"If I cannot fly, let me sing." - by Stephen Sondheim.

One day, Scientia was sitting on the ramp of her ship in thought. Without Unicron to converse about the universe, she was left aimless. Knowing she had to clear the emptiness around her, she began her melody.

[Intro]

(Ooh, ooh)

[Verse 1]

Heart lyin' in my hands

I never wanted this (Ooh)

This tear will never mend

How did it come to this? (Ooh)

(Ooh, ooh)

[Chorus]

Please don't slip away

'Cause my heart can't take it

Don't let this be the end

Don't let this be the end

Please don't slip away

'Cause I'll just keep breakin'

Don't let this be the end

Don't let this be the end

The song drew Unicron to her like a beacon, encouraging him to materialize from the walls. He was intrigued by her voice. He knew of her passive demeanor, but she was singing right now. However, her voice sounded sullen. Following her voice, he saw her sitting on the ramp of her ship. Wanting to hear her song, he kept quiet for now.

[Verse 2]

Dark waters cavin' in

You were the light I knew (Ooh)

Don't know how to pretend

'Cause I'm not bulletproof

[Chorus]

Please don't slip away

'Cause my heart can't take it

Don't let this be the end

Don't let this be the end

Please don't slip away

'Cause I'll just keep breakin'

Don't let this be the end

Don't let this be the end

When her voice raised, Unicron's audio receptors were full of pleasure and regret. Such a voice this femme has. Recalling the mention that she sang to children to calm them, he felt the same contentment with her tune. The regret he does not possess felt before struck him. To him, the concept was foreign. As the Chaos Bringer, he should never feel remorse for his deeds, yet it hit him like his brother's blow. To Scientia, he was the light that brought her out of her little shell, and yet he treated her like his prisoner when all she did was show him respect and gratitude. The God of Chaos wanted to continue hearing her singing. Then, Scientia sang softly near the end of the song.

[Bridge]

(Ooh)

Don't let this be the end

Ooh, don't let this be the end

After it, her voice raised to that of an angel's. Unicron felt calmer and content, even to the point where he didn't care about looking for a champion to enslave and enthrall him to destroy his brother. All he ever wanted was solitude and peace with the femme he was with right now.

[Chorus]

Please don't slip away

'Cause my heart can't take it

Don't let this be the end

Don't let this be the end

Please don't slip away

'Cause I'll just keep breakin'

Don't let this be the end

Don't let this be the end

[Outro]

Ooh

Don't let this be the end

As soon as the voice died, she sensed Unicron's presence behind her. She turned to see Unicron standing there with silent awe. Weeks of him being around her desensitized her sense of surprise.

While she turned away and sat in thought, Unicron wondered to himself about Scientia's hardships. Her demeanor was happy when in his presence. Without it, her mood became sullen. It's like a pet having separation anxiety when the owner isn't home. What could she possibly tell him?

That is until Unicron quietly determined that she never had a normal childhood. It was as if she had no childhood at all. Knowing he was trying to help her, Scientia looked at him sullenly, and she began recounting her background.

Before she met Unicron, her life was unfulfilling. She never knew her parents, so she guessed they abandoned her. During her days in an orphanage, she never had friends. All she had were books as sources of comfort. While different families adopted the little ones, she remained in the orphanage by herself. That is, until the day she met her future mentor, Hookclaw. Contrasting to his seemingly brutish nature, he was a gentle and kind soul whose wisdom was said to be gifted by Primus. To Scientia, he was her father until the day he didn't wake up when she grew into her adolescent years. To this day, she never knew why anyone wouldn't adopt her. All she ever heard were rumors that her eyes were bad luck. No matter how many times she tried to avoid their stares, she kept hearing their whispers saying to her that she was responsible for his passing with a gaze. Every time she tried to make friends, they turned away from her, fearing her "evil optics" may curse them with illness.

Hearing her story, Unicron realized this femme was just one surprise after another. He expected Primus to have a peaceful and prosperous world where everything was okay, but all Scientia got in her life was stigmatization and isolation. He already knew that Gods are all-powerful, but not all of them are perfect at all. Scientia shuddered as she cried, hurt from recalling her past. She had nothing more to say. While he has never suffered from infamy, for he was the Chaos Bringer, he could understand her need for companionship. Knowing she needed comfort, he gently turned her around and wrapped his arms around her, holding her to his chest. Scientia began to feel tears falling from her optics again.

While it may have softened the blow, Unicron knew it was never enough for Scientia. He offered to fly her into the skies, wanting her to witness the beauty from above. Scientia's optics widened at the offer. The first time, Unicron offered her to fly with him to collect samples, and he offered her to fly with him a second time without a request from her. However, this time, she will be sharing the flight with him. As much as he wanted to fly alone into the skies to be in thought, he wanted her to experience joy for herself.

Scientia bit her lip, trying to fight off a smile. The way he said that almost sounded as if he were worried about her. Why would he be acting this way? Did he care about her? Knowing she needed a break from being cooped up in the cave, she took his offer. When Unicron stood, he lifted her to meet his stoic face. What surprised him was her suddenly wrapping her arms around his neck.

As he felt her embrace him without fear or hesitation, Unicron froze. He wasn't used to something like this right now. He was the God of Chaos, and he was aware of his infamous reputation on Cybertron. He would be used as a Boogeymech figure to scare naughty sparklings into recharging. After securing her gently, Unicron stood up, allowing his demonic wings to spread. As Unicron prepared for takeoff, he jumped into the air with his mighty strength to reach the roof. After opening the mountain, he flew into the sky with Scientia in his arms.

When Unicron flew in the air, Scientia was amazed at his supernatural strength, even though it was simply an avatar created to interact with the environment, including those around him. It felt peaceful up in the air with no distractions or anything that would bother her. Unicron felt the same way. When he was born alongside Primus, he felt content to explore the universe with his twin brother without hindrance. Now, he was flying with another in his manifestation, feeling the air hitting his protoform parts.

When Scientia asked for Unicron to release her, he was unsure. Reluctantly, he did so, but what he did not expect was the sound of her laughter. During his first encounter with her, she feared dying when she fell down the mountain. Now, she took joy in the experience without caring for her safety. Worried that she would plummet, Unicron gently floated beside her and caught the laughing femme with his arms without harming her. Feeling the sadness of recalling her story fading from her system, Scientia wrapped her arms around his neck, facing him, while Unicron wrapped his arms around her frame. He flew straight and floated with the femme in his broad arms.

For a few moments, they stared into each other's optics. Scientia's red ruby optics met Unicron's dark purple amethyst optics. For months, she felt a sense of kinship with the Chaos Bringer. Unicron felt the same connection with her. Both were alone in their respective worlds. Yet here they are, together. They closed their optics as their mouthplates touched together in a kiss. Scientia kept her arms wrapped around Unicron's neck, feeling more and more relaxed as the kiss deepened. The moment they kissed, both began to realize something, "We found each other."
