Starscream and Shayna continued to try to think of a way to save Knock Out, who was still unresponsive, and Starscream could tell had gone into emergency stasis lock before he found him, And noticed a few of his digits were missing.
"What happened to you?" Starscream thought sadly, he could tell Knock Out had welded off his own digits and knew the poor red medic must have been desperate to escape at some point. (welding their digits off was the cybertronian equivalent of a person cutting their fingers off.)
Starscream knew that Knock Out must have really felt like there was no other choice if he had damaged his own servos, because to a medic the hands are everything and losing any of his digits could end Knock Out's job as a medic possibly forever.
So this just drove home how high the stakes were, Knock Out was willing to sacrifice everything to keep the Decepticons from getting access to Teletraan-1 and all the Autobots information.
Starscream and Shayna were both trying to figure out what to do, when they suddenly heard a sound from outside, So Starscream went looked out and saw another cybertronian.
Then the seeker was relieved when he saw an Autobot symbol on the other bot's wing and went out to greet him.
"Hey it's good to see an Autobot my friend Knock Out is hurt and needs medical attention." Starscream explained quickly.
"Well I happen to be a medic." Said the bot who Starscream could tell was also a flyer from the wings on his back. "My name is Pharma."
"I'm Starscream and Knock Out is right in here." Starscream replied, Then lead the way hoping he could save Knock Out but suddenly Pharma pulled a blaster on him.
"What are you doing?" Asked the seeker wondering why the Autobot medic was currently pointing a weapon at him.
"I can't believe the Autobots would let two Decepticons join them, Since no one is here to witness it I'll kill you first since Knock Out isn't going anywhere then I can finish him off later." Pharma hissed darkly, and Starscream realized his error.
Starscream was trying to think of how to stop Pharma from killing him without risking Knock Out being harmed more then he already was, It would be easy for the jet medic to attack him to get at the seeker if Starscream struggled, or for the red medic to be caught in the crossfire if things got out of hand.
Starscream was desperately trying to figure out what to do, When he spotted Shayna who Pharma didn't know about who winked at him having a plan.
Suddenly she kicked a bucket that was near where she was standing making Pharma turn to see what the sound was, And Starscream jumped the other flyer while he was distracted.
The two seekers struggled until Pharma tried to shoot Starscream with his blaster but the former Decepticon second in command managed to turn the weapon back on him at the last second when he pulled the trigger shooting Pharma in the spark and killing him instantly.
Starscream's optics widened he had only wanted to stop Pharma not kill him he wasn't a Decepticon anymore and didn't want to be responsible for killing anyone else.
"I didn't mean too," Starscream started before Shayna cut him off.
"It's ok this wasn't your fault you only acted in self-defense after he tried to kill you and Knock Out, He brought that on himself." She told the seeker trying to comfort and reassure him knowing he felt bad that it had to come to that.
Then Starscream checked Pharma's subspace and found a medkit and a data pad that was full of medical information, This was good he could use this to save Knock Out.
Unfortunately when he started to work he saw some of Knock Out's parts couldn't be fixed including his servos and T-cog that had been damaged during his torture and escape attempt.
"Oh Knock Out." Starscream said sadly knowing his best friend would never be the same again assuming he could save him.
Then the seeker got an idea and decided to scavenge Pharma's body for parts to fix Knock Out.
"Well looks like your gonna help fix him after all." Starscream told Pharma's corpse.
"Hope this works." Thought Shayna knowing how important this was to Starscream knowing his friend's life was on the line and that the seeker would be devastated if he failed to save him or he didn't fully recover.
"This would be so much easier if Ratchet or an actual medic was here." Groaned Starscream who was focusing on helping his friend but at the same time was terrified of messing something up.
"Well after all the times you patched me up I guess it's time to return the favor." Starscream added as he continued to fix Knock Out and replaced his servos and T-cog with Pharma's.
Some hours later Starscream finished work on Knock Out, now all they could do was wait and hope that Knock Out would wake up and recover.
It was so late that Starscream fell into recharge then woke up the next morning to voices and was thrilled to see that Knock Out was now awake and chatting with Shayna.
"Knock Out!" Starscream said hugging his friend glad that he was OK.
"Easy I'm not fully healed yet!" Knock Out told the seeker who apologized having touched a sore spot.
"It's OK, Thanks for fixing me Screamer you did a great job." Knock Out smiled, Feeling glad to be safe and with friends now.
Then Starscream got Knock Out up to speed since he had already met Shayna and they had made friends too and waited for Starscream to wake up knowing the seeker had been worn out.
Then they told him about what happened with Pharma and Knock Out also assured Starscream that he had no other choice and Pharma would have killed all three of them if Starscream hadn't stopped him.
"I destracted him by kicking the bucket." Shayna told Knock Out. "Wait that sounded bad." Then the three of them laughed.
Shayna had agreed to go with them the next day now a part of the team, Then Knock Out explained to them what all had happened to him since Cybertron.
And Starscream was angry at Barricade for nearly killing his friend, and said if he ever meet him he would make him pay.
"Just make sure you save some for me I want to get back at him for what he did to my finish." Knock Out said to his friend, And then the red medic fixed Starscream's wing for him.
And the three decided that they would start looking for the scrapyard to get the drive to Bumblebee and his team the next day because it was late and they needed to rest.
