asked Iago, "I mean, we now know what the snozzcumbers do but now what happens when someone eats those."

"But at least we will only have to eat it once instead of spraying it out like a fountain," Iago said as he looked over the different colored and shaped fruits trying to figure out which was the safer one to eat. "Hey Stalkman, you use these," Iago squawked at Jack who sat there next to a still twitching Arista, "Which one of these do you recommend?!"

"Well, eating the fruits up there won't will cause any permanent damage," Jack answered honestly, "But I wouldn't recommend any of them."

"Well I'll risk these over rainbow slimed vegies any day," Iago exclaimed with sarcasm in his voice as he looked at the fruit, "All right then... I'll try this one!" Iago pointed to the most normal looking fruit of the batch. It was shaped like an apple but was orange.

"I'm with you Iago," Dax suddenly said as he grabbed an orange apple, "I'll put all my luck on this! Even though nothing will beat oysters!"

"Well we're not stopping you," Chamo told them as he, Jack and the BFG watched, "But don't say we didn't warn you."

"All right," Iago said, "On the count of three, we'll eat at the same time!"

"Right," Dax nodded in agreement as he held the fruit near his mouth.

"One... Two... THREE!"

As soon as they both said it, they stuffed the fruit into their mouths in unison and swallowed it them whole. The two sat there waiting for something to happen along with Jack, Chamo, and the BFG. Minutes passed and nothing happened.

"Huh... I was expecting one of them to turn pink or something," Chamo said as he smoked a cigar, "I guess there are some fruits that don't have weird affects."

"I supposen so," the BFG agreed with Chamo as she stared in surprise at the lack of side effects.

"Guess you two proved us wrong," Jack said with a toothy grin as he waited for a reply, "Guys? Do you two still have your minds?"

Suddenly, Dax and Iago's bodies tensed up and their tails shot up until they were touching their backs. Iago quickly turned around while a cute face held the sides of his face. "Mary had a little lamb," Iago sang in a high and goofy voice, "It's fleece was white as snow!"

Dax immediately imitated Iago's actions as he continued the rhyme, "And everywhere that Mary went, the lamb was sure to go," Dax continued in the same high tone of voice.

The two suddenly turned green and red swirls appeared in their eyes. The three stunned inhabitants of Giants' Land stared in surprised and shock as the two animals started marching forward like wind up soldiers marching forward. After a passing each other, the two green victims shot up as Dax's fur and Iago's feathers shot from their bodies like gun shots until they suddenly shot up in the air like two rockets. The two came crashing down with singed feathers and fur as they stared up at the sky in a daze while smoke rose from the two of them.

"I miss oysters," Dax finally said as a stream of smoke rose from his mouth.

"Well... Can't say we didn't try," Chamo said as he continued to smoke as Jack and the BFG nodded in agreement at their attempt to stop two critters.
